Until You Learn To prioritise You, NOTHING Else Can Be A Priority

Tyrone Bray argues you can't prioritize anything else until you prioritize yourself. The catch: people delay self-care for business or family, but without personal health and energy, you can't perform well at either. Self-prioritization creates an excess you can share with everyone around you.

Until you learn to prioritize you first, the truth is nothing else in your life can truly be a priority. Now let me explain what I mean by that. So a lot of the time I obviously get new clients and things, they'll come to me and they'll— and I'll be like, okay, cool, so what are you currently doing to work on yourself and to, to achieve these personal goals that you have? And quite often people aren't doing the things they know they should be doing, otherwise they wouldn't need to come and see somebody like me, of course. But the catch-22 is quite often is they'll tell me that it's because they've got to prioritize their business or they've got to prioritize these other things that are going on in their lives at this point in time. Because once that thing is then sorted, they're going to have the time or they're going to have the resources or the effort or the energy or whatever it is they need in order to then start working on themselves. But the catch-22 is if you were truly prioritizing this other thing, then surely you'd want to show up as the best version of yourself. You'd want to show up with abundance of energy, abundance of confidence, and obviously looking and feeling your best. You wouldn't want to be this half-assed version that's potentially overweight, unhealthy, ill, feeling weak, feeling, um, lethargic, and so on. You're not going to want to show up as that version to work on these other things that you're apparently prioritizing. Because as I just mentioned, surely if they're really a priority, you want to be able to give it your best and obviously get the best possible outcomes with those things. So therefore, technically, it's essential that we actually work on ourselves first and prioritize ourselves as number one so that we can then put more into these other things. Now, the catch-22, another catch-22, that's obviously my favorite phrase at the moment, but another reason why we would want to obviously focus on ourselves first is not to be selfish. So a lot of people think that, oh well, if I focus on me, I'm being selfish, I'm ignoring other people, I'm being arrogant, you know, and sort of self-centered and those types of things. But what we have to remember is we're not doing it to be all about us. We're doing it so that we can show up as the best version of ourselves with an excess. Now, if I have an excess of energy, an excess of strength, confidence, vitality, etc., I've got more that I can give to other people in my life or to other activities or work tasks or whatever it might be. If I've got an excess, then I've got more to give without feeling like I'm sacrificing myself. So therefore, it's essential that we prioritize ourselves as number one. So I take care of me first, and that enables me to take care of the other priorities in my life, whether it's my kids, my partner, my business, my job, profession, whatever it might be. I can take care of those things at what would be considered an optimal level, or even potentially an elite level, because I've managed to take care of myself first and make sure that I am optimal or I am elite first. Now, if you have any questions or you want me to dig into this a little bit deeper, let me know. Obviously, post your comments, uh, below this video, and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. And if not, I look forward to seeing you guys in my next video. Take it easy.
