Land Geek Nation. What's up? It's Mark Podolski, the Land Geek, with your favorite niche real estate website, www.thelandgeek.com. and I have on this Facebook live, this YouTube live. You know you love him, dude. Buddy. The nightcap OG Scott Bossman. Scott Bossman. How is it in quarantine land in beautiful Wisconsin?
It's okay. It's a bit strange. It is a beautiful spring day here. A little cloudy, but a beautiful spring day and just kind of quiet around the house. So we're just all focusing on our respective tasks. The boys are focusing on their schoolwork. I'm focusing on land and talking to some people in the Land Geek community and doing a little spring cleaning as well. So just trying to stay busy.
Nice, Nice. Kids are doing okay, though.
Kids are doing okay. Yeah. They're really struggling. They want to hang out with their friends. Like, one in particular, he's a social butterfly, and so I think he's. He's struggling a little bit with the fact that he can't be hanging out with his friends. So what about just throwing the football round?
Like, we like art. Our kids do that. Like, we'll let them play catch with their friends. Six feet.
Yeah. Like, some outdoor gatherings is cool. Yeah, so we're doing that.
All right, cool. So we got some cool things going on today. What's the latest in Land Geek world?
So, well, tonight we're having a live Q and A session with Scott Todd on Zoom. So for those that are interested in giving this a spin or for those that you know, I think. I think we'll talk a lot about flight school and how powerful that program is. So if. If there are a lot. If there are people out there, maybe you have the toolkit. Maybe. Maybe you don't have the toolkit, but maybe you want to know what. What flight school is all about. Tonight is the time to get all the information you need so you can move forward with confidence. And, you know, we love it when Scott comes on these calls with us because he's very animated. He's very passionate about this business, and he's so gosh darn smart, and it just elevates the Zoom room. So those calls are really fun for Zaino and I and for Scott Todd. So if you guys are around, join us. There is information in the events portion of the Land Geek page and also the Land Geek motivation group.
Awesome. Awesome. So any sales today yet? Any land sales?
I'm on the vert, actually. I'm on the verge of one. I have A lady very, very interested. So. But yeah, we had a. We had a great week last week. And I'm just trying to stay busy. Trying not to, I don't know, try not to let the. The environment get me down too much as you, you know, Trying to. Try not to watch the news too much. Although I need to be aware. I want to be aware, but it's tough out there.
Yeah. You know, I got a text message from my buddy. He works for a billionaire. I won't say which billionaire, but he's laying off people and, you know, Cause think about it like if 20% of his net worth just went away in the market. And, you know, it's. It's crazy what's going on, but. Oh, Paul Brewer's on. What's up, Paul? He said beard is looking good. Scott Bossman.
Thanks, buddy. Yeah, Zano made me jealous last night. Did you notice Zaino's beard last night?
Zaino? Yeah.
I've never seen.
He's looking svelte. The beard's looking tight.
Yeah, yeah, I don't know, he's. He's looking good. So I was a little intimidated last night when I got off the call and said to my wife, I gotta. I gotta work on my physique and my facial hair and.
Yeah, what I did after that call was I fedexed him a bunch of cookies.
Nice.
So I'm in a full Zano undermine mode because, like, you know, you know how it is when people change and they better themselves. It makes you feel badly about yourself. So I'm like, no, I'm not gonna do that. During quarantine, he's gonna drink alcohol, he's gonna overeat, he's going to stress eat like the rest of us.
Right?
I'm just joking. Zaino. If you're on right now, I'm just joking. I would send you cookies, but I'm not to undermine you.
Right?
Yeah, for sure. So. But you're taking good care of yourself. Like, you're going on the peloton. I'm going on the peloton. I worked out today, meditated. So we got self care going on.
Yeah, we got self care going on. I mentioned on Nightcap last night, I'm taking this opportunity to reach out to some folks I haven't talked to in a while as well, just to kind of reconnect. Because, I mean, this whole thing puts things in perspective. It makes you really realize what's important in life. So trying to connect with some folks I haven't talked to in a while. But yeah, I don't know, it's interesting how it's affecting all of us. Talked to my sister last night. She's a principal at a school and she's actually working very hard. They have spring break this week, but she's working very hard to get things implemented next week for distance learning for their school. And she was talking about what a challenge it is because, yes, there are, you know, families that have the resources at home to do distance learning, but there are so many families in her school who do not have those resources. So, wow, she's hard at work right now. And then talk to my mom. I gotta give a shout to my mom. I'm really proud of her. She's actually, she's a retired nurse and she is, she is a seamstress. Like, she makes quilts all day long and she does needlework and that type of thing. But she is like making homemade masks for the community where my parents live in preparation for this because they don't have enough masks. And so she's like sewing masks all day long, which I thought was really, really cool. So.
See, I think, I think it's in your DNA, Scott Bossman. That, that, that just generosity of just wanting to help.
Well, I'd like to think so. I'd like to hope so. I guess Nature and nurture. Yeah, for sure.
Amazing.
Yeah.
Yeah, that's, that's. Well, that's incredible. I got, I got the chills just thinking about that. That's really, really nice. We are, we're trying to do our part around here. We're gonna go do some food deliveries to the elderly, get the teenagers out a little bit, and, you know, obviously donating, you know, money to the food bank and all that good stuff. So. And you know, it just makes you feel good to at least, you know, I don't feel as helpless when I do that. Otherwise, like, I'll just sit in my. Just feel hopeless, which. Which is no good. So speaking of not being helpless, we got a few giveaways, right? What are we doing? The giveaways.
So I think we're doing the giveaways tomorrow. Last week we gave away a toolkit, which was pretty cool. And this week we're gonna give away season one of Lots Looking over Tate's shoulder. And for those that don't know what Lots is, Tate put together a 10 episode miniseries on how he runs his land business. And it's. Wow, the production of that was absolutely amazing, wasn't it?
Yeah, no, it's great. It's great and it's fun and it's. And you get to see a different side of Tate. And even if you get one little gem out of that on how to improve your business, it's worth it for sure. Yeah, that's really cool.
So if you guys are interested. Yeah, people are interested. Leave a comment in the chat here and we'll put your names in the virtual hat tomorrow and draw a couple names out for lots.
Yeah, yeah. So I've been doing a lot of reading, meditating, and I picked up a book I haven't read in a while. I wanted to share with you Scott Bossman, A More Beautiful Question. A More Beautiful Question by Warren Berger. It's the power of inquiry to spark breakthrough ideas. And as I was reading, I started thinking, well, what are some other questions that I could just ask myself personally? And one of the questions that I came up with that I thought was a really good question because I was on a walk with my son today and I asked him, what is it that I've never really understood about you? What is it that I've never really understood about you? And that just sparked a whole great 30 minute walk, conversation to chat, you know, kind of like, just see, like, what am I missing?
Oh, that's great.
Yeah. Just kind of checking in there and. And then he asked me the same question. He's like, dad, what about, what about it? What is that I haven't really understood about you? I'm like, I don't know, maybe how much I care. I don't know.
Right.
He's like, no, no. I'm like, I don't know. Gotta think about that. I'm like, but you know, the interesting thing is I think it's an unfair question, really. I'm like, you should never be thinking about me. So I don't want you necessarily concerned with me and what's going on with me. You're at that age. You should be kind of selfish in thinking about you. It's normal. I don't want, you have to worry about me and my feelings, you know?
Yeah, we don't want that.
Yeah.
We don't want that from our kids.
Yeah. You, you understand the rules that I like. So there's, there's no, there's no ambiguity there. Like.
Right, exactly.
You know, don't put your, your sink in the, in the, your dish in the sink. Rinse it, put it in the dishwasher, please.
Yes. How many times, how many, how many times do we have to. You know the house rule. Right. I just don't understand.
Yeah.
Seriously, I. I don't know. Yeah, it's a struggle in every family, I'm sure.
Yeah. Yeah. So that. So that was a question that came up, was, what is it that I never really said about you? Then I asked kind of myself, where is it that I want to go? Where is it that I want to go? And kind of like, starting with the end in mind, like, where do I really want to be in life?
Nice.
And, you know, I stole this from Naval Ravikant, but I love his answer and I adopted it because it's a calm mind, a fit body, and a house full of love. So how do I reverse engineer getting those things and, you know, so.
Lost ya.
Oh, did you lose me here?
Ah, I don't know. Why? I just lost.
I. I hear you. Can you hear me now?
Can you hear me? Yeah, sure.
Yeah. All right, so I'd love to know in the comments, like, what questions are you kind of asking yourselves right now as you have this time to reflect on your lives? I was also going to start journaling how many times a day I feel anxious or I do things out of anxiety or pleasure seeking just to see how much of my day is really taken up with that.
Yeah, that's a great thing to do. Let me know how that goes. I'd be writing all day.
I mean, that's the thing. I might be writing all day, but I think that something might happen where, like, you know, when people do food journals and they can become more aware of it, they just automatically stop eating as much. It's like. Like they're more mindful of it.
Right.
So I'll see if I can be more mindful about the. Every single moment of the day. And I got the time. Might as well.
Yeah, exactly.
You know.
That'S awesome. I think that's awesome that you had that conversation with your son today. And, like, I mean, I don't know. I tricked myself having that conversation with my son and my dad. My son would be like, dad, what are you talking about? Let's just go play ball. I don't know if they're at the maturity level there to have that conversation.
Oh, yeah. I mean, for sure, like, half the things I talk to my kids about, they're not clearly getting it.
All right.
Yeah.
But no, that's great. Yeah. To be thinking outside the box like that and to have those conversations with your kids, I think is amazing.
So thank you. Thank you. So what's for dinner tonight?
I think I probably shouldn't, but I think I'm gonna make Buttered noodles. We have a great butter noodle recipe that we make. So do that and a little side of broccoli. Okay, Sounds good.
What do you put in there.
In the butter noodles?
Yeah.
Well, you know, you put a lot of butter in there and parmesan cheese. A grated parmesan cheese. Then put some pesto in it, mix it up with pesto. It's very good.
Nice. It's an interesting how they like the. Like the simplest things taste the best.
Yes.
You know, like pizza. How simple is that?
Love pizza.
So good pasta.
What are you guys doing? Have you been ordering out from small businesses?
I have been. In fact, we ordered pizza last night from a small local business. Ordered some Chinese from a small local business. But then we've also getting the kids in the kitchen. We're cooking together as a family and chopping and dicing. And now my middle has eight fingers. My youngest has seven fingers. But these are the things that happen in quarantine that you just live with in all in the name of teaching responsibility and independence. Sometimes you lose, you know. So speaking of responsibility and independence, I'm really excited for that flight school tonight because I. I really. I really believe in my heart this is the best time ever to get into the lamb business. Really.
Right.
Yeah. Oh, my gosh. Yeah. So for so many reasons, but just. Even forget like just the economy, but just to have that insurance policy of never having to go through the uncertainty of being fired, like, right. You protected yourself, you protected your family because you've created this business for yourself that is providing this passive income. And even just. Just to get out of sole economic dependency that in and of itself is. Will provide you a lifetime of peace of mind.
Yeah. I can't. I look at. I'm so fortunate. I mean, I'm so glad I found you five years ago. And we talked about this on nightcap last night. Like, I never would have guessed that I'd be as prepared as I am for something like this. And, you know, for people that are feeling uncertain in life and struggling with the current times, I think you're right. I think there is no better time to do this and there's no better community to do it with because we just have our community. Just everyone's so helpful. Right. And so giving and so. And you will do anything for anybody in this community to help them move forward, and so will so many other people.
And.
Yeah, I just. That's the beauty of flight school as well, is that you're going through this with a group of people you're not alone. Everybody brings their own gifts to the table and it's a collaborative effort getting started. So. Yeah, it's awesome.
Yeah. And you know, to have Scott Todd who's, you know, teaching you, you know, his passive now is over 75, 000amonth. You couldn't have anybody really better to guide you.
No one better.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So.
And you know what the cool thing about flight school too, Mark, is that it's, it is cutting edge. Right. Like it's flight school today is different than a year ago because Scott reflects in his teachings what's going on in the current market. And it's awesome.
No, yeah. It's what you want. It's what you need really, to have that guidance and to have that person that has already climbed the mountain and then help take you up it with, you know, and helping you avoid all the, all the mistakes. It really is the best part of mentorship because it provides that accountability and you're just doing it together with your class in real time. So there's no sort of getting in your own way. It's like, okay, we're all doing it. Let's go. And you just do it.
Yeah, I was thinking about that today actually. How many people do you think who get the toolkit or a toolkit of some kind are mailing on day 14?
Zero. I know there's, I know there's. There's a 3% success rate on any do it yourself program.
3%, right. So the fact that people are mailing on day 14 of flight school, that's. I mean, there's no. You have no choice. But not to Male.
Right, Right. So, yeah, exactly. It's like, it's like going to the gym and having. Well, if we could go to a gym, you know, group personal training, like, of course you're gonna do the uncomfortable exercise. Everyone else is doing it, but you've got that trainer there that's, that's guiding you, helping you, making sure you don't get hurt.
Nope.
So it's. Yeah, it's a game changer.
It is a game changer. Speaking of the gym, maybe we should do a land geek push up challenge. Have you seen that on social media? Everybody's doing push ups.
No kidding.
And then they, yeah, they do, they take a video of them doing push ups and then they tag another person and that person's supposed to do push ups and tag another person. And I don't know.
All right, leave a comment. Let us know if you want to do a, a push up challenge. So let's see. Mike Ring says I'm interested. I would like to listen in on. Oh, he wants. Mike Ring wants lots. Tom Conway. What's up, Tom? California crust.
Cauliflower.
Cauliflower crust. Well, California cauliflower. Is there really a difference? Yeah, Shaft Meyer is doing great. So he's saying in. Paul Brewer's in. Man, I have a feeling Paul Brewer is ripped. Those firefighters. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. The most emasculating thing is when the firefighters have to come to your house. Like, my wife's getting her makeup on. She's doing her hair. The firefighters are coming, like, you know, and these guys are like, six, three, six, four. They're all ripped. They're like, hello, little man. We'll take it from here.
Right?
The men are here. You can just go. You can go to the kitchen and. Do you want a lollipop or something while we take care of things? Tate Litchfield's on. What's up, Tate?
Hey, Tate.
Tom Conway add to broadcast Tate. Hope those kids are doing well. Oh, little baby Jude.
Baby Jude. Yeah, that's. He was a big baby, too.
Oh, yeah.
Like £9 or something.
Yeah. Phenomenal.
Good size. Healthy boy.
Joe Lucas writes. Hey, guys. Good afternoon. My soon to be wife and I are saving for our first home. Once that's settled, I'm diving in head first. What are some things I should prep before I go? I full go that aren't pricey. What should he do first to prep that aren't pricey? He's watching his money there.
Yeah. I mean, so many things. Number one is digest all the information you can from the podcasts and the Facebook group. That's free.
Yeah.
Reed Dirt Rich. That's very inexpensive and a good read.
Two bucks.
Yeah. You have a free wholesaling class, which is awesome. That shows people how to start doing this with very little money.
Oh, yeah. Go to the landgeek.com quickdeals. There's a free wholetailing course right there.
Yeah. So what else? What else?
That'd be great.
Come to our Q and A tonight. It's for everybody. Yeah, right.
Exactly. Go on Nightcap, the Roundtable podcasts. There's so much free information we give, it's insane. Oh, Todd Kushette. I'm really worried about my fantasy football leagues. Is there a Land Geek League? Should we do a Land Geek League for push ups? I can tell you right now I'm not going in the first round for push ups. Like. Like Zaina would go in the first round for sure. Paul Brewer definitely Like the firefighters you want in the first round. Boston, you're in good shape. You'd go. You'd be going first round. Tate would definitely go in the first round.
Yeah.
For sure. Tate. Lots. Looking over. Tate. Shoulder. Tate, we've been talking about lots of. We're giving away. How many. How many lots are we giving away tomorrow?
Oh, we're giving away a few lots tomorrow.
Yeah. Paul Brewer. Get a list. That's some good advice.
Yeah, that's a free thing. Get a list for free.
Yeah, but Paul, I mean, that really isn't that helpful. Get a list. You gotta. There's 3,007 U.S. counties. Like, where's he gonna go first? He's so.
Yeah, but if you people without. With everything we just mentioned, people can figure out how to get a list for sure.
Oh, Landon Harris. Oh, no. Landon's like, I'm in for pushups. I need some exercise. So Landon is like, he's ripped. He's ripped. He's a. He's a swim instructor, and his wife Terea is ripped. She's a. Like a fitness model. Or between the two of them, they're going first round. The Harris family is going first round.
We just need to declare land in the winter right now because I don't. I don't want to be embarrassed.
Yeah, I would. Yeah, exactly. Landon's not fair. How about, like, Landon, you'd have to have. Okay, this would be the fair. Landon could do the push up challenge, but Taria has to put her legs on his back.
There you go.
And vice versa. So if Tree gets in it, like, she's got it. Like, Landon's legs have to be on. On her back. That might make it more fair. What do you think, Landon?
It might. Yeah, it might.
Yeah. Paul Brewer likes. Okay. Pick a county then. Yeah, for sure. Yeah, Like, Paul brewers. Like. Like having flashbacks of me at boot camp. What's the first thing we need to do? And everyone's like, get up list. I'm like, no. Should we. Yeah, let us know in the comments. Should we do something virtual? Since we're not doing the April bootcamp, should we do something where. Well, we already talked about this. Like, we'll do the girl the geek segment. Paul Brewer, Are you in? Paul Brewer?
Yeah, he needs hairs.
Could be in. Oh, Landon wrote, I like a challenge. Yeah, we know you like a challenge, Landon. Your muscles reflect that.
Yes. Yes, they do.
I hope he's laughing right now.
Oh, I'm sure he is. Yeah. I think grill the geeks and.
We could do Facebook marketing. That could be fun. Virtually. You know what would be kind of fun is if we spent the weekend following a deal. Like we put up one of our deals. We showed them how to put an ad up on Facebook and we just would check in on it and just in real time answer the questions.
Let.
Them be a fly on the wall, maybe have a call or two with a seller or a buyer. That could be fun.
Yeah, I like that idea.
Paul Brewer wrote. Yes, he's in for grill the geeks. Phenomenal. Phenomenal. What else can we do? You guys put in the chat here. Jen Ramquist, Virtual mini bootcamp. Jen Ramquist, I'm very excited for you. Very, very excited for you. In a little bit, Jen Ramquist. Colors are going to be more vibrant. Food is going to taste better. Life is going to be so much better once you start flight school. So congrats on making the leap into your land investing journey. Don't think we're not watching. Oh, we're watching.
Very true. Very true.
Yeah. What advice do you give to the new incoming flight school students?
Well, they really do just need to follow the recipe. That's the biggest thing. And Scott Todd will emphasize that from call one. You just need to do what he teaches and don't deviate from that. And you will be doing deals and you need to do your homework. Right. That's the great thing about flight school is after every call, you have homework. And that homework keeps you on task. And there's great accountability in that, having to come to the next class prepared. But that's what makes the whole machine chug forward. So I just think, you know, go into it with a. Just, just be, be excited and know that if you just follow the recipe, you're going to be doing deals. I mean, we just talked about you're gonna be mailing by day 14, you're gonna own a property by week six, and then you're gonna turn around and sell that property by the time flight school's over. So pretty awesome.
That's awesome. So Jen Ramquist wrote, that's not creepy at all. I don't know which part was creepy. I don't know what she's referring to. But if we're being creepy, I don't know. I hope not.
The fact that you were watching. Oh, we're watching. I think maybe that was it.
Oh, that could be creepy.
Okay, okay.
I mean, we are so. But we're not doing it in a sort of creepy way. We're doing it in a we really care way. And here to help you Way and excited for you kind of way. Andrew Mino's excited. Yeah. Phenomenal. Paul Brewer has got to run. Catch you on the next live broadcast. Thanks for all you do, guys. Thank you, Paul Brewer, for sure. Racine, what's virtual mini boot Camp? Well, we're just talking about it because Racine, we. We had to cancel the April Phoenix Boot Camp. So. That's what we were talking about. Maybe we'd do something virtual on here and have people jump on and do that. So, Scott, we wouldn't do it live like this, would we? We would do it on Zoom, like one of our group calls.
Yeah, I think do a Zoom call and provide some content that way, like you mentioned. I like that Facebook. I like that Facebook Marketplace idea. Set an ad and track it. We have our Jeopardy. Game pretty much ready to go. So, you know, we could. Could have a few people come. Come in a Zoom call and do a Jeopardy. Game. And only if you. Only if you do the. The Will Ferrell. Alex Trebek, though.
Oh, that's so fun. That was, that was. That was Sean Connery. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. So good. Jen Ramquist. Super excited. Yeah, we're really excited for you. Joe Lucas, is flight school virtual? Yeah, of course. Yeah. All the classes are virtual. Our whole business is virtual. So the only time that we do things in person are the four boot camps that are quarterly. The new Land Geek Boardroom, which is for people after the one on one coaching. But Scott Bossman, what are we going to do about that? What are we going to do about the boardroom? Because I know we've got a bunch of people who are coming out of coaching. They're excited about the boardroom. They can't get together with their boardroom members. Now, do we do that virtually to start?
Yeah, we might need to consider that. Something like that. Or maybe change the schedule. The schedule is we have two live meetups a year, so maybe, I don't know, maybe we get them started on something and meet at like month 6 and month 12 or something like that. But yeah, talk about it.
Yeah, we'll figure that out, Shaft.
Meyer, you mentioned the fact that our. I just wanted to say you mentioned the fact that our business is virtual. I did something this week for the first time in our business that I thought was so cool. I needed a notary Monday for a cash sale and I could not find one anywhere. I usually just go to the bank because it's just down the road.
Right.
Well, bank lobby's closed. Libraries are closed. No one has a notary. So I did my first online notary signing the other day.
Awesome.
Yeah, it was amazing. Online notary.net I was done in 5 minutes.
Now the question is on Simplify, because Simplify. I was like, these counties are closed. So to get the deed recorded.
My county was not closed.
Okay.
My county is not closed. So I know a lot of the counties are still open, or maybe if their physical offices aren't open, they're still doing E recording.
Okay.
Some of the. Some of the messages I've been getting, but yeah, it's like, just keeps getting easier and easier. Now I don't want to, you know, it was 20 bucks, but now I don't want to go to the bank. I just want to stay home and do it.
Yeah, no, exactly. No, for sure. I mean, I've. I've taken it even further, giving our team limited power of attorney to sign the deeds for me.
Yeah, that's.
That's even better.
That's awesome.
So Schaffmeyer wants to know what's the thinking on Vegas boot camp in August? Go. No, go. Let's go to our local epidemiologist. Am I even saying that right? Epidemiologist. Epidemiologist.
Epidemiologist.
Epidemiologist. Epidemiologist Scott Bossman. Scott, given the current rate of coronavirus infection, do you see us having a Vegas boot camp in August? Your thoughts?
So I think by August, there are a lot of smart people working on this. Right. And I think they're already saying things this week about different medical treatments that we can maybe put into play here soon. So I think, although the curve is going up right now, I think there's going to be some type of intervention in play. I think the social distancing is going to help. It is going to slow things down. But, you know, in a couple weeks here, it's going to be pretty messy. But I think there's going to be some intervention that enables us to all get back to work. I'm putting my faith in that, I guess, and get back to life as we know it. And then, yeah, I'm hoping boot camp in August.
All right.
Because there's nothing, Nothing better than 105 degree Vegas weather in August.
Well, look, we're inside and we're working hard.
It's all good.
It's Vegas. Be fun.
It is.
Here's a good question from Michael Ring in flight school. Is there a written manual to follow along on as well? That's a really good question.
Yeah, there's no particular written manual, although Scott Todd does have an online notebook where he posts some of the essential class notes and some of his visual aids and that type of thing. But the great thing, Michael, is that all the calls are recorded, and a lot of people, you know, they'll watch and interact during that first call, and then they go right back at it the next morning and just review it and take close notes. But. But yeah, along with the live training and the class notes and the recorded videos and the group collaboration, I mean, you come out with a really good grasp of what needs to be done, for sure.
Yeah. And you do get the investors toolkit with that as well, which is a nice reference to go back to as well. Racine wrote, oh, my God, my feed froze. I need to watch the reply.
The replay.
Maybe the replay. Racine. We answered the question. Go back. You'll hear it. Andrew Mino, Is there a master list of useful websites? So there is, actually. We're constantly updating this in the toolkit under resources, and I don't even know how. It's hard to keep up with, actually, I'll be honest, because every week we have a new useful tip. So it'd be great if somebody in the community wanted to start making, like, a wiki, if you will, of all the land geek tips for the year. I don't know. It's a good idea. But, yeah, we do have a master list of that in the toolkit, for sure. Yeah. Speaking of useful websites, Scott, is there a website right now that you go to that you would say, boy, without this tool or website, my life would be so much more difficult?
Well, the tool, I guess would be. Would be airtable. I rely pretty heavily on that.
How dare you? How dare you?
You love air table.
Yeah, I do. Yeah. You lived very well without Airtable. You know what you couldn't live with Scott Bossman, with all your notes? That little set it and forget it system called GeekPay IO.
I see what you're doing here. I see what you're doing. See if I. Yeah, See what I did there? Geek Pay. Geek Pay is amazing because until.
No, it's not. No. Airtable is Scott Bossman. Forget it. Don't take it back now. I'm a big boy. I've got. You know what? I got thick skin. I can take it.
Yeah, I know. I. I would say that. Yes, I. If I had to give one up before the other, I'd give up airtable.
No, you wouldn't.
No question.
No, you wouldn't, would you?
Sure, I would. Sure. Yeah.
I love airtable.
GeekPay automates my payments. I got. It's. They're all automated. Like, there's great. You know what happened, Mark, is the first two years I didn't have Geek pay and I was keeping track of everything on spreadsheets. And then once I got Geek pay and automated all my payments, the default rate goes down. And it's. It's amazing.
Yeah. And you have to make those awkward phone calls. Didn't get your payment this month, your payment bounced, or those, you know, the email. It's all noted. It's all automated. So look at that. Look how I. How I made this Facebook Live about me.
It's all good. It's about all of us. Because it is a really amazing tool. It's. It's essential to our business for sure.
Yeah. I apologize for the. The millions of you watching right now and listening, you know, but I had to haze Scott Bossman there for a second.
Yeah, you hazed me good.
Yeah, I. I'd make a good little brother.
Right?
Adria. Can't wait to learn about both. Shaft Meyer. Is Mark Kohler, cpa, still the guy to go to for advice on LLC setup, etc. I think Mark Kohler's great. I don't know if he's the go to guy for advice. I think he. Depending on where you're at, he could be pricey. I think when you first start a simple llc, you could get on Rocket Lawyer would suffice. Mark Kohler, if you're watching, I apologize. But he's great. He's great. Is airtable similar to Slack or Basecamp? Todd Kushette wants to know.
So airtable is just. You explain it, Mark. You're better at that.
Okay, so, Todd, if we took a spreadsheet in a database and we married them, that would be airtable. But what's cool about airtable is you can create all types of zaps with it. And it's sort of hard to explain where Slack is more of a communication channel, which would. You could use Slack, let's say, with your VA team, is how I would use Slack. I wouldn't necessarily use airtable with that, but airtable, you could manage your land inventory in airtable. Basecamp, again, this is where we actually manage our coaching clients, is in Basecamp. It's more of a communication tool than a spreadsheet and a database. So the answer is no. Airtable is completely different than Slack or Basecamp. Oh, Landon's saying goodbye. See you guys. The wife is making me take a walk. Love the freedom. This Business allows. Thanks, Mark, for changing our lives. Landon Harris. Thank you. And you know, give our love to Taria. For sure. And enjoy the walk. Glad you guys are getting out. For sure.
Yeah. You guys need a little activity?
Yeah. Right, right. Yeah, exactly. That's exactly what they need. I wonder if Landon's getting to the pool at all. I don't know. Probably not.
That's probably not. He usually starts with the team. I remember talking to him about this at like 4 in the morning or he gets there at 4 in the morning. Someone got the hour. He gets to the pool. But I would assume, I would assume college is off right now, so maybe he's got a little more time now to do. To do land at home, which I know is his goal anyway, so.
Yeah, they've been doing great too. So, so proud of team Harris. You know, it sucks too, because they were going to be at Phoenix boot camp in the VIP room.
You know, Landon, I'm a little partial to Landon because they were on my flight after the last boot camp and during the flight I get this little tap on the shoulder and one of the flight attendants hands me two shots of bourbon. And Landon, because he was actually abstaining from. This is a lot about a guy. He's abstaining from bourbon, but he knows how much I like bourbon. And he sent up two shots for me. Like, that was amazing.
That's amazing.
It was his thank you to me, so. That was so nice.
Yeah.
Probably Taria's idea. I shouldn't give Landon all the credit. It was probably Torrea's idea. But the Harrisons, the Harris's.
Yeah. So they're great and they love Mimi. Mimi loves them. It's great. So, Scott Bossman, that reminds me, like, if we're gonna do a mini virtual boot camp, will we do a mini virtual VIP room and have the VIP coaching clients in a zoom room together working on a topic? I don't see why not do that too in April. So. Yeah, we could.
We could.
We gotta have like a coaches call, figure this stuff out. But I'd love to know in the comments what people think. For sure. I don't know. But yeah, I feel like we're having that awkward pause. Scott Bossman, is there anything else you want to.
What's that?
Is there anything else we should discuss? There's not a whole lot of other questions.
Yeah, it's all right. I think just. No, I think we're good. I think we'll come back tomorrow and will give away looking over Tate's shoulder Which is a great product. So everybody was interested in that comment. And we'll put your name in a hat.
Yeah, absolutely. And if you guys want to talk about land investing or anything in particular, I'm opening up my calendar. 15 minute call and happy to talk to. To everybody that is just getting stir crazy.
Nice.
Just as a. If you just want the distraction of the diversion or you could even say to me, hey, you know, Mark, not loving the geek pay jokes with Scott Bossman.
Right.
You know, you can say that whatever you want. We can talk about it. So. Absolutely.
You're opening your calendar to talk to people. You know, the first time we ever talked on the phone, I remember saying, aaron, honey, we have a call with Mark Podolski. Like, this is a big deal. He's a big deal. This is so cool. It is so cool.
Well, look, I appreciate that. It's funny when I call people and they're like, oh my gosh, like, I listened to you on the podcast and it's you. You sound just like that. And, you know, it's. It's always. I always feel like, oh, gosh, they're already sick of my voice, you know, and there's like, you know, or. Because the other funny thing is they don't believe it's me because I've got everything outsourced and they think like, I hired somebody to call for me.
Yeah, yeah.
So.
You'Re gonna outsource yourself soon. You're gonna have like an Android named Mark.
Well, you. Yeah, not bad. Be cool. So Tom Conway is putting his name in the hat. He wants lots.
Nice.
Nice. But, yeah. So, guys, go to landgeek.com forward/training schedule. Call with Scott or Mike and figure out your strategy as we come out of the coronavirus pandemic, which inevitably we will. And really think about positioning yourselves so that if you are in a state of any type of anxiety or fear about your economic future, here's one really solid way to give yourself some insurance and take advantage of it, or at least explore it. If it's not right for you, it's not right for you. But at least schedule the call to see what it is and what it's about and if it is a good fit for you or not. I think right now is that wake up call for people that do have jobs or they do have solo economic dependency, and they've been listening to real estate podcasts for years and never took action. And now they're kind of kicking themselves. I wish I did this then. And now is then. Do it now so that you're not looking back when, you know, inevitably the next horrible thing happens and you're prepared for it.
I love it. It's never too late.
It's never too late to get started. Absolutely. Scott Bossman, I appreciate you, my man.
Appreciate you too. Thanks for having me. And we'll do it again tomorrow.
All right, fantastic.
Maybe you should bring Tate on and Tate should draw the. You know, we should have Tate on.
Will you vox Tate and see if he'll jump on? Yeah, that would be so fun.
Okay, awesome. Yeah, I'll box him and we can do a. We can do a call tomorrow with him.
All right, man. Enjoy that peloton ride.
I will. It's a bonus ride, so no pressure.
Well, I didn't even know I could do bonus rides now. I'll do it. I will. Say, my lower back is kind of stiff, you know?
You know, I tell you what, 45 minutes to an hour on that bike is a long time. Like, you're. I don't know, you're bent over, your neck straining forward, so you gotta reverse. Here's my physical therapist. Tip of the day, right? You have to reverse common postures often. So we gotta do some back bending during the day, especially if we sit a lot.
Okay.
And we gotta do some chin tucks during the day.
What's a chin tuck? What?
A chin tuck. Like that? Perfect.
Ah, that feels really good.
Yeah. Because all day long we're straining our head forward, so we want to go the other way.
Wow, that does feel nice.
Yeah.
It doesn't look pretty.
No, it doesn't look pretty, but it feels. It feels really good. It's actually. Aaron's waving at you, Mark.
Hi, Aaron.
How you doing?
I'm hanging in there. I'm really enjoying my time with the nightcap OG your hubby over here. So thank you for sharing it with us.
He's the original. Green looks good on you. Really does.
Thank you. Thank you. All right, all right.
I'm off to a drug deal.
Listen, enjoy that. Enjoy that. Make sure Scott gives you a big hug and kiss for me.
Oh, you're sweet.
All right.
I love you.
I love you, Ebay. Aaron Bossman.
Yeah.
Yeah. Speaking of love, by the way, that video, you got to put that in the. In the group of the Lord of the Rings fight with his lightsabers was so great and so geeky. I love that.
Wasn't that so well done?
That was really well done. Yeah.
All right, I'll put it in the group. Yeah. Group, Yeah. I mean, Lord of the Rings, plus Star wars, plus Star wars music, plus lightsabers.
It was. It was just a. A veritable panoply of geekiness.
It was. Yeah, I want to see the whole movie like that now. But, yeah. But, yeah, I'll post that in the group.
All right, Go enjoy your family. And as I like to say now, let freedom ring. And wash your hands. Thanks, everybody, for being on Schaff Meyer, Landon Harris, Andrew Mino, Racine Sugai, Michael Ring, Joe Lucas, Jen Ramquist, Paul Brewer. And the Big Pop himself was on Tate Litchfield, Todd Kushette, Joe Lucas. Did I say that? Tom Conway. Yeah. Thanks, everybody. We really appreciate you.
Thanks, Mark.
See you, Scott.
