Basic Double Leg Takedown using Shoulder Bump - Grapplin & Ground Fight

Master Wong demonstrates a double-leg takedown using a shoulder bump into the opponent's torso while pulling their knees back. A 1-2 punch creates the opening, and the momentum flips them to the ground, letting you move into mount position or transition to submissions like ankle locks or heel hooks.

What's up guys, welcome back to another lesson in the Master Wong Grappling and Ground Fight System. In today's lesson, we're going to be talking through the double leg takedown with a shoulder bump. So it's not quite as complex as the full double leg where you're picking your opponent up, twisting and looking to dump him and all that. This one you're looking to pretty much just drive through your opponent and obviously take his legs out from under him at the same time. This one is just good for sticking him flat on his arse so you can either go in and fight on the ground or of course once he lands you can just get away because obviously nobody has to fight and if you're someone that's not necessarily confident in all of your skills or your groundwork, you know, it may be best just to obviously nullify the fight, get him on the ground, and then get away if you can. So if I could borrow you, Naz, I'll show you what I'm talking about. So with this one, as with all of them, I can obviously punch, use that as a distraction and go in, or I can use his own distraction, which would be his punch. Now, we'll for now just go in off the 1-2, but as before, like I mentioned, I'm coming outside here. So even if I'm not using my hands to cover when he throws, 1-2, I'm still avoiding the punch. Okay, so from here I'll cover, 1, 2, then I'll go straight in. Now I'm looking to go in like before as he punches. So he goes 1, bang. So I'm moving forward as he's moving forward. Now my shoulder looks to land either directly in his solar plexus or just below in the abdominal region. As I do this, I go bang, and my hands at the same time are coming forward and pulling from behind his knees. Once I do this, I continue to drive through, bang, pull this, and obviously his legs get flipped up and his torso gets bowled over, basically. So I'll show you what I mean. 1, 2, here, bang, and I run straight through. Now, like with most of them, it's all about timing, but as you see, 1, 2, here, boom, and just keep running through. That way I can obviously go straight over and hopefully into full mount, that type of thing. So I'll show you what I mean. So I go 1, 2, here, boom, through, and then I can obviously step straight through into my full mount and obviously work from here if needed. If he's clever, he may catch me in half guard, all that kind of stuff, but there are things we'll talk through later. So a little bit quicker, 1, 2, here, boom, and step through. Now you'll notice if you follow him Often you may end up with a leg caught. That's fine. From here, obviously you've got ankle locks, etc. I can turn and do heel hooks. You've got many options like that. If you're clever, you can turn him right over and then go into other locks and things if you know them, or this type of thing. The choice is yours. There are many different things available. Just depends on what style of fighter you are and what you're looking to do with your opponent, basically. So I'll just show you once more. 1, 2, here, drive through and take him down. So you're just pulling their leg and driving forward in that manner. So once a little bit quicker, 1, 2, like so. Keep the leg if you want it, if not, you just turn and you leave. Thank you. So as you can see, it's a pretty simple one. You literally just bang, bang, and in. Obviously, just work on your movements so you can avoid the punches if necessary. And 1, 2, in. Shoulder drives and pull the legs, continue to step through. Pretty simple. So try it out, guys. Thanks for watching, and I'll see you next lesson.
