I promised I'd share with you what Ecobait is and it touches two of our tips, guesting and promotion. Right. So when we want our guests to share our show, sometimes it's hard to get them to do it. And this I discovered early on, and it was as a writer for Inc. Magazine, I wrote a column for Inc. Magazine for four years. And it was so hard to get people to share the feature that that was written about them. And I thought INC. Magazine, this should be easy. And it wasn't. And the bigger they were, the harder it was to get them to share it properly. Lots of times people would just say, I was on a podcast, I was featured an article, here's I was in Inc. Magazine, here's the Inc. Logo. But they don't link back to the proper file, to the proper podcast episode, to the proper place, the proper blog, the proper article, they didn't do that. So I wanted to find a way to get them to do it and make sure that they would properly share it. Whether they were sharing on social media, putting it on their website, which is a power play in and of itself because it's cross linking back and forth, that helps our Google ranking everywhere and it helps to make sure that more people find our podcast or our articles in this particular case. So what I found was I have to stroke the ego of my guest or my feature. Whoever is being featured needs to have their ego stroked. And when I give people, and this is the common mistake in the podcasting industry is that when somebody's on your show, they write a quote of what somebody says on your show, they write a tip from their guest and that's great for your audience. But if I'm a guest on your show and you send me a tip, a quote of what I said and I put that on my social media feed, it makes it look self serving. It makes it look like I'm so great, look, I'm quoting myself. That doesn't work so well. So what we found is if we put a quote of what you say I about your guest and we put that in a quote graphic and we share that out with them, they are more likely to share it. Nine out of ten will share when we send them that graphic, that's just amazing in and of itself. But we go one step further. We created a whole.
Linking back to the original episode, to the original blog post, to the original article. We created a whole link back process, a code that they can put on the press page of their website. That does it all for them. It'll populate with the great image and it'll give the exact link that you want to. We call that the ecobake code. So all of that together goes in a follow up email that's automatically sent out for our clients and for ourselves that gets automatically sent out and shared with the guests of our show. So we're doing double where we're getting the guests to share it and we're getting promotion and link backs power to our home base. So it actually really touches all the tips that we've been talking about in this email series for you. So make sure you think about EcoBay as a big option for you and we've got some tips on how to do it here.
