Day Two | Social Media Marketing For Business Masterclass with Business Coach Val Nichols

In this second day of Val Nichols’s Social Media for Business Masterclass, Val walks participants through two core, repeatable frameworks for simplifying social media strategy. First, she introduces the “Power of 3” – identifying three core characteristics of an ideal client, three main content topics, and three sub‑topics for each, turning a chaotic content plan into a predictable weekly calendar. She demonstrates how to generate these lists, shares personal anecdotes (e.g., a single Facebook post that earned $7,500), and stresses that over‑complicating content kills momentum. Second, she expands the strategy into the “4 Pillars of Content Creation”: Educate, Inspire, Entertain, and Motivate to Action. For each pillar she explains the ideal format (carousels, reels, personal stories, humor, calls‑to‑action), how it aligns with algorithmic favorability, and how it can be used without feeling salesy. Throughout, Val weaves themes of authenticity, generosity, celebration, ADHD‑driven simplicity, and community engagement. She also previews upcoming topics (80/20 rule, platform selection, content types) and repeatedly invites participants to share their work, join the group, and celebrate milestones.

We have several things we give away. This is very common for me in my business because we lead with generosity. That is one of our key things. That's one of our, our pillars of our company, which you guys are going to learn all about here in just a moment. So let's jump in. We have a lot of content to cover today. So let me know, is that okay, you guys? Can we just jump? right into the content? Let me know. Okay, great. Because I never want to go forward without your permission. So let's jump in the content. Let's do this thing and let's get it rocking. All right. So today we're going to be talking about, again, we're going to cover a lot of information. So I want you guys to grab a pen and paper because this is going to be very interactive. You will be actually figuring out what your content pillars are. And you will be learning all about the power of 3, which I have devoted every single one of my businesses on. And I've also— we have created brands, we've created— I've worked with hundreds of entrepreneurs at this point, and we have done amazing, incredible things with them, their brands, their sales. And we've helped them to grow and scale their businesses leveraging the power of social media, which can absolutely be your 24-hour hour-a-day sales team. So let's rock it out. I'm going to jump in here. All right, you guys, do you like my beautiful poinsettias? Aren't those pretty? So pretty for Christmas. I can't, just can't help myself. All right, so let's kick this off. We're going to talk about the power of 3. What are the 3 main characteristics of your ideal client? What are 3 topics and what are 3 subtopics? So chances are you guys are probably just like me in the beginning, overcomplicating the crap out of your social media content. And it really does, you guys, it really does get to be this easy, right? So we're going to talk about the power of 3, and I want you guys to write this down, drop it in the comments: it gets to be easy. All right, can we agree with that? Moving forward, I want us all to be on the same page, and I want us to agree that it gets to be easy because most likely you're overcomplicating it. You're overcomplicating it. So let me bring this back up. Today we're going to cover the topic: the power of three. And my clients hear me talk about this all the time: the power of three, the power of three, the power of three. Right? So we are going to create your social media strategy. We're going to do 3 main characteristics of your ideal client, 3 topics, and 3 subtopics. Are you guys excited? Let's rock this out. All right, moving on up. Okay. Your client's top 3. I want you to take a moment and write down what are the 3 main characteristics of your clients? Are they professional? Are they students? Are they retired? Maybe they're single moms. Are they, um, male, female? Are they employees in corporate? Are they small business owners? You know, really write down the top 3 specifics of your ideal client. And I don't want you guys to get so much in the weeds on this that you are writing down this like avatar, right? I do believe in, speaking to your ideal client, but I don't think you need to get so specific that you're like, her name is Becky, she's 45 years old, she buys Starbucks every single morning and drinks her vanilla mocha choca smoka latte. We don't need to do that. But if we remember these 3 characteristics, right, what are the main 3 characteristics of your client? What is their employment? Are they a local Right? If you are a real estate agent or someone that has a brick and mortar, are they a local person? Are they a single income family that lives in Vermont? Are they a professional? Are they a coach? Are they someone who's looking to buy their first home? Are they male or female? Or do they own businesses? So on and so forth. So we don't want to get too complicated. Don't get too in the weeds. Just literally write down your. 3 top characteristics, and then I'm going to give you guys some examples. So jot those down. Don't overthink it. Again, you guys, let's remember our motto: this gets to be easy. It gets to be easy, you guys. Hitting your first 6 figures in your business is easier than you think. So let's stop overcomplicating it. Let's do this and let's jump in. And you guys, for those of you who know, I am ADHD AF. So if it's not easy, you can tell by my, my calendars over here that are like highlighted and all the things. But if it's not easy, I'm not going to do it. If it's complicated, there's no way. I'm either going to sit in analysis paralysis, I'm not going to start it, or I'm just not going to do it, right? So this is why I teach these simple ways of, of creating your ideal client and creating your content strategy, because I know if I'm not going to do it, if I won't take the time to do all that, I'm not going to tell my clients to because I am a woman of integrity and I only do what I teach. I only teach what I do. All right, so let's hop up to number 3. All right, so 3 topics to talk about. Again, we're talking about the power of 3, you guys. This gets to be so simple and so easy. So what are 3 topics that you talk about? And here I have a an example of one of my clients. Um, you know, the 3 topics she talks about is public speaking, leadership, and personal development. Simple, simple, simple, right? Like I said, we don't need to overcomplicate. We don't need to be trying to reinvent the wheel or creating all sorts of like brand new kitschy, like cutting-edge content, because all we need to do right now is focus on the top 3 topics. So think about it. What are your top 3 topics? Public speaking, leadership, personal development. For me, it would be, um, business, social media, and living your best life, right? Like these are my 3 topics and I'm literally going to talk about that over and over and over and over again. You guys, this is so easy. It's so much easier than you think it is. And you are going to get to the point Where you feel like, holy cow, I just talked about the same thing over and over and over and over and over. Yes, yes, you do. Think about any great out there. Geico commercials—what do they tell you? The same thing over and over and over. Walmart with their falling prices or you know bargain prices—like they tell you the same thing over and over and over. And if you think about it, really, you want to be if you want to be the go-to person and be known. And stand out in your industry, you don't want to be talking about this and then that and these and all these different things because this is when people get really confused, right? Have you ever heard that? Let me know. Vulnerable moment here. Have you ever heard that from people who are sitting down with you? They're like, "What do you do?" And you start talking about it, and they maybe their eyes glaze over, and they're like, "Yeah, I just." I don't get what you do. I don't understand. And so the hard part about that is if people are not understanding what you do, they're not going to understand what's in it for them, right? They're not going to understand if you're talking about all these different things and all these different topics and you're saying, I can do that and I can do this and I can do this and I can do that and I can do this. You want to be known in a way that people are like, oh, that's the person I need to go to. That's the person I need to refer. This is why I hit the follow button because I want to hear these topics and I want to be on point. Plus, then the algorithm is going to favor you because you are creating consistent income. I'm sorry, consistent content with the same topics. Guys, this is such a key thing to listen to. Like, I'm going to repeat that in case if we missed that because that is a huge. Difference between someone who's going to be seen on social media that the algorithm is going to favor, that people are going to understand what you're about. If you stick to this, the power of 3, people will get it. Otherwise, they're going to keep scrolling past your content. They're not going to understand. And confused minds never buy. Confused minds never buy. Clarity is rich. Clear, concise communication, clear, concise content creation is what gets you the cash, is what gets you the sale, is what gets you the amazing clients. But broad is broke. Broad is broke. All right. How are you guys feeling? How are you doing? Let me know, weigh in on the comments. How are you doing here? And we'll continue in. So now that we have our 3 topics, we have our 3 characteristics of our clients, we have our 3 topics, and now we're going to break it down to 3 subtopics. Remember the examples that I used were public speaking, leadership development, or leadership, and then personal development. So our subtopics, we're going to look at the 3 subtopics. So off of public speaking, um, I put the example of as a student living in the virtual world of Zoom calls and digital communication, it is more important than ever to be able to speak well. So what are the 3 main subtopics that you have on your 3 topics? Let's say your topic was business. Maybe it would say the things you need to know when starting your business. Subtopic could be, um, how to grow your business, right? Because there's different stages in business. There's startup, there's growth, there's scaling, and then there's maintenance, right? So like there's different like pillars, there's different subtopics of business that I talk about, right? Because what people are thinking about when they're starting their business with, you know, absolutely nothing, zero, they are like taking that leap, is so much different than how I approach a client who's now in the growing or the scaling phase where they're now having to release some control, release some things. They're wearing all the hats, they're growing. Now they're hiring teams. Now they're doing a lot more automation. There's a lot of different topics when it comes to business. So for example, let me look here. Leadership, right? So another subtopic for leadership would be, example, the world today seems flat. It's as if we were globally connected to all of you, that all you have to do is lift your cell phone and connect with someone in Germany, Australia, or scroll through the jungles of Africa with just one swipe. This is why developing your leadership skills is more important than ever, because we are entering the world of a global economy. So if you think about that in leadership, that's kind of an out-of-the-box way of thinking of leadership, right? It's not just this ChatGPT, very generic, like leadership is a pillar of a business, right? Like we want to really get into these subtopics. And you know your content, right? You know your craft. Imagine as you're creating these subtopics, you want to actually feel like you're sitting down talking to a client. What are the most biggest, like what are the topics that come up the most? What do you get asked the most? And at this point, you know, 6, 5 and a half years into Val Nichols Coaching, I have, I'm so much in the head of my clients. Like I know exactly what they're thinking. That if I'm doing a podcast interview, if I'm on stage, I know what they're thinking. And people will be like, oh my gosh, it's like you're in my head. I've had content that— I had one piece of content that I was honestly terrified to create. I wrote it on a plane at 5 o'clock in the morning. And by the time I landed in San Diego, I wanted to delete it. And that one piece of content One social media post, one post on Facebook made me $7,500 in less than a week. So that's the power of content. That's the power of social media. That is the power of connectivity. That is the power of the topic, the power of 3 that we're talking about. All right, so here's another subtopic example. Power of three personal development example of a subtopic would be if you are sick of watching YouTube videos and investing in more Grubhub than humanly possible, maybe it's time for a change. Instead of developing your latest TikTok, why not spend an hour with actual humans and develop yourself and grow your Your business, so personal development. Notice how that makes it very specific, right? Like who's not going through scrolling through TikToks and spending too much time on Grubhub, sitting around when we could actually be around humans, right? Like we can be around humans and invest in ourselves and develop ourselves through personal development. Honestly, one of the best things I've ever done. The Best investment I've ever made is in myself, right? Because we can't do this alone. We can't do this alone. Being in community and with people who get it, so amazing. So amazing. All right. So to review, you're into your power of 3. What are your 3 main characteristics of your ideal clients? What is the 3 topics you talk about? And that could be, you know, you don't want to limit yourself and put yourself in a box. But really, if you talk about these 3 topics over and over and over, create subtopics, you have content for the rest of your days, the rest of your days. And so what are your 3 subtopics? That's it. It's that easy. What do you guys think? I mean, honestly, if I were to tell you guys it was this easy, you probably wouldn't believe me. But now that we're walking through it, can you now see that if you have 3 topics and then 3 subtopics off of that, you already have a week's worth of content, right? So you just keep developing that and growing it. And you could literally take those 3 topics, those 3 subtopics, and just talk about those over and over and over, lather, rinse, repeat, and you would be done. You would have content. You would never have to worry about what you're going to say ever again on social media. And you can just do your thing. You can do your thing. All right, so next we're going to talk about the 4 pillars of content creation. This is so important, you guys, so important, because we don't want to be the people who are on social media just shoving things down people's throat. And we talked about this yesterday, so go back and watch the replay. Go to valnickels.com/events. Sign up so that you can get the replay because we talked about how you know you don't want to be the business that feels salesy, sleazy. We do heart-centered, authentic, beautiful content creation here at Val Nichols Coaching. And if you're watching this now, this is you. We are in this together. We are shoulder to shoulder for you, for me, for us, for the world because people are at the point where we've been so oversaturated with Commercials and advertisements and salesy people and people in your inbox and all these things, and people looking at us like numbers. Like we are, we are just, we are just, I mean, at wit's end, right? And so people don't want to be sold to, but they love to buy. They love to buy. So how do you put yourself out there on social media? Create a beautiful presence, create a beautiful strategy. You now have your, you have your ideal client 3, you have your 3 topics, you have your 3 subtopics. Now, how do we create it? How do we organize it all together? So it's beautiful and we feel authentic. We look like a real human being, right? Because we all want to buy from real humans. We don't want to buy from a bot, right? So how do we do that? And that is through the 4 pillars. Of content creation. So if you notice again, simple, simple, simple. You guys, this is not hard. We are probably overcomplicating it because that's what we have a tendency to do, right? All of us overachievers out there, I see you, I am you, I get it. And so you know we want to keep it really simple. Four types of content to create. You want to educate, you want to entertain, you want to inspire, and then you want to motivate to action. Again, educate, inspire, entertain, and motivate to action. So when we talk about educate, you want to think about the top 3, right? Like, what are your— like, you're doing a reel. Let's say you're doing a reel, and we're going to talk way more about the actual types of content and which platform you should be on to get the most impact. We are going to talk about that tomorrow on day 3. So do not miss it. Go sign up. It is going to be amazing. So when we talk about educating, this is going to be your carousels, maybe infographics. If you're using a reel, if you don't know what those are, that's okay. We're going to go more into this tomorrow, but if you want to do a reel, that's maybe like the top 3 things you need to remember for leadership. The top three ways to grow in personal development in 2024. So you want to be educating. This is oftentimes for those introverts out there. I have had clients all across the board, and I've had introverted clients that are like, Val, I am not you. I'm not going to go on a live, and I'm not going to be like, like I'm not going to show my face. I say, okay, great. You don't have to. That is good news for some of you out there. You are like, so you can do like a screen record. You can create, you know, maybe you're showing some client, like you're showing people how to do something, right? Like maybe if you're doing SEO and you're like, I'm going to show you how to use GoDaddy and create a better SEO strategy in your business. And you can go on and actually screen record that. You can also do the basic like TikTok reel type, like top 3 videos, you know, like the pointing or however you want to do that. Right now, what you want to do is have a short-form video and then say see caption, because that's what's trending right now as of today, December 12th, 2023, on social media. So, you know, you want to create your educational pieces. This is showing people how to use your product. This could also be you know, educating people on the benefits of your product. Why should they buy your socks over other socks? Like, what's the difference, right? Why should they— how do you help people? And maybe you're helping them create something or see something in your business that they may not have even known you offer. So this is going to be a great way to put yourself out there, to create credibility, and to show people that you are on the cutting edge. Right? You want to show people you're on the cutting edge because 80% of people now look for some sort of social media presence before they make a purchase. And I know this is kind of far behind. It depends on who your ideal client is. But Gen Z, we talked about this yesterday too, Gen Z and the Alpha generation who are coming up, they've got their, you know, they're going to be getting in the workforce here soon, but they also have parents who are paying for the things that they're purchasing, right? So they are going to be looking on social media, and they're actually going to use TikTok and YouTube as a search engine when they make their buying decisions. So yes, you definitely want to be relevant. You want to be on social media. You want to show people that you're cutting edge. You want to show people that you are innovative and that you are You're here. You're here. All right. So next you want to inspire. Inspiration posts are great. And the one thing I want to share with you guys that I see out there, and I know I love the intention, I know the well-meaning intention of it, but so often people are just like sharing other people's quotes, right? And so it's great that you love Wayne Dyer's quote, or it's great that you love Whoever, like Rich Dad Poor Dad's quote. But why does it matter, right? If you're just sharing an inspirational quote that's someone else's, it's like, okay, cool, that's fun, but you're probably not going to get a lot of traction. Whereas, you know, I did this on my Instagram the other day. You guys can go check it out and see. I shared a quote and I said, you know, much like this quote, I am reminded of Da da da da da. And then I shared my own take on it. I shared an inspirational story that I had personally gone through, and you know, then it was like, okay, now it's personal. I'm sharing this quote, but it's also you see me in it, right? Because you don't want to just be sharing out inspirational stuff. You can, but it's probably not going to develop a relationship with your ideal clients. It probably won't build that beautiful community that you want. And you know, it's not necessarily going to create some raving fans if you're just sharing other people's quotes all the time. So create something that is personal. You know, share your take on it. You can also share inspirational stories, whether it's from your past, which are also building credibility. If you're like, hey, look, this is where I've been. This is where I'm at, right? Like I've shared stories in the past where I went from having six figures in my bank account, you know, sold a bought sold a house. Between 19 years old, I bought my first house, and then 23, I sold it. So I had a lot of cash, right? I had a lot of cash in my bank account. And unfortunately, because I went through the dark night of the soul, you know, became like— started drinking a lot, was doing some, some, you know, things that I shouldn't be doing, and ended up sleeping in my car because I was so full of pride. I was too afraid to ask for help. And so thank God, you know, 12 Here I am like 13 years later and I'm here. You know, now I have that money again in my bank account. I live in a resort. I have beautiful businesses that I love. So that's another way of inspiring people. And then you can also share your client inspirations as well. And that's going to help people start thinking like, oh wow, if she has social credibility, if she is, you know, sharing these things, if she's helping people do this, What can she do for me? Right? So that's another way you can share your inspirational content. Next, entertain. You want to entertain. And I don't mean— hear me when I say this— I don't mean that you have to go onto TikTok and learn the latest trends, the latest dance, the latest like Monologue, whatever it is. You don't need to do that. Entertaining is not that, right? And this is where we get to remember that one, what was our what was our goal? What was our motto today? It gets to be easy. And two, it gets to be fun. It gets to be fun. I don't know if there's any of you out here like this, but I grew up overly responsible as a child. Again, I bought my first house at 19. I've been overly responsible almost all my life besides those that five-year period of drinking and partying and all that. But I don't know if I really knew how to have fun. And I'll be honest with you, there was a point in my life where I realized I had this judgment about people. That were on social media. I had a judgment about people that were having fun, who weren't taking life so serious, because I was like, one, they're never going to be successful because I gotta hustle, work hard, do the things. I've got to be perfect. I've got to like, you know, total perfectionist in my younger days. And I had this idea of what success was going to look like. And I also judged people who were having fun because I thought, well, they just must not be successful. They must just not be serious about life. They must be unintelligent. Who in the heck gave them permission to do that, right? And I can't tell you how many things in my life that used to— you know, I've done so much inner work, you guys, and I know a lot of you have too. But like, I did this inner work and I realized so much of my judgment of other people was like— I was like, who gave them permission Who gave her permission to go on social media and talk about the million-dollar year she had? Who the heck gave her permission to go on and flash her engagement ring that her perfect boyfriend just got her? Who gave her permission to be seen and to share her opinions? Like, I literally judged people. And I share this because I really want to speak to that one person, the people who are relating with this. Right? Entertaining means it gets to be easy and it gets to be fun. It gets to be easy and it gets to be fun. So I'm a pretty— I have a weird sense of humor, you guys. Like, I'm always kind of joking around and, you know, like, I do take life serious, but I've also learned how to have a lot of fun and to play again in my life. And I've learned to let myself off the hook because what I've learned is we cannot let anybody off the hook until we let everybody off the hook, including ourselves. So once I allowed myself to have fun and play, like I actually am, I'm pretty, I think I'm hilarious. I hang out with myself all the time, but I'm actually pretty lighthearted and funny out there, and like I'll talk really fast, and I joke around, and you know, like I'm vibrant, and like I've learned to just like be light. And so entertaining can be anything from go do the TikToks if that's what you want to do. If you want to show people something that's funny that you saw, or share a funny story, or you know, sometimes I'll be in the grocery store and I'll see a product and I'm like, oh. Oh my gosh, is this serious? Like, is this really? Or like a marketing flop or something that is just fun. Show people that you have a personality. And if you don't yet, great. Go out there and find something. Allow yourself to play. I can't tell you how often I have women, men, people who are, who come to me who maybe they're in the corporate world or they're building their businesses. And I'm like, How often do you play? When do you take off? When are you spending time with your family? And they're like, um. So have fun. Entertain, not just for your clients, for yourself. Allow yourself permission to have fun, to be in the flow, to be in the play, to be in the energy of celebration. So create entertaining content, and it's going to absolutely change the depth of your brand and your business. Number 4, motivate to action. Gotta love— look at this face, you guys, on that dog. Oh my gosh. So motivate to action, right? And what I mean by this is you want to motivate to action, motivate your clients. You want to get them in the space where they are trained. You are, you are helping them. You are inviting them to take action. You are inviting them To do something, right? So what do you want them to do? And if you're using this entire four pillar method, people are going to be. You're not going to be the one who's just like sales, sales, sales, sales, sales, call to action, buy, buy, buy, buy, buy because nobody's going to want to follow you. You're probably going to get like blocked. You're probably going to get like all the things. But when we talk about motivating to action, what do you want them to do? What action do you want them to take? Right? And this doesn't even have to be a sales action. This could be me asking, like yesterday I said, hey guys, what are you committed to creating in 2024? There's power in saying it out loud. There's power in sharing these things with other people. There's power in bringing this into fruition and trusting the universe, trusting God, trusting miracles and trusting yourself. That's way more motivating than, hey, I have a sale, trying to make my $300 commission check, help me out, right? Motivate to action. And the way you do that is going to be dependent upon your brand, your brand's voice, what you sell, who your audience is. But there's beautiful, incredible ways to invite people into an offer, to invite people in your world, and to repeat those— have those repeat customers that are now going to be your 24-hour sales team, right? Your social media will be your 24-hour sales team. But the reason why you want to create this beautiful balance of the 4 pillars is you want to show people, you know, educate. Educate can absolutely be a sales method. Inspiring, absolutely a sales method. Entertaining, yep, you can sell there. Motivate to action, yes, you can sell there too. So just know that each one of these pillar types, you can be prepping people, you can be sharing through education how your product works, right? Like if I'm like, hey, this pen, I mean, it is, it's so incredible, this is my Tony Robbins pen from Unleash the Power Within. When I broke a board with my hand, I'm still shocked that I did that. I was like, bam! And so, you know, like this pen, if you are sick and tired of leaky markers everywhere, right? And you have like the ink on your hand, maybe your kids get a hold of it and they just drew all over your sofa. Like this pen can never be transferred onto a couch. Or skin. I'm making this up, but you know what I mean? Like, educating on the pen is now going to be like, oh my gosh, I want that pen. I want this pen. Why this pen? Oh my gosh, it's amazing, right? So in each one of these, you can be selling. You just don't want to be sell, sell, sell, call to action, call to action, you know, really like over the top. So when we go back to review We talked about the power of 3, your 3 main characteristics of your ideal client, your 3 topics, and your 3 subtopics. It's easy, it's simple, it's straightforward. And then we talked about the 4 pillars of content creation. You want to educate, you want to entertain, you want to inspire, and you want to motivate to action. So if you are using these in, I mean, literally like 20%, 25%, 25%, 25%, 25%, You could even take your 3 topics and your 3 subtopics and then go, okay, leadership. I'm going to educate on leadership. That's it. You create content on that. Inspire. Okay, now I'm going to inspire on public speaking. So maybe you share about how you were so terrified the first time you went up on stage that you were just sure your hands were shaking and you never thought you'd be able to even stand on a stage again. And then you did, right? So you can take those 3 topics, the 3 subtopics, and then create the 4 different pillars off that, and you have content for the rest of your life. That easy, that simple. Do you guys love it? Oh my goodness, you guys, thank you, thank you, thank you. So remember, it gets to be easy. This is the 4 pillars of content creation. This is the power of 3. Tomorrow we're going to be talking about the 80/20 rule, which is going to be another beautiful way that you can be crafting and planning out your content. We're also going to be talking about other topics as well. As far as building out your social media, we're going to talk about the different types of content. So Reels, Stories, Instagram, which platform you should be on. Because that's one of the biggest questions I get all the time is which platform should I be on? I'm like, it depends. I would love to tell you one specific one, but it's going to depend upon your audience, where they hang out, what your message is, what your style is, what your preferences are in showing up, how your client reads content or consumes content, and then also the size of your audience. So there's a lot of different factors in place. There's not one platform for one person that's going to just work, right? So we're going to talk about the different types of platforms and which one you should be on to best leverage your business depending upon all those factors. So thank you guys for everyone who shared this out. I very much appreciate you. Thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing this. Whether if you hit the share button and you let me know, or if you tagged us on social media, we've been keeping a list of all the people who've shared. We talked about creating that beautiful business, why you need to create the social media, why you need to use social media in your business, all the things. I shared a little bit of my story. So go back and watch that. We've had so many incredible things. So I want to start out with some wild celebration. For those of you who don't know, celebration is huge in my company. We celebrate like crazy because so often we are going from thing to thing to thing and we are not actually taking the time to acknowledge ourselves and to celebrate. So I want to celebrate all the beautiful things. I have people here in my mug that says, I woke up awesome. Can you see that? It's beautiful. I woke up awesome. I have everyone who shared out in their stories in here. So I'm going to be doing a drawing later this— after this training. And also, I want to celebrate yesterday. We had the challenge to go in the group and share what you were committed to in your business in 2024 and beyond. So from here on out, what are you committed to creating in your business? And we had several people tune in, we had several people chime in and share with us that they were committed to writing their book in 2024. They were committed to their first 6-figure year in their business starting now. Starting now, the clock is ticking. So I want to give you guys some wild celebration for that. I'm so incredibly excited. And so today we are going to kick this off. And please do share this out. You can either click the share button, share it onto your page, share it in a group. And then also, if you can take a screenshot and you can share it onto your Instagram stories, I would very much appreciate you. And I'm going to enter you in a drawing to win some incredible prizes. We have several things we give away. This is very common for me in my business because we lead with generosity. That is one of our key things. That's one of our pillars of our company, which you guys are going to learn all about here in just a moment. So let's jump in. We have a lot of content to cover today. So let me know, is that okay, you guys? Can we just jump right into the content? Let me know. Okay, great. Because I never want to go forward without your permission. So Let's jump in the content. Let's do this thing and let's get it rocking. All right. So today we're going to be talking about, again, we're going to cover a lot of information. So I want you guys to grab a pen and paper because this is going to be very interactive. You will be actually figuring out what your content pillars are and you will be learning all about the power of 3, which I have devoted every single one of my businesses on. And I've also, we have created brands, we've created I've worked with hundreds of entrepreneurs at this point, and we have done amazing, incredible things with them, their brands, their sales, and we've helped them to grow and scale their businesses leveraging the power of social media, which can absolutely be your 24-hour-a-day sales team. So let's rock it out. I'm going to jump in here. All right, you guys, do you like my beautiful poinsettias? Aren't those pretty? Pretty, so pretty for Christmas. I can't, I just can't help myself. All right, so let's kick this off. We're going to talk about the power of 3. What are the 3 main characteristics of your ideal client? What are 3 topics and what are 3 subtopics? So chances are you guys are probably just like me in the beginning, overcomplicating the crap Out of your social media content. You guys, it really does get to be this easy, right? So we're gonna talk about the power of 3, and I want you guys to write this down, drop it in the comments. It gets to be easy. All right, can we agree with that moving forward? I want us all to be on the same page, and I want us to agree that it gets to be easy because most likely you're overcomplicating it. You're overcomplicating it. So let me bring this back up. Today we're going to cover the topic, the power of 3. And my clients hear me talk about this all the time. The power of 3, the power of 3, the power of 3, right? So we are going to create your social media strategy. We're going to do 3 main characteristics of your ideal client, 3 topics, and 3 subtopics. Are you guys excited? Let's rock this out. All right, moving on up. Okay, your clients' top 3. I want you to take a moment and write down what are the 3 main characteristics of your clients. Are they professional? Are they students? Are they retired? Maybe they're single moms. Are they male, female? Are they employees in corporate? Are they small business owners? You know, really write down the top 3 specifics of your ideal client. And I don't want you guys to get so much in the weeds on this that you are writing down this like avatar, right? I do believe in speaking to your ideal client, but I don't think you need to get so specific that you're like, Her name is Becky. She's 45 years old. She buys Starbucks every single morning and drinks her vanilla mocha choco smoka latte. We don't need to do that. But if we remember these 3 characteristics, right? What are the main 3 characteristics of your client? What is their employment? Are they a local, right? If you are a real estate agent or someone that has a brick and mortar, are they a local person? Are they a single-income family that lives in Vermont? Are they a professional? Are they a coach? Are they, um, someone who's looking to buy their first home? Are they male or female? Or do they own businesses? So on and so forth. So we don't want to get too complicated. Don't get too in the weeds. Just literally write down your 3 top characteristics, and then I'm going to give you guys some examples. So Jot those down. Don't overthink it. Again, you guys, let's remember our motto. This gets to be easy. It gets to be easy. You guys, hitting your first six figures in your business is easier than you think. So let's stop overcomplicating it. Let's do this and let's jump in. And you guys, for those of you who know, I am ADHD AF. So if it's not easy, you can tell by my my calendars over here that are like highlighted and all the things. But if it's not easy, I'm not going to do it. If it's complicated, there's no way. I'm either going to sit in analysis paralysis, I'm not going to start it, or I'm just not going to do it, right? So this is why I teach these simple ways of, of creating your ideal client and creating your content strategy, because I know if I'm not going to do it, if I won't take the time to do all that, I'm not going to tell my clients to, because I am a woman of integrity. And I only do what I teach. I only teach what I do. All right, so let's hop up to number 3. All right, so 3 topics to talk about. Again, we're talking about the power of 3, you guys. This gets to be so simple and so easy. So what are 3 topics that you talk about? And here I have an example of one of my clients. You know, the 3 topics she talks about is public speaking, leadership, and personal development. Simple, simple, simple, right? Like I said, we don't need to overcomplicate. We don't need to be trying to reinvent the wheel or creating all sorts of like brand new kitschy, like cutting edge content because all we need to do right now is focus on the top 3 topics. So think about it. What are your top 3 topics? Public speaking, leadership, personal development. For me, it would be, um, business, social media, and living your best life, right? Like, these are my 3 topics, and I'm literally going to talk about that over and over and over and over again. You guys, this is so easy. It's so much easier than you think it is, and you are going to get to the point Where you feel like, holy cow, I just talked about the same thing over and over and over and over and over. Yes, yes, you do. Think about any great out there. Geico commercials, what do they tell you? The same thing over and over and over. Walmart with their falling prices or, you know, bargain prices, like they tell you the same thing over and over and over. And if you think about it, really, you want to be— if you want to be the go-to person and be known And stand out in your industry, you don't want to be talking about this and then that and these and all these different things because this is when people get really confused, right? This is why I hit the follow button, because I want to hear these topics and I want to be on point. Plus, then the algorithm is going to favor you because you are creating consistent income— I'm sorry, consistent, uh, content with the same topics. Guys, this is such a key thing to listen to. Like, I'm going to repeat that in case if we missed that, because that is a huge difference between someone who's going to be seen on social media that the algorithm is going to favor, that people are going to understand what you're about. It's not just this ChatGPT, very generic, like, leadership is a pillar of business, right? Like, we want to really get into these subtopics. And you know your content, right? You know your craft. Imagine as you're creating these subtopics, you want to actually feel like you're sitting down talking to a client. What are the most biggest— like, what are the topics that come up the most? What do you get asked the most? And at this point, you know, 6, 5 and a half years into Val Nichols Coaching, I have— I'm so much in the head of my clients. Like, I know exactly what they're thinking, that if I'm doing a podcast interview, if I'm on stage, like, I know what they're thinking. And people will be like, oh my gosh, it's like you're in my head, right? I've had content that— I had one piece of content that I was honestly terrified to create. I wrote it on a plane at 5 o'clock in the morning, and by the time I landed in San Diego, I wanted to delete it. And that one piece of content, one social media post, one post on Facebook made me $7,500 in less than a week. So that's the power of content. That's the power of social media. That is the power of connectivity. That is the power of the topic, the power of 3 that we're talking about. All right, so here's another subtopic example. Power of 3, personal development. Example of a subtopic would be, if you are sick of watching YouTube videos and investing in more Grubhub than humanly possible, maybe it's time for a change. Instead of developing your latest TikTok, why not Spend an hour with actual humans and develop yourself and grow your business. So personal development, notice how that makes it very specific, right? Like, who's not going through scrolling through TikToks and spending too much time on Grubhub sitting around when we could actually be around humans, right? Like, we can be around humans and invest in ourselves and develop ourselves. through personal development. Honestly, one of the best things I've ever done, the best investment I've ever made is in myself, right? Because we can't do this alone. We can't do this alone. Being in community and with people who get it, so amazing. So amazing. All right, so to review, you're gonna do your power of 3. And you could literally take those 3 topics, those 3 subtopics, and just talk about those over and over and over. Lather, rinse, repeat, and you would be done. Go to valnichols.com/events. Sign up so that you can get the replay because we talked about how you know you don't want to be the business that feels salesy, sleazy. We do heart-centered, authentic, beautiful content creation here at Val Nichols Coaching. And if you're watching this now, this is you. We are in this together. We are shoulder to shoulder for you, for me, for us, for the world because people are at the point where we've been so oversaturated with. Commercials and advertisements and salesy people and people in your inbox and all these things, and people looking at us like numbers. So if you notice, again, simple, simple, simple. You guys, this is not hard. We are probably overcomplicating it because that's what we have a tendency to do, right? All of us overachievers out there, I see you, I am you, I get it. And so, you know, we want to keep it really simple. 4 types of content to create. You want to educate, you want to entertain, you want to inspire, and then you want to motivate to action. Again, educate, inspire, entertain, and motivate to action. So when we talk about educate, you want to think about the top 3, right? Like, what are your— like, if you're doing a reel, let's say you're doing a reel, and we're going to talk way more about the actual types of content and which platform you should be on to get the most impact. We are going to talk about that tomorrow on day 3. So do not miss it. Go sign up. It is going to be amazing. So when we talk about educating, this is going to be your carousels, maybe infographics. If you're using a reel, if you don't know what those are, that's okay. We're going to go more into this tomorrow. But if you want to do a reel, that's maybe like the top 3 things you need to remember for leadership. Right now what you want to do is have a short-form video and then say see caption because that's what's trending right now as of today on December 12th, 2023 on social media. So, you know, you want to create your educational pieces. This is showing people how to use your product. This could also be, you know, educating people on the benefits of your product. You want to show people that you are innovative and that you are You're here, you're here. All right, so next you want to inspire. Inspiration posts are great, and the one thing I want to share with you guys that I see out there, and I know I love the intention, I know the well-meaning intention of it, but so often people are just like sharing other people's quotes, right? And so it's great that you love Wayne Dyer's quote, or it's great that you love Whoever, like Rich Dad Poor Dad's quote. But why does it matter, right? If you're just sharing an inspirational quote that someone else's, it's like, okay, cool, that's fun. But you're probably not going to get a lot of traction. You can also share inspirational stories, whether it's from your past, which you're also building credibility if you're like, "Hey, look, this is where I've been. This is where I'm at," right? And this is where we get to remember that, one, what was our— what was our goal? What was our motto today? It gets to be easy. And 2, it gets to be fun. It gets to be fun. I don't know if there's any of you out here like this, but I grew up overly responsible as a child. Again, I bought my first house at 19. I've been overly responsible almost all my life besides those— that 5-year period of drinking and partying and all that. But I don't know if I really knew how to have fun. And I'll be honest with you, I— there was a point in my life where I realized I had this judgment about people that were on social media. I had a judgment about people that were having fun, who weren't taking life so serious. Because I was like, one, they're never going to be successful because I got to hustle, work hard, do the things. I've got to be perfect. I've got to like, you know, total perfectionist in my younger days. And I had this idea of what success was going to look like. And I also judged people who were having fun because I thought, well, they just must not be successful. They must just not be serious about life. They must be unintelligent. Who in the heck gave them permission to do that? Right? And I can't tell you how many things in my life that used to, you know, I've done so much inner work, you guys. And I know a lot of you have too. But like, I did this inner work and I realized so much of my judgment of other people was like, I was like, who gave them permission Who gave her permission to go on social media and talk about the million-dollar year she had? And I've learned to let myself off the hook. Because what I've learned is we cannot let anybody off the hook until we let everybody off the hook, including ourselves. So once I allowed myself to have fun and play, like, I actually am— I'm pretty— I think I'm hilarious. I hang out with myself all the time. But I'm actually pretty lighthearted and funny out there, and like, I'll talk really fast and I joke around and, you know, like, I'm vibrant and like, I've learned to just like be light. And so entertaining can be anything from go do the TikToks if that's what you want to do. If you want to show people something that's funny that you saw or share a funny story or, you know, sometimes I'll be in the grocery store and I'll see a product and I'm like, Oh my gosh, is this serious? Like, is this really? Or like a marketing flop or something that is just fun. Show people that you have a personality. And if you don't yet, great. Go out there and find something. Allow yourself to play. I can't tell you how often I have women, men, people who are, who come to me who maybe they're in the corporate world or they're building their businesses and I'm like, How often do you play? And if you're using this entire 4-pillar method, people are going to be— you're not going to be the one who's just like sales, sales, sales, sales, sales, call to action, buy, buy, buy, buy, buy, because nobody's going to want to follow you. You're probably going to get like blocked. You're probably going to get like all the things. But we talk about motivating to action. What do you want them to do? What action do you want them to take? Right? And this doesn't even have to be a sales action. This could be me asking, like yesterday I said, hey guys, what are you committed to creating in 2024? There's power in saying it out loud. There's power in sharing these things with other people. There's power in bringing this into fruition and trusting the universe, trusting God, trusting miracles and trusting yourself. That's way more motivating than, hey, I have a sale, trying to make my $300 commission check, help me out, right? Motivate to action. And the way you do that is going to be dependent upon your brand, your brand voice, what you sell, who your audience is. Like, if I'm like, hey, this pen, I mean, it is— it's so incredible. This is my Tony Robbins pen from Unleash the Power Within. When I broke a board with my hand, I'm still shocked that I did that. I was like, bam. And so, you know, like this pen, if you are sick and tired of leaky markers everywhere, right? And you have like the ink on your hand, maybe your kids get ahold of it and they just drew all over your sofa. Like this pen can never be transferred onto a couch. Or skin. I'm making this up, but you know what I mean? Like, educating on the pen is now going to be like, oh my gosh, I want that pen, I want this pen. Why this pen? Oh my gosh, it's amazing, right? So in each one of these, you can be selling. You just don't want to be sell, sell, sell, call to action, call to action, you know, really like over the top. So when we go back to review We talked about the power of 3— your 3 main characteristics of your ideal client, your 3 topics, and your 3 subtopics. It's easy, it's simple, it's straightforward. And then we talked about the 4 pillars of content creation. You want to educate, you want to entertain, you want to inspire, and you want to motivate to action. So if you are using these in I mean, literally like 20%, 25%, 25%, 25%, 25%. You could even take your 3 topics and your 3 subtopics and then go, okay, leadership. I'm going to educate on leadership. That's it. You create content on that. Inspire. Okay, now I'm going to inspire on public speaking. So maybe you share about how you were so terrified the first time you went up on stage that you were just sure your hands were shaking. And you never thought you'd be able to even stand on a stage again. And then you did, right? So you can take those 3 topics, the 3 subtopics, and then create the 4 different pillars off that. And you have content for the rest of your life. That easy. That simple. Do you guys love it? Oh my goodness, you guys. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. So remember, it gets to be easy. This is the 4 pillars of content creation. This is the power of 3. Tomorrow we're gonna be talking about the 80/20 rule, which is gonna be another beautiful way that you can be crafting and planning out your content. We're also gonna be talking about other topics as well. As far as building out your social media, we're gonna talk about the different types of content. So reels, stories, um, Instagram, which platform you should be on, because that's one of the biggest questions I get all the time is which platform should I be on? I'm like, it depends. I would love to tell you one specific one, but it's going to depend upon your audience, where they hang out, what your message is, what your style is, what your preferences are in showing up, how your client reads content or consumes content, and then also the size of your audience. So there's a lot of different factors in place. There's not one platform for one person that's going to just work, right? So we're going to talk about the different types of platforms and which one you should be on to best leverage your business depending upon all those factors. So thank you guys for everyone who shared this out. I very much appreciate you. Thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing this.
