You’re Overpaying for Hotels Because No One Told You THIS Hack!

A short YouTube tutorial by Dan Novaes offering practical hotel-booking hacks to get steep discounts. Key strategies in this chunk: search Marriott for “government rate” (large possible savings), use AAA/government affiliations, have an elite-status friend book you to capture perks, or join travel-agent booking programs for deep discounts. The tone is tips-oriented and promotional.
Most people are stuck in a system designed to work harder and not smarter. We're here to expose the strategies, the loopholes and the Life hacks for 1% use.
This is universal basic knowledge.
Okay, this next one might appeal to a lot of our boomer audience here. So if you're a member of AAA or you work in the government, so this could be a fireman, this could be you actually work at the White House or you have any sort of affiliation to any government, government, municipality, abroad or domestically, you can actually go into the search box of the Marriott area and you could put government rate. In many cases, they will allow you to actually use that government rate and you'll get a substantial discount. We're talking about potentially an $800 to $1,000 a night room for a couple hundred bucks. What I would do in this scenario, if this applies to you, is essentially put your flexible travel dates and then see a destination that you want to go to and then see what the government rate is to. Typically you have to be a little flexible with the hotels you want to go. But I have seen people stay at the St. Regis, for example, for 130 bucks a night when the standard rate was $1,000 a night. So this is really, really helpful. And then for aaa, it may not be as significant of a discount, but it'll still be a good discount. Would still do the exact same thing. Do it based off searching for a destination and a time as opposed to a specific hotel. One of the things that I think is also worth calling out is if you know anyone that already travels a lot, so maybe they already have that Ambassador Elite status, you can allow them, have them book the hotel for you and then send a message in the system and say, hey, like my friend Dan is going to stay at the hotel. And when they check in, as long as you know them, they're going to pay with their credit card. That will be who's going to do it. For the incidentals, that's, you know, they just have to tell the front desk to do that. But now they're going to get your benefits, they're going to get your perks. And the person on the other end, why they want you to do that is because that spend goes towards them. So you don't get any loyalty perks on this, but that spend and those nights will go to their credit, which goes back to the fact that they will get a better loyalty bonus with Marriott themselves, but you get all those perks that come with that. So that's just little ways of thinking that are super helpful. The last strategy I'll talk about for universal basic knowledge around this topic is you could actually be like a travel agent. So moving beyond, you know, loyalty programs and credit cards and so on, Totally random travel agents. Travel agents get some of the best perks in the world and it's very easy to become a travel agent, right. I know a lot of people that actually get access to some of these travel agent link programs. And you may in some cases get 90% off five star hotels. Oftentimes you get to go there, you get to experience the hotel and what the hotel wants, is, wants you to recommend this to other people. And in many cases you can just get this for a few hundred dollars a year as a membership. And we know some sites that do it, we'll be sharing those inside of our community program, so feel free to sign up for that. And basically you can book hotels, in some cases airfare, you're not going to get as big of a discount, and cars for a significant discount. And so travel agents, if you think their job is to travel, right? And so they're going to get those best perks. And so those are some of the hotel hacks that I have for today that you probably have never heard of, or if you do hear some of them, maybe this will allow you to optimize just a little bit further. And hopefully that was helpful. And this is today's universal basic knowledge.
