My tea's gone cold, I'm wondering why I get out of bed at all. AI posts clog up my LinkedIn feed, and that's just before midday. Or else it's all talk of Prime Day, but Jeff's picture on my wall, it reminds me that it's not so bad. Not so bad. Welcome to Week 27, it's the VSpot. First up this week, Prime Day. So first up this week, Prime Day. Church bells are ringing, we're tantalisingly close to that day of days or festival of commerce as it's now known. Reports this week suggest that up to £1.2 billion is going to be spent throughout the Amazon Prime festival. So what does that mean to us conscious consumers? It means that about 12 million unnecessary parcels are going to be spreading themselves out all around the country over the next week or so. On top of that, Amazon have told us that they expect to be an increase in the Buy Now Pay Later method for paying for this product. So we're going to buy more products with money that we don't have. It's a thumbs up from me. Story 2 this week: Five Guys Burger is now available via Uber Eats in the UK. Customers can now access over a quarter of a million burger combos right in the palm of their hand. With their signature unlimited toppings offer, giving them the chance to make the burger the way they want to do it. This marketing really writes itself. You can have Five Guys your way delivered to your doorstep. This is innovation that excites. Story 3 this week: Don't suck up. Just when you thought we didn't need another social media platform— we don't— Mark Zuckerberg, S&M demagogue, goes and launches Threads. In its first 24 hours, it took 30 million bored Twitter users onto the platform, who then went back to Twitter to complain about the platform. Next up, it's our story of the week. ASOS, the gift that keeps on giving, launched asossamples.com this week. Despite what the name suggests, this is not a sample store. It's a store where everything is on sale for £5. Yep, you heard it, folks, £5. The brand who professes to be focusing solely on profitable customers has built a standalone platform on Shopify selling products for £5. It's okay to test and learn, but you've got to do the learning before you do the testing. And in our final story this week, we're going to give you headline of the week. And during our research, we stumbled upon this gem from Business Insider in the retail and strategy section. The headline read, "How to start an OnlyFans account without any followers." Here's a sneak peek.
