The Water Element

Tisha Morris explores water in Feng Shui and astrology, recorded at Temescal Canyon at high tide. In Feng Shui, water symbolizes money and fortune; in astrology, it represents emotion. Too much water overwhelms a home and mirrors emotional excess, while calm water soothes fiery personalities.

Hi everyone, this is Tisha with earthhome.tv and welcome to my new show, Feng Shui Fridays. I am really excited to launch this new cast because I'm actually getting out from behind my computer and going to take you to some really cool places. And I thought I would start it off with one of my favorite places right here, Temescal Canyon. This is actually— we're here at high tide. And I thought it'd be appropriate because that's kind of the astrology that we're in right now is high tide. Lots of water going on, lots of signs and lots of planets in my sign of Cancer. So we're getting a little— about to get a little bit waterlogged. I'm loving it. I'm used to the water emotionally, physically. So anyway, I want to talk about water, and I want to talk about water It can be a little confusing because water in Western astrology takes on a different meaning as water in Feng Shui. And Feng Shui, which comes out of Chinese medicine and Taoism, is my expertise and my main thing. So water is a huge, huge part of Feng Shui. It's actually— the word Shui in Feng Shui actually is water. Feng Shui is wind and water. And in Feng Shui, water is considered money and fortune, very fortuitous to have around, and it's what you look for in finding a place to live. That's what Feng Shui was originally based on, actually to find where you're going to be buried, and then where you're going to be living, where you're going to live in your next life, I guess. But water is money, and in Feng Shui you you look to where the wind and the water shape the land, and that's like coastal areas or cities on coastal areas have better feng shui than inland cities, generally speaking. But of course there's lakes and rivers as well that can— the water element comes in naturally. But it's also important to have some water in your home. But like anything in feng shui, it's all about balance. So you can definitely have too much of a good thing, and water is definitely one of those because it is a bit of a fine line. Because while it is money in feng shui, it's emotions in our collective consciousness and in psychology, in our dream and our dream states. It's very much emotions, and that's the energy it takes on in astrology. The water signs are the emotional ones, and so too much water in your house can not be a good thing. And it could be high tide like this. And so the water elements show up in a number of ways in addition to just literal water. But you know, it's also, it's like I said, everything is in balance when it comes to feng shui and using things in your house. Because when water is, is at a calmer state, like in a lake or even on low tide, it has a very calming effect. And it's really good for fiery people that need a little bit of a calming down. And so knowing how much water you need from an elemental perspective and bringing that into your home, or if you live near water, you already have some of that going for you. But if you don't, bringing some of the water element into your house. And then if you're having water issues like leaks, leaky pipes, leaky toilet, all those has to do with repressed emotions and not dealing with emotions. So there's that part too. So I want to keep today's video short and sweet, and because my tagline is helping you find your flow while on the go, so I need to assume you're on the go and just want to watch a quick video. But anyway, I'd love to hear your feedback in the comments if there's anything that you want me to focus on or talk about about, I'm happy to cover it in future episodes. So don't get too pulled into the tide during this Cancer-heavy month, and use the water in nice doses to cool yourself off, especially in the summer if you're on this side of the planet. And I will see you somewhere else next week. All right, thanks so much.
