A Canadian visits Australia

A Canadian comedian riffs on Australia's weirdness: the sun is huge, insects are house-cat sized, and people say "makkans" for McDonald's. His credit card doesn't work at some taps. He loves it anyway and isn't leaving.

I'm a Canadian in Australia and I have some observations. First of all, why is your sun so big? Why is it so big? That's not right. Are there two suns? Am I the sheeple? You can't even— watch, watch this. We're here for family, we're packing, and a family member, I'm like, what should we bring? And she says, bring like a really warm winter coat, like it's winter here, make sure it's, you know, bundle up. And also bring sandals. Oh, also they swear here, like it is impressive. The radio DJs swear. I was listening to the radio in the car on the way over here and And the DJ was like, "Hey, yeah, well that's some shit." My wife and I were like, "What the hell?" And I turned and I asked the driver, who was my sister-in-law, I said like, "What did he just say?" And she said, "Was that cunt?" Back to the sun for a minute. Is it because it powers your insects or something? Like, why are your insects the size of house cats? That's not normal. You know, we don't— you're not supposed to feed spiders. Is that not— does it— is that not an internationally known thing? I'm using my Canadian credit card. It works mostly, you know, they have the tap and it mostly works, but sometimes like the, you know, the networks are different. So I ask for help and I start by saying, like what I want to say is, this is an international credit card. And what I say instead is, I'm from Canada. Every single time I've done this, this is how they respond.
Aww. Like I'm a grade 4 kid in hospital. Aww.
But for real, why are your insects this big? Can we also talk about your outlets? Like they're literally the same as ours. They're like the same size, they're the same metal. They're just slightly twisted. Like, phew, they're like From that to that, like, why? Why? Also, they speak English here, but I cannot understand a word they're saying. It's not the accent, it's that they have completely different words for everything. Makkans is McDonald's. You wanted a coffee break? You're having a smoko. Anyway, I guess what I'm saying is I love it here and I'm not going back. Okay, bye.
