Hey guys, what's up? What's up? What's up? Val Nichols here coming at you live. For those of you who don't know me, for those of you who do know me, hey girl! Hey, what's up? What's up? I am so pumped to be on here on Tuesday. It has been such a great week so far. It's been amazing. When you hop on, say hey so I know that you're here. And if you are watching me for the first time ever, I am so honored. Thank you so much for hopping on. I am just so. I feel so honored and privileged to be in this space, to be able to connect with you guys. So today I really want to talk to you guys about niche or niche. So when we talk about niche, niching down, um, I have gotten so many questions about niching your niche. I want to come on here and really dive in deep to some of these questions that I'm getting. And one of the questions that is always so So obvious for a business mentor like myself is, is your niche sustainable? Is it sustainable? And this might be something that you haven't really thought of before because there's not one cookie-cutter answer for everybody because each one of us has our own interest. We each have our own filter and our own unique experiences. Some of us are coaches. Some of us are consultants. Some of us are selling a physical product. So the first thing that I want you to think about when you're asking yourself, is your niche, is it sustainable? Is, you know, like what is your end goal? What is your end result that you're looking to do? If you're looking to be a coach or if you are a consultant, your goal might be a little bit different than if you're selling like let's say waist trainers, right? If you're selling waist trainers, What you want to do, your end goal would be to help women to create a smaller waist and to help create a repeat customer. Your goal might be to create a great product and have a beautiful retention, a customer retention plan so that you're creating those repeat customers. When we talk about your niche or niche, you've heard it said both ways. And when I ask the question, is it sustainable? So let's say that, for example, if you're a health coach, then is that a sustainable thing? Is your niche sustainable? Yeah, absolutely. This is a world that is going toward being, you know, more healthy. However, what I would challenge you to do if you're a coach or consultant is to go a little bit deeper. Because how many health coaches are there out there? Well, we could like literally type in the search of Facebook right now and say health coaches and thousands upon thousands of people would come up. Now, if you could say, share your story about how you cured your arthritis by focusing more on your health, then absolutely that is a specific niche that is sustainable because I guarantee you There are plenty of people in the world who are looking to increase their health. Hearing your story, they're like, she's the girl for that specific topic. Is your niche sustainable? Is it sustainable? Like, let's say that you offer a one-time product, right? Like, let's say you're offering a one-time product. Maybe it's something that is a really simple answer for something like, That's not sustainable. And you guys, I myself have totally gotten caught in this because early on in my business, early on in my career as a business coach, I was chasing the money. I was chasing the money. So what I ended up doing is I would go get on the bandwagon of all of these things that I saw other coaches doing that were popular, that were making a quick buck. And what I soon realized is that it wasn't sustainable. For so many reasons. For one, because I didn't really have a valid stance in it. I wasn't lit up by it. I was not lit up by the things I was teaching. So I ended up finding myself like selling out these programs. I remember one program in particular. It was a couple hundred bucks. I don't remember exactly, like maybe $197, $220, something like that. And I had 80 people sign up for this program. Which I should have been stoked about. I should have been so happy. But I'm going to tell you guys the truth because you know what, like, there's not enough people pulling back the curtains in business and, and talking about the real hard things, right? So the truth is that I had 80 people in this program, right? And before it even started, I was dreading it. It wasn't sustainable for me. I was chasing after something that was shiny and bright and I knew people wanted, but I had no passion toward it. Zero, zilch, zitch, nada, no passion. It didn't light me up. So before the program even started, I was already not wanting to do it. When I talk about being sustainable, it's also this thing like, is it something that if you're talking long-term, because I know it's really easy to think in the short-term to kind of like Frankenstein all these different things together in your business and try and like figure it out, right? Like you're just trying to figure it out, you're spinning your wheels, you're feeling stuck, you're feeling kind of just like stagnant in this thing, and you're trying to like figure out, piece together programs or ideas or sustainability. But when I talk about being sustainable, is this something that you have experience in and you're so lit up and you're so passionate about that you can literally talk about it for years to come? Like if you're a business, if you're in business, you're not even selling your products. You're not even selling your services. You're selling you. You have got to show who you really are. You've got to tap into yourself and ask yourself the question: Is this something that I one? Is it something that I actually have experience in? Show people, tell people, talk about how you've created it in your own life. Because here's the thing that's true: if you're a coach, if you're a consultant, like you've been doing whatever it is you're doing, whatever it is that you're called to do, you've been doing it your whole life. You just didn't know it yet. Something the second question I want you ask yourself: Is it sustainable for you? And I'm not saying that whatever you pick today has to be your forever. Check in with yourself, if you just tap into how you feel when you talk about this thing, if you tap into how you feel about this area in your life and you get lit up, whether you get super excited, if you get lit up, or even if, I dare say, even if you get angry about something, pay attention to that. Follow that because success leaves clues. Love talking about Interior design, right? So what is it for you that's sustainable for you? And again, I'm not saying you have to stick to this for the rest of your life, because as you know, we evolve and grow, so do our businesses. Because you guys, I could talk about sales, I could talk about marketing, I could talk about business, I could talk about niching, I could talk about all of these things for the rest of my life, and I get to. So Is it sustainable for you? Is it sustainable for you? And the last thing I want you to ask yourself is, is this the type of person I actually want to work with? Is it sustainable for you? Is this the type of person— do you have a calling for it? Do you have a unique experience that's going to set you apart? Do you have the passion? And is it sustainable for you in the way that— is this the type of person you actually want to work for, with? Work with, and you know what? This might take a lot of trial and error. So allow yourself the grace to do that because I wouldn't know what I know today if I didn't go out there and fail big time. Like I failed so big in 2014 that I literally went crawling back to my corporate job. What I know now that I didn't know then is that if I just would have kept readjusting. If I wouldn't have allowed one failure, two failures to define who I was and to like make me believe that I was a failure, if I would have allowed that failure to just be feedback and to be information that the niche I was chasing was wrong, who knows where I could be today, right? But I truly believe that each one of us goes through what we go through to prepare us because we we need to know. We don't know what we know until we know it, right? We don't know what we know until we know it. So you guys, if you are interested in going deeper into your niche, niche, whatever you want to call it, if you're interested in going deeper, I am actually doing a class. It is going to be an hour and a half class where it's, it's like a 4-week course condensed. I'm going to give you so much information about it, tons of value. I'm going to go deeper into actually how to define and define your specific niche. So this is going to be— there's going to be some Q&A as well so we can go deep into exactly what your business is. It's hard for me to speak in a general way about it because, you know, each one of us has different unique businesses. But if you are a woman in business and you're looking to really define your niche, you want to be able to niche to get rich, niche to get rich, then join my class. It is the Niche to Get Rich Masterclass. It is a 4-week course condensed into 1.5 hours. So we're going to go deep. There's also a VIP option where you can get more support in that. I'm going to post the link real quick here. If you love the content that we talked about today and you're looking to really niche down so that you can create yourself, put yourself out there, and really like position yourself as the expert, as an influencer, and know how to talk about your magic and what you do in a way that doesn't feel sleazy, in a way that you can make sales without having to be salesy, because that is something that I really have mastered in my own life and my own business. People are always like, but I see you do sales sometimes, but like you don't really— I don't sell. I don't sell, but I sell, you know. So if you want to learn how to really dive into that and, you know, niche down so that you can create the income and make the impact that you truly desire, because here's the thing, you guys, if you can stand out and speak to your audience in a way that they're like, You get me. You understand me. I want to teach you guys how to get so much into their mind and into their heads that you're like I am, where I can literally—I know my audience so well at this point that I know what they're thinking, right? Like I'm about to do a huge summit, which I haven't really announced yet, but it's going to be coming up. We were going to start on the fifteenth, but you guys. In full transparency, I wanted to hold space for the things that were happening in the world right now. We have women of all backgrounds and ethnicities— I couldn't say that word— who are in this summit. And to be respectful, I really wanted to hold space for the conversation that's happening in the world and not create a distraction. So that's going to come up later. But you know what? When I'm doing those interview series and when I'm speaking to these women, it's like I know so much about my niche. I know So much about what they're thinking that I'm literally like hearing the questions through their through their mind. I'm hearing what they're saying, and I know them so well that like literally you guys, I know the narrative, right? And when you get to that place, you're able to step out, stand up, and create so much impact in the world. You're able to make such a difference in your business that like you get so lit up. You're like me. Like I wake up in the morning and I'm like. Ah, what's gonna happen today? I get to work with this person and this client and this client, and I'm so excited, and it's beautiful. And you know what, guys? Like, I have so much freedom in my business today because I've been able to define my niche and really step into that. I've been able to step into it unapologetically and be like, yeah, you know what? I work with badass, unapologetic women who are out there to create income an impact. I'm— I work with women who are so unapologetic about their desire to create multiple 6 figures so that they can create a life for their family that they never had, so that they can go out there and create bigger impacts. The more income you make, the bigger you can step out in the world, the more causes you can, you can donate to, the more ways you can show up. And like, like me, I get to do ministry because I have so much freedom in my business at this point, because I built out my team, because I have the income to do that. And you guys, I'm not saying this to brag whatsoever, but during COVID I had like this huge— like, I was supposed to be traveling, I was supposed to be speaking on all these events, and that all got shut down. So what happened is I got to not only provide 2 full-time jobs to women who previously didn't have income, would have been completely without income during COVID I got to hire 2 full-time people, and my business grew bigger than I could have ever understood. Like, it doesn't even make sense, you guys. It doesn't even make sense. And that is because I've been able to define my niche, step out as, you know, like the go-to person in my area, and, you know, be attractive, be where people are like, oh my gosh, I want that, right? You don't have to sell. You don't have to be hard-pressured. You don't have to like be pushy or press anybody because you know what, like I don't. Like, I can't tell you the last time I inboxed someone and asked them for a sale or whatever it is, because you know what? I wake up in the morning and my inbox is filled with people who want more information. People reach out to me. People come out of the woodworks out of nowhere and are like, I've been watching you. I love what you do. I love your energy and I want to work with you. How do I work with you? I can't tell you the last time that I even advertised one-on-one coaching because like I've, I've been full. Every single time that I come to that space where I'm energetically like aligned to like, huh, maybe I should take on another client, or you know, I'm opening up some space and like boom, they come in my life. Guys, this is absolutely possible and it's possible for you too. So again, I posted the link. Hello, Kristen Klug! You don't sell, you get customers to want to buy and connect to you. Because otherwise, you guys, it literally feels like you're just throwing spaghetti up against the wall. Seeing what sticks, right? You're throwing this program out there seeing if it works. And when you walk away from this class, you're going to know. You're going to know exactly who you want to work with, and you're going to have the tools to move forward and have that guide to know exactly where to go after this. Because that's the thing, I hate it when people talk about, you got a niche, you got a niche, you got a niche, but how? How do you actually do it? How? So I want to help you guys get there. This is going to be so much fun. This is a Friday masterclass. It's going to be amazing. There's also an upgrade option where you can get more support as well. So, you know, pick what works for you. Buckle your seatbelts. That was a crazy ride. But in the second half, I got to step out. I got to show the world what I'm really made of. And when you stand there on December 31st of 2020 and the clock's about to strike midnight, And you say, 2020 was my year. 2020 was the year that I said yes to myself. 2020 is the year that I said yes to my calling in a way that nothing, nothing was going to hold me back. Not a pandemic, not riots, not disgusting, like injustice going on in the world, that instead of, of playing into it or buying into it or staying in the fear, you get to step out and boldly say, yes, I get to be a change maker. I get to be a difference in the world. I get to be the one who stepped forward. I get to be the one who took action and made a difference in the world. That is my hope for you.
