We're back, it's week 23. Don't call it a comeback, we've been here for weeks. Love Island UK was back on our screens this week, and you know what that means? eBay being title sponsors means all your pre-loved fashion items are going to be available for us all to watch. For the people who are wearing virtually no clothes. The contestants claim they're happy about the situation, though they're not so keen on the bedsheets. Next up, we got story 1 of 2 about ASOS. They say it always gets light before it gets darker, and this week is no different for ASOS. Their lead investor Fraser's Group, who are owned by distressed retail philanthropist Mike Ashley, increased his stake from 7.7% to 9.8%, giving that little bit of security for the brand for just another couple of days. Big news out of Nike over the last couple of weeks where they have been moonwalking their way back into wholesale commerce, away from the D2C model that has brought them so many plaudits all over the world. Proof if ever we needed that John Donahue is a turnaround CEO. Story 2 of 2 for ASOS this week. Just hours after distressed retail philanthropist Mike Ashley had secured a better future for the brand for at least a few hours, the credit insurers went all Vegas on them and pulled their service. This spooked some of the brands that they have in there who started pulling their stock allegedly from the brand's warehouses. The Trojan horse worth 4 times the current valuation seems like the best bit of business they're going to get all year. Do you remember the first time you sat down with your mom and dad and said, "Hey folks, all I want this year is my very own spatial computing device"? Well, you don't got to wait no more. Apple have gone and launched the very first spatial computing device. So there it is, that's a wrap. It's week 23. And if you've been trying to get hold of someone in Ireland to do some work for you this week and couldn't, the weather's been too good for us to really give a shit. So we have been outdoors enjoying ourselves, getting farmer's tans and living life without sunscreen all over our bodies. It's our constitutional right, it's what we're made up of, but we love it and that's how the Irish summer goes. Also a unique little feature, this was the summer of 2023 where Mana Drone Delivery delivered loop-the-loop ice pops little touch of nostalgia to kids around North Dublin area. If you haven't seen the Loop the Loop or Mana Drone Delivery, you're going to see a lot more about them because Mana Drone Delivery are launching in the US and they've said Mana Drone Delivery now for the fourth time. Not being endorsed by them, but I follow them quite a lot. Do we really need drone deliveries for ice cream in summer? Is this the kind of world that we want to live in? I'm going to let you debate that. We just bring you the news.
Government officials insist that this is an isolated incident. We will continue to keep you informed as this story unfolds.
