Hey, nonprofit visionaries. I have a quick question for you. Have you ever said to yourself, we don't have enough time. I just cannot get enough done. I don't have enough time, staff, or funding to do all the things that you wanna do. Do me a favor, drop a yes in the comment if that's been you lately. Because trust me, you are not alone. Nonprofit work, it's really beautiful, but it's also so heavy. So today I'm gonna share with you 5 practical ways your nonprofit can do more with less using simple tools that are smart, budget-friendly, and they really are simple. Once you get the rhythm of it, it's amazing. So this is especially great for small to midsize teams who are juggling all of the different things from your programs to fundraising to social media, to your volunteers, to try to get the get this off the ground, right? So for those of you who don't know me, I'm Vanessa Lindsay, and I help nonprofit leaders simplify their systems, get their time back, and grow their impact without burning out. Because nonprofit work, we all know, can be a burnout. It's a lot of work. I've been there. I'm, I'm been in the thick of it. So what I wanna do is I wanna just talk to you about 5 simple strategies that can help you with doing more with less, or shall I say less with more? Okay. So number 1, Let's talk about automating repetitive, repetitive tasks. Some of our tasks are so repetitive because if you're a small to midsize nonprofit, you're probably doing a lot of the things yourself. You know, as the founder or the leader, you're, you're probably doing services and reports and fundraising. So let's talk about some of the things that we can do that you can automate that's kind of repetitive. So my tip number 1 is let's talk about those that eat up your day. Okay. So the sending thank you emails. Logging donations manually, copying info from one spreadsheet to another. Okay. Following up with volunteers or event attendees. These things are important after you have an event, but they can suck up your time. And as you're raising money, but you know, they don't need to take your time. What you need is a great system. And so with the right tools, you can automate your donor welcome letters, your volunteer reminders, your monthly reports, and even the birthday shoutouts. We want to, you know, shout out our birthdays to our board members and others that are helping us along the way, right? So tip number 2, repurpose your content. Let me ask you this. Do you feel like you're always writing something new, trying to think of something new, always writing something new? A new post, a new grant, a new newsletter, a new email. That could be very exhausting and it is exhausting. It's like, shh, does it ever end, right? But here's the fix. Write once, use it multiple times. That story that you told on the newsletter, it can become 3 social media posts, a donor appeal, a slide in your board meeting. Right? And your grant opening paragraph. So you can just use this to do so many different things. I like to call this content stacking. Let's stack our content and do a lot with it. Okay? AI tools can help you do this in seconds, but even without tech, just being intentional can save you so much time just sitting there and saying, okay, right now I'm not, I don't know the tech step, but right now what can I do with this one piece of content? Okay? But inside my community, I teach a full repurposing system that turns one idea into a week's worth of content. It's about working smarter, always working so hard. We just feel like we have to work hard, but we necessarily don't have to work hard. Tip number 3: streamline team communication. Let's talk about team overwhelm. Oh, it could be so overwhelming. Tell me if that sounds familiar to you, that you're just team overwhelmed. You have your board members, you have your volunteers, you may have your staff, you have your family that's like, okay, I'm gonna help you. There's so much overwhelm, and your staff or your volunteers are using so many different tools. They're using Slack, they're texting, Email, Google Docs, Post-it notes, all to manage one event. So you're having one event, everybody's doing all this stuff. Your board's here using, no, I like to do Google Docs. I wanna use this. And they're emailing you and it's like, ah, this chaos leads to missed deadlines and things falling through the cracks. Instead, why don't you try this? Use tools that track to-dos automatically, record your meetings and get instant summaries, and set up automated reminders for your tasks that needs to get done for you so you don't have to worry about having to chase people down and chase things down. You can use your time and energy We should go towards leading and not chasing updates. And we do that. We're like, oh my gosh, I gotta do this, right? So now let's talk about tip number 4. It can help you speed up your grant writing. How many of us would not like to have our grant writing sped up? Let's be honest, grant writing, grant writing is a beast. But the truth is you probably already have about 80% of the content you need. You just don't have it in the right format yet. Here's what helps. Use SMART tools to outline your responses based on funder questions. Let tech help adjust your tone so it fits their language. Sometimes we talk about what we want to talk, but we want to know— the funder wants to know about what they want to know. Okay, so you want to identify repetitive sections that you can reuse also in your proposal. Okay, so you really want to take a look at how does my language fit within the funder's language, and this is something that Grant— AI tools can help you with. My tip number 5, focus what actually moves the mission. It's like, what actually moves the mission? That's about you as the leader, you move the mission. Many of you are stuck doing $10 tasks when your brain and heart are built to deal $10,000 decisions. Using smart tools can help you delegate to tech. It can help you delegate so much so you can lead your team, you can cast your vision, and you can connect with your community. You didn't start a nonprofit to copy and paste spreadsheets, did you? No, you started to make an impact. So let tech do the repetitive stuff for you so you could do the work that really, really matters. And that is your passion. Okay. So to recap, recap this for you. Your nonprofit can start doing more with less by automating repetitive tasks, repurposing content intentionally, streamlining internal communication, focusing on and speeding up your grant writing and focusing your energy on high-impact leadership, because that's what's important. So none of this requires you to be a tech wizard. It's like, what now, Vanessa? You talk about, I gotta learn tech too. I don't have time to let tech— honey, let me tell you, I understand. Mm-hmm. But it just requires you to say, you know what? I'm ready to work smarter. I'm, I'm tired of working harder. Okay.
