This is a YouTube vlog titled "I left my arms at the hotel 😬😭 #bionicarm #travel #vlog #dayinthelife" (created 2025-02-18, last edited 2026-03-18). It is a first-person travel/tech-conference vlog in which the main speaker (SPEAKER A) recounts Day 1 in Dubai/Abu Dhabi: arriving on little sleep, accidentally leaving their prosthetic/bionic arms (handbag) at the hotel breakfast, having a colleague (Maria) send the arms on the next shuttle, attending interviews and conference talks, experiencing jet lag, and preparing for an upcoming presentation. A secondary speaker (SPEAKER B) interjects briefly. The excerpt is informal, narrative, and centered on the logistics and personal anecdotes from the event.

What happens when you leave your arms at the hotel when you're meant to be showcasing them at a tech conference? Well, here's day 1 of our trip to Dubai. Hotel in Dubai Expo City. This was a set breakfast running on 3 hours of sleep. We got to the hotel at like 3 in the morning, got all sorted and had to be up at 6. So that was never gonna end well. Day 1 of the tech conference that I was speaking at was actually happening in Abu Dhabi, so we had to wake up bright and early to get a little shuttle car. And here's where it all went wrong. At this point, it dawned on me, my biggest nightmare coming to fruition. Um, I left my handbag, bag of hands, whatever you want to call it, at breakfast. You know I'm actually at the tech conference to talk about. So as I'm rolling up to the scenic St. Regis Hotel, all I'm doing is thinking, oh God, I have no arms. Which may or may not be a phrase I use quite commonly, but that's besides the point. Thankfully though, there was Maria who was an absolute queen, my savior, and she sent my arms to me in the next shuttle. Thank goodness for that. And then we were able to actually go into the conference. Another part of these events is always loads and loads and loads of interviews as well. I had to keep this in. Me and this guy were bonding over the fact that when he lived in England, he used to live in the same town as my ex-boyfriend.
I know where that is.
I'm a chronic oversharer, I can't bite my tongue, I swear. That being said though, we were still running on 3 hours sleep and the jet lag was starting to get to us a little bit near the end. After a couple more interviews and a couple more talks we sat in on, there was another bus to take us back to Dubai. Today was a great taster of what the event was all about but tomorrow is my actual talk so stay tuned for that.
