Eat Less Processed Foods

Tyrone Bray explains why processed foods are calorie-dense but nutrient-poor, leading to fatigue and fat storage. Whole foods like meat, fish, vegetables, and nuts deliver more nutrition per calorie. The simplest switch: stop buying processed items and keep only whole foods at home.

Yo, what's up guys? Tyrone Bray here, founder of Titan Health and Performance, and welcome to this week's quick tip. So in today's video, we're going to be talking about processed foods and why you should ideally just get rid of them, you know, knock them out of your diet and ideally replace them with whole foods. You see, the main thing with processed foods is the fact that they tend to be very low in nutrition and very high in calories relative to this nutrition content. You know, whereas with whole foods, tends to be the opposite way around. By whole foods, I'm referring to meats, fish, fruits, vegetables, whole grains if you can tolerate them. You've got your nuts, seeds, legumes, dairy, eggs, you know, that type of thing. Basically, whole foods, that nature provides, not processed foods that have been made in a lab or in a factory, that kind of thing. And obviously with a real whole food, they tend to be high in nutrition relative to their calorie content, whereas as I mentioned, processed foods are high in calories relative to their nutrient content. You know, so obviously in an ideal world, you'll eat predominantly whole foods so that way you're getting more nutrition per calorie than you would from processed foods. You see, with processed foods, they tend to have been altered so much from their original state that much of the nutrition that may have originally been there in obviously the foods that have been used to make this processed food, much of that has been damaged or lost. So you end up with what we call a calorie-dense food, basically. And the problem is, the more of these calorie-dense foods you eat to the exclusion of nutrient-dense foods, the more your body has to obviously keep tapping into its own stores, its own nutritional stores, in order to supply the nutrition that's missing in the food that you're eating, or the food that you're eating. Because obviously it's processed, it's crap, and as I say, lots of calories, very little nutrition in there. So that's often why people end up fat, etc., because they're taking on all this energy, but there's no nutrition in there for your body to effectively use it as energy, so much of it just gets stored as fat. and as I say, the more you keep doing this, the more you have to tap into your body's own resources in order to supply the nutrition, and eventually the more tired and ill you're going to become from eating this shit food. So there you go. Processed foods, get rid of them. They're crap. Ideally, introduce whole foods. One of the easiest ways you can do this is to just simply not buy the processed stuff. Now I know that's not simple, and I'll address that in a later video, but in real terms, it's a case of, well, when you go shopping, If you only buy good food, you can only eat good food because that's all you'll have access to when you're at home. You know, you won't be getting caught short and having to go to the cupboard for the crap because even if you do go to the cupboard, hopefully you'll only have the healthy whole foods in there, so that's all you're going to be able to eat unless you make the effort to go all the way back out to the store and buy some of your processed shit. So obviously it's ideal if you've only got good stuff in the house, that's all you can eat. Because if we're honest with ourselves, let's face it, If the shit is in the cupboard, you're going to eat the shit. We all do it, you know, and that's why it's ideal to not buy it in the first place. So there we go, guys. Quick and simple, nice and easy. Eliminate processed foods, introduce more healthy whole foods. Thanks for watching.
