The Scary Guy presents a seven-day challenge: stop saying negative things about others or calling people names, and restart if you slip. He frames it as a way to build self-awareness and break the habit of reflexively repeating what you hear.

And the 7 Day, 7 Night Challenge was created about 7 days because I knew when I got to the end of the program, I wanted to be able to go back to the way I was. It was like a safety valve. 'Cause I didn't want to create a thing called, "Oh, I'm gonna change my life forever," because that feels too unrealistic. So I said, "I'm gonna do this for 7 days to see what I can do and how I can do it." So for 7 days and 7 nights, don't say one negative word about another human on the planet. And for 7 days and 7 nights, don't call another person a name other than their own. Good luck. It's extremely difficult. It sounds really easy, but it's hard to do. So I tell people, you got 7 days, and if you make a mistake on day 3, you got to go back to day 1, start over, because I want 7 in a row. Something's going to happen at the end, and you're going to discover something about yourself on day 8. And you can let me know what you find out about yourself. But the truth is, people think it's about being a good person. And I tell them, well, that could be a benefit, but the truth is, I want to know, what are you doing with what you're hearing? Are you simply taking on everything you hear and you see, regurgitating it in your mind, changing the format, and shooting it back out of your mouth? Or do you have the ability to hear someone speak and not become what you just heard. And that's power. And I don't know, I don't see a lot of people using that kind of power. I see them reacting.
