Money Mindset Bootcamp Day One - Winning At Money & Telling Your Money What To Do

In this live‑style kickoff for the Money Mindset Bootcamp, Val Nichols addresses her "Wild Tribe" of women entrepreneurs, emphasizing that financial success is 80 % mindset and 20 % strategy. She frames money as an energy that can be directed when you reclaim the power to "tell your money what to do." Val shares personal stories of being stuck at $5K‑$10K months, spiraling into $80,000 of debt, and ultimately achieving zero debt through daily money tracking, disciplined credit‑card use, and mindset reconditioning. She explains how early childhood conditioning and the instant‑gratification culture of credit cards create harmful financial habits, citing statistics about bankruptcy, divorce, and suicide linked to debt. Val highlights the Hawthorne effect—measuring your money improves it—and provides client success anecdotes where women transformed modest incomes into six‑figure earnings. Practical habits are offered: daily account reviews, saying “no” to unnecessary spending, and treating wealth as a measure of impact rather than status. The session ends with a call to action for Day 2, encouraging viewers to comment on their biggest takeaway and promising deeper personal stories and homework.

I'm seeing that there is a huge need to get our money mindset into shape. So comment below, let me know if you're here, if you're watching, what is your main reason for jumping on this training today? What is your main reason for jumping on this training today? Because I want to let you guys know what you're going to get from this training is you're going to get your money mindset back into shape, because there's a lot of us out there, and I'm not making anybody wrong if this is you, but there's a lot of us out there who are flabby and out of shape when it comes to our finances, our wealth, our money, all those things. We're a little bit flabby and out of shape, so what we're gonna do is Trainer Val is here to kick you into gear. So what you guys can count on from me is, you know, super fun, quick, Amazing trainings where we're gonna go deep. We're gonna get you sweaty. Not really, not physically sweaty, but you know you're gonna really get out of these trainings the mindset and the capabilities that you need because winning at money. Write this down if you're taking notes. As a matter of fact, you should be taking notes because if you know me, you know I go quick. I go quick. I go fast, and you're going to get a ton. Of value out of this training, because I have a tendency to overgive, to overserve, and to give it all, you guys. So here's what you need to write down: winning at money is 80% mindset, 20% strategy. And I could literally tell you that about your business, about your relationships, About your money, about your wealth, about your cash. It is 80% mindset and 20% strategy. The problem you have with money, and here's why it's so important for you and your business, because when we're talking about the 80/20 rule, which I just talked about, which I just shared about, is that when it comes to your money, that it's 80% mindset and 20% strategy, what that means for you is that you have the power and you have the choice to choose a different thought. You think about the fact that 80% of your, your money, your wealth, and your money, winning at money, 80% of it is your mindset, 20% of it is strategy. That means that every single area of your wealth that isn't as healthy as you would like it to be, if you're not living in exponential abundance, if you are not living in a place where, you know, like I've talked about before, if you're hitting a plateau in your business, if you're hitting that place where maybe you just can't seem to get through, you can't seem to break through that ceiling that's been created. You know, I remember a time in my life when I was stuck at the like $5,000, I don't know what it is about $5,000 a month that's like this dream for entrepreneurs, for online entrepreneurs. I think that's because like if you can make $5,000 a month, then you've arrived, or you've done it, or you can then quit your corporate job, right? Like these are always the goals that we seem to have. And so if we hit that $5,000 a month, I remember thinking that, that wasn't as much as I was making in corporate, but I remember thinking like, And then once I hit that $5,000 mark, it was July of last year, no, well, I hit my first $10,000 month in July of 2018, and then went back down, you know, because that was like so big, I got afraid, I was afraid of making that much money, and then I like retracted really quickly. I actually ended up having a completely failed launch for this like beautiful, gorgeous program that I poured my heart into, And so then I found myself just like plateauing at this $5,000 a month. And so if you find yourself like plateauing and can't seem to break through, then remember the key phrase of winning at money, breaking through is 80% mindset, 20% strategy. When it comes to your money strategy, your money mindset, your breaking through your money mindset, you know, I'm going to tell you You guys, the truth, because that is my job, to tell you the truth. The truth is the choice is yours. You 100% have the ability and the power to choose something new, to choose something new, because if the money starts and ends with your mindset, that means that your wealth and your money mindset It starts and ends with you. Think about that. For some of you guys, that might feel very elating, like, oh my gosh, that's amazing. I have the choice. I have the power. And then others of you guys might hear me say that and be like, wait a minute, girl, what are you talking about? You mean that all my credit card debt starts and ends with me? You mean that my student loan starts and ends with me? You mean that this and this and this? Yes. I 100% mean that it starts and ends with you. And you guys, I've been there. I've been in the debt. I've been in, you know, all of these things. And like, hallelujah, praise the Lord, I do not have debt anymore. But there was a time in my life when I was drowning to the point that like— and I'll share my story deeper tomorrow. But I was literally like, I didn't know how to even start to begin to dig myself out of this place I had gotten. and I didn't even know how to get out. All I knew was that I was sick and tired of being sick and tired. I was sick and tired of not being able to get good interest rates or to get, you know, I remember the power company like charging me a huge deposit just to get power. I remember having to put down a ton of cash just to get a cell phone, to get a credit card, like All the things, right? Yes, I had to put a deposit down to get a credit card at one point. I'll share more about my story tomorrow, but I just wanted to, you know, let you guys know that I'm sharing from my experience, and I'm sharing from what has worked, proven methods that I've taken clients through. I've been doing programs like this for years. I also have my Woman of Wealth and Worth, which we dive even deeper into your mindset and your worthiness, your confidence. And, you know, in running that, I've seen huge results. I've seen women like manifest what they invested for the program in 2 weeks. You know, like I've seen women go from, I had one woman go from making zero sales in her real estate company to within 2 months manifesting $26,000 to pay her tax bill. You guys, this is real, this is real stuff. And it's like that Hawthorne effect, you know, I don't know if you guys ever heard of that, it's okay if you haven't, But the Hawthorne effect says that if you, anything you measure will grow. So if you're paying attention to your money mindset, if you're paying attention to the health of your money mindset, and you're really working on it daily, just like you would your muscles, you know, I'm gonna use a lot of like analogies, like exercise analogies, because as you guys can tell, I lift weights. And you know, it's all about it. Like, you know, I've trained for races, I used to run like half marathons, And 10K is a lot, and so it's like, it's a lot about getting yourself into shape, and I use the same analogies in building my wealth, in building my money mindset, because, you know, again, it's 80% strategy, or 80% mindset, 20% strategy. So when we talk about this, you know, I wanna talk about why this is important for you. So if you're watching this right now, and maybe you're thinking, okay, so why is money mindset important for me? Why should I really care about what I think about money? Why should I really care about, you know, flipping the script and changing the narrative that's going on in my mind about money? Because here's the deal, your thoughts become your behaviors that become your actions that then go back and reaffirm your thoughts. I'll repeat that. So your thoughts become your behaviors, which become your actions, your reality, which creates then your thoughts. So what ends up happening is then you're in this cycle. Do you guys see how that's like a cycle that happens? And so then you're in this cycle where next thing you know, you're spiraling. And as you know, if you're in a good money mindset, if you're in a good thought process that's creating where you're always looking for evidence for how you can create more money, or how you can get your hands on more cash, or how you can, more importantly, how you can pack into the stream of life and create more opportunity that's a win-win situation, you'll get in this spiral, and you can very, very easily go up, and you can very, very easily go down. So, if you find yourself in that money spiral, in that mindset spiral, what ends up happening is it puts a strain on relationships, right? Like, let me know right now if you have had a strain in your relationships because of money. Let me tell you that a huge percent of divorces or breakups, I think I've heard it's like 65%, don't quote me on that, but I'm thinking just off the top of my head, 60% 5% of relationships ending, marriages ending, are over money. It puts a strain on relationships if one spouse is not contributing the same way the other one is, or if talking about money is uncomfortable. And why is this important to us? Because money literally is just, it's just an energy, it's just a thing that we've created It's a thing we've created and we have put emotional charge on it. Remember I said it starts and begins with you. We've created stories and a lot of times, you know, it's not even us that's creating the story because 80% of what you— your subconscious mind is telling you, your mindset, 80% of what your mind is telling you was given to you, was ingrained in you before the age of 7. 7 years old. You guys, just think about that. If you were to let a 7-year-old decide what you do with your finances, but literally this is what we're doing in our day-to-day life. We are unconsciously walking around allowing our 7-and-below-year-old self to create our money mindset. Isn't that like crazy? But it's true. Hey, Shan— I'm sorry, Chandra. I had a little like a little tongue twist there. Hey, Chandra. Hello, hello, my love, if you're still watching. So here's the thing, like what ends up happening is a lot of us are like, for lack of better words, I guess like unconscious to the fact that we're going around with these mindsets that have been ingrained in us or given to us. And so this is where you see things where like you're seeing these reactions and you're like, I don't even know why. Whenever I talk about money with my spouse or whenever he brings up a bill or whenever my phone payment is due, I don't know why I get this visceral reaction and I get like triggered. I don't know why, it's as if like I don't even know why these patterns are coming up, right? I hear this all the time and this is because it's deeply ingrained in us to either respond that way, react that way or whatever it is. So here's the thing, like 69— I'm trying to remember, I just heard this on a podcast— 69% of people who file for bankruptcy is because of credit card debt, 69% credit card debt, because we are living in this like False safety of plastic. We're living in this sense where we're walking around with our little 3-year-old, 4-year-old, 5-year-old version of ourselves who's throwing a fit. I know this sounds really crazy, guys, but stick with me. We are walking around with little like 4, 5, 6-year-old versions of ourselves who are throwing a fit going, I want it now. I want it now. Right? Like, I want that cute purse on the internet, and it's so much easier for me to pull out this piece of plastic, because this piece of plastic will give it to me and give it to me now. Right? Like, we're living in a society where we've been conditioned that we want it, and we want it now. We want what we want, and we want it now. And 69% of people who are filing bankruptcy, it's because of credit cards. Like, we're using cash that we don't even have. And we're not using it, like it's one thing if you were using your credit card to like invest in a program that you knew would better your income, or would better your business, or you know, going to a rah-rah seminar that's gonna really like uplevel you, or you know, whatever it is, like that's one thing, or you know, investing in school, because I know a lot of people go into credit card debt for school, which is a whole nother conversation for another day. I've done it, don't even use that degree. I mean, really, don't really use my degree. Well, okay, maybe that's not true. But anyway, let's not go down that rabbit hole. But like, it's one thing to invest in something that's going to give you a return on investment, right? But if you're like most people who have credit card debt, are not investing in things that are going to be an asset, they're more of a liability, right? I mean, and I hate to even go here, but like honestly, I heard a really startling— I don't know if you guys knew this, but April was Mental Health Month, and I heard this really startling statistic that just like stuck with me, because I get like, oh, money, you know, it's an energy, it's not even like a real thing, but we put so much value on it. Guys, that I heard a startling statistic that a huge percent of people who are— who commit suicide is because of debt. Like, that's frightening. And if that doesn't motivate me to share this message of hope and to share the message that we have— we can tell our money what to do instead of wondering at the end of the month where our money went. If that doesn't motivate me to share this message with you right now, I don't know what else does. So I remember a time in my life when I worked in restaurants, and I worked in this really swanky, like, nice, beautiful restaurant. Like, I don't know if you guys know anything about this, but like, the Portland Trail Blazers, they would come in, and they would like, after their games, or they'd bring their like girlfriends into this restaurant. It was really beautiful. It was on the 32nd floor in this downtown building in downtown Portland, Oregon. And like, all the bankers would come in, and I just remember like looking at their lifestyle. Like, I didn't even know anything about their lifestyle, but you know, they were talking about these lavish vacations. sharing pictures about their, from their trip from Greece, you know, talking about their mansions and their Bentleys and, you know, all these things. And I remember like they'd always pay with their big metal credit cards that were like black cards, or they'd have their big thick metal platinum cards. And I remember like creating this story about it, like, oh my gosh, one day I'm gonna have that platinum card. And My life is gonna be so beautiful, I'm gonna have a Bentley and I'm gonna drive around these, you know, I'm gonna like be surrounded with beautiful people and I'm gonna be doing all these things and I always like, that was my goal. My goal was to get that thick platinum credit card that had, you know, $100,000 limit on it so that I could, I like, I would arrive at that moment, I would arrive. Here's the deal. Today, I have that thick platinum card, and you know what it means to me? Absolutely nothing. That limit stays at zero most of the time because I pay, you know, because you get a lot of rewards. So I put everything on my card, then pay it off at the end of the month. But that— what I mean by that is like The mindset I had then about what many, what money meant to me, what the money would create for me was absolutely wrong. Today, what wealth means to me, what creating a beautiful income means to me doesn't mean what I'm going to get, it means, wow! Look how many people I get to serve, look how many people I get to share this with, you know, when I'm getting phone calls from my clients, when I'm hopping on with them and they're sharing things with me like that they've only told select few people, you know, I'm not gonna share anybody's story, but like, you know, they're sharing details like marriages and pregnancies and things like that and like I'm one of the first people to know, That's what it means to me. When I get to walk a client through being a chicken, you know, like a little chicken in their business where they're not even seen, they're making great money, but they're constantly beating themselves up trying to get to that place where they feel good enough, get to that place where they are enough, and I get to help them open their eyes and see that they're never going to be enough in their own mind if they continue this cycle the hamster wheel of spinning and spinning and spinning and being sick and tired of being sick and tired, and then watching the light come on when they realize that they've been in their own mindset jail. They've been behind bars in their own mindset by limiting themselves, by thinking that a number creates their reality, by thinking that a number somehow equates their worth, thinking that something external, something beyond themselves creates their value. When I watch a woman step into her power and be like, this is who I am, and she goes out and she does Facebook Lives and she's unapologetic and she turns into such a badass and she's making money and she's asking for what she's worth and she's more than doubling her income and all these things are happening and she's making like $40,000 a month in her business when she wasn't even making $1,500 consistently. That's what income means to me, because it shows that I get to create impact. Remember what I said, your, your money mindset starts and ends with you. And that's a great responsibility, but it's also a great blessing and a great power that we get to step into. We get to step into. So the last thing I'm going to leave you guys with today is when it comes to you know your money mindset and like plastic and credit cards and all of those things, you know, I think that the one thing we really need to do that's going to be the healthiest thing in your life, in your business, in your relationships, is to get really clear and get really used to saying the word. No. No, that's a complete sentence. And you know, like if there's people out there that are recognizing that you have a— maybe it's not in the red yet, maybe it's not a red flag, maybe it's an orange flag or a yellow flag. If you need to give your credit cards to somebody or if you need to learn how to tell yourself no more often, then absolutely do it, absolutely do it. Because when you can click onto this, when you can really hook onto this idea that your money mindset starts and begins with you, and that winning with money is 80% mindset and 20% strategy, that's why, you know, today I'm going deep into the mindset, I'm going deep into the reconditioning you, I'm going deep into the warm-up, right? Like, this is the warm-up for the rest of the week, because this is where we're warming up We're doing laps, I'm giving you a little bit of hard truths, I'm giving you some facts, some information to really like chew on, to sit with, to consider, and then tomorrow we're gonna go deep into, so I'm gonna share a little bit about my story, and then also share with you guys more deep impact that is gonna change your life, because this is what exactly what I did when I was, you guys, I don't even know how much debt I was in, because I was too afraid to look, I was too afraid to look at the reality and again, I'm gonna share way more about that tomorrow, but like I was too afraid to even look at my credit report, to look at my bank account, anything. Today, I look at my money every single day, every single day I look at all of my accounts, I look at all of my credit card statements so that I know, I look at my PayPal account, I look at what's coming in, I look at what's about to go out, I look at, you know, each one of my clients pays me, you know, they're on automatic payment or whatever. I look at my money today. So how did I go from well over $80,000 in debt? You guys, I'm not gonna like joke around about it at all. This is my reality. It's really, it's weird to say that now, but like from $80,000 in debt to absolutely zero debt, building a business with no money, I mean besides what I saved, you guys, like not like, no debt, building a business with no debt, investing multiple 5 figures in myself and my development last year, cash, cash. If I can do it, you can do it too. So I just want to leave you guys with that, you know, if you're wondering if this is for you, if you resonate with anything I said, Stay tuned. We're gonna go on a wild, fun, crazy, adventurous wild ride because we are the wild tribe, and we are going to take our money mindset from zero to freaking hero. It's gonna be so much fun. So you guys, thank you so much for tuning in today. This was our warm-up. Like I said, this is our warm-up. I'm just giving you some things to some things to think about. And tomorrow we're gonna dive right in. I'm gonna have some homework or some workbook for you tomorrow. So tune in. I'm gonna go live tomorrow at 4 PM Pacific. I hope you got something out of this. Let me know what landed for you, what stuck out for you, like what was the one takeaway.
