Sometimes we have blog roles on our website that also dep displays our episode blogs, right, Our episode role, if you want to call it that. So other podcasts, more podcasts, more episodes, more show notes, like, there's a ton of different ways that people put that, but a blog role is usually an image, like a thumbnail and a title and maybe a little bit more information. And those settings are usually customizable in your WordPress website or your squarespace or whatever you're using. Right, whatever you're using to host your website. Now why I'm bringing this up is because we are against dating those blog roll episodes and dating any episodes, period, on our blogs for our podcast episodes. Because very often, sometimes the blogs and the episode dates don't match and this can be very confusing. But addition, when someone listens to a podcast episode, it's new to them. They don't really pay attention to the fact that that might have aired in 2021 and it's 2024. So we don't want to have this sort of mention of the year and the date so that they feel like, oh, maybe I shouldn't really take to heart this information, this advice, because it's old. So that's why we don't recommend you display it. It's in your system, whatever date you published it. Google's recognizing that it's given it a date, but we just don't want it to be so obvious in our blog roll or in our blog posts that there is a date for that particular episode and that particular blog. So this is a recommendation we make across the board. Any blogger makes this should be looking at it the same way. Any blogger should consider removing the dates from there. The only time that this is really critically important and relevant is if you are running a news based website. And they needed to know that this is this information from this day on this particular subject, because things are changing every moment of the time and you know, on whatever the latest breaking news is, that's the only place where dates belong. If we are creating timeless content in our blogs, in our podcasts, in our video casts, we really don't want the dates there because we don't want anyone who's viewing, reading, listening, to have a preconceived notion that this might be outdated and old.
