A quick message for those co hosting podcasters out there.
And Tom and I have been podcast co hosts since the very first day we started our very first podcast on 3D printing WTFF. So co hosting is in our blood. It's what we know.
Here's the thing that you don't think about when you are co hosting, there are two of you to promote your show. That means there should be two authors in the field or more if you've.
Got a whole team around it.
Everyone's name should be in the author name of the listing for your podcast. And the reason for this is is that sometimes people know me, Tracy Hazard.
And sometimes people know Tom Hazard better.
So whichever one they decide to search on, you want to make sure that you're searchable for. And here's the key. It's too often that when we have.
Co hosts that are married like Tom and I, where it might say Tracy.
And Tom Hazard or to Tom. And it's typically this way, Tom and Tracy Hazard. And what happens when you do that is that Tom and is not a name Tom and is not the way that people search for him. They're going to search Tom Hazard, Tracy Hazard. They're not going to search Tom and Tracy Hazard. It's very rare that they will do that. It ruins your search engine optimization. No matter where you are.
This is a problem for those of you who have pairs of you who are co hosts or you run a business together or you are married or.
Whatever that is that you're functioning as. If you operate that way. It is not something that is searchable. So if you're in the co host situation, make sure you put your name and your co host name. Make sure they're separate. In the author's field, you can have more than one author. And if you're going to be doing a company name in addition to that.
You can do Tom Hazard, Tracy Hazard, Potaties, or Tom Hazard, Tracy Hazard and Brancasters Inc. Which is the real official name of our company. You can do whatever you want in.
Terms of that, have a network name, anything like that. But make sure both your names show properly in the author name or you're limiting your searchability.
