Hey, thank you so much for having me, Todd. And thank you everybody for listening. I hope you get something really great out of this interview.
Oh, I have no doubt this, they're in for a treat today with you. By the way, in the interest of full disclosure, Brad is a fellow Phoenician from down the street. For those that may not know, that's Arizona, it's Phoenix. Brad, how long have you been out? I know that you are. They aren't native, but how long have you been out in the Phoenix area?
So Jasmine and I just moved here a couple years ago, August of 21st. So now it's June of 2023. So a little over two years. We've loved to hear. It's been one of those things, like growing up in New York and then living in California. It's just an entirely different environment than I ever thought I'd live in. Like, I can remember we used to have a beach house on Long island and my cousins would come visit and they lived in Phoenix. And I would talk about the weather with them. They're like, yeah, it gets up to like 115, 120. I'm like, I couldn't believe that. I'm like, I would never live in a place like that. And, you know, life happens here. You are. But yeah, it's been great. It's been an incredible opportunity to have a different sense of community and nature and get out into the desert and just feel that kind of energy. And it's been beautiful. I love it.
Brad, I'm looking forward. I know you and I are both hiking nerds. I'm looking forward to inviting you up to our house to do a hike. The hiking trail starts on the driveway. And I don't want to make you feel jealous. I'm just doing a humble brag. It is 10 degrees cooler up here in the mountains. And so, like, since we moved up here, I keep feeling like there's something wrong with Phoenix. Cause it's chilly up here. But look, you are a founding member of the Knowledge Broker Blueprint. Many of you may know it as kbb. And you were speaking. You were speaking and a training team lead with Tony and Dean Graziosi. And so take me back to that. Like, take me back to the beginning days of KBB and how you have helped people launch their own Masterminds over the years.
Yeah, so I'll kind of back up a little bit more. So I'll give you the high points. So I went to an event called Mastermind to millions in 2016, run by one of my mentors and friends, Jay Fisette. And prior to that, I'd been a part of Masterminds. I loved being a part of Masterminds. I joined a bunch and they had changed my life. And I really believed in that power of curated networking, of clarity, of hot seats, which allowed me to give up drinking. It allowed me to get my life turned around, allowed me to do my first million dollar month in business. It was like a really transformative thing and I was still missing that sense of fulfillment in a certain way. And I felt like since I love Masterminds as a participant so much, I felt like I could run one. And that event finally gave me the kick in the butt to go do it. And the first thing I did was I reached out to a gentleman who I'd met at that event. His name is Michael. Shout out to Michael Quinn, who was really successful at Amazon. And he had been selling salt and pepper shakers and, you know, cat tunnels, just like random products on Amazon. And he's making like 100 grand a month, him and his family running this business. And he's working like five hours a week. And the rest of the time he was spending on his boat and power, power gliding and all this cool stuff. So I'm like, hey, man, show me your ways. He's like, sure, I'll coach you. I'm like, how much? He's like, 30 grand. I'm like, okay, cool. I could pay 30 grand. But let me ask you something. Do you have other people that want to learn this from you? He said, yes. I said, great. Do they all have 30 grand to invest in coaching? No, they do not. Interesting. Even if they did, would you want to coach them all? He says, no. The whole reason I built this business was so that I could have a lot of time and not have to work all the time. I said, great. What if we did something else? What if we built a Mastermind around you? I'll market and sell the Mastermind. I'll enroll everybody into the Mastermind. We'll go to China and Hong Kong to the product fairs, just like you always do. We'll make a fun trip out of it, and you train them for six weeks on the way up, and we'll do that. So he agreed, and we put a little group together on Facebook, and we did a little pitch. And within three weeks or two weeks, I had, like, $35,000 raised, and we had enough to get moving. And we ended up bringing 52 people to China and Hong Kong. And on the back of that, some amazing things happened. So, like, if I would have learned from Michael, I'm sure I would have learned a lot. And, you know, you kind of got to know your own learning style. Like, one on one is great, but it doesn't really scale. And what ended up happening on the trip was people asked better questions than I would ask. They took better notes, and I would have taken. And ultimately, I gained more knowledge and connections than I would have gained having just worked with Michael one on one. So we created all this abundance for all these people, right? All this amazing information, knowledge shared. And I ended up launching, with two partners, an Amazon marketing agency that went from zero to $75,000 a month in recurring revenue in about six months after that. So it was a really powerful way to not necessarily be the expert, but use the mastermind formula, to travel for free, to learn from the experts I wanted to learn from and to get paid to do it the entire way, all while building this network that was centered around a specific thing that I wanted to create. And that really became, like, my hack in life. And I decided to start teaching this to others. And that's where the book came from. That's where all of these learning came from. So fast forward a little bit. I decided to launch my program, right? That business did okay. I. I ended up selling my share to my partners, and I walked away from that because I really wanted to do this Mastermind thing. Like, I really have something here, you know, because all my friends that had been really successful in the education space had always picked a niche, right? They'd always planted their flag. So I was like, okay, what's my flag going to be? I think Masterminds could be it. So I decided to go all in on this, and I launched a program called Build a Mastermind. I think we did, like, 115 or $120,000 in sales in a very short amount of time. Like, in the first hundred days. It was really exciting. It was working and people were getting results and I could share some of those stories, and I will go on and on, but the upshot of that was I was on the radar on Masterminds. And then when Dean And Tony started mastermind.com, everybody's saying, oh, you should all talk. One of my clients at the time, AJ Said, hey, you should look at this. So I reached out to Dean, who I'd met before, and he didn't get back to me for a week. He's a pretty busy guy. And we finally got back to me, he's like, hey, what do you want to do together? And we ended up talking and he's like, hey, I think we could do this and that and the other thing. So, long story short, I ended up becoming an affiliate. I was top 25 the first year and top 10 the second year. I think I came in eighth place at like 5,000 affiliates. The second year, I got selected with Pete Vargas help to be one of five speakers that was selected out of a thousand speakers to go and travel around and speak from stage and sell kbb. And then additionally, we were able to, with Pete and the whole team, run these workshops. So the first few workshops they had at their big office here in Phoenix, their brand new office we ran to. And then take a guess what happened right after that. The entire world shut down. Yeah. So everything that we were planning to do, all the travel, all the speaking engagements, all the tours we were training up to do, it just kind of fell away. And they adopted a different model and they ended up impacting more people. And it was very uncertain time. Like, Tony didn't have that 40 foot soundstage. He didn't have that whole 40 million, the $20 million that he spent on that. You know, Dean wasn't the CEO of the company at that point. They were just partnered up. It was like a whole bunch of stuff changed in the intervening years, and all our business blew up for a while and then leveled out and I launched my book. It was just a whole bunch of things happened. So we ended up not continuing along in that path. But I was really grateful to those guys. I learned a lot from them. And I filled in any gaps in my knowledge on masterminds that, you know, I learned from the Masters as well as hundreds and hundreds of clients, thousands of people we've helped indirectly launching their own. So I feel like at this point, since Tony and Dean have now pivoted away to a more general business and online business, we're kind of the only game in town that's really doing this big. So to put just a bow on the story, that original event, I went to Mastermind of Millions with Jay. Now we're partnered on that event. We ran our first one in March and we did really well with it. So we're going to keep doing that twice a year. It's been really fun.
So, hey, that's super. I love those kind of stories. I'm quite familiar with their office, Masterminds headquarters in Scottsdale, on Scottsdale Road. I actually was hired to go in there and do some videos for Dean and Tony over a day. We just cranked out a ton of content there. And it's interesting how, how somebody can come up with a Mastermind. And it's something they've been selling at a large number to like one person or one company at a time time. And they can divide that price up into individual seats and still make more than what they would have if they were selling it to an individual company. Is that something common that you see?
Yeah. So our entire program is like, we want to get you to six figures in profit and about 5, 10 hours a month of ongoing work. And when people hear that, they're incredulous. Right. But it's not really that crazy. It's not magic. It's just math. Right. You have 10 clients paying you a grand a month over a year. That's 120 grand. And, you know, figure 20,000 for expenses. It doesn't cost a lot to run a Mastermind, especially a virtual one. That's easy, right? And people have taken this concept to the tens of millions of dollars. I'm in a In one called 100M with Dan Fleischman, where everybody's paying 100 grand, there's 100 members, and they're spending it all on crazy experiences and trips. And it's $10 million mastermind. I mean, the sky's the limit really, with the model.
So what's great about this is you just quickly expose to people that you don't have to have a ginormous brain and a framework and have reinvented the wheel in your industry or niche. You can also be giving people experiences. Like to give you an idea, experiences, education.
Go ahead, please. Yeah, give an example.
One of my buddies just became a couple years ago the president of the Major League Baseball hall of Fame. And my entrepreneurial brain. By the way, anybody that wants to listen to that interview, he's in the Todcast somewhere, look up Josh Rawitz. And my entrepreneurial brain was like, I Could do a mastermind where I take people to the hall of fame to get a tour from, you know, totally whore out my friend experience and make it, you know, that's how the entrepreneurial brain works. But like, what's interesting is any of you in the audience could be thinking about if you don't have a framework, if you haven't reinvented the wheel, what about an experience or teach something that you know and love or there's like an infinite number of ways that you could create a mastermind, don't you think?
Yeah, it really is the most versatile and least, for lack of a better word, brain damaged model I've ever done. You know, I've written the books, I've done the funnels, I've done the courses and the memberships and the, you know, the events and all this to spend all the money, done all the things over 10 plus years we've been in business now and this is the model we keep coming back to. Because my favorite way to get people together, it's high impact, high touch, high income, it doesn't take up any of your time, you don't have a lot of overhead or inventory. It's a very relationally built business. And what's crazy is we have a pretty large list, like a lot of people, hundreds of thousands of people have looked at our emails over the years and you know, we, we have a really engaged list. And the crazy part is I went to do a mastermind where it was just for investors one time, right? Just as a give back to the community. It was invite only and you had to have a verifiable seven figure net worth to be in the room, right? And I brought in all my billionaire, somebody who had done 400 exits, somebody who had done 5.2 billion in exits and helped craft incredible work and people that were experts in life insurance and stock market and trading and, and valuing businesses like all this stuff. Anyway, so we do this mastermind and I made a list of 300 people that I knew for a fact had that, that kind of net worth or bigger, right? And this room was stacked is really awesome. And we ended up doing it Joe Polish's office here in Tempe. And it was great. And Dan came out and spoke and a bunch of really great people came out and spoke. But the point of the story is that the 300 people that I identified in my network, I thought a lot of them I would have met through all this Internet marketing I've been doing. People that have read my books, people that have come to our events and all that. But the reality was like 90% of them I had met through masterminds. And that kind of shocked me because I thought, well, it would like at least be a 60, 40 or a 50, 50. But no, 90% of those people I'd met through masterminds. And it wasn't because there aren't those people on my list, but it's because you can't interact with them and build deep relationships with them on that level. Right. And it's not somebody that you would think of day to day because they're, they're not actively engaged always. You know, they're kind of lurking, they're reading, they're aware of you, but they're not really in your orbit. So when we went to put that mastermind together and I started reaching out to these people, I was like, this is really wild. You know, if you want to shortcut success. Like, for example, I'm getting interested in real estate again. I've done real estate in the past. I'm going to start doing some real estate deals again here pretty soon and reactivating some of these incredible real estate relationships I built over the years. Like, I know somebody who's done $27 billion in SBA loans. They're the top lender in the country. I know people that routinely buy thousands of acres. I know people that convert residential to commercial and commercial to residential. I know people that do land deals. I know people that do skyscrapers. It's like everybody who I've met over the years, I can just activate because I've met them and I've added value to them. We've built a relationship, we've had fun together. And now whatever I want to get into, there's a, there's a path forward. Like, nothing seems impossible because I've been part of these masterminds over the years. So it's like they, this is the number one thing. If I had to throw everything else out and start from scratch. Everybody always asks, you know, if you had to start with just the knowledge and none of the money or whatever else, I would start with masterminds, because this is like the one hack. And if you run the masterminds, in addition to joining them, which I recommend you do, both, you can have a really exceptional network very quickly. And the exceptional network is what creates exceptional opportunities. People don't have a belief in themselves and what's possible because they're not surrounded by people who are routine, routinely doing things that you would consider out of the ordinary. Or extraordinary. Right. If you're surrounded by, we grew up in an era, you know, you're about my age, maybe within a year or two. We grew up in an era where if you didn't grow up within 20 or 30 minutes of somebody, you never met them. And if you grew up in a low income or low opportunity area, that was your world. You didn't have the Internet, you didn't have Instagram to go look and be like, oh, how is the other half living? You might have heard about it on TV or. But it wasn't really real to you. That was some other place. Right. The same way, like, we don't really, if we're in a nice area, we don't really, we can't really understand the plight that somebody's having in like sub Saharan Africa or a war torn country. Like, we really can't understand that. So nowadays we have this opportunity to bring these communities together more so than ever and see what's possible. And that starts by expanding what's possible within the people in your network. And if you're in, you know, if you're the smartest person in the room, you got to be in a different room.
Yeah, I totally get that. When in my last mastermind, there were people that were, if we're doing it at, at 9 in the morning Pacific time, there are people in Australia at 2 and 3 in the morning that have changed their schedules in order to be a part of the mastermind because they're hungry to learn. One of the great things about the people you end up meeting in a mastermind is these are all people committed to taking the fast path. Like, there's a lot of people that take the slow path that are like, yo, I'll figure this all out on my own. I'm a smart dude. I'll listen to Todd's next podcast and it'll all make sense. But what that really ends up becoming smart, frugal, as you might be saying to yourself, oh, I'm smart, frugal, I'll figure it out. Is really stupid frugal, because in the long run you figured it out when you could just hire somebody to teach you quickly and get on the fast path. Path. And that's what I love about what you're doing. I love the eight minute Mastermind. Tell me, for those that don't know, like, what are they getting out of the eight Minute Mastermind and how can they use this to help them take their next first step in getting comfortable with masterminds?
Yeah. And first things first. If you want to grab the book, it's a free plus shipping offer. So you just pay six bucks, I think, to get it anywhere in the world. It's at 8minutemastermind.com so you can go grab it. There's. But they have been a mastermind book really centers around stories of how I built one of the largest masterminds in San Diego. It's kind of like the through line of the whole book. And then it gives you practical, tactical advice on how to travel anywhere for free, how to learn from experts, how to become an expert yourself, how to solve problems, how to gain clarity, and how to add $100,000 in profit to your business in five to 10 hours a month of ongoing delivery. And it gives you very practical tactical advice on how to do that. Now, the. The book is the only way we work with people. Obviously, we have a program. We even have a done for you that we kind of partner up occasionally with people if they're. If they're really, like, in the position, like maybe a Todd or somebody is where they've got a big list, but they're just crunched for time. They can write a big check. They can hire my team. We'll come in and we'll start, you know, marketing, selling, figuring out the mastermind.
You'd be okay if I wrote you a big check?
Yeah, I'd be all right with that. I can make it work.
All right.
I've struggled.
Just want to make sure.
Yeah, yeah. And. And that's, you know, something we do on occasion just to, you know, because we want to.
Right.
We want to partner with people who are doing something incredible, but they don't want to figure all this stuff out from scratch. And the biggest myth going is that masterminds cost time and money, but the reality is they save you both time and money. Right. They save you time and being able to get better results in quicker amount of time because you're freeing yourself from the tyranny of the how. You're getting connected with the who and getting clear on the what needs to happen in order to make it happen. And they save you money because, you know, yeah, you might pay to be in the mastermind, but you might make a million dollars. You might save a million dollars from having those connections and not having to figure it out. And the way things are moving, how quickly industries are changing, every business is set to be completely transformed in the next three to five years. There's no industry that you could be in right now that will be stagnant and stable. In the next three to five years, even something as boring as toilet paper, here come Japanese toilets. Right, Right. It's like there's just something else on the horizon that's going to change your world. AI is going to shift a lot of things. And only 13% of the population is even familiar with AI. I hear about AI every day in the networks I'm part of. Same thing with crypto and blockchain. Like, there's so much coming that if you're not on the cutting edge, you're, you're literally, you're, you're sleepwalking through the most valuable time with the most opportunity in history to create the biggest impact. More wealth will be created in the next 10 to 20 years than has been created in the, like, last 100 or 200 years. By far. It's not even close because of the leverage we have today.
And so that's really like, I love that and I see the transformation. I've lived it. A couple years ago, my first Mastermind, we did about $180,000 in sales. And I was like, hey, that was pretty easy. And I would have been telling one person about this strategy and teaching and training them, but instead I just did it for 40 people that paid really well to be in that room. And then I got to be a part of their transformation and hear their stories and made new friends. I just, I just did a, I did a guest appearance on somebody's Mastermind yesterday. They're in London. And when I got into the Mastermind, and by the way, this is just somebody that I met at a speaking event that reached out to me and was like, I'd love to have you come in. Add value. I added value. And. But when, as soon as the everybody's zoom cameras were on, I was like, oh my God, these are all these people that were in my Mastermind group. And so as, and this is what's so great about it is there's a whole community of people out there like minded that are paying to learn things quickly so they can implement it and change their life. And I don't know, I just think it's a remarkable time. Even college is becoming obsolete.
Oh yeah. Why would you go to college when you can learn from people who are actually doing something? Like, the most heartbreaking conversation I ever had was going to a marketing professor and saying, oh, where did you market? And I was expecting them to say some Fortune 500 company. And they're like, oh, I've never held a marketing job. I'm like, how the Fuck. Do you get to market or teach marketing? You've never done it. It's just crazy to think about. But this is the state of the world today. You know, we're saddling kids up with hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt. We're while simultaneously convincing them somehow that 5 or 10 or 25,000 is too much to spend to get the exact result from the exact person who can get you that result. It's absurd, you know, with the community to support you, all you have to do is show up and do what they're doing and. And you can get that result as well if you're dedicated. I'm not saying it's easy. It's definitely work. But it's like shoveling around in the dark and spending 30 years at a job you hate to retire with a gold watch and a bunch of debt and kids that hate you because you're never around. That's work, too. So pick your work, right? Pick your suck.
There's two pains that we live with when we want to accomplish goals in our lives. The first one is the pain of regret. Oh, I should have done this. I could have. I wish I could have. If I only did. The second pain is the pain of discipline. And I'll be the first to tell you, I'm a really bad version of me with regret. But I'm the best version of me. When I lean in and I'm all about discipline and I get excited, and then I see the new growth and transformation, and before you know it, I'm, like, knocking down things that I only dreamt of before. So always choose either pain or regret. That's. Excuse me. Pain. Sorry. Regret or discipline. Those are your choices. Hey, dude, One of the things that's interesting about you is that I see that there's, like, this mindset and commitment to excellence that's in you. And, like, where does that come from? Like, how do you remind yourself or fire yourself up to never stop being the best version of you?
I have the blessing of being surrounded by people who are way crazier than I am. Really, I say that with all love and respect. Like, I just interviewed my dear friend, like, one of my best friends in the world, Akshay Nadavati, who is literally prepping to be the first person to cross Antarctica on foot. Like, that's the kind of people I'm hanging out with. You know, not just the people making eight figures, not just the people who have made tons of money or gone done crazy stuff, but, like, people that are truly pushing the bounds of what it is to be a human being doing things that were never, ever possible before. And being in mastermind groups. You know, there's always some, like, interesting people have interesting friends. So you're always surrounding yourself with people who have gone deep down these rabbit holes or gone to the highest heights in any industry. And it just becomes this, like, it's no longer a sense of, can you do it? It's like, all right, what do I focus on? Because I could do a lot of things now. It's like, okay, how do I decide? And I think that's the bigger problem that most people have. Maybe there's a belief issue moves, a mindset issue, reality sets in. It's like, you have unlimited possibilities. What are you going to actually focus on? What do you actually want? And can you stick with it long enough to get. Get those results? Because I believe anything's possible. So you asked me, like, how do I stay motivated? It's what's part discipline, and that's, you know, that willpower is the first thing. Every day I'm up at like 4 to 5am you know, I'm doing my work, I'm reading. I'm getting, like. I'm just getting recertified for scuba, even though I did 10 years ago and never put it in Patty. I'm like, all right, got to do this in a. In a short amount of time before I go back to Hawaii and I want to go diving again. And, you know, like, that was my morning, and I would take my dog for a walk for it get too hot. I. I'm getting in my cold plunge. And guess what? Always dreaded, never regretted, right? I always don't want to get in the cold plunge. And I always feel better after I do. And then I sit in the sunshine for a minute and I dry off and I warm up, and then I go for a run or go to the gym. It's like, it's just getting myself into that state every day, no matter what. Even if, like, I end up scrapping my day at noon. If something terrible happens, something horrible happens, I know I got my best work in before that happened, because I only really prioritize three to five things a day that will actually move the needle and create an impact in our business and in the people in my life. And that's. That's what's most important to me. It's not about working forever. Like, I watched this great video the other day by a guy named Rion that works with Rion Doran. I think his Name is he works with Steven kotler. He bought consulting.com from Sam Ovens.
Yep.
And he's just talking about like he got more productive as he gave himself less time to work and he was able to trigger flow states. Like those are the two things that really put it over the top for him. And I'm like, it's really true. It's not about working harder. People look at, you know, entrepreneurship and all these different pieces like working harder. It's like, no, it's mostly identifying the things that need to happen that are actually going to move the needle forward and then getting those things done. And then when you notice something is working really well, having the courage to put a 0 or 2 zeros on the end of it and just 10x or 100x your output or your leverage or build a team around it or put money behind it. Like I had a client, Chris, in the Mastermind program. He's been in it for five years now. We work together. He's a great guy. We just did a, we did a 10 day tour across New Zealand and just a seven day tour around the four corner states on motorcycles. So like we're friends now. But when he first started, he was a washed out cop. He had burned out of the forest due to ptsd. Became a personal trainer to still help cops because he still wanted to be involved in that community and he just wasn't getting it done financially. So he joined our Mastermind program because he wanted to help cops. He's like, I don't know if I can start a mastermind for cops. I don't know if they'll be interested in this, but I'm like, let's give it a try, right? What do you have to lose? So he joined the program. He didn't know anything about marketing business, any of it. Like he had imposter syndrome and no skills and a ton of mindset issues, as you would expect. But he kept at it and we just kept him taking action, right? Just small bits of action, barring our confidence in order to take the action to get the evidence himself, which bred more confidence for him. So over that year he got over 100 clients as mastermind. And here's the crazy part. He was adding people through Instagram and doing Instagram ads. He's getting $9 for every dollar he was spending on Instagram. Now if you've ever run ads in your life, that's an absurd number. Like that's a printing press. Like if you have a machine where a dollar goes in and $9 comes out on the other end. You better be looking in your couch cushions for change. You better be taking out loans, maxing out credit.
Shove everything through that machine you possibly can into that.
And that's why I told them. But his mindset wasn't there yet. He didn't either feel worthy of it, or he didn't feel equal to it, or he's worried that it would just stop and he would get, you know, foot with the bill, whatever it was. And, you know, like I said, the windows of opportunity continue to close. It's no longer that big of an opportunity. Other competitors stepped in. The market shifted. What have you. Instagram ads change. Like, when all those forces align and something happens, you got to get after it. I mean, he's had 600 clients now go through his program, which is an incredible, you know, track record in five years. It's awesome. It's like one of my best case studies and success stories. But had he really gone big, he could have a thousand or five thousand clients, right? He could add 10,000 clients. Who knows, you know, so that's really the thing is you have to have the courage when all the things line up where your preparation meets your opportunity. You know, we call it luck, but that's really what it is when your preparation meets your opportunity to go all in and 10x and 20x and 50x and 100x your effort and to hire the team and go big and raise the money, whatever you're going to do, because the window is closing, and you only need to be really right once. And then you just need to survive long enough to catch those moments and really capitalize on them.
Absolutely, brother. You know, Tony. Tony Robbins always says to me, success leaves clues. And what you just explained has a lot to do with being. Being courageous enough. When you see the clue to recognize, you should double down in it and not allow an imposter syndrome, or not allow having. Not having an audience get in the way. What do you say to people, like, if they're like, hey, I got this great mastermind, Brad, but, like, I don't even have an audience. How do you give them guidance if there's a market there to go find that audience?
Yeah. And I always tell people the idea is kind of 1% of the thing. It's all execution, right? It's all getting in front of people, talking to people. In the beginning, if you think you have an idea, that's gonna be the idea. It's probably not right? So I always tell people, get in front of people. Do the market research. Transition those people to sales calls, enroll them into the mastermind, customize it as much as you need to until a pattern emerges and you can serve more people with less and, like, really build it into a streamlined offer. But even the most successful people I know, like, I love Cole Gordon. He's a great example of this. When he came out of traffic and funnels, he was their top sales guy. He'd done like 4 million in sales in 18 months, right? And we met about that time. He was shirtless in my kitchen closing a $15,000 sale on his cell phone that just randomly came in. And I'm like, watching this guy close his sale. I'm like, who the hell is this guy? And, you know, it was just random, right? And then he came to my mastermind. We got to know each other and helped him transition out of that. I bought his first program, which was really good. It was just basic sales training, like, whatever you would expect a top sales guy to do. And while he was doing this market research phase, while he was doing this kind of, like, sell, this first thing, he was basically working with him and an assistant until he got, like, 100 grand a month coming in. And while he's doing these calls with people, you know, belly to belly, one to one, not super scale, just cranking, he was realizing that their actual issue was that they wanted trained salespeople placed in their business. And you may or may not know the rest of the story. He ended up going on to do Closers IO, where now he has 70 people working for him, including somebody who worked for me for a couple years, and they do, like, $3 million in sales a month, you know, and had he stuck with the training and the tried and true model and not listened and paid attention to the market and what they actually wanted, he would have missed that giant opportunity, which is 100x opportunity from what he was doing, you know? So it's. It's a really beautiful thing. And I just.
He's having a moment right now.
Yeah, he's having a moment where, like, work forever. There's already a ton of competition nipping at his heels, but for right now, he's crushing it, and it's awesome.
And this is the Cole Gordon moment. In fact, there's somebody else that I'm seeing that's having a moment right now, and it's Alex Haruzi.
Oh, my God. Yeah, Alex is crushing it. He.
He's having his moment right now, and it's so exciting to see that. Oh, and by the way, a Part of this is perseverance. Right. Like you. Yeah. You can come out with a great idea and you know that it works when you're selling it to one company. Now you want to make it available to individuals. And it's not that the content really changes, it's more the tactics about how to get in front of the buyer. And then you have to be hungry enough to modify, adjust, tinker, try, add more value into the offer to get people over. And once you get to that point. Oh, and study other people.
Yeah. You can't be a hater and like shut your eyes off the world and never look at other people's stuff too. Like, I'm joining other communities all the time, whether or not I'm interested in the subject material, just to see how they interact, to see what they're doing, to see what I can learn honestly, to make our masterminds better. And I just did an hour long training for our clients and they were thrilled because I basically went out and spent a ton of money, joined a bunch of programs and brought them back all the best practices that they can bring into their masterminds.
Yeah, totally, dude. One of my friends, Kane Minkus, is here in the Phoenix area for a third of the year. And Kane's done over $500 million in, in sales for his courses. And by the way, there's an episode with me and Kane in the Todd cast. And so I'm going to dinner with him tonight. But last week my wife and I went to the event that him and his wife did and I know his material. I've actually sat through this same session two or three other times already. But I went to watch and to learn because he's really good at selling and I want to learn. So by getting involved in other masterminds or groups, you can start discovering elements that you can pull into what be becomes your best practice. And I love those things. So give me an idea. If somebody is excited about working with you, which, I mean, after hearing you, it's kind of obvious you're the dude. What do they do? What are next steps like? And how can people get a hold of you?
Yeah. 8minutemastermind.com is the book. You'll get three free resources just for checking it out. There's like a little email capture page right before and we'll send you some additional value. There's a ton of stuff on our funnel, so to speak, in our onboarding process. So whether or not you buy anything from us, you're going to get a ton of great stuff. So that's thing one, when you decide like, hey, I'm ready to invest money and you're like, ready, honestly ready. Like, don't bother jumping on a call until you're ready. It's just a waste of everybody's time. But you know, when you are, the team's there and available to chat with you and see what your needs are. And we want to make you a custom offer and build you a custom journey to get your mastermind off the ground. Because, you know, while we have an award winning program which we've been doing for five years and it's pretty damn stacked, I have sensitivity to every individual that comes in and I coach every single individual personally that comes in to make sure that they have the best experience possible. I don't believe in handing people off to some other person that they've never met before. After I've, you know, like, I don't want to sell the A team and then deliver the C team. Right. So you get me. That's very reasonable compared to hiring me if you're going to hire me to be a six figure investment. If you hire our team to help you build the mastermind, like a done for you type of deal where we go out and we work with your leads, we do your market research, we work out your offer and we sell your mastermind, that gets to be a little more expensive. And we again don't do that with very many people, probably three to five a year max. Just because, you know, there's, there's only so much bandwidth and there's only so few, there's so few people you'd actually want to work with and even fewer of those we end up partnering with for the long term because.
Right, because you also have to be super excited about what it is.
If we're going to marry somebody, we got to date them first.
Right?
So there's a few out, there's a few off ramps along the way, but we can help a lot of people make a lot of money together. And if you don't have a mastermind in your, in your business and you're hearing us and seeing us right now, why not, right? Is it just because you don't have the bandwidth? I get it. Is it not your forte? Is it just not something you're ever going to do on your own? I get it. But if it is a way that you want to impact your world and you want to have one and you know, we exist now, like you kind of owe it to your audience and yourself to add that to your business because it's the most fun you're gonna have, it's the most freedom you're gonna create and it's the most family of choice you're ever gonna have. I mean, I'm getting married in March, you know, by the way, small announcement here. Jasmine and I are engaged.
Are you breaking it right here on the Todd cast?
Yeah, we just got our engagement photos back literally today. So we're gonna announce it here on social media probably today or next week after the holiday. Awesome. You know, we're getting married in March and Jasmine was a client. I had to fire her in order to ask her out. So hashtag integrity on that one. I mentioned Chris earlier, who's a dear friend. I have dozens of friends and like near family that I've met through masterminds that I can't even have imagined when I was growing up that I would have this amazing of a network, you know, that's super.
What's your wedding date?
We're going to go 321.
Oh, that's great.
Too long? Yeah.
That's fabulous. I'm so happy for you and you and Jasmine and you guys getting started. And I love the fact that you had to fire her. But you know, my wife and I are entrepreneurs together and for about eight years, Wende was in the office every day with me. And then eventually Wende fired herself. And by her firing herself, you know, we got each other back again. And there's, there's something really cool about that. And thank you for being a wealth of information on masterminds. I know there are a few people that really do it well, it's great to see you crushing it for people and for those of you that are ready to stop fooling around in the slow path and you want the accelerated path to revenue. Like just think about what I shared and confided in my mastermind. I didn't go to Brad at the beginning, but I went to a mastermind guru that I already had a relationship with. And this is some years ago, but I could have tinkered for two years and then walked around all angry that this didn't work. You know, you hear people say that, oh, you know what, social media lead gen doesn't work, or ads on the Internet doesn't work, or SEO doesn't work. I mean, it's infinite video in your sales process doesn't work. But the reality is they quit too early or they just didn't go see the guru to get the fast path at the beginning. And that's what you can find when you go to 8minutemastermind.com. That's 8minutemastermind and 8's like the number 8mindmind.com Brad Hart thank you so much for joining me on the Todcast and sharing a wealth of knowledge with my audience.
