Utkarsh Amitabh describes two Network Capital features: sectoral/location/career-oriented subgroups that connect members locally and by interest, and the Serendipity Tool ("Serendipity Thursdays") that matches small groups for hour-long, serendipitous conversations. He emphasizes community growth (about 100,000 millennials/Gen Z members), over 100 subgroups, zero-spam subgroup culture, meetups (online and offline), and the role of serendipity in fostering ideas and collaboration.

Hi everyone, I'm Utkarish here to tell you about two wonderful features of Network Capital. First is our subgroups and second, the Serendipity Tool. So on Network Capital, There are about 100,000 millennials and Gen Z from around the world coming from different areas of interest, from product management to investing to policy to development, what have you. So on nc, we have subgroups for different sectors, different career aspirations, even different geographies. Whether you're sitting in London or Lucknow, there is a community of Network Capital community members in your city. And as we've grown organically over the past few years, we've held so many meetups both in person and online in this pandemic infested world that the sense of community that has come to fore is something that I take great inspiration from. So please feel free to join these sector Career Aspiration, Industry specific subgroups, location specific subgroups and add the local dimension to how you are building upon your Network Capital experience. These subgroups have zero spam. When you join, you will instantly get access to the very high quality of people who are connecting with others for very specific reasons. So if you look at how the product Management subgroup works or how say the investing subgroup works, you'll see great jobs posted there, people sharing insights with each other on product or investing or policy, and the peer to peer conversations that take place give me a lot of inspiration about what will happen when the scale of a community grows ten times or hundred times. I think the way we've designed Network Capital is to strengthen with every new additional node, which essentially means that every time somebody joins Network Capital subscribes to Network Capital, the experience becomes better for everyone. And for that to happen, people of course need to connect with a larger community, but also have these small pockets where they are connecting with each other for specific reasons. We have over 100 subgroups and as a subscriber to NetworkCapital TV, you can access any subgroup that piques your interest. And there are of course loads of other surprises in store for you, but I encourage you to participate in the subgroup discussions with your fellow subscribers and community members on a daily level. You will become smarter, you will become more curious, and you will be able to strengthen your network at a local level or at a sectoral level or in industry, which is so required in addition to just having a large presence online. Next, I want to talk to you a little bit about the Serendipity tool that we've built. As you know that Network Capital hosted loads of meetups, talks and conferences around the world. But all that came to a halt for the past 18 months and it seems like online or hybrid is the new normal. So one thing that has suffered immensely in this pandemic is this dose of serendipity. We don't no longer run into our colleagues in the office. Conversations on Zoom tend to be a lot more efficient and structured, which is okay, but I miss hanging out or running into people. Great ideas come from serendipity in a way. If you look at the way Steve Jobs designed Pixar or Apple, it was put together in a way that people will bump into each other, share different insights. Designers, engineers, scientists, product managers will have lots of reasons to serendipitously engage, build on ideas, give a quick feedback on something that they see. And I think this serendipity is so important as we look at creating a new normal after the pandemic world. So on network capital, we have something called Serendipity Thursdays where you get matched with few people you don't know, and in small groups you have an hour long discussion, you get to meaningfully connect with them, understand their network capital experience, perhaps figure out ways to do business together, perhaps, you know, work on different kinds of projects together. And I've seen that ever since the pandemic started. This Serendipity Thursday has created so many deep friendships, work, relationships, and it has all given us something to look forward to at the end of a week. You know, in the times of pandemic, the morning, afternoon, day, day, night, there's no difference. Sometimes days become a little bit of a fuzzy concept because every day seems like a repetition of yesterday in one sense. And I would say that we have a lot of room to work on that front. So I wish you all the very best and hope to see you at the NC Serendipity tool, Serendipity Thursdays and all the subgroups that we have, take care and talk to you soon.
