I just don't have the time to work on my health right now.

You don't lack time for health, you lack self-management. The speaker breaks life into four domains: Body, Being, Balance, and Business. Deficits in one bleed into the others. Fix it with 15-20 minute workouts and better sleep, or audit what's actually stealing your time: too much work, doom-scrolling, misaligned tasks.

Now, I'm sure you're fully aware, but lacking time can be a serious factor that gets in the way of us managing to achieve our health goals. Now, I'm sure to many of you this is no surprise. It's like, well, yeah, I know that, mate. I've got limited time. That's why I struggle with my health too. But what we have to remember is that regardless of the amount of time that we have, we still have 4 key domains that need to be maintained and ideally elevated if we are to have a successful and a healthy life. So first off, we've obviously got to take care of our body. Now, many of us know this but struggle to do it. But ideally, we have a body that feels awesome, that's weaponized, essentially. You know, we're fit, lean, we're strong, we're healthy, and we don't have anything significant going on that limits any other domain of life. Then we have our being. Now, this is our sense of certainty and purpose in life and our belief in self and so on. Again, if this is limited, it's going to have knock-on effects and bleed into our other areas or our other domains. And cause them to suffer and lack also. Then we have our balance, which essentially is our relationships. Now, of course, we've got relationships with friends, we've got family, partner, spouse, kids, so on. So there are all these different relationships, and these relationships that take place at different levels depending on whether we just have a girlfriend or we're engaged or we're married and so on. But again, all of those need to be well nurtured and taken care of too, because if not detrimental effects from those can also bleed into other areas, which we'll get into in a moment. And then finally, of course, we've got business, which essentially is our ability to make, keep, and grow money. Now, if we're off in this game, then of course that is going to bleed into other areas as well. It's going to cause problems in our relationship with our partner, our ability to support and maintain a, a safe, secure environment for our kids, maybe, or even just to provide the essentials that we maybe need in order to keep a healthy body, maybe a gym membership, ideally organic food and things like that. We're going to struggle with those things if our money game is off. So we've got 4 key domains that need to be maintained. Then we've got this problem with time. So it's like, well, I want to dominate in all these areas right now. I'm trying to get my body sorted, but I just don't feel like I have the time right now. Things are crazy in my business, it's taken up so much of my time. And then outside of business, I've also got my family expectations and my partner needs quality time, my kids need quality time and so on. So where the hell and how the hell can I actually buy back time for myself? Now, we often get caught in this idea of buy back time, as in, for example, oh, well, when my business gets to this level or when I've just finished this particular thing in my business, then I can buy back time to start working on myself without it causing detrimental effect elsewhere. So when we're stuck in this place where we feel like we don't have enough time, there are a few things that need to take place for us. First is the mindset shift. Now, I've spoken about this with you guys before. We need to understand that time is not really the issue. It's more a case of we haven't managed ourselves well enough within the time that we have, meaning we tend to have over-obligated ourselves or given ourselves too many things to do within the span of time that we have available. And then if it's not a case of, well, I've given myself too much in the time I have available, maybe it's I've overestimated the amount that I could get completed or achieve in the amount of time I have. So we've got to get better at not only managing time, which can't really be done because time is what it is, but we have to get better at managing ourselves. But when it comes to trying to then fit in health around these busy obligations that we already have, we've got to come at it from one of two perspectives. We've got to go, okay, well, am I going to find ways that I can quickly address health? For example, short, intense workouts, quick meals, and things that are healthy but are going to be beneficial and get me to my goal, um, ways to improve my sleep quality because I can't yet take more time to get increased length of sleep, and so on. So there are ways we can kind of maximize what we're doing with the time that we have currently available, which might be very limited. So instead of doing a 60-minute run or walk, I'm going to do a 15 to 20-minute high-intensity workout and things like that. So maybe high-intensity intervals or high-intensity circuits or high-resistance intervals and so on. We might be doing that type of workout because we don't have time to do a full resistance training program or a full conditioning program and so on. So we might opt for shorter action that will hopefully yield great results. But doesn't necessarily cost a lot more time. But we're just going to take small snippets of time that we add into our schedule that we currently have. Now, the other way is we come at it more from a causal effect and we go, okay, well, what are the things that are causing me to have limited time right now? Do I have limited time because I can't manage myself very well? Is it that I over-obligate myself? Is it because I won't delegate anything out in my business? Or is it because I spend too much time stuck in activity rather than action in my business. Because of course, in a business, it will always provide you with things to do regardless of whether they're things that move the needle or not. They feel urgent and important and like they need to get done, but maybe they're not quite as important or urgent as we tend to make out. So instead, we obligate ourselves to do these things and have these massive to-do lists. But ultimately, all they do is get in the way of us achieving the other things that we want in life. Then of course we go around a bit pissed off and miffed about it. It's like, well, I want to have this too, and I want a good body, and I want to be able to spend time with my family, but yet my business takes all my time. But what it is really is we're giving ourselves too many things to do in business that maybe aren't as essential as we like to make out. So those are the two ways that we can start to manage time before we get real slick at it and good at it. So it might be a case of, right, well, I will use short but effective methods for addressing my health, quick meals or short workouts and so on, or improved sleep quality. Or it's a case of, no, I'll come at it from the perspective of, well, let me address what's stealing my time right now. So it might be that we're giving too much time to others, might be that we're giving too much time to our business, and then we get good at managing ourselves around that so we can start to take time back. All right, well, I spend too much time scrolling social media. I tell myself it's for research purposes, but really I'm just lost in the scroll. I'm just doom scrolling and wasting time. It could be that we're spending time engaging in marketing activities like creating social media content, but not really engaging in sales activities that are actually gonna move the needle in a monetary sense, which I've been very guilty of in the past too. It's like, here's loads of content, hopefully people will love it, but they're not necessarily actions that will directly lead to a sale over time, 'cause obviously it will help to nurture leads and prospects and so on. That's great. But maybe we're not then engaging in the follow-up sales activities that are required. They're actually going to produce new clients and new revenue in the business. So therefore, we feel like, oh, I need to give more time and more time because I'm not doing enough yet, which of course then takes away from us and our ability to work on ourselves and our health. So that's the way we need to look at it. Do I want to add in small things that can help me address it, or am I going to address the time issue itself and where I'm bleeding and losing time so that I can get a more well-rounded and more long-lasting effect that's going to allow me to do more effective workouts that maybe take longer and spend more time on meal prep and so on. That again will allow me to get bigger, greater results over time because I'm addressing the root cause issues right now. Now, of course, if you're a bit stuck and you're not sure where you should sort of come at this from, feel free to reach out to me, either drop a comment below or reach out to me in the DMs. And we can have a quick chat, look at where you're being held back yourself, whether you'd benefit more from adding in quick short workouts and effective short meals and so on, or whether you'd actually be better off changing some of the things you currently do in business or maybe even in your relationships that are— I don't want to say wasting time, but essentially wasting time. And that's not to say that spending time in our relationships is a waste of time, but of course sometimes it's not productive, it's not actually getting us anywhere. We're just there because we feel obligated and I have to spend some time, but it's not really quality time. It's time in the vicinity of your partner, for example, but it's not necessarily quality, present, connected time that actually builds up what we would call a bank balance that we can then make withdrawals from at a later stage. So that's what I'll leave you guys with today. As I mentioned, if you want help around this stuff to gain some clarity for you so you know exactly which approach you should take, drop a comment below or reach out to me in the DMs. And if not, I look forward to chatting with you guys in my next video. Take it easy, people, and I shall chat to you soon.
