Hey Americans, there's a moment in every relationship where you think, "Okay, I like this person. I'm not ready to sell my house yet and move across the country for them." You know, you need to know whether they chew with their mouth open before you commit to sharing a bathroom with them for the rest of your life. If you have been Googling "how to move to Canada" at 11 o'clock at night, imagine if you could audition Canada for just a weekend and date us. No risk, no hard feelings if it doesn't work out. That's what my community on Vancouver Island has ready for you. We call it Tod's Nanaimo Infusion. This year it's April 24th to April 26th. You come up, you spend a weekend here, you meet local parents and ask about the schools, meet people from the queer community. If you work in healthcare, meet people who work in the public system. We will arrange tours of hospitals if you're a nurse, or clinics if you're a doctor. And then you get back on the plane and you go home. We did it last year. Hundreds of Americans showed up. Many of them live here now. And if that happens to you, if Canada ends up sitting in your chest 3 days after you land, if those late-night questions finally have answers, you will not be starting from scratch. There is a community here that already knows your name, that needs people exactly like you. And that will help move mountains to help you and your family get here. And if not, you'll have spent a weekend away from the doom in one of the world's most beautiful places. You've been writing this story in your head for a while. It's time to find out if this story is true.
