Someone with 25 years in personal finance argues that saving money alone won't make you rich. He's seen people accumulate millions through relentless saving, only to find it's still not enough when they stop working.

I would say this is that you've been taught by most financial advisors, financial experts, institutions that your entire goal in life when it comes to your money is to save it, spend nothing, save everything, save it forever, and then hopefully someday you're going to have something to live on, right? It's always this accumulation type of mentality. I call it the accumulation theory because the truth is that what I've noticed in my own real life experience, especially having been in the money space for almost 25 years, I've seen that the reality is people don't become financially free using that method. They save and they slave away and they save it forever and they hope that they can live on this big huge nest egg when they have to pull out less than the interest. And what happens, you get people that literally save into this, sometimes millions of dollars, and then find out that's just not enough.
