You know, the hard part of losing weight isn't actually the things that we have to do, because in reality, the steps that we have to take in order to lose the weight are very, very fucking simple. Like, we tend to think that it's all this big complicated thing because we've got all the different experts and gurus with all their different fucking thoughts, feelings, and opinions on what it is we're supposed to do in order to lose weight. This one says vegan, this one says paleo, this one says go fucking keto and all the rest of it. And they've all got these different ideas which all essentially conflict with each other. They're all allegedly getting amazing results, but yet the rest of us are left kind of confused. It's like, well, he said this, she said that, they said this, so who do I follow? Now the catch is you don't actually need to follow any of them, but we get stuck in this idea that, well, if an expert didn't tell me what to do, if an expert didn't guide me, or give me the advice or the point or the permission to move, then I can't do anything. You know, I can dabble in things and get these ideas. Oh, my friend tried such and such, so I'll give that a go. Try for 3 days and then find that out it didn't give me the immediate result that I wanted. So fuck that shit. Now I'll move on to the next thing, try that because of my other friend said such and such. But the catch is we try all these things, get limited results, leaves us confused. We hear all the experts with different information and different advice. We get confused. The internet, as you know, you Google anything such as how to lose weight or quick ways for fat loss and so on, and you get millions, if not billions almost, of different responses, like millions and millions of them. Then we want to sit there and wonder why the fuck we're confused. It's like essentially we have too much information, too many options. And therefore it makes it impossible to make a confident decision that we're going to follow through on. Because what if I'm wrong? Many of us already believe that we're not good enough and that we, we aren't worthy and all the rest of it. So now if I go ahead and make more decisions that are incorrect and reinforce my belief that I'm no good or I'm useless and so on, then of course that's going to make me less likely to want to commit again and again. Now, as you know, we tend to repeat this cycle multiple times. It's like, I'm going to start my new diet on Monday. Monday comes, we start. By Wednesday, we've fallen off. Cool, right? Well, from next month, I'm going to start. Like, now's not the right time, but I will get around to it. So then we move into that new position in that new period of the next month, and we go, right, from Monday, I'm starting again. And then again, by Wednesday, if we're lucky, by Wednesday, we've fallen off the bandwagon again. So the catch with that is because we don't have any confidence in ourselves to follow through on the thing that we've committed to. And that's because we need to start smaller. We keep trying to kind of overhaul our whole entire lifestyle, our whole entire diet or exercise regime, or this or that, and we try and do it all in an instant. It's like, right from this moment, I'm going to be this new person. And unfortunately, that's just not how things work. It's not how we as humans are able to operate. Very, very rarely. Now, there are, of course, rare occasions where if your whole entire environment and your peer circle, etc., is set up to support that immediate change you're trying to make, then sometimes we can stick to it. But for many of us, that's just not possible. Instead, we need reps in the game. We need time under tension to build us into this new version of self that we're trying to become. So we have to be willing to grind and kind of go through some of the early discomfort that will enable us to grow into the person we need to be that can maintain the momentum that we build through these daily actions and these daily steps. Now, of course, if you guys want help with this, that's exactly the type of thing I'm going to be showing you all next week in my 5-Day Guilt-Free Christmas Challenge.
