A relief valve failed on a brewery tank during lunch, sending 500 gallons of pressurized beer through the dining room and knocking a patron off his chair. Someone yelled "free beer!" as it happened.
We're sitting there eating lunch, and then I heard what had to be the largest, the loudest explosion I've ever heard in my life. It was just like kaboom. And then immediately someone yells, free beer! And so the relief valve on the top of the tank failed, and it blew— the pressure blew the door out. Really? Full of 500 gallons of beer, knocked somebody off their chair. Beer's flowing through the restaurant.
