In a CBS Los Angeles interview timed for Earth Day, feng shui consultant and author Tisha Morris promotes her new book Mind Body Home: Transform Your Life One Room at a Time while showcasing a curated selection of eco‑friendly household items. She explains how each product aligns with feng shui principles and environmental stewardship: a Boston fern for air purification; undyed natural‑fiber placemats; reusable cloth napkins; dye‑free pet toys; paraffin‑ and lead‑free tea‑light candles; a self‑formulated energy‑clearing spray that replaces sage; a reclaimed‑wood cutting board that doubles as a presentation platter; and a bamboo Turkish tablecloth that offers renewable luxury. Throughout the conversation, Morris emphasizes simplicity, the “reduce‑reuse‑recycle” mantra, and the health benefits of choosing natural, low‑manufacturing products for both people and pets.

Consultant Tisha Morris's new book is called Mind Body Home: Transform Your Life One Room at a Time. Tisha joins us now to share some tips. So Tisha, you always know you're talking about feng shui when you see a little bit of red on the table.
Yes.
Tell me about some of the products that you have here.
Sure. So, you know, it's easy to get overwhelmed with environmental issues and how to save the planet, but you can just really do— make it easy by starting your own home and just taking care of your own space. And so using eco-friendly products is, is a great way to start. So plants is a, is an easy way, not only makes, clears the energy in your house, but it looks great. So here I have a Boston fern, which happens to be one of the best air purifiers you can possibly have in your home.
So any amount of plants to have in your home? I mean, is there kind of too much you can have in your house?
Well, it's really, when it comes to plants, it's hard to have too many. But, you know, it doesn't, doesn't take a lot. For example, just having this in the corner in your kitchen actually will help the off-gassing from your stove, for example. So it doesn't take a lot.
Now, are these placemats right here?
Yeah, so these are made out of natural fibers, and the key with these is that there's no dyes involved. And so there's— the less manufacturing that goes into making a product, the healthier it's going to be for you and your home.
And they look really nice too.
I mean, the way they're— they're great for indoor, outdoor. That's the thing with eco-friendly products is they not only are functional, but they can look really great in your house too.
That's a good point too. You can take them outdoors as well. And what about these?
These are just Yeah, these are reusable cloth napkins, and so, you know, why not use cloth napkins? And it's gonna make your dining experience more fun, and it's eco-friendly as well.
Yeah, easy to wash them. Exactly. And reuse them. And then I was wondering, what is this?
Well, you can't forget about the pets. They need eco-friendly products as well. Oh, okay. And so if you think about a lot of the toy, dog toys that have all the dyes, and they're chewing on these dyes, and so using more natural products with no dyes is healthier for them.
And they look pretty tough too for that, uh— pet to bite through.
That's right.
It's like they won't have a good time with that. And then some of these candles as well, these are all natural?
Yeah, so you want to be mindful of what you're burning in your home. A lot of candles that are on the market put out very toxic fumes, and so these, for example, are some nice tea lights you can use. They're paraffin-free, they're lead-free, and so they burn a lot cleaner in your house. So candles can do the same thing.
And they smell good too.
That's right.
And then what is this, a certain kind of spray?
Yes, so this is a spray you use for your home. This is actually a formula that I developed myself, and it clears the energy in your home as opposed to burning sage, again, to kind of cut down on the smoke off-gassing in your house.
So maybe a good idea to do it in your kitchen or, you know, your living room or something.
Yes, yes.
And then the— this board right here?
Yeah, so, you know, anytime you can use sustainable products or renewable products, for example, this is a cutting board that can also be used as a presentation for your food as well. So you can use, you know, one thing for two purposes., and this is actually from reclaimed wood. So again, the reduce, reuse, recycle mantra, that's a great place to start when you think about eco-friendly products.
And I'm noticing this tablecloth.
Is this part of it as well? Yes, it is. This is actually Turkish, a Turkish cloth, which gives that kind of a classic look to your table, but it's also made of bamboo, and bamboo is a renewable resource. So, good to go.
