A hypnotherapist explains how hypnosis works: a relaxed, focused state where you vividly imagine your goals and communicate with the unconscious mind that drives habits. It's used for weight loss, smoking, phobias, and sleep, with no side effects.
Hypnotherapy works incredibly well. It works for most people most of the time in changing behaviors, losing weight, quitting smoking, overcoming phobias, becoming confident sleeping. Well, the sort of things that people use hypnosis for. And also it's safe. It doesn't have side effects. So it's really a fantastic tool to help people change their lives for the better.
What is happening when somebody is in a hypnotic state or is in hypnosis? What's really that we are doing here?
Okay, so generally, hypnosis is associated with relaxation. For most people, they're in a daydream, they're in a state of concentration. And what's happening is in that state of relaxed concentration, you can imagine a better future, or you can imagine life without cigarettes, or you can imagine losing weight. And so for something to happen in the real world, it has to happen in the imagination first. When you hypnotize, you tend to focus on one thing to the exclusion of all others. And what's really neat is hypnosis can communic communicate with the unconscious mind that drives all our habits. And using hypnotherapy, we can change that. We can make it very quickly that suddenly people, they begin to lose weight or they quit smoking, or they suddenly they feel confident when they're talking to an audience, like they're talking to their best friends.
