Jennifer Partridge On How To Instantly Relieve Stress And Overwhelm With EFT/Tapping

A guided Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT/tapping) session led by Jennifer Partridge for the Mindvalley audience designed to relieve stress and overwhelm. Jennifer briefly explains EFT as a blend of Chinese medicine (acupuncture/acupressure meridian points) and modern psychology, then leads listeners through step-by-step tapping rounds (naming the overwhelm, rating intensity 0–10, tapping specific points, forgiveness and higher-self visualization), finishing with affirmations, breathing exercises, and a link to her website/community.

Foreign Hi, I'm Jen Partridge and I'm an emotional freedom technique or tapping expert. And I'm super excited to be here with you all today, the mindvalley audience, because I'm going to share with you a tapping session to help clear out overwhelm. And I know that we can all relate to overwhelming our life, living the lives that we do with so many things on our plate. And so if you are new to tapping or emotional freedom technique, and I'm going to give you a little 101 on what it is, it's a blend of modern psychology and Chinese medicine. So in Chinese medicine, if you've ever gone to an acupuncturist or acupressure, you would notice that there's specific points where they're either applying pressure or they're putting the needles. These are the acupuncture points that we're going to be tapping during this experience. They're basically bringing life force and prana into the body through the meridian system or the energy highways. And. And then we bring in modern psychology. And if you've ever been to a coach or a therapist, you would know that you're speaking a lot. You're talking about your emotions, your memories, your thoughts, your pains, your perceptions. And we're going to be doing exactly that. And the way tapping works is we allow ourselves to feel the emotion completely so that it can move through our system. The old way is suppressing and pretending that the pain doesn't exist. We're actually welcoming in the pain so we can process it. Okay, so massaging underneath the collarbones here, right where they jut out and just massage there. That's the emotional well. So this will help us get in touch with all of that overwhelm and just tune into that right now. And the deep medicine of tapping is allowing ourselves to feel completely. So as we do this, I will do a call and response. You will repeat what I say. You might start yawning, burping, crying, hiccuping, and that's totally normal as well, because you're starting to move the body, mind and spirit at a very fast pace. So as you tune into that overwhelm, don't worry if you start having any of those symptoms as well. Let's just take a big, deep breath and release a big sigh. Beautiful. And the breath is so comforting to the nervous system. Tapping the center of the chest, repeating after me, even though I have been really overwhelmed. Go ahead. I'm open to loving and accepting myself exactly as I am. Then bring Your fingers up between the brow points, start tapping there. Repeating after me. I've been feeling exhausted and overwhelmed. And then as you tune into the area of your life that's been overwhelming you, or maybe it's multiple areas, what is the number on a scale of 0 to 10? 10 being at its most intense peak of emotion, 0 being you're free. What's the intensity for you? Then bring your fingers down to your temples. Just tapping your temples here and tuning into the intensity and the number that it is continuing to repeat after me. It is a. What's the number for you? 0 to 10. Tapping the cheekbones. The overwhelm is. And name the number. Tapping underneath the nose. I've been really overwhelmed by. And just go on a little rant. Speak about all those things that are just been peeving you off. Tell me about it. I want to hear it. Keep telling me all those things that are happening. Tapping underneath the lips I've been really overwhelmed by. And that's understandable. It is understandable, isn't it? It's a lot. It's understandable. I'm overwhelmed. Tapping the center of the chest and I forgive myself. So just take a moment and just forgive yourself for however you've been working with this energy. Forgive yourself for struggling with it, knowing that you've just been trying your best and just feel any overwhelm, any blame or shame you've been putting on yourself around this and just give it a big hug right now. Give it a big wave of empathy and then take a big deep breath. Release a big sigh. Beautiful. Coming down to the front of the ribs. I'm still a good human being. Go ahead, tell me that. Tapping the side of the ribs, even though I've been overwhelmed, it's possible I can let go of all of this stored energy. Tapping the side of the wrist here so along the line it's possible I can let go of all of this built up energy. I can do this. Tapping the thumb where it juts out the most. I'm ready to let this go. Tapping the next finger where the nail juts out the most. I'm ready to let this go. Tapping the middle finger where it juts out the most. I'm ready to be free of this overwhelm. Tapping the opposite side of the next finger no matter how long it's been with me. Tapping the inside of the little finger no matter how exhausted I am. Tapping the side of the hand here. I can let this go. Beautiful. And just feel into any grasping you have to the emotion that is Connected to all that overwhelm, the grasping or the protection or the place inside of you that won't slow down, that won't give yourself permission to slow down. The grasping, the holding on, the pushing, the pulling, whatever it is right there, feel it. And then take a big deep breath, release a big sigh. Good, I can relax now. Tapping the top of the head. It's possible if I relax, I'll do better. So what is it that you've been trying to achieve? What have you been trying to create? What have you been trying to do? Do you think that all of that overwhelm is helping you get there? Or do you think maybe just softening and relaxing for a moment might give you the capacity and the energy to get where you to go so it's no longer pushing, it's relaxing in and allowing that to take you? It's possible I'm in a safe place to relax. It's possible I'm in a safe place to move slowly and clearly. Because often when we're overwhelmed, we have so much to do or so much to figure out that we actually end up making it more complicated because we're flustered. Versus if you just slow down for a moment, you get really clear in your mind and then you're able to move forward with clarity and actually a lot more ease and relaxation in your nervous system. So just tune into that moment right now when you were most overwhelmed recently. Tapping between the brows. And just imagine right now as you're in that space of overwhelmed, as everything's going on and there's chaos and then you're exhausted and then you have to defend or you have to push and all of that. Tune into that right now and then tap the temples and then just feel what that feels like in your body. All of that to carry that, all of that to try to move. And then take a big deep breath, release a big sigh. Good, you're doing great. And as you see that moment of exhaustion, that moment of overwhelm, what did you really need in that situation that would have helped you? What could have helped you feel more empowered? What could have helped you feel more together, more clear? What was it that you needed in that situation that would have helped? And then tapping underneath your nose. What I really needed was. And just tell me what you really needed. What I really needed was. And then tapping underneath your lips and I'm ready to have that now. I'm ready to have that support. I'm ready to receive that support. Support. Are you ready to receive it with me? Are you ready to say, yes, I'm worthy and I can have that level of support in my life. Beautiful. So tapping the center of the chest right now and just tune into that moment as you're there in that moment, feeling that struggle, feeling that overwhelm, feeling the exhaustion, feeling the pressure. And as you feel that pressure, lean into it in your body. Feel it. What was the most intense part? Where do you feel it in your body? What is the texture? Or feel it as if it's happening in a movie, as if you're watching it unfold. And as you're in that movie right now, imagine yourself just opening your eyes and looking off to the corner of the frame and there is your higher self looking at you, loving you, and seeing what you've just gone through. And watch your higher self now walk over to you with all of their compassion, all of their care, all of their love, and see them just wrap their arms around you with the biggest bear hug of love right now. So much love coming in, so much compassion, so much insight and wisdom, so much care. Feel all of the love from your higher self right now, just wrapping you up. Feel the love come into your being. Feel any resistance to it start to melt away. And then take a big, deep breath and release a big sigh. And then tapping the front of the ribs. And then as your higher self is looking at you deep in your eyes right now, gazing into your soul that was so worried or so scared, what does your higher self want to say to you in this moment? Tapping the side of the ribs, my higher self is saying, what does your higher self want to say as they look at you in those eyes, big beautiful eyes of yours? Tapping the side of the wrist. You can do either side. My higher self is saying. Beautiful. And what is your higher self giving you permission to do? My higher self gives me permission to what? Is it to relax? Is it to take it easy? Is it to slow down? Is it to move more quickly? Is it to have more clarity? What permission is your higher self giving you right now? My higher self is giving me permission to. And name it out loud. Oh, yeah. Nice. Tapping the side of the thumb. Okay, so imagine you receive that permission right now imagine that that permission becomes your authority. That permission becomes what you stand for. That permission becomes your identity. And that you choose that. Now, how does that feel when you really give yourself that permission? It makes me feel. What? What's like three positive feelings that come from that? Yeah. Dabbing the middle finger. Oh, that makes me feel what, when you have that permission. Yeah. And how does that feel in your body when you give yourself that? Does it make you feel relaxed? Does it make you feel at ease? Does it peaceful, powerful, Tapping the opposite side of the next finger? It makes me feel. And tell me again, tapping the little finger, the inside, it makes me feel like I can handle it. Right? So imagine your life right now. Imagine all of those things that need to be done or need to be resolved. And imagine that permission right now that you bring to that. And how easy can it be when you give yourself that and how at ease you can be. And just feel all of those blessings right now, just coming right in, supporting that in your being, knowing that this is your birthright and that you are worthy of moving at a graceful pace. Feel all of that worthiness, all of that goodness coming in, blessing your life right now. Then take a big deep breath, release a big sigh. Awesome. And then tap all over your body and tell yourself 10 affirmations out loud around what you're choosing for your life now. What new habits, what new ways are you choosing? What are you worthy of? What do you get to create? Because this is the power of our choice. This is the power of who we are. So I want to hear them. I get to create. Oh, that feels good. Yeah, I get to create. Tell me again. Take a big deep breath, release a big sigh. And then just placing one hand on your belly, one hand on your heart, tuning into that peace will speak space within your being. The space that always knows that it is safe, that place of deep rest, the place where all energy comes from. Feel that space right now and feel that. Just blessing your life, blessing your relationships, blessing your endeavors, your activities, feeling it all become spacious and open. See that? Feel how that feels when you really allow that energy to move through. And then take a long, slow, deep breath into the whole body. Feel it up and hold the breath for a moment. And then exhale slowly. Thank you so much for joining me in this beautiful tap to help you clear out the overwhelm. If you tune into that number right now, where were you at the beginning and where are you now? I'm hoping that the number has gone down. If it has, then you can always continue to go back until you get down to a zero. Occasionally there's a little defrosting that happens, so it might spike for a little bit, but then it will keep going down. The more you're able to bring that love and forgiveness and that ease to all of that stress and overwhelm, the more it relaxes inside your system. I really hope you've enjoyed the tap. I really appreciate sharing it with you and the whole community.
