Behind The Scenes Tour Of Lisa Nichols’ Spectacular Workspace | Lisa Nichols

A filmed on-location tour of Lisa Nichols’ Mindvalley-associated office in which Lisa leads Vishen Lakhiani (and viewers) through her workspace and explains how physical design and rituals support company culture. Lisa emphasizes sensory cues (scented candles, waterfall sound, music), brainstorm walls, communal celebration rituals (bells/horns when customers convert), a family-style kitchen stocked from staff grocery lists, an on-site gym, and a blackout nap/meditation room. The video also highlights Lisa’s leadership story (rising from financial hardship) and her role as a Mindvalley public-speaking trainer, promoting an upcoming masterclass and techniques such as the “dip” and “show me, don’t tell me.”
Chapters
Hey, Mindvalley community. I'm here with Agatha from Mindvalley and we're actually visiting a very, very, very special Mindvalley author, Lisa Nichols from Motivating the Masses. Come with us. Lisa is waiting.
Welcome, welcome, welcome, welcome. Welcome to my business home.
So we actually, we actually already did this tour and it was so remarkable that I'm asking Lisa to recreate it for you guys because there's so much you're going to learn about how this woman runs her company, starting from that.
Yes, yes. Come on in. So, you know, one of the things that steps into my office, I want all of their senses to immediately be engaged. So you can't smell, but there's a candle that's burning and it has an aroma to it. I want their hearing. I want them to hear waterfall. I want them to hear music. It took a while for me to get my team to realize that this was a non negotiable, that when you come in, I want you to see color, I want you to see warmth. I want you to be able to do business, but to do it in a space that feels good, relaxed and with ease.
And I love how you welcome all your guests with that. Yes. Who is that done with ladies?
Yes, yes. So we have a. It's a local promo and we can change it to say anything. Whenever we have guests, we modify this so that they feel welcome immediately, so they feel the special. And there's more and there's more. So I love to brainstorm big. So we cover our walls so that we all have enough space to literally just ideas and to allow the ideas to flow. And this is our brainstorm room, our mastermind room, and how we make great decisions. You'll see places throughout the office for people to huddle and communicate and connect. And there's always a candle. There's always something that's going to create the ambiance of connection, energy, love. And it feels homely. And the colors match the colors in my home so that they feel like it's an extension of us. And there's humor throughout the office. This is our open space. So this is a space where we come and we play, we celebrate, we do team building. We exercise every Monday together right here in this space. This is the celebration of our customers, our students, our clients when they take action into their own lives via a cell or via yes. And I'm gonna make a little noise so you can hear it. It happens. And watch what happens when the bell rings. So what you hear, what you hear are people beating the desk yelling, making noise because they know somebody took radical action in their life. They blow horns, they whip clappers, they do all kind of things.
I love the culture.
You follow me over here. And we decided to dress our walls with our students. So on the walls are students, our families. My mother's right here, My son is right here. So on the walls are our people from all over the world. Every time someone's birthday is here, their desk gets covered with all of the celebration to celebrate them, to let them know that they're special every single time. We decided we didn't just want to pay for health care, we wanted to pay for health and wellness and invest in our staff having a healthy lifestyle. And so we turn one of our offices into a gym. And then right here, when they want to rest, we have a lot of intensive work, and sometimes our team need to lay down. So we black out the entire room. We light candles around them, we put a blanket over them, and we take naps. And we encourage them to be still. Be still in meditation and wellness and healing. So we're excited about that. One of the most important parts of my office that I get excited about, we run a family style kitchen. And when I say family style kitchen, it's as if you came to my house or if I came to your house. We put everything out and everything is for everyone. So I'm inspired to do this from Google. So I learned from Google. Google. I just read up on Google years ago, about eight years ago, and the owners of Google decided if we remove all the basic needs from our team members food, their comfort level, then they'll have more time to focus on being genius and creative and brilliant. And so Google has five chefs, five different cuisine, master chefs, and all the food is free. I mean, it's amazing. And so I don't have enough resources right now for five gourmet chefs like Google, But I do have resources to have a grocery list. So my staff fills out a grocery list and I buy all the food. So whatever they put on this list, I buy.
And you personally shop for this?
Yes, and I shop for it and.
Make sure that everything.
Show us.
Show us the fridge, Lisa.
So when you go into the fridge, it's a community style refrigerator. So everything in this fridge is available for everybody. So if they want salads, get a salad.
So nobody's stealing each other's lunches.
No one's stealing, because it's all yours. And they get their favorite whatever, their rice, whatever bread, whatever they want.
And I noticed this too, Lisa. Tell us about these family rules.
Yes. So we're a family. We're going to make mistakes. We need to honor each other's journey. So respect one another. Laughed often. We have more laughter around this dining room table. Oh, by the way, this is my dining room table when I launched this company. Really? So this is. This table has history. A lot of prayer time in it. And so we'll make mistakes. We stand up for each other. Not one person ever takes the fall with the. With the customer. We all take the fall together. Doesn't matter where the error came from.
Love that.
So. And then I love. Well, let me show you these cabinets. So everything. Everything in the cabinets. Everything's for everybody. So what's really exciting is that I modeled my kitchen after Google, and then a year ago, I went to Google to speak, and I had the honor of actually eating in their gourmet cafeteria with their five gourmet chefs. And I was super excited, and they saw my excitement, and they were excited that I was so excited. And then I saw these infused infusers where they had a mint leaf infuser and they had a berry infuser, and they had, like, four different infusers. And I was wowed. And I made a note. I gotta go buy me an infuser. Well, a month later, I end up coming to the office, and there's a big box, and I open the box, and it was an infuser from Google. And then there's a note that said, you've inspired us so much, so we hope to inspire you with this infuser. You have a little Google in your kitchen again, this is my space. And everything, as you see, is designed to feel like home. Everything is designed to make you feel as if you're in a space where you can open up, be transparent, where you can trust us, and you can feel the love. In my office, you come in again, you hear the water. There's a candle that's always going to be lit somewhere. And there's couches and there's chairs. Instead of hard chairs, we want soft chairs. We want chairs that say, you're at home and our home is your home. And then we choose each other. We choose to heal together, learn together, grow together, inspire together. I hope I inspire you to be a better woman or a better man. This so many have inspired me to be a better woman. So with that, welcome to my home.
Thank you, Lisa.
You're welcome.
So, guys, I hope you enjoyed that tour at Lisa Nichols office. And, you know, Lisa. Lisa actually gave me that tour, and I was so blown away. There were so many little ideas. I was taking little iPhone videos to send to my team so they could implement them. But what I want to say is this style of running a business really works. Lisa, I believe you are one of only two African American CEO founders who have taken their company public. And you did this even though 20 years before you were so broke you could barely afford diapers for your son.
I could not afford diapers.
You could not afford diapers?
I wrapped them in a towel.
Yeah. Your. Your growth has been fantastic. Thank you for inspiring so many people. We're excited to have Lisa bring a new quest to mindvalley's quest Platform form. It's all about how to transform the world. How to use speech, your voice, your ability to communicate. Whether you're a boss or an employee or you're trying to inspire your kids or a softball team, or to inspire your team or to create a company or to own the stage, your voice is your interface with the rest of humanity. And when you can learn to use that voice and use it in a way, Lisa, guess, to unite people, to inspire people, to heal, to motivate you gain so many powerful abilities to help create the world that you've always dreamed about and not just transform yourself, but have a marked impact on your communities, your businesses, and humanity as a whole.
Absolutely. And, you know, one of the great things about standing in that space is for some of you who will jump in, it will help you reclaim your voice, help you own your voice, and help you understand the power, impact, and the influence of your voice. So then when you use it, you use it in a way that inspires people. You use it in a way that leaves individuals wanting to be a better person because they crossed your path. You use it as a healing agent for so many. So it really is taking the art of communication, but first, owning the possibility, owning the healing, owning the. Owning all the things that come with who you are. Like every part of your journey led you to this moment. How do you communicate that in such a way that inspires others?
And what's really cool is that I've had Lisa speaking at mindvalley events for the last seven years, and every time I watch her, I learn a little bit from her. So I love bringing her back. Lisa has spoken at every single a fest since a fest started. But every time I bring her and put her on stage, I learn a little bit and I become a better speaker, which is why I'm so excited to finally have Lisa as mindvalley's public speaking trainer on our quest guide. So, anyway, you can sign up for a masterclass with me and Lisa where you're going to learn some of Lisa's incredible techniques for speakers from the dip technique, which is so cool, to the show me. Don't tell me technique, which, again, you guys are really going to get a kick out. So I'll see you on that masterclass.
The masterclass alone will have you going notches above where you are today. Just. Just show up.
True story.
True story.
See you guys. Take.
