Why plants suck. Not all of them, just most of them. For instance, kale. Right now, on a per calorie basis, kale is more expensive than grass fed steak. I promise you, it is not better for you. It's mostly water and fiber. Oh, and there's a couple other things in it. One of them is a toxic metal called thallium. And we just found out that kale absorbs that metal better than any other plant. That means that if you eat a lot of kale, you are at higher risk of getting toxic metal poisoning. But the big reason is that kale isn't a great choice for you. And raw spinach as well is a toxin called oxalic acid. It goes into your body. When you eat it, it sticks to calcium. Calcium is in your blood. But when calcium and oxalic acid meet, they form a razor sharp crystal that then circulates. It can poke holes in your gut, can cause inflammation, can cause food cravings. It's a major, major cause today of kidney stones and gout in your joints. Yes, kidney stones are tied directly to kale and spinach, especially when you eat them raw.
