How Do You Want To Be Remembered In Life?

Vishen Lakhiani walks through finding your superpower by asking people what gift they see in you, then writing it as: I help [who] do [what] so that they can [outcome]. The goal is one clear thing you want to be remembered for, tested and refined over time.

Who you are and what are you going to be known for? This is about identifying your brand. Superpowers. And the reason why I use superpowers is because you are a superhero. And every single one of us has a unique gift that is inside of you. I want to know what that gift is that you want to share with the world. And we're going to do that by creating your superpower statement. You. You don't wanna try to reach everyone. You wanna get a little more specific as to who it is that you're looking to serve and what you're looking to help them with. What's the problem that you wanna help them to overcome? And just realize that it's a process, it's an experiment, and it takes time. You know, it's been seven years. And the most important thing for me has been just being consistent and continuing to be authentic, sharing my journey, documenting my journey as to what I, what I'm going through as an entrepreneur, as I'm building my brand and just completely showing the behind the scenes, the ups, the downs, and not taking it too serious, having fun along the way. What is my superpower? What is my gift? You know, I remember I went through that. And so what you can do is literally ask, Ask people that are in your circle of influence. This could be friends, family, your team. Just really taking the time to ask the people closest to you and say, you know, what do you feel is my superpower? What do you feel is my gift? And what do they know you for? When I started to do this with my friends and family, I got back just that, this common thread of storytelling and my ability to tell stories. And so it really allowed me to, like, hone in storytelling. And you know what my methodology around that is and helping those to leverage that to build their personal brand. You will see a common denominator. When you start to ask all the people in your life, like, what that superpower is, you maybe even be surprised. One of the things I want you to also do is to really sit down and just journal. Like, if you had to pick five different pillars and passions in your life that you would want your personal brand to be known for, what would those be? I know when I did this, I wanted to be talking about spirituality, entrepreneurship, leadership, travel, family. And so these were different aspects of my life, of what I wanted people to see when they came around my personal brand. But really honing in on what is the one main, like just the main one that you want to be truly known for. Write those five down and then really look at those and say, okay, what's the one that I really want to be most known for and why? And then last, you get to draft up your superpower statement. And so this is you really just working on, okay, what are you helping people to overcome? Getting clear as to what that problem is, getting clear as to what that outcome is, and just, you know, who it is that you're helping. You really want to figure out how to fill in this superpower statement, which is, I help blank, do blank, so that they can blank. And just understanding, like, who it is that you're helping and what are you helping them with? Ultimately, having that superpower statement really clear as to, you know, what you're passionate about, and what do you help people do?
