Val Nichols talks about binging on fear—sweaty palms, racing heart, nervous stomach—and getting a coaching challenge to act on something terrifying by end of day. She frames it as a choice: stay stuck or say heck yes and move.

Hi ladies and good morning, High Vibe Tribe! For those of you who don't know me, my name is Val Nichols and I am coming at you this morning to talk to you about the biggest, ugliest F-word that I know. That's right, fear. Oh my gosh, so I have a huge confession to make. I have been binging On this word, this word fear. I've been binging on it. Here's the thing: none of us are immune to fear. We all have it. We all feel it, and sometimes we let it allow us to hold us back. I'm not immune to it. I am definitely not immune to my fears and my self-doubts, but here's the thing that I get to do today. So I was challenged yesterday to do something that I am absolutely terrified to do. To someone else, it might not make any sense why I have so much fear around this, but Yesterday, in a group call with my coach, we were each challenged to do something that we are absolutely terrified to do. I am scared. I have this visceral feeling in my stomach every time I think about it. My heart goes pitter-patter. I get nervous. I get anxious, and I get excited. And here's the thing: my coach gave me a deadline till today at. At, gosh, 11 o'clock our time, noon Pacific time, I am to take action on this fear and to do something that I am absolutely terrified to do. But here's the secret: everyone has fear. No one is immune to fear. I have been doing this work now for over a decade. I have been encouraging other women to act on their fears And so if I were to stand here, right here before you today, and not take action on this thing that I have been challenged by my coach to do, then I would be a total and complete hypocrite. Because I am accountable to you women. You are my sisterhood and you are my tribe. So I am here today to say that even though I feel so much fear that literally my hands, my palms are sweaty right now just talking about this. My heart is just beating so fast, and even though the thought of taking action brings up so much fear in me, I am not going to allow the fear to take control because I choose how my life is going to be today. I have the choice to either let my fear consume me so So much and so badly that I'm going to freeze and take no action, or what I can do is make the choice that even though I'm afraid, I am going to make this action today, this choice today to make my yes a heck yes. Right now, today, I'm going to do it. I'm going to take action because I have the choice today to live the life that I choose because it is a result of the choices that I am making that this amazing life has come around me. And on the other side, if I were to let my fear consume me so much that I either take no action, I wait too long, or I surrender to my fears and then don't do this thing that I am so excited and So just overwhelmed and excited to do, then what's going to happen is next time I have fear, the fear is going to win. I don't want to let this win. I don't want to let my fears win because what's going to happen is if I make a choice today based on fear, my entire life is going to be consumed by fear. And next thing you know, my subconscious that's doing its job is gonna keep me in such a safe place that I'll just be living a safe, mediocre job life. So ladies, if you're with me and this is resonating with you today, if you have a fear that you need to take action on, I Allow us right here today, write about it right here today, and allow your sisterhood to encourage you and to lift you up and allow us to hold you accountable. Because that is what I'm doing right now today is I'm being accountable to you because I'm going to have my decision today to take action on this thing I am so afraid of. I want it to be a heck yes. Because this is an opportunity that literally I manifested into my life. I spoke words about it not even 3 weeks ago. I was talking, my husband and I were in the sauna. We do a sauna every night or every Sunday night once a week until I burnt my hand. So I'm in repair, but we were doing a sauna one night and I said, hey, I have this vision. I have this dream and I know it sounds really crazy. You might not understand it, but this is what I want to do. And he said, wow, yeah, that sounds pretty cool. So not even 3 days later, I'm not kidding, the opportunity fell on my lap for me to be able to do this thing. And in an accountability call yesterday with my, my coaching group, I talked about it and they said, okay, yeah, we want to see results. We want to see you take action. Within 24 hours, and so here I am today. I have a deadline. Gosh, I'm probably about three or four hours out. Then I'm going to take action because if I don't take this opportunity right now today and seize this moment, then fear is going to win. So ladies, I want to encourage you today: don't let. Your fears win. I get it. I'm not immune to fear. I have fear. Half of them, more than half of the fears that I have never even come true. Give me some hearts if you know what I'm talking about. Comment below if you know what I'm talking about. How all of these fears that we create in our minds and just go with and we can just unravel and spin on all these crazy things. That are never even going to come into fruition. Most of the fears that we have in life would never even happen, yet we act as if they are already real. So I want to encourage you today that you're not alone in your fears. We all have fears. And I'm not talking about the healthy fears of if you see a bear, you should run, because yeah, that's a pretty big fear. But how often is that really going to happen in your life? I'm talking about those fears that hold you back from doing the thing that you know in your heart that you want to do, but you hold back because you're afraid of disappointing someone. You're afraid of, of talking about your dreams and your goals and your visions. Or maybe you're just afraid that people aren't going to take you seriously. Well, I'm here to tell you today we all have fear, and the difference between a successful person and an unsuccessful person is a successful person is going to acknowledge that fear, but they are going to take immediate action. They are going to be accountable to people, and they are going to take immediate action, and they're going to take action on their fears regardless of whatever it is that's holding them back. Because it is our job, it is my job with the women that I work with, to uncover those fears, get to the bottom of what is really going on underneath that fear, and say, okay, so you have fear. Now let's take action toward Getting beyond that, and let's create the life that you know you have always wanted—that life that you know you are worthy of. I know there's some women out there today that maybe they're living a great life, maybe they have a great job, great relationships, but there's this gnawing feeling inside that there has got to be more. Well, I want to help you uncover that more that's in your life. I want to help you look at the things in your life that you are great at. What are your spiritual gifts? What are you striving toward? I want to help you uncover that more, and it all starts with one thing: letting go of this, letting go of the fear, getting beyond the fear. And taking action regardless of the fear. Ladies, you are my sisters. I love you, and I want to thank you for allowing me the space today to get in front of you and tell you that I'm gonna do this. I'm gonna take action on my fear today. I can't wait to tell you more about what's gonna happen. And I can't wait to hear some of your guys' stories about the fears you have and the actions that you're going to take. I love you. I am your sister and I am your tribe. So let's share this sacred space that we have here and let's finish today strong. Love you.
