Kevin got a DM from a six-follower account offering him an artist slot at Fyre Fest 2 because they loved his dryer-lint throne installation called "Lint Oracle: Voices from the Dryer Dimension." He negotiates for a fog machine and haunted Speak-and-Spell but settles for a bubble machine and a mime expert named Trent. He performs after DJ Dental Plan, who makes ambient music from root-canal audio.

Guys, I just got offered an artist slot at Fyre Fest 2. Yes, they're actually doing that again. So they reached out via DM. It was like an account with 6 followers and a bio that just said, "We learn from flames." So very trustworthy vibes. Anyway, they said they loved my recent installation series called "Lint Oracle: Voices from the Dryer Dimension," and they wanted me to bring it to the Mexico venue that they apparently don't have. And I was like, "Do you have any idea how unstable my lint throne is in a coastal climate?" And they were like, "Exactly," which I mean, okay. For those of you unfamiliar with my work, first of all, how dare you. Lind Oracle is a multi-sensory ritual space made entirely of 17 months of collected dryer lint, categorized by hue, fiber type, and emotional resonance. You don't just view it, you feel it. Fucking hear. There's a throne, there's a chant, there's a hamster named Dave who tells you what you need to let go of emotionally by peeing on color-coded cotton balls. It's a whole thing. Now, I asked about the artist fee, right? 'Cause I'm not gonna bring like 80 pounds of curated lint and an emotionally volatile hamster to a former missile testing site for free. And they were like, "Well, we can't offer compensation, but we can cover flight and hotel." And I was like, "Okay, cool. Let me just break my spine carrying a sacred lint throne through TSA so I can stay in a structurally questionable yurt next to a guy collecting kombucha made from rainwater and resentment." Not that I'm ungrateful, but also I told them I need a fog machine and a haunted speak and spell and 12 gallons of artificial tears, and they were like, they could offer me like, "Well, we have a handheld bubble machine and a guy named Trent who knows a lot about mime." So fine, good enough. I'm scheduled to perform, if you want to look for me, right after the guy named DJ Dental Plan who plays ambient beats made entirely from root canal audios. So yeah, that's going to be me, Kevin, ceremonial lint vortex, and 30 dehydrated influencers screaming because their phone chargers won't work in the sand. So obviously I said yes.
