Hi everyone, it's Tilly, and welcome to, or welcome back to, my YouTube channel. As we know, back to school was quite a while ago now. My sisters have been back doing their COVID-safe online school for about 3 weeks now, and I was supposed to go back at the same time. However, there's been some delay in my schooling. I am homeschooled anyway, so the whole COVID thing didn't really affect me too much, and I've been homeschooled since September, September 2019, so I've actually been doing it a while now. It doesn't feel like that, but yeah, there's been quite some delay in my homeschooling. I think it's because with coronavirus and everything, everybody's had to go at online school. The people who have found that they work incredibly well and better doing online school and independent learning and stuff, I can only assume there's been an overwhelming of like inquiries and people enrolling into my online school. So me, the OG student of that school, was pushed aside. But I must say that I in this like 3-month break I think I've had, I am kind of starting to miss school. I never thought I'd say it. I'm actually really, really happy to be going back next week. I have a lot of organizing to do, so I just thought it would be a really fun video to take you through with me and prepare to go back to school. As you may or may not know, I was able to sit 4 GCSEs 2 years early last year, and I did that and I got my GCSE results back like 2 days ago. Very nerve-wracking. I am really, really happy with my results. I was supposed to do Spanish this month as well, which I was learning all throughout last year, but it was postponed due to COVID. GCSEs I sat last year were Business Studies, English Language, Maths Extended, and Environmental Management. I'm just gonna put it out there, I will be resitting Maths. Yeah, which I kind of expected, to be honest. I think I came on here and ranted about how hard my Maths GCSE was. Basically everything that I really, really, really hardcore revised for was non-existent, and anything that was my worst topic came up. So they really were against me in that exam. But in other news, I got a B in my worst subject, which I definitely was not expecting at all— Environmental Management. I was very happy to have got a B, not only passed that, but passed that pretty well. I passed my business, and the cherry on the cake is that I got a 9 in English Language, which is very easy to translate in different countries, different grading systems because it is, not to toot my own horn, the best grade that you can possibly get. It's like an A star star. A level 9 is exceptional and you couldn't have done any better. So as you can imagine, I was incredibly happy with that. As I said, I still need to sit my Spanish because it was postponed, and I'm gonna resit maths. I don't know exactly at which point, but I'm gonna pass it. This year I'm starting up 4 more subjects starting Monday, and they are psychology, which I'm incredibly excited about, English literature, combined science, bearing in mind I haven't done science since year 7 and I can no longer label a plant cell. So I don't know how that's gonna go, but I actually am really interested in science, so I think it's a lot easier to grasp the topic and learn a lot more from it when you are interested in it. And I really romanticized being a scientist for some reason recently. I don't want to be a scientist, and that's not my life goal, but I would feel really great being able to say, yeah, I got an A* in science, you know. So I'm going into that very motivated. And the last subject I'm going to be doing is geography. I got all of my books for the subjects, they arrived yesterday, so I'm going to talk you through what I've got to help me academically this year. Okay, so here is my psychology book. Psychology I'm really excited for. These books definitely do vary in size, like compared to the combined science I have here is huge. I'm gonna read some of the things in the content page because it really does sound exciting. In psychology, I'm going to be doing development, memory, psychological problems, the brain, neuropsychology, social influence, preparing for your exam, criminal psychology— interesting— perception, sleep and dreaming, which I've always had a big interest in, language, thought and communication. And then there's an index and a bunch of acknowledgments. Here is the biggest book I ever did see. This is Coordinated and Combined Science. I am doing combined, not coordinated. The basics because as I said, I haven't done science since year 7. Now all the subjects I've done up to this point have only had like the coursebook each, while Spanish had a coursebook and a workbook. But English literature, this course has come with a lot of books. So I've got the basic Literature in English coursebook right here, and then I've also got a book on poetry. The Song of the Shirtplates. You get it, that's full of poems. I also have Twelfth Night, a bunch of like stagecraft, characters, plays, dialogue. And then finally we've got like a little reading book thing which I guess I'll be reading throughout the course. It is The Namesake by Jhumpa Lahiri. And then finally we've got the geography book, also comes with a map. Now I'm just gonna do a little time-lapse here and show you making a list of the things that I need to complete today so I'm prepared for school. Okay, so here is the completed list. Preparing for school. This is very rough, so yeah, but we've got dispose of all the textbooks that I've got on my previous subjects, get new textbooks like as in notepads to actually do the work in because I don't have any yet. Then I've got to label the books as to what subject they are, order some stationery, so like highlighters, pens. I might do that online. Then I've got to organize my Zoom call introductions with my teachers. Then I need to plot my assignment schedule in the calendar. I need to organize my drawers just with all the course books and everything. And then I might do some planning on Notion. I think I'm gonna get the emailing my teachers out the way first just so they can have more time to respond as well. I just need to pick a date with each of my teachers for each subject and yeah, pick a date so that we can talk it through. I've got my laptop, so cue the time-lapse again. I'm gonna do that now. Also, to the people who don't know how I type and want to know how I type, this can be for you as well. Okay, so I've just planned a couple of Zoom calls. One got back already. Shout out to my English literature teacher, she seems really nice. And I'm gonna have a Zoom call with her at 2, so I can take you guys along with that as well. But obviously I'll mute it because she's just gonna be talking through the course. And now I've got my assignment schedule up and I'm just plotting that into my calendar, as I said I was gonna do earlier. So here's just to get a gist of my calendar. So here's January, I've got nothing because I stopped on the 25th, which is Monday. And then over here is my first, is this science assignment, and so on, so forth. I've got like pretty much all of August off as well for summer holidays, which I don't remember getting last year. I was still doing at least something because I remember being stressed. Yeah, I've got all the other assignments. Oh, she's typing. I'm just gonna ask you. Hi, can you hear me? Yep. Yes, I can't hear you. Oh, the microphone's on. It might be my end. Tells me you are a bit of an internet star. I mean, I wouldn't quite go to the lengths of saying an internet star thing because I wear bionic arms. That's what these are. I can see. Yeah, incredibly difficult. The, the prose piece you got is an extract from. Anything else? Um, no, I think I'm good to go. That was the only question I really had. Okay, you too. Thank you so much. Thank you. Nice to meet you. Bye. Hey everyone, again, so as you just saw there, I had my Zoom call with my English literature teacher. That was the first time of me and my mom meeting her, and she seemed lovely. She was really nice, honestly, and we were just chatting for a bit as well, just things that aren't about school because it's good to just get to know each other. So I had that call, but I also filled in my calendar. I was having this problem where only my subjects from last year were showing up on my school website calendar thing, but I figured it out and I've put all my assignment schedule into the actual school calendar so I can see that all the time I'm at school to know what assignment that I need to submit next and exactly when. So that's good. My mom has nipped to the shop. She was doing the food shop anyway, but she's gonna go and get me a notebook for each of my subjects. I would have went with her and vlogged, but COVID over here, it means that only one person from each household can actually go to the shops legally, so I couldn't go. But she's going to do that for me. Thank you, Mom. Hey, there's me. I've also now set my school link as a bookmark for easy access. I do want to show you actually something else that I got for this academic year, which will hopefully help me a lot. It is these Blue light glasses. If anybody follows me— I look so cute right now, can we just— I love glasses so much. I don't understand how some people don't like glasses. I think they're so cute, like I actually needed some in my life. I'm on Snapchat a lot, which I've actually just made public, so if you want to go add me on Snapchat, it's just @TillyLockey on Snapchat, and my story is public so you can see daily shenanigans that I get up to. But there's a filter on Snapchat where it's basically glasses like exactly like these, and It quickly became my favorite filter. I used it all the time, like it was an obsession for a while. Like, you need to have this filter, it's so cute. I loved it. Or maybe just because my obsession with glasses is coming through, but I was buzzing. I got these for Christmas because I just think they're really cute and they're not just fake either. They're blue light glasses, so they basically stop me from getting headaches whenever I'm looking at my screen, which I do an awful lot because I'm doing online school where I'm constantly looking at my screen and then looking down, like squinting to write. And then looking back at the screen, and then also filming and editing, which I do like 24/7, is all online, and I'm looking at a screen constantly. So this will definitely help me a lot because I was getting so many headaches, it was ridiculous. So hopefully these will help with that, but even if they don't, like, these just look cute. They look so cute. Anyway, enough of that ranting. Now I'm just gonna go on Amazon, I think, and I'll show you guys. I'm just gonna look for some kind of stationery, like highlighters or certain pens that people recommend and are good if I'm going to be writing non-stop. Based off of that English literature call I've just had, it's always fun to get some new stationery, isn't it? Okay guys, this is not on— this is not on the topic of school at all. I got distracted. We love that. But now, something that I have been thinking about recently is that I want one of these things. I've been seeing these light-up projector sky things everywhere. I've seen people who make like cloud ceilings with them, which I think look really, really cool. I definitely want to revamp my bedroom. I want to do it kind of— I'll just show you a picture of what I want to do. I really want to do something like— I love this kind of vibe. I want like loads of neon lights and just cover my wall. In neon lights. Like, how sick would that be? I think walking into there and having that— having that be your bedroom would be the sickest thing ever, and I'm gonna make it a reality. I mean, let me know your thoughts. Do you think this would look cool? I mean, I know I definitely want to do it anyway. Let me know what you think. It got dark really quick, but we have books. I've got a black one. A nice blue teal one, a pink one, and a lovely grey one. I have some labels which I'm going to stick on each book designated to each topic. I think I know what colours I'm gonna go for which. I'm also watching Jack Whitehall Travels with My Father. I'm obsessed with that show, like so much it's unhealthy, but it's like really good and I'm just gonna watch that while This camera is not on a tripod, it's literally balancing on my lamp, but I'm gonna watch some of this while I label my books. Hi guys, so I think I'm gonna wrap this video up here. I got a lot done, and as you could see, it's very dark now. I've literally got my phone like shining a torch on me right now because otherwise it's literally pitch black. But I hope you enjoyed this video. I feel very I feel very much more prepared to go into my next academic year now, and I'm very happy that I was able to fit a Skype call in. I've organized for two others, so that'll be really, really good. I haven't heard from my geography teacher yet, so I need to wait on her to get to me so I can arrange a thing with her because I don't have her email. I hope you enjoyed this video. Make sure to like, comment, and subscribe if you did. Hit the notification bell, and yeah, I will see you all next time. Bye!
