Why You Feel Lost (It’s Not What You Think)

Caleb Matthews left corporate sales to follow his inner voice, arguing that feeling lost comes from suppressing your spiritual DNA rather than external circumstances. He shares how childhood mystical experiences and dream interpretation led him to build a personal strategy aligned with his unique frequency, rejecting what he calls con-culture and borrowed armor.

We're all drowning in a noise, and the first voice we start to suppress is our very own voice. What if the voice that you've been told to suppress, the inner voice that you have, was the only voice worth listening to? You should walk like this, dress like that, start a business, do not close your business, take that job, do not leave that job. The world keeps handing us things that we need to put on ourselves.
I can't wear this. I wasn't built for this.
We do it anyway. We borrow the playbook, we know how it's done, and then we follow We follow that path thinking that was, that was how it was supposed to be. We call it ambition. Actually, it's just a costume. Caleb has spent 2 decades helping people decode their dreams, the nudges that their inner voice is giving them to follow the path that they want to choose for themselves.
I knew at that moment that after 10 years that I was just another cog in the wheel.
He walked away from a very successful life, not in pursuit of a larger life, but something of his own.
What frequency do you have that's individual to you? That you have been stuffing.
What if the world is not waiting for a better version of you? The world is waiting only for you to show up. Let's begin this conversation. There'll be nothing about this conversation that Caleb or I will share that will be accidental. It'll be the universe streaming through us, and hopefully, hopefully, it'll allow you to move yourself To another orbit, what does that look like? And with that promise, I hope you stay with us. I hope you're listening because this one's important. Caleb, how are you, my friend?
Utkarsh, it's good to be here with you, and I am well. Thank you for having me on the show. I think we're going to ignite a lot of neurons today.
Let's just dive into the deep, Caleb, because the first question we start here with It just puts us in a raw space. And the question is that if that 8-year-old, that little kid, the boy growing up wherever Caleb was at 8 years, if that 8-year-old comes and meets you right now, what kind of conversation do you think will emerge between the two of you?
That 8-year-old boy would tell me right now, as a 38-year-old, not to be too serious. Don't adult too much, because I think we can do that a lot in our lives, can't we? And my 8-year-old self would say, Lean into the awe, lean into the joy, lean into the wonder. Because if we lose the wonder, Caleb, if you lose the wonder of that 8-year-old boy, then you'll lose so much that's underneath the surface. So still be responsible. Yes, but don't be over-responsible. Lean into the mystery, like what we're doing here today on this podcast. Lean into the unknown because in the unknown are where some of the most beautiful treasures can be unearthed.
These words, Caleb, awe and wonder, for a brain that receives them with awe and wonder, they can land beautifully. But for someone who's not seen that side of consciousness, I think these are empty words. And so I understand the journey that you've gone through, that 8 to the 38-year-old self. But for someone who you feel is like this, this struggling, and I really mean it with a lot of respect to their stories right now, how do we make them feel wonder and feel awe? Because for me, it comes really simply, like having a cup of coffee. I feel like such a sense of awe and wonder through that. So how do you make someone who's not received that yet, what does it mean to have awe and wonder in your life?
It means to see the links between our day-to-day lives and our night season. There's so much to unpack there. It'd take me years to unpack everything I just said there, seeing the links. But practically and really elevator pitch, I want to bring it down. And that is in order to be able to see the moments of awe and wonder and joy, we must get out of the dichotomous worldview. And we have to get into the trichotomous being of how God created us with a spirit that has a soul that has a body. Too much of the world in my perspective is living in the mind and in the body, but is disconnected from the spirit. That's where the problem really begins.
Explain this to a 6-year-old moving from the dichotomous to the trichotomous. What does it mean?
Really, it means to get out of what we're processing in the HPA, the here and now, the here perspective, and getting farther back. Enjoy the sandbox. Yes, but there is the joy that leads you to the sandbox. There's that inner nudge, that inspiration of why are you going to the sandbox? Why are you playing? Why are you experimenting? And asking those kinds of questions will lead one to the source, especially that younger version of ourselves that needs to still be able to Walk out what that looks like.
When did that journey begin for you, Caleb? Because at 8 years old, were you exposed to this idea? Were you, were you in a space where you were exploring what that connection to the soul, connection to that higher self looks like?
Yes. Yes, really. From, I was blessed at a young age to be raised in a creative environment. I was homeschooled. For those of you out there that were homeschooled like I was, yay for the homeschoolers. But me and my 2 older brothers, we were homeschooled and And at this young age, experimenting creativity, getting into that individual design framework, even as a young boy, was part of my life. And the spiritual really was one of my first memories. I know it may sound odd to our listeners, but one of my first memories as a child, as a 6, 7, 8-year-old boy, was really dreams of the night season. One of my first memories I can recall, I can already go back in time with you, even as we're talking into that moment where I started hearing Audible voices. I started seeing dream, visionary dream experiences as a young boy, and I was like, okay, this isn't just what I'm seeing in my day by day. There's a spiritual element. There's a God element behind this that I need to explore. Yes, that was when I was 8 years old.
Are there any really vivid memories, Taylor? Because I would wanna walk down that memory lane, go to that 8-year-old's Aura and space. Are there any stories that you feel could just take us there?
Sure. One in particular I can remember, and I was very, very guarded of my space. I still am as a 38-year-old, but especially as an 8-year-old, very guarded of my physical space. And when my parents would tuck me into bed, I would always close and lock the door behind me. I was just that kind of boy. I just liked my, my private space. So really that spiritual connection, meditation, prayer is really part of my life even as a young boy, even though I didn't understand all the dynamics of it. But I can remember one of the first memories of this lucid state, the dream state, this lucid state that many of our listeners are familiar with, of being aware that you're falling asleep, but you're not fully there. And in the lucid state, when I was, when I was 6, between 6 and 8 years old, you know, as a young boy, I would remember the audible voice of, or just the sound of wind chimes, like the tinkling of wind chimes over my ears as I was falling asleep. Now, the wind chimes were nowhere close to my bedroom. In fact, they were way in the backyard. So I knew that this wasn't the wind chimes in the backyard. It was too far away. Something more was happening. And these, just this calm energy and this just calming presence really was watching over me. I knew it was watching over me as a young boy. And that really began the discovery of really asking, especially my mother who raised us in dream interpretation, the Hebraic method of dream interpretation, what are these dreams meaning? What's being communicated? Because we spend a lot of time in the dream state.
Fascinating. And, and, and then in, in, in the, I'm overgeneralizing, but in a typical household, when a 6 to 8-year-old goes and tells the parents that, oh, I'm listening to these wind chimes at night, or I'm having these dreams, or I'm trying, they could be taken by, with a lot of resistance, right? What's wrong with you? You're imagining things. There's nothing like it. The wind chime is in the backyard. That's far away from your room. And so the world starts to tell you a story, right? Which takes you away from who you're designed to be. How did you take that journey and how does one take that journey?
Really, to answer that is more or less going back to the framework of, I'm glad you touched on it, design, the DNA of design. And I was raised in a believing household to believe in the Hebraic method of how God communicates through the scriptures, and part of how God communicates through the scriptures are in dreams and visions everywhere from, you know, Joseph interpreting the dreams for Pharaoh to Daniel interpreting dreams for Nebuchadnezzar. And even a third of the Bible are actually dreams and visions and experiences. And even a lot of history, people like Harriet Tubman in the United States ran away on the Underground Railroad from slavery to freedom. People like George Washington, you know, like one of the presidents of the United States, as well as many different historical figures had dreams And for me, I was grounded and raised as an environment that, okay, this is more than just my own thoughts. This is a blueprint and a message behind these dreams and these experiences. And so I didn't doubt. And even though culture and society tried to peer pressure myself and my family from, okay, that's just your imagination, it's really pushing back with that firm belief and that conviction that we're not just dichotomous beings with a mind, a body, but there's a spirit, soul, and a body, a trichotomous being behind it. So it's really that firm belief in God for me that was pushing back against what I call con culture, because that conformity and con culture will always try to veer us off path from walking in our design. And it takes work. It's not easy, but even as a young boy being raised in that environment, I knew that there'd be resistance because not everyone's going to understand the message.
Get into the DNA of design and learn more about that. But before that, the 2 words that you said, Con culture and conformity. I think these are really powerful tools of pushing us away from who we are born to be, who we can be, and who we are hiding from the world. So if there's someone, Caleb, listen to both of us, they're with us 12 minutes into the conversation, they feel like this is making sense. How do we support their journey? They are 34 years old and they are a young parent trying to figure out what society is asking them to do as a leader, as a parent, as a spouse, as a child, whatever, right? And they have this higher calling of pursuing certain dreams, of pursuing who they can be, but the conformity, the con culture keeps pushing them away and Keeps them caged. How does that person look at this whole journey?
They really have to look through the eyes of knowing what armor they should be wearing versus the armor they're not supposed to be wearing. Now, what I mean by that is I'm gonna use a story and an illustration, cuz you and I, Utkarsh, we, we love, we love our stories, right? I wanna back this up by history because history speaks. And armor in the story that I'm about to share is a huge example and also a message for us to follow into not wearing somebody else's armor. Here's the story, and you may recognize it, our listeners may recognize it, and it comes from the Bible. It comes from the ancient texts. It's made famous recently by the series on Amazon called House of David, one of my favorite shows on television right now. But the premise of the story is this: David, the shepherd boy, is volunteering to fight the giant that's taunting the armies of Israel saying, somebody send me a champion. Like, I'm standing out here, I'm bored. No one's gonna rise to the challenge. And he's mocking the army. And finally David says, I'll do it. And, you know, the king and his brothers and everyone says, how can you do it? You're just a boy. How can you possibly fight a man of war that's been doing this for his entire life? You're just a shepherd. And he said, well, I have faith that whatever I have in my hand, which is my staff and my stones and my conviction, my faith in God, that I'm gonna be able to defeat this giant. So finally, Saul relinquishes and, you know, he just, he says, okay, we're going to send you as our champion. But here's a part of the story that most people gloss over or don't even know of. Saul says, in order for you to fight the champion Goliath, you're going to have to wear my armor. You're going to have to put on the king's armor. Put on my armor the way I've done it, the way I've won victories in battles before. When you put my armor on, you're going to be successful, David. And so David tries the armor on. And then he says, I can't wear this. I wasn't built for this. Why do I share that story? Caleb Matthews, why are you sharing that story? I'm sharing that story because the armor that's customized for you within your physical DNA, down to the cellular level, and also your spiritual DNA, the armor that's meant for you is meant for you alone and nobody else. And the same way my armor, Utkarsh's armor, our armor is not meant for you. Don't put on our armor. Learn from us. But don't become a clone. And that's what I would say to the 34-year-old that's struggling and trying to figure out what do I do next to push it back against con culture. Don't put on somebody else's armor, no matter how much conformity and peer pressure comes against you, wear your armor.
Such a powerful story. And you're saying so many things that I am making a note of so that I don't miss on talking about that DNA. You spoke about the physical DNA, but you spoke about the spiritual DNA. So I'm going to come back to that. I love the idea of looking for your own armor, building your own armor. Is there a method to it, Caleb? Is there a method that I can, or even what's worked for you as you built your own armor? If you could share that so that we can get lessons on how do we build our armors? So how do we not take someone else's, but have our own armor?
It's all start. Yeah, absolutely. And it starts with going inside to our conscience because as the great Martin Luther said, to go against conscience is neither right nor safe. I'm going to share from my own personal life what that looked like for me. I left the corporate world over 3 years ago. I was very good at sales, very good at sales. And one of the top salespeople in my company for 10 years, I'd won the trips, Done the trips to Las Vegas, won the awards, won the bonuses, the cash bonuses, and was one of the top performers in telecom in one of the big carriers in Canada. Many of our listeners would know the carrier if I said it, but just to keep the story moving here, I was one of the top performers. And after 10 years, I decided, okay, I'm good at sales, but do I see myself in an office for the rest of my life? No, I don't. It's not my joy. It's not what gives me passion. I'm good at it, but it's not my passion. And so what I did is I said to my boss one day, I'm going to carve out— well, I carved out a strategy, a business proposal of being able to work remote like I am right now from Cabo, Mexico, as a podcaster, a content creator, and as a host, an Airbnb host. And I carved out an idea to my boss and I said, I want to work remotely here for 6 months and work in Canada for 6 months, support all the physical stores, but I want to drive traffic to the stores. And I come up with a proposal. I even ran it by many executives that were higher up than my boss. Many people have been directors of sales for the big telecom companies in Canada. And so they all said, oh, this is a sure tap-in putt, so to speak, to use a golf analogy. This is surely going to be accepted. Go for it, Caleb. So I had many different executives say this idea should work. And I remember the moment when I was in Houston International Airport in Texas over 3 years ago. My boss had waited 3 weeks before getting back to me. So I thought, okay, this isn't a good sign. He didn't get back to me right away after 10 years of giving loyal service. This isn't a good start. And so when he called me on the phone, he said, Caleb, we're not going to go ahead with your proposal. We're not even going to try it out. And he said, and the reason is, drum roll, please. Here comes the drum roll. The reason is, is because Online sales do not work. Do I live in the Jurassic Park era? Like, where are the dinosaurs? Do I see pterodactyls flying over my head? Like, what is that? And I knew at that moment, I knew at that moment that after 10 years that I was just another cog in the wheel. I was not being celebrated in my individual DNA of design, even though I was willing to pay, take a significant pay decrease to try this idea out. I wasn't worth the investment. They weren't even willing to try. And so I knew that I needed to move on from that career because it wasn't going to celebrate me. So to our audience, I would say as a practical activation, it's a practical mindset and a perspective. If you're in a place where you're not being celebrated, go where you're treated best.
Such powerful advice and lesson from your own journey. If you're just a cog in the wheel, if you're not being celebrated, Ask yourself, what is your passion? What ignites your spark? What is your joy? And then chase it. Chase it like it's nobody's business. I think we all have the desire to craft our own armors, using your language, Caleb. We have the desire of changing things around, but it's when inaction hits us in the face, that's when it just pains my heart. That you're wanting to change something about your life, but you're not wanting to put in the action to do that.
It's true.
How do you think about that?
Believe that's exactly right. And it's an economy of motion or emotion or just inaction. You get the drift. Emotion, even tongue-tied, but I said something that might even be profound in itself. The emotion of action or inaction is indeed an emotion. And it's where we posture ourselves one way or the other. It's a choice. It's a choice to be active or non-active. It's a choice to be a bystander or an active participant. And that's what we're talking about when we talk about DNA of design, when we're talking about spirit, soul, and body, that God-created, breathed construct, because I believe it's a collaboration. It's not all us. It's not all God, higher power, creator, whatever language you and our audience use for it, because I want to respect the fact that every person has their individual spirituality and belief systems. But it's not all us. It's not all God. We have to collaborate just like it was for man and woman in the Garden of Eden in one of the earliest stories of the Bible. It's collaboration. It's not walking above or underneath. It's side by side. And when there's that collaboration, then we can move into action. When there's no collaboration, that's where inaction thrives.
If that collaboration exists where we Feel that we are, we are walking by and with side by side with a higher force, God. And I'm a, I'm a deep believer. So, so I'm, I'm a deep believer of God and the strength that, that provides. So if you're walking that path with that superpower, that universal force, that higher force, that God with us, it just makes life really easy. Why do people still resist it?
Because it's an offense to the natural mind. Because the things of the spiritual, the things of God, the things that are unseen are an offense to the natural analytical mind. And when the soul is stronger than the spirit, then revelation cannot flow purely. But when the spirit has dominion over the soul, That's when revelation can flow clearly. And this is my belief and my conviction is that the spirit was always meant to govern the soul, not the soul governing the spirit. And I think especially farther we travel out west, and this has been my experience traveling from both west to east, the farther west we go, this Western culture, it champions the mind and the physical and the body. The spirit is almost like a Sunday morning afterthought or a course that you can take in a seminar or workshop that you can conjure up like a genie in the lamp, like Aladdin, but it's not actually a part of our human construct. And the spirit is meant to govern the soul. That's why it says in the Psalms, the great Psalmist David said, why, oh my soul, are you downcast? Who's talking? It's his spirit talking to his soul. And so for our audience, I just want Whoever is listening to this right now, I want you to remember this, and that is govern your soul with your spirit. Don't allow your mind to dominate your spirit, but allow your spirit to govern your soul.
Does that look like—
That looks like not taking everything at face value. Like, I'm not saying throw your mind out the window. But really be somebody that judges character and judges fruit. I cannot emphasize this enough, that the enemy of the God is the good. There can be so many good opportunities, but are they God's opportunities? Are they divinely orchestrated? Are they meant to be what you're supposed to walk in? Because you and I, We can walk through many doors that are available to us, but is it the right door?
Hmm. Here's how I think about it and, and help me shift my thinking, or let's co-create the thinking. How I feel is that God has a plan and we have a choice. And when that collaborates, in, in your words, when that collaborates, then I will be offered the right doors that are right for me. That my spirit and soul are going to be ready to enter the doors. Yes, absolutely.
I, I, I feel like that's, that's directly on the mark because that's why, that's why the ancient text says, behold, I stand at the door and knock, and if anyone hears my voice, I will come in and dine with him and eat with him. Now that's the example of a stranger or a friend standing at the door waiting for an invitation. And God is really like that. God will not overimpose his boundaries upon our own individual freedom and sovereignty and the freedom and the power of choice. That's one of the most powerful assets that we have in life, free will. And when free will is taken, then that's, that's not That's not the flow of the Spirit. That's slavery. But if we think at the same time that these opportunities are going to come to us, if we just stay in the house and never open the door when someone knocks, then that's not good either.
Yeah, such a fine balance, right? And as I'm listening to you, Caleb, I'm also thinking how having this thought and moving from this mindset that there is a collaborator, co-creator that's walking next to you, how it could take away a lot of pain of the world. Because we are right now seeing loneliness as an epidemic, and we are seeing people getting really challenged with how their mental healths are eroding and going down. And no fault of theirs, but it's a space where We don't have, we don't have an anchor that's gonna help us stay stable yet allow us to move. And, and this paradox is, is, is still away from the human soul and spirit.
Yeah. Yeah. There's a lot of pain and suffering and self-inflicted wounds, I will say, that we really do to ourselves every single day when we We lose sight, and this is what we were talking about at the beginning, is we lose sight of that awe and that wonder and that joy. And part of entering in past the awe and the wonder and the joy is that connection with our spirit. It's that connection with the joy and the wonder of the unseen, and ultimately where God exists behind the shadows. That's where we can eliminate a lot of the self-inflicted suffering that we put upon ourselves when we are only leaning on the dichotomous being. And not the trichotomous being. When we lean not on our own understanding, he will make our way straight. That's, that's a promise. And when we lean on our own understanding, that's when we can get into ego and our own soul without the winds of the spirit directing our own individual path.
Yeah. This, this, this whole structure that we are giving people, the, the DNA that we are giving where It's not just your mind and body, but there's a spirit that comes together to make you whole again. This wholeness that we are talking about, Caleb, it's like when you're in, when you're having this conversation, people are listening to us on the podcast, they might resonate and relate to it. And they get to their workplace, they get to their cars and they're standing in that traffic and they meet with an accident or something happens. And then it all flies off the window. And how do we make it easy for someone to grasp and operate? Because again, you and I are coming from a mindset where it's like a part of our DNA. Like whatever is going through my life, whether I have $2 or $2 million, in both those cases, I'm just grateful for the universal force for putting me where I'm at, for putting me in front of you and having this conversation with you. And so all I can do is that. But again, for someone else, this, this trichotomous being is, is really unclear. So what does it look like?
Well, I'm gonna put this in a simple elevator pitch, and I've got this written down here on the right side. So if my eyes veer, I want— I had one of these ready. I wanted to make absolutely sure that we put this down concrete. If no one else remembers anything that I said today, Remember this, and that is how do we start with the DNA of design? What does this actually mean? Well, it means bridging the gap between spiritual insight and practical real-world strategy, because a vision without a strategy is just hallucination.
Can you dissect that for me?
A vision without a strategy is just hallucination. I'm going to dissect that a little further, and that is if we have Our dream casting, our vision, we have a heart of where we want to go, a little bit of an idea and understanding, but we actually have no strategic, practical, real-world application to that vision. It's just a mirage. It's a hallucination. It's like we're walking through the desert of our lives and we think we see an oasis, but when we get closer, we realize it's just dust. That's what it means when we have visions and ideas, but we never put them into the vehicle of application and strategy. And so many people As we are having this podcast conversation right now, Utkarsh, many people right now are full of visions and ideas, but they don't bring the vehicle into the practical real-world strategy of actually walking those out. Why? Because of the con culture, because of fear, because of mindsets that have told them that you're not worth it. You're not able to do that. And when we begin to believe that self-doubt and disbelief and tell our subconscious that we can't do it, Then our visions will be a mirage. But if we speak and we declare a thing, because when we declare a thing, it shall be established. We are telling those ignited neurons, those neurological pathways in our brain, in our body, in our entire being that we can do it. Then our subconscious is going to believe us and it's going to manifest that. That's when it's no longer hallucination. That's when it's strategy from bridging that From spiritual strategy.
I just love everything about it. Um, and as I'm listening to you, um, I think I call this that state of, it's, it's a state of bliss, Caleb, where, where you might be, you've listened to the, the vision that's been offered to you. You're, you're giving respect. and, and presence to your spirit. And then you're taking those strategic decisions that put you on the path, however hard that path might be, however many challenges arise on that path. But you have this sense of belonging to that path where you start to feel like, this is it. This was meant for me. Hmm.
Yes. Yes. That is the intersection, the crossroads where our individual purpose meets opportunity and taking advantages of every opportunity like this one to be on Ignited Neurons. When I came across your podcast, Utkarsh, on YouTube, listening to some of the videos, I have to say, I'm just, I'm going to do this as a shout out to your podcast as listeners are listening. There isn't too often times when I go through podcasts where I feel like somebody is in the same room speaking to me, in the same room, inspiring not just my mind, not just my body, just to get action, to take these principles into action, but ignites my spirit. And that's what your podcast Ignited Neurons does, my friend. And that's an example of DNA of design. Our words Our message, our individual footprint on the earth is meant to ignite people's spirits. And it's also, and here's one that will really cook the noodle here. Our purpose is meant to outlive us.
Thank you for those beautiful words. And I could not have articulated the purpose of the podcast that crisply and beautifully, but there's a cost, Caleb. There's a cost to being this trichotomous being. There's a cost to To the mind, body, and the spirit. And I, I've observed that for myself, but I'm not gonna say anything out, but I wanna hear from you. A, do you think there's a cost to it, uh, where you pursue that path, which might seem the most blissful path for you, but then people around you start to question it? And how does one overcome that?
In the words of Jesus, he said, many are called, But few are chosen. And that is the truth of what we're walking in right now. When it comes to walking in our calling, a great calling demands a great separation. And society never will really fully understand our calling and our purpose. If everybody on the earth is on board with my calling, I've done something wrong. Because I've tickled ears and I've man-pleased and women-pleased. Like, I'm— that means that I'm putting on a show to try to please everybody. But there should be 2 groups when it comes to walking our individual DNA design. There should be one group that is in our corner cheering for us, igniting our neurons, and really in our corner backing us up. And there should be another group that either is indifferent or doesn't like what we have to bring to the earth. That's the way that living in life is. That's the reality of this construct that we live in, this avatar. Because be wary, Jesus said, when all men and women speak well of you. Because if all men and women speak well of us, we've denied our conscience. And if we denied our conscience, we denied our birthright. If denied our birthright, it means that we are not living fully in our DNA design. And that That is a scary thought because I do not want to reach the end of my days on the earth and look my maker and God in the eye and have him say, you did a good job, but you didn't fully walk in your birthright or your DNA design. I never want to have that conversation with God. The conversation I'm going to have with God is I emptied myself. I gave myself to every single person and group that I came across as imperfect as I am as a human being. And I I poured it out. I laid out my life as a drink offering and I left nothing on the table. That's what we have to do.
Speechless because, uh, it, it stirs my spirit, uh, to what you just said. And, um, yeah, I would never wanna have that conversation with God when I go up there saying that I did not honor my spirit. I did not believe in you. I did not believe in the plan you had for me. I did not. Yeah. Instead, I will say I lived, I earned it, I gave it all, I served, and here I am ready to meet you because this is what you planned for me. There was many decades ago, there was a social media platform, I don't know, Orkut. I don't know if you used it or not. And so I start like first time I built my profile on that, I wanted to put a quote there. And that quote, I think now is on my Facebook profile. Not, I've not opened Facebook for a while, but I think it says something like that. I'm ready to make, meet my maker. If he's ready for that great ordeal or not, that's another question. Because I felt that, that if you live with that spirit, Caleb, it's just, it's, it's just another level, my friend.
Yeah, it's, it takes the pressure off of our shoulders, doesn't it, Utkarsh, to perform? Because I only want to perform for the audience of one. That's the only performance I want to put on. The only performance I want to put on is the audience of one. Man's applause is fickle. It will come and go like the winter wheat. But heaven's applause, God's applause over my life, over your life, over our listeners, how heaven perceives how I reached out to humanity on the earth through my purpose. That's the applause that I'm looking for. I'm looking for God's stamp of approval on my life. I'm not looking for human recognition. And I know that might sound like a very spiritual out-there statement for a lot of our listeners, but it's true. We only have a window and a vial of time on the earth. That's it. We have it and then it's gone. And that's why it says in Ecclesiastes in the scriptures, teach us, oh God, to count and number our days so that we may gain a heart of wisdom. That was quoted by the great Solomon, one of the greatest men who ever lived on the planet, one of the wisest men who ever lived, one of the richest men who ever lived. And at the end of the day he said, all this wealth, all these treasures, all these relationships, all these kingdoms, all this power is meaningless except for wisdom. When God came to him in a dream— we want to talk about dreams and understanding mysteries of the night season in the Bible— God appeared to Solomon and said, you can ask for whatever you want and I'll give it to you. You can have the death of your enemies, you can have power, you can have fame, you can have Treasure and gold. You can have it all. And he said, I want wisdom. And God said, you've asked the greatest thing. So I'm gonna give you wisdom so that you have a heart of understanding and a mind that no other man has ever had. But I'm gonna give you what you didn't ask for. Wealth, treasure, peace from your enemies, peace on all borders so that nobody who ever came before you ever has been, will be as wise as you are. Why do I share all that? I share all that because the audience of one to lean into the wisdom of God, that's the only thing that matters. Everything else is just a bonus.
I think it's true everywhere. It's true in your workplace. It's true in your family. It's true in society. It's true in nations. And if, and, and it's really, you don't have to be really answerable to anyone to say that you're performing for the audience of one, but I think it's, again, it's that spirit, Caleb, that resonates that message really well. Then that shows up on how a person shows up, that then shows up into the executive presence, into the courage, into the clarity, into everything else that person shows up with.
Just got to show up. We have to show up. If we show up, Then God can move through us. If we don't show up, we don't do our part. We're gonna leave a lot on the shelf. And in order to show up, we gotta look up. Those two run parallel exactly side by side. If we're looking down and we're centered on the earth too much, or we're centered on what's around us too much of the chaos, the hardship, the, you know, the wars, the political realm, all these things. I'm not saying they're not important. I'm not saying have our ostrich with our head in the sand and forget everything in the world. We have to live in the world, but we can't be too over-impressed with what's going on in the world or in the airwaves. But what we look to, what we look at, what we behold, we become. What we look at will magnify.
Yeah. Yeah. And, and there's a part in Hindu spirituality, Caleb, that says that the, the higher force, the universal force, God, there's a part of God that lives in each one of us. And I think for those who might feel that it's still a leap for them to believe in that force, to believe in God, to believe in what you and I are speaking about. I think the first step is to listen to that inner voice, right? That, that we, that we ask it to like, shh, don't speak because the world's speaking louder. Don't speak because people on Instagram are doing this. Don't speak because on LinkedIn this looks really cool. Don't speak because I wanna be the CEO of the company and so on and so forth. Tuning into this, tuning into this sound of the soul, tuning into this inner voice. How have you seen that play and what does it do if our listeners can take that on?
It really means turning off the wrong channel or channels and turning on the right one. And I'm not just talking a television, not just talking Instagram. I'm talking taking a census of our senses. We have 5 senses. We can see, We can hear, we can taste, we can touch, we can smell physically, but also spiritually in the unseen. We have 5 senses. Take a census of your senses. Census comes from one of the famous noteworthy stories in the Bible during the nativity, when it says that the whole world was taxed under Caesar Augustus, under the Roman Empire. Every man, every woman had to report to their city of birth and they had to pay their tax. In the same way that we have to pay our tax today, and they had to pay their tax in the ancient times to the Roman Empire, we have to pay a different type of tax, which is what we choose to put into our senses. And we're going to pay interest, good interest or bad interest on those taxes. And taking a census of our senses, what we look at, what we listen to, what we spend our time with, What we allow ourselves to become immersed in. This is where it begins for someone who may be a bit skeptical or, okay, maybe Caleb, I don't believe like you guys do, you and Utkarsh, about God or an energy or creator behind this. Okay, start where you start. Use your senses and filter out the noise. Just like in the Gold Rush, when families would leave land and home in the California Gold Rush and go all the way to Alaska, and they would pan for gold. What did they have to do? What did a gold miner have to do? They had to get on their hands and knees and they had to get down the muck and they had to pan for gold. And getting into the gold often requires digging deep down into the deepest part of our spirit, soul, and body, going into those lonely places that only we can go and ask ourself, where is there the gold behind the chaos of my life? What is my life a picture of? What are the sea links around me trying to communicate to me? In the daytime and in the night season. We've just scratched the surface, but that's where we begin.
Give you a very, uh, small example. Uh, if I look at my Spotify for last year, Spotify gives you a wrapped, right? And then which songs are you listening the most? Till about 2024, it was always a lot of rap songs. And then there was a devotional song that I just love that keeps me like peaceful and joyful and all of that. And in the top 5, there were 3 maybe rap songs, 2 devotional songs, and my kids would laugh at me like, what are you listening to, man? Like, Dad, what's wrong with you? You have these devotional spiritual songs that you keep listening on repeat and then they show up and then there's one rap. What I realized in 2025, I was with a group of coaches in that moment and no one spoke about this and I did not speak out in the open about this, but I was listening to certain rap scalers. that were, that were inspiring me, but they were still focusing on the pain. They were still amplifying the pain. And I realized in June of 2025 that I don't need that kind of inspiration. I need the inspiration, but I don't need the pain to be amplified because there's no pain in life. Life's blissful. And that's when I stopped listening to All of them almost. I do listen to an Eminem rap once in a while, but then I brought up like more spiritual songs. And I sense now that whenever in my car and I have that song playing in the background, I work and I put that song in, I feel like I'm focused, I'm blissful, I'm connected to the maker. And it's just the senses, as you were saying, are focusing on the right things.
That's just it. We, we, we gotta be conscious on what we choose to put into our senses. And for something that could work for you may not work for me. Something that works for me may not work for you and our audience and so forth. But at the same time, there is a frequency. There's the altar of frequency. And that is, we either prepare an altar for light Or we prepare an altar for darkness. If I listen to songs or sounds that are— I'm just going to go really extreme here— that celebrate death and destruction and negativity, what's going to manifest in my life? All those things. But if I listen to something that draws me close to the heart of God, that draws me close to creativity, that draws me close to gentleness, goodness, to the fruits of the Spirit, I'm going to produce that. For myself, I'm a real glutton for Hans Zimmer soundtracks. I love listening to the old soundtracks like Gladiator, The Last Samurai, The Lion King.
Wow.
You know, just different soundtracks. I was able to hear Hans Zimmer live in concert in Toronto in 2016. It was one of the most amazing experiences I got to share with my father. And I remember it was a big surprise 'cause they always have big surprises in these shows. So, we didn't expect what was coming next. They played a lot of the different soundtracks, and one of them My favorite memories was when they brought up the original choir from Africa that actually sang the Circle of Life in The Lion King. And it was a huge surprise. And it was like everyone was standing on their feet and they were singing the Circle of Life. And then just, you know, everything stopped. And then the lights just went down after the drumbeat stopped. The whole place just went nuts. Like, Canada's a very conservative crowd when it comes to concerts, at least. I'm not sure if you've been to Canada before, but they're not as— wild as Europe or over out east especially, but in Canada, they're very conservative. But after the circle of life hit and the drums stopped and the music just faded, everyone just went nuts. And it was like that moment rallied the people. And there's a frequency in our DNA design, our message on the earth that rallies people. So I look into the camera and I let my voice go out in this podcast right now in this moment. And I want to intentionally ask the question to our listeners, What frequency do you have that's individual to you that you have been stuffing, that you haven't let come out, that the world needs to hear in your individual DNA of design, your physical DNA and your spiritual DNA? What is that frequency that needs to come out? Ask yourself that question, audience. There's something, somebody there needs to hear this. Don't stuff it. Don't allow yourself to go through life where you stuff The blueprint that God has put on your life. Let it come out. Let it come forth. Don't care what other people think. Guess what? In history, in history, all of the giants, the men and women who ever accomplished anything, from the Rosa Parks to the Mother Teresas, to the Alexander the Greats, to the Winston Churchills, guess what? These people that were intense leaders only had a very small amount of people in their corner, if not anybody in their corner. But you know what? God's blueprint flowed through them because they were loyal. So therefore, don't measure your success by how many people are in your corner physically. Measure your success by how faithful you are to the call of God in your life.
That's a life changer. Such a life changer. And when you have God in your corner, it's just easy. If anyone wants ease to flow into their lives, just get God into your corner. God is actually in your corner. You just need to realize that God is in your corner.
And God is there. And you know what? He's in our corner, but just like a good boxer in the ring, if you don't go to your coach after you get a couple of punches across the face, guess what's going to happen? You're probably going to repeat the same mistakes and you're going to get slugged in the face again. But if you go to your coach, you go to God, who's a coach that will never leave your corner. And you pursue him because God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him. He will be found. He will be found. And if you don't diligently seek God and that spiritual connection, then you're not going to find him. But the one who seeks finds. The one who knocks finds.
The spiritual book, Caleb, the Bhagavad Gita. It's like the Bible for Christians. Hindus have Bhagavad Gita. And, um, it's, it's called God's Song because what's happening, what the, the premise of the story is that Arjuna, who's like a great archer of the times, is in the middle of a battle and the 5 brothers are fighting 100 cousins.
Hmm.
So it's families on both sides and there's a war about to happen. And Arjuna, who's sitting on the chariot, has God As the charioteer. And so in that moment, Arjuna says, I'm gonna not fight this war because it's not worth it. I'm gonna just die. I'm, I, I just give up. I, I don't see a point in fighting this war. And God then in that moment, so there are these 18 chapters, each giving one massive lesson, but then smaller lessons through all of that. And God, for the first 1 or 2 lessons, Caleb, is just sitting and listening, not advising. Not trying to coach, not trying to change, just listening to what Arjuna's pain is. And then once the emotions have flown, then the logical brain is addressed. I just love the sequencing of that scripture as to how even God's not trying to preach something at you, but through that presence, God is asking you to go and fight your wars because you have to do it. God's on your side, but you have to fight your own wars. He's not going to fight for you. And there are wars within and there are wars outside. You gotta fight your war.
You gotta fight. We have to fight because that's why it says we, we wrestle not against flesh and blood. So wrestling means that we have to be actively in the ring. We have to fight our battles, but we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, rulers, and, and rulers of darkness in this wicked world. And Wrestling is an act of will, of being willing to lock horns with whatever opposition is in front of you. And I think so often, I agree with you, my friend, that we shy away from how God actually speaks in different portions, in different ways in our lives, in different seasons, because we like, in our Western mindset, we like to think it's formula-based. Okay, if I do this, this, and that, then that means God's always going to Speak this way. Well, no, like that's not the way that it works. God speaks in many portions, in many ways. That's why to Elijah, when he was with God on the mountain, it says that God was not in the thunder. He wasn't in the earthquake. He wasn't in the fire, but he was in the still small voice. And when we lean into the different portions, then that's when God fights through us. But we have to be willing to put ourselves in a position We fight the battle, and then God will collaborate with us to fight the battle.
To everyone who's still listening this weekend, whenever you're listening to this, stop for some time. Don't be busy. Don't try and do anything. Just stop and listen to that sound of the soul, the sound of the spirit, the sound that's coming from within you, because there, there are wonders. There are wonders in that sound. I never— it's like I don't want this conversation to end. But in the interest of time and for our listeners to also feel that there's closure, as we move from that 8-year-old Caleb to all that we spoke about, now we go 42 years because you've told me your age, 42 years into the future, and that 8-year-old Caleb arrives right now to you and has this one piece of advice on how you should live the rest of your years. What is that 80-year-old saying?
I think it's— I believe, think and believe it's actually going to be similar to the advice that the 8-year-old gave. And maybe none of your guests have ever said that they were both similar, but they are both similar in this way. It centers around do not lose sight of the wonder and the joy and the awe of the journey. Don't allow yourself to be immersed and caught up in the busyness of the construct of the world system that says you have to be like this person, you have to be like that person, you have to put on that armor, you have to put yourself in the position where everybody else has won that way, and therefore you gotta do it like everybody else has done. No, Caleb, the 80-year-old would say to the 38-year-old Caleb, continue on the path of balancing the joy and the awe and the wonder. And being responsible because we have to be prepared. We have to be strategic, but we can't allow that zest and that joy and that wonder, that childlike wonder that the 8-year-old boy has, that still the 80-year-old Caleb was able to keep within himself. That says to the 38-year-old Caleb, don't lose the joy. Don't lose the awe. Know where you're going, but allow yourself to be that little boy in the sandbox that's still willing to play. With the toys.
Spirit is full right now. To everyone who's still with us about, I don't know, 50 minutes, 1 hour into the conversation, let's listen to the 8-year-old Caleb's advice. Do not lose sight of the awe, the wonder. This weekend, pause and listen to the sound of your spirit. Ask yourself, what frequency do you have that the world needs to hear? And let that out. Don't stuff it inside. Be conscious of what you put into your senses because it's super important, and that starts to decide who you become.
Hmm.
Remember, remember that you're performing for an audience of one, no one else. Everyone else's applause is fickle. You're performing for the audience of one. Your vision needs to meet a strategy for you to go on that path of success. This free will that God, that, that we have been given, the free will, the power of choice. This is our power. And remember, there is a spirit within you. You're, we are all trichotomous beings. And so that body, the mind, the spirit, they all need to come together to allow your DNA of design to be expressed to the world. And it's, it's, it'll be a disservice to the world if your DNA of design does not come out. It'll be a disservice to To your spirit if that does not come out. Remember to celebrate yourself because you are not just a cog in the wheel. You're much larger than that cog. You are the wheel. You're, you're everything. You're, you're a drop in the ocean. You're the ocean in the drop. Everything. Just live, live with that intensity. Remember that the con culture and the conformity is gonna not allow you to collaborate with your maker. But if you tune into your frequencies and not become a clone, you get to build your own armor. And, and, and there's joy, immense joy in building that armor because no one else's armor is gonna fit you. You need to build your own armor. And to that 8-year-old, don't adult too much, my friend. Be in awe, be in wonder, because this journey is, is absolutely worth it. And you don't have to stand on the top of the Paris and the, and the Eiffel Tower every day to feel wonder. The wonder is in— that glass of water. The wonder is in this conversation with Caleb. The wonder is in your ability to feel love and be kind and to tune into your frequency. Any final thoughts, Caleb, before we close?
Absolutely. To the audience that's listened to this point, wherever you're tuning in from, whether that be from Australia, whether that be from the continent of Europe, Africa, Asia, South America, Central America, United States, Canada, every region in the world, wherever you're listening from. I want to declare this to you right now, that you will not might, not possibly, but you will reach the purpose to which you've been created by God. That there are vistas, horizons, people groups, nations that have been prepared for your arrival. For you specifically, for your DNA design, for your imprint, for your blueprint to be released on the earth. And no matter what con culture says, no matter what conformity culture tries to push upon you, you have this reality that God is in your corner. Even if you don't believe in God, God believes in you. So your calling is meant to come forth on the earth. And if nobody else has told you this besides myself or Utkarsh, Your calling and your purpose is welcome on the earth. If nobody else has ever told you that, we are telling you that today. Your DNA design, your individual blueprint is welcome on the earth, on the online space and in person. Utkarsh, I want to thank you very much, my friend, for having me on Ignited Neurons. And this has been probably one of the most tangible podcasts that I've been a part of. And I want to thank you for creating a gracious space. And for those listeners that are like, Caleb, oh, I want more, you can. You can have 2 free resources for you. I have the Seek the Link bi-monthly newsletter, which I'll provide the QR codes and the links in the comments for the podcast, Utkarsh. And I have the DNA of Design quiz, the 5-part prototype. You can discover your design prototype and what you are specifically functioned towards. And those are available for you. And I'd love to have you on this journey. And if somebody's like, hey, I I want more besides those resources. I do one-on-one link-up sessions where we dive into your individual DNA design, and I'm available for those with obviously a one-on-one consultation fee. But Utkarsh, thank you so much. This has been quite tangible and quite powerful today. Thank you for the honor.
Absolutely. Thank you for your presence. And yeah, the space that the universe wanted us to create, I think we did justice to that. All the links are in the show notes. Uh, if you wanna share it, share it. If you don't wanna share it, don't. If, if you think that there's someone in your circle who will resonate with this, then share it. If not, just keep it to yourself. God's in my corner. This is Utkarsh and Caleb signing off.
