The thing is, being a founder isn't suitable for everyone, and that's the truth. I know so many people who were only slightly interested in starting and building their nonprofit,, but they wanted to make it instantly successful. However, they never got anywhere because they did not bother really putting in the time and effort, and they gave up along the way. I don't think many people really understand to achieve it, a person has to first have the right reasons and motivations so that their desire will truly stand the test of time. It's because it isn't easy to build a nonprofit organization. It isn't easy. You know, after talking to dozens of CEOs and some of my most successful students, I have distilled 3 reasons why anyone would want to be founder, and it's not what you imagine. Number 1, they're not afraid to take risk. Being a founder, you need to invest your time, money, and effort in order to build a strong nonprofit. However, despite the uncertainties, they remain steadfast, optimistic, and they remain focused toward their goals. Number 2 is they hunger for new learnings. They want to step outside their comfort zone to learn new things that could help them become better and effective. I don't want to stay in their own nutshell, rather they want to unravel possibilities, and there are so many possibilities. Number 3, they want to serve the people. This is their main motivation. They want to make an impact on other people's lives, and they want to make a difference. The moment you create one, the more people will benefit from it, and that makes it worth it. What about you? Do any of these reasons resonate with you? So I want you to get real clear on your reasons behind why you want to build your own nonprofit. Let's not talk about any of those superficial reasons. I want you to dig deep to truly figure out why you want to start one or if working for another organization would be more beneficial for you.
