This is a YouTube video titled "Can ice water \"reset\" your nervous system? 🧊⚡️(part 3/4)" (posted March 18, 2026). The excerpt is a first-person spoken monologue in English by a single speaker (labelled SPEAKER A) describing personal pain-management and nervous-system regulation techniques—warm showers, mini-squats, avoiding bending, drinking hot tea, and splashing the face with ice-cold water to reset the trigeminal nerve—offering practical, experiential coping strategies and reframing advice for dealing with pain.

One of the things that I started doing was warm showers. What do they do? They help to calm your nervous system. And that's the thing about pain. Not only does it hurt, because it does hurt, but then your nervous system gets all hijacked and whatever you're saying to yourself makes it even worse. What does that mean? It means that you're saying, will this ever end? I'm going to feel like this forever. I can't take it. It hurts. It hurts. It hurts. Yes, all that is true, but when you can change your frame of reference or change your mind, you can actually start to see something different. So what do I mean by that? I couldn't lean over because it would make the pain in my head worse. So I started doing these little mini squats when I had to get something off of the floor, or I would just kick things. Honestly, I didn't pick things up. What else kind of worked for me was hot tea because it would start my brain thinking about the tea that was in my mouth. Versus the pain. Also water. I can't drink cold water because that makes it worse, but weirdly, splashing my face with ice cold water 3 times, that can also reset the nervous system and the trigeminal nerve. Even if you don't have trigeminal issues, that might be an awesome reset for you.
