YouTube video (posted March 24, 2025) by Vishen Lakhiani arguing that two skills—coding (now expressed as prompt engineering) and social media/communication—are decisive for career and business success. He cites Naval Ravikant's framing of two essential skills, references Kevin O'Leary's view that social media is a top skill, and positions Mindvalley's Social Media Summit (free event; last run ~18 months prior) and upcoming AI Summit (in July) as resources. He highlights speakers such as Brendan Cain and Nusair Yassin, mentions having ~80,000 signups last year, and promotes practical benefits (brand growth, revenue, scaling startups).

I was watching this interesting lecture by Nabal Ravikant, who's probably one of the most prominent like thinkers of our modern era. And he said that there are two skills, that if you learn these two skills, you are set for life. In fact, I believe he implied that if you learn these two skills, you may not even need a college degree. A good job is inevitable. And these skills apply whether you're a founder, an entrepreneur, it'll just magnify your business, or whether you're just, you know, you're trying to grow in your career. Now, the first skill is coding. Today, coding is replaced by prompt engineering. In other words, you don't need to know how to code. You need know how to prompt an AI to generate the code for you or generate the right output. Your input is more important than your output. Now, the second skill is this. It's social media. Speaking, presenting, and communication. Now, all of these can be lumped together. Today, the biggest platform for communication is social media. If you have both of these skills, you are unstoppable. But if you have one, either or you have an edge in life. Prompt engineers can earn salaries in the hundreds of thousands. And in an interview with Kevin o', Leary, Kevin o' Leary said that he used to think engineering was the most formidable skill one could learn. But right now, he says it's social media. He says, listen, if you know how to come tell a story, get a brand exposed, build an audience, build engagement, you'd get paid hundreds of thousands of dollars. Now this is why two of Mindvalley's most popular summits every year are AI Summit. That's still happening in July, but this month we're doing Social Media Summit for those of you who want to master the art of social media. These summits are part of our mindvalley Mastery Division, which creates micro degrees designed to look at areas that regular university doesn't really focus on. Because these areas are changing so fast, you can't create a structured curriculum. So Social Media Summit is completely free. Last year we had, I think 80,000 people sign up for it. You're all invited if you're interested in growing your social media brand. I'm really excited about the speakers. I like to bring in speakers that have really influence how I show up in social media. So you're going to hear from one of the most brilliant minds. That's Brendan Cain. He wrote several of the biggest textbooks on social media. Brendan is famous for going from zero to a million fans on Facebook in 30 days flat because of how he mastered the algorithm. You learn from people like Nusair Yassin, who built NAS Daily, one of the behemoths of social media. He does branding for countries at this point and many other incredible speakers. I'll be speaking as well. I'll be sharing how I use social media to build food awareness campaigns against major companies. And I was able to compete with their massive budget by creating videos, exposing their lies and getting these videos to pop. Really fun stuff. And of course I'll also be sharing how I've been able to leverage social media as a founder CEO to not just grow my brand, write three national best selling books, but also scale my startup to hundreds of millions in revenue. And that's the key thing. No matter what your product, no matter what your service, social media is a path to growing revenue by getting more people to hear about the good work that you do. So join us in this summit. It's going to be fun, it's going to be educational. Really excited about this one. Last time we did this was 18 months ago, so it doesn't happen often, but I'll see you in Social Media Summit by Mindvalley SA.
