Tina Corner Stolzl founded LX Council, a monthly peer group for CEOs and business leaders. The council moves members through three levels of knowledge: opinion from peers, science through actionable how-to steps, and illumination, the "aha" moment that reveals the core issue.

I'm Tina Corner Stolzl, founder of Leader Exchange Council, or LX Council as it's known. And what is LX Council? LX Council is a national peer-to-peer membership organization where CEOs, owners, principals, managers get together once a month in a confidential environment in order to share their challenges, opportunities, and insights with each other. And it's held by a skilled moderator. But what really is LX Council? And I'm going to use something from an ancient Roman philosopher who stated that knowledge has 3 degrees. The first degree is opinion, the second degree is science, and the third is illumination. And what does that mean in regards to being involved with a peer advisory council? What it means is when you are there in your meeting, you're going to get one degree, the opinion. So the opinion, perspectives, and insights of the other peers around the table on your particular situation. You're going to give your opinion, perspective, and insight to the other peers as well. And that's just one level though, because after that, how is it that you have then the science? And the science is the how-to. How do you implement? How do you make happen and get results from from what those insights were that you received. The final level that most CEOs and leaders don't get to is the illumination piece. And illumination is the aha moment, the real true insight into actually what really is the core issue or the challenge or that opportunity. And it's what does it really mean? It's the aha moment. It's what we call at LX Council epiphanies. And we are in the business of creating epiphanies every day. And so where we are more effective is in this process of opinion to science all the way through to elimination.
