It out. Put all of your attention and energy on the people that you're serving. Inspiring. And let your attention on yourself fade into the background.
Don't benchmark yourself about the number of views, the number of followers, but benchmark your success based upon the impact that you are having with your message, your service or your product.
See the 2%, they don't waste time being original, they reverse engineer and model success.
The problem with social media is that the people with no visibility wound, with no self awareness, post and post and post and dumb ideas, get out. You guys have good ideas. You're the people who need to be posting.
Hello everybody and welcome to Mindvalley's social media summit highlights. I'm so excited that you are here. My name is Caitlin o' Toole and I will be your host for this replay weekend with you guys. And I'm so, so, so happy that you said yes. What you just saw there was a clip of what happened live in Dubai last weekend. This event was truly incredible. Mindvalley did this in partnership with one billion followers Summit. The energy, the information and the tools that we learned from some of the top experts in the world on social media has really changed everything for those that were able to attend. But we know so many of you were unable to make it and after so many requests and emails and messages, mindvalley decided to put together a social media highlight summit right here, right now.
For all of you.
And what you're about to see is some of the best talks, some of the information that if you follow this, if you are present, if you take notes, if you take action, this can absolutely change your life.
Why?
Well, think about it. In today's day and age, it's not just about googling something and looking online. If you are a business owner, if you are an entrepreneur, if you are a coach, if you are a brand, if you are a person, the first thing that anybody does is they check social media because they want to know who you are, what you stand for, what you talk about, if you're someone that they can work for. So if you're not online, if you are not visible, if you are not able to get your message out in the world, you heard Vishen say it right now. The problem with social social media at times is that the loudest microphones are in the wrong hands. So I want you to think for a moment. How can your life change if you go all in over the next couple of hours, if you go all in with Mindvalley and you consider the social media mastery, how could this change your life? What would happen if you post a video, you put your message out in the world and hundreds, thousands, maybe even millions of people can hear about you, your product, your service and all of the gifts that you have to share with the world. That's what this is all about. It's about learning from the top experts. We're talking about people like Brendan Cain, who first worked with Taylor Swift, who's done over 60 billion views and hundreds of millions of dollars for his clients. Marie Forleo, Prince EA 25 million followers across and one of the greatest storytellers of our generation. And of course, Vishen, this is just some of the people that were at the silo and the best talks that you are going to learn from here today. So I want to ask you guys to be present with us, to be excited with us and to really pay attention. Because if you can master social media, you can truly change not only your life, your business, but you can help so many other people in the process. So to kick this event off, we're going to start with Vishen and here's what I want you guys to think about. Visibility. If they can't see you, if they don't know about your product, if they don't know about your message, if they don't know who you are, if they can't see your light shining in this world, then you're at a disservice. But it's not your fault. A lot of times why we can't see you is you have a visibility wound. But in this talk, I promise you, all of that can change like that. So to kick it off, everybody please welcome the CEO and founder of Mind Valley Vision.
Those of you in the chat, I want you to just put in the live chat where you're from, type in hello from Serbia or hello from London and just check out the chatter. I'm looking at it on my screen as well. And you will notice the sheer diversity of the audience that's here. Hello, Kenya. Malaysia. Adelaide, India, Vietnam. We're delighted to have all of you. Now, my message for you today is this. It's basically that there are two types of people who go on social media. There's the people who really desperately care about the clicks and the likes and the numbers. And listen, I like numbers too. Just ask my accountant. But there's a second type of person who goes on social media. The second type of person who goes on social media is someone who deeply cares about getting an idea out. And that idea may be a new way of raising a kid. That idea may be speaking out against a policy or a law that you feel is not in the best interest of your city or country. The idea may be speaking up for a product that you believe in or speaking against a product that you believe is harming the world. We're talking to both people and I want you to put in the chat which type you think you are. Are you mainly type 1? That means it's about the fame, it's about the number, and hey, there is nothing wrong with it. I love money too. Or are you type two where it's about the impact, the purpose, the mission, the soul or connection? Let's look at the chat. Okay, now what I'm seeing is of the thousands of people live with us right now, the majority are putting type two and there's about three people who put in type one. And congratulations to those three people. You are very brave. But in this presentation, I'm speaking the type 2 because type 2 is 90% of what I'm seeing on that chat. And we know type two is 90% because we did a survey before I got on stage and we had close to 10,000 people reply. And on that survey, we learned a couple of things about you. Firstly, we learned that you are weird. Like, you guys are weirdos. You're interested in stuff that 20 years ago people would have said you should join a cult. You're interested in yoga, in sound healing, in breathwork, in tm. You're interested in the future of humanity, conscious parenting, all of these weird things that would make your grandparents frown. And so congratulations, we are all weird together now. The beauty about social media is that for the first time, weird ideas can actually get out there. Some weird ideas can be harmful, but many of them are worth noticing. I started my career 22 years ago taking a weird idea meditation and helping spread it to people. Social media didn't exist, so I used email autoresponders. But the principle and the thinking was same. Because of where we are right now, we've entered a new era. Naval Ravikant, who's a famous author, Silicon Valley guy, super smart intellectual, said this code and media are permissionless leverage. And what he meant by this is, if you're an entrepreneur, the two most important things you need to learn coding. Which by the way, as of this month, because of Claude code and tools like cursor, every single one of you can be a programmer. So what AI did to copywriting two years ago when every single one of you could write beautiful copy, Every single one of you can now build apps. Okay, Permissionless leverage, which means the cost of starting a business has gotten really, really, really tiny. But the second thing, media. Twenty years ago, if you had a great idea, you had to hire a PR company to get on television. Today you got to figure out a way to make a video go viral. And it's not as hard as you think. So these two things give you an incredible amount of leverage and thus it is easier than ever to be an entrepreneur. Now, I want you to understand a big change that's going to happen in 2026. The cost of starting a company and the complexity of starting a company is going to go down by a factor of 50. I know this because I own multiple companies and I employ 230 people. And in the last one month and one of the things I do at my company is I make everybody get trained in AI. And so much work is being eliminated that this year I've decided that I'm going to take a week off every month to just experience life and study something new. So I'm going to go take a class in salsa, I'm going to go try to learn Spanish. I'm going to take a class in stand up comedy. I just want to learn something new because what I'm able to do in one hour right now, five years ago, 50 hours of work now in one hour. And every single one of you watching has this advantage. Okay? So the cost of building any product is going to go down and thus most entrepreneurs are going to have multiple streams of income. You're not going to build one company. Once you figure it out, you're probably going to have multiple companies. But this creates a problem. And the problem is, how do you get people to notice? So I was talking to my friend Daniel Priestley, and if you don't know Daniel Priestley, he is the number one featured guest on Steven Bartlett's Diary of a CEO. Really deep guy. Like, when you sit next to Daniel, you feel wisdom oozing from his body. And Daniel Priestley has taken seven companies and scaled them to 100 million. And he said vision. In today's world, if you are starting companies, create social media not for your company, but for yourself as a founder. People don't follow businesses anymore. People follow people. What this means is if you're an entrepreneur, it's essential that you start connecting with your audience, your market, your fans, people who share your vision. Focus on your social media. Direct those eyeballs to all of your creations. Whether it's a piece of code, whether it's a book or a blog or an activism campaign. If you learn to do this, you have insane power at your fingertips. So the change that's going to happen in 2026 is this because starting and running companies is going to be improved and 50x more efficient. The skill that you want to learn is how to direct the audience to all of your creations. One of the things I do is I write books. I have three American bestsellers. I calculate the amount of time it takes me to write a book. It's about 500 hours. Now, this was for my first book, the Code of the Extraordinary mind, which was published in 2016. 500 hours. It was several years. Today, because of leverage, the book takes 50 hours. So I'm seeing this and other authors are seeing it. And it's not because we're getting chatgpt to write the book. It's because code social media, where you can survey your audience, you can help test ideas. All of this becomes faster. So the most important thing for me as an author, for you, as a coach, for you, as the yoga teacher, for you as the app builder, is build an audience, share your insights so you can direct them to all of these creations, because you are no longer going to have one book and you're no longer going to have one company. We are entering the age of creation. But attention is what we need to navigate now. Here's the problem. The problem is this. The very people who should be on social media are not on social media. And I know this because I'm one of those people. Until 2017, I basically did not want to be on social media. So the entrepreneurs who should be talking about the hot idea, the author or the psychologist with these incredible insights on human lives, they are precisely the ones who are not speaking out. The people who are speaking out often, and I don't mean this in any disrespectful way, are people who are sometimes just seeking fame or attention or the numbers. And the reason for this dichotomy is a concept I call the visibility wound. And I bet the vast majority of you in this room have it. You may be on social media, but there's a part of you that questions if you have a right to get that video out or that message out. The visibility wound you see is an unconscious belief that says being seen is dangerous. And it's not irrational. It's real. And it's an unconscious belief that was implanted in you because of something that happened in your childhood. Now, why do we know this exists? Because you told us when we surveyed you, the hundred and twenty five thousand of you who signed up online for this summit, these are some of the things that you put in the survey. When we asked you, why aren't you sharing your idea? Why aren't you talking about your book? Why aren't you speaking to your audience? I'm scared to be public. Fear of trolls and hate. I'm an introvert. What if people judge me? It feels inauthentic. I hate social media, but I need it. These are all actual comments, okay? And it was overwhelming. Like how many of you actually suffer from it? So the question is, where does this fear of being seen come from? All right, so I'm going to share with you one of my early social media videos. We're going to go back 10 years and I'm going to show you the visibility wound vulnerably and what was going on inside my soul. I don't want you to pay attention to what I say in this video. I want you to watch my body language, okay? The awkwardness. I want you to watch, watch for the following things. I keep looking down, alright? I want you to watch for that. At a certain point, I just take the camera away from the camera person and I hold it so I don't have to be in the camera. But most importantly, I want you to watch whom I'm talking to. See what's going on here is I was visiting Silicon Valley, I had an investor meeting and I happened to pass by the place that is Steve Jobs house. That Steve Jobs house behind me. I thought, wow, this is so cool, I want to share this. But I was afraid to be judged. So rather than share it on my Facebook to the world, I shared it to my son and I posted that on Facebook. So I start this video with my son's name. Hey, Hayden. Why did I say that? Because if anybody added a nasty comment, I could say, well, this wasn't for you, this was for my son. So check out the awkwardness of this video, okay? And you will see the visibility wound in action. And if you can relate, know that you're not alone. Can we play the video, please? Hey, Hayden, check it out. I wanted to show you something. So I was in the meeting nearby and right here, this is Steve Jobs house. Of course, you know Steve, he invented the iPhone, the ipod, the Mac, pretty much all that stuff you play your games on. So I thought I'd just show you a quick video of what this house looks like. You can see it's, it's really beautiful. It looks like Something from a fairy tale. A lot of people come here, and when Steve Jobs died, people left flowers here for him because he had such a big impact on the rest of the world. What made Steve really, really, really special was that he had incredible taste in design and art. So everything he made, his software, the iPad, the iPhone, Apple TV, everything from Apple just looks so beautiful. But I just thought you'd enjoy seeing this. And the taste extends to flowers and plants and just a beautiful backyard. It looks very much like a fairy tale, doesn't it? All right, miss you, Hayden. See you soon. Bye. Did you notice? First social media video. Okay, this was maybe 20, 20, 2015 or so. I start with, hey, Hayden, I'm shielding myself. Like, why couldn't I just go on Facebook and say, hey guys, check this out. Steve Jobs house. Pretty cool, huh? Look at the flowers. He's awesome. I was afraid. I was afraid of the comments. By the way, six people commented on that video. It's been 10 years. Six people. And it was all decently good comments. But I was so afraid of someone saying, aren't you trespassing on Steve Jobs lawn? Technically I was. I was afraid of someone saying, well, you don't know how to use the camera. Or someone saying, you know, I hate Apple. I'm a Samsung user and honestly, my son was 8 years old. He honestly didn't give a damn. Even my son to this day has not watched that video. But I protected myself. That's the visibility wound. So where does it come from? Cultural programming. All right, now, to understand the visibility wound, you got to understand where it's coming from. Now, firstly, how many of you can relate to that video and that fear? Raise your hand or put a yes in the chat at the beginning. Yes. Yes. Okay, so in the chat, almost everyone is saying, yes, the people here in Dubai, maybe only about 10 of them are holding up their hand. But that's because these are Dubai people. Okay? Dubai is all about show. Dubai is all about. Look at me now. Where does the visibility wound come from? Childhood experiences. Childhood experiences that tell you it is not safe to be seen. Alright, So I grew up in Malaysia, so I am Malaysian. And when I went to school in Malaysia, I'm part of a very small ethnicity in Malaysia. So my ethnicity is Sindhi. So Sindhis are from the western part of India, close to Iran. And there are very few people in Malaysia who look like me. Most people in Malaysia are East Asian. Okay? So when I went to school, most of my friends were Chinese and I looked very different. And I Stood out. So I got bullied because I stood out. Now, one of the names that I was called as a kid was Hooknose Gorilla Boy. Now, let me tell you where the name Hooknose Gorilla Boy came from. Firstly, I have a big nose relative to East Asian people. Secondly, I have hair on my arms. And East Asian people, God bless them, China's going to rule the world. But their skin is like dolphin skin. They have no hair. So all the hairy people in the room say, hey, right? See, I see all the Indians and the Pakistanis and the Arabs and the Caucasians, right? But in East Asia, you don't have hair. And I see some of the Asian people right now just feeling themselves going, yes, I am very snoot.
Okay?
So when I went to school, that was my name, Hooknose Gorilla Boy. And I was constantly bullied. And like the other kids in my school, the other Malaysian kids, the real looking Malaysian kids would tell me, hey, hook nose Gorilla Boy, you want a banana? Come get your banana. And then I was a nerd. So I would explain. Well, technically, gorillas don't eat bananas. They flourish on fruits and nuts. And then I would get smacked at the back of my head. Shut up, Hooknose. So I eventually developed this fear of being seen. By the way, just for the record, I do not have hairy legs. It's not like I wake up in the morning and I have to blow dry my hair, put some wax and comb my legs. It's not that I'm going to show you because, see, it's decent. It's moderately hairy, right? For anyone in Europe or the Middle east or India, it's okay, I'm just normal. But in East Asia, I stood out. By the way, when I came to Dubai, I finally felt like I was with people who had an equal amount of body hair. So, men of Dubai, thank you for making me feel at home like here in Dubai. You guys love your hair. I don't know how you survive in this summer because it makes you extra hot. But I walk into, like, clubs here, the shirt is open, the hair is popping out. You stick the hair out as you walk. Feels so comforting. But growing up, hook nosed Gorilla boy. So this creates this fear of actually being seen. Childhood experiences. Now, the second thing is cultural conditioning. This is very common in many cultures. In Australia, it's called tall Poppy syndrome. In Japan, there's a saying, the nail that sticks up gets hammered down. In Scandinavia, there's a word, I believe it's called jantelloven, and it means don't be flashy. When you're on social media, you're going against your own cultural conditioning. Now, a lot of these cultural conditionings existed in a time when social media did not exist. It existed in a time where one was meant to be silent while the super wealthy, the authority, the kings, the monarchs, they got the limelight. That's not really the world we live in right now. Now, the third reason is past failures. Maybe you put up a video and nobody noticed. Maybe you wrote a book and even your mom didn't read it. The fourth is imposter syndrome. Boy, this is an interesting one. So in a study of women, 54% of women suffer from imposter syndrome. 54%. The majority of women feel, and I see some of you raising your hands, how did I earn this? Why do I earn this? I'm not meant to be here. It's cultural programming. It's the way we've designed a workforce that was primarily in company culture, that was primarily a RELIC from the U.S. military Industrial Complex post World War II, which was designed for mainly males. By the way, can you guess the percentage of men who study from imposter syndrome? 25%. 25%. So men still have it, but men tend to be more overconfident, stupidly confident. So 70% of men say that they drive better than average. 70% of men and 55% of men answered yes to the following question. If you're in a plane and both pilots pass out, can you safely land the plane? 55% of men said, yeah, I bet I could do that. This is why I really think more women should be elected into power. So, and the final one, number five, is fear of success. Okay? Fear of success. This means what happens when I actually get there. By the way, one of the other things that I write about and I speak about and mindvalley is big on is manifesting. Manifesting isn't woo woo anymore. It's now science, meet soul. And you know what is one of the biggest blocks to people hitting their goal? Whether the goal is to be a CEO, to grow a company, to get a book out. One of the biggest blocks, if what happens to me if I do get the goal, it is the fear of success. It is the fear of who do I have to be? What will my life look like if I became that person? And that trips up manifesting. If you want to be a CEO, but you're afraid of Asana and Google Calendar and leading people, ain't gonna happen. Fear of success is one of the reasons why we actually self sabotage. So these five things are what cause a visibility wound. But let's talk about how it actually shows up in your life, okay? Because this is where it matters practically. So I want you to observe these behaviors and ask yourself, is this me? And by the way, at this point, I want you to know we're not just talking about social media. We're talking about everything involving showing up. You speaking out at a board meeting, you showing up on a date, you doing an interview, or appearing on a podcast. It's all the same thing. Is there a part of you that is causing you to hide, to shrink, to stay in the shadows, when you really should be in the light, transmitting your light? This is what it looks like. First, perfectionism. It means you are waiting for your text to be perfect before you hit publish. You have to go get a whole hair makeover before you record that selfie. You're building code, but you are free to deploy in case there's one tiny bug. You want to teach a course, but you need to get every single thing laid out. That's not the way real builders build. Real builders build through feedback. You start sucky, you start small, you start basic. You're not getting just a product out, you're creating a learning loop. So you start sucky, you learn, you improve. That's how real builders build. If I showed you my early writings, my early products, they would be sucky compared to now. If you're not embarrassed by your version one, you're acting too slow. How many of you here can relate to perfectionism? Almost everyone in this room. Next, hiding behind strategy. Overthinking. See this all the time in teams. I lead rather than act. You plan and plan and plan. It is paralysis by analysis. You fail to act because you're afraid that things might go wrong. Turns out this is a really awful strategy. Anyone heard of the classic book Think and Grow Rich? So Napoleon wrote that. Napoleon Hill wrote that book 100 years ago and he said, you want to do anything. And he was speaking here on the art of getting rich. He said, don't over plan. Take baby steps. Every baby step gives you information. The information is, turn left, turn right, adjust, take baby steps. And as you line up these baby steps with information, what happens is you move towards your goal. You do not move towards your goal with a business plan that is perfect because the world is so unpredictable. Life is unpredictable. You take baby steps and learn. So if you're hiding behind strategy, what you may want to consider is, can I refine my strategy by Acting, adjusting, learning, and creating a feedback loop and understanding that it is okay to fail. Now, this is also a cultural thing. I was talking to the writer Salim Ismail. He wrote a book called Exponential Organizations, beautiful book on scaling organizations. And Salim was invited by the Malaysian government to come to Malaysia to speak to entrepreneurs. And they asked him, what do we do to create more entrepreneurs in Malaysia? And Salim Ismail said, the problem is the Asian culture here, which says that if you fail, you're done. So he said, what I suggest you do? Create FailureCon, a conference where entrepreneurs come on stage and they talk about their biggest failure, and the person who took the most risk and flamed out most wins a prize. Reinvent the story of failure. So what if you did this for yourself in social media, you did not just celebrate your wins, but you celebrated your failures in your Google sheet or whatever you used to log. You don't just log your best videos. You celebrate every dumb mistake you made and what you learned from it. Don't hide behind strategy now. 3. Comparison paralysis. We all do this. We say, there's no way I can start this podcast. I mean, look at how far Steven Bartlett has come. There's no way I can. Like, I can. I can create this video because my competition is already ahead. Everyone who starts had someone that inspired them who was way ahead. Stephen Bartlett spoke at this event and spoke at mindvalley's event this past year. And he shared the story where 2017, when he started out his podcast, he was basically in a tiny studio. Maybe he said 12 people listened to it. He had a sock over his mic. Everybody starts sucking. So rather than comparison paralysis, turn, turn the inspiration that you're looking at, rather than look at them and feel you can never be like them and develop that feeling of jealousy, turn it into inspiration. What can you modify? What can you adjust? What can you tweak in your own way? The next one is inconsistency. This means you go on a streak. You create the videos, you put it up. At the end of one month, you don't get exactly the result you want, so you give up and you stop Inconsistency. Thing about the algorithm is it rewards consistency. So you got to be consistent. You got to keep building. You got to keep creating. You can't let one month of bad results hurt your ego. And it is about ego. So if you are pushing it and then you stop, it's because your ego is speaking. And honestly, that consistency is what's going to get you to the top. I mean, read the biographies of any Great entrepreneur. And the thing they tell you is that even when failure hit, they did not stop. Is inconsistency a problem you have? Raise your hand. And this is very real. It's a problem for me now as well. 5. You secretly create for nobody. What this means is that you are deliberately creating videos that are, you know, the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. That's the hot porridge and then the cold porridge. In social media, you want to be hot or you want to be cold, Right? You want to be on the edges, but you're creating videos that people are apathetic to. There's a great principle in marketing, and this great principle in marketing that I've learned says this. In marketing, you either want people to love you or you want people to hate you. But you never want people to be in between and apathetic. Are you creating for apathy? Are you creating because you're afraid that, yeah, you might get some love, but you might also get some hate? Well, let the haters hate. Are you creating for nobody? Because if you're in the middle, you're creating for nobody. But here's the paradox. While all of you may have some visibility wound and you may have some of the ingredients of this wound, what is really going on is this. Your visibility wound is actually your superpower. Let me explain. It's your superpower because it makes you so much less annoying. You're not just hammering away at social media. Look at me. Look at me. You're actually conscious about what you put out. You care that it makes a difference. You care that it impacts the world. You care that you're telling a good story. You care. You have standards. You're good people. The world needs more of you. You're not like Donald Trump, 200 tweets in a day with English that is barely classified as English. You care. The problem with social media is that the people with no visibility wound, with no self awareness post and post and post and post and post and dumb ideas get out frequently. You guys have good ideas. You're the people who need to be posting. So your visibility wound is actually your superpower. And I want you to flip the script on is not a curse. It is not going to make you suffer. It's not going to hold you back. It's your edge. It's what makes you unique. It's what means that your ideas are the ones that matter. So how do you work with your visibility wound? There are three steps. First, know that your visibility wound is not a bug. It's a feature. Embrace it. So for those of you who are watching who have a visibility wound, I want you to just close your eyes right now and let's call that visibility wound vw. Just place your hand on your heart and say, vw. You're not a bug, you're a feature. Now, three steps. First one is name it with your eyes closed. What is the name of your visibility wound? Give it a name. Mine is called gorilla boy. What is the name of that wound? I'm not special. Be safe. Think about the childhood experience you had that may have caused you to develop that wound. And the wound is nothing more than your inner child at that age trying to keep you safe. My social media wound, my hey Hayden video came from an inner child saying, don't stand out. They'll bully you. They'll call you names and you can see how irrational that is. And that inner child is speaking to you at the age in which the wound developed. Mine developed at the age of 10. It was 10 year old logic where when I was 40 years old, I still couldn't get on social media. What is the age of your visibility wound? So if you know the age in which you develop this don't stand out thing, that's the age of your visibility wound. Name it. And now what I want you to do is separate the past from the present. Understand that it's a childlike understanding of the world. It is your inner child at that age trying to keep you safe. I want you to close your eyes and just talk to that inner child right now and say, hey. Speak to it with love. This is the key thing to healing subconscious blocks. You don't command it to go away, you love it into going away. Speak to that inner block with love and say, hey, I get you. I hear you. You are trying to keep me safe. That was your job. I love you for that. It's been decades, but I'm good now. I'm okay. You've done your job. I still want you there a little bit because you keep me modest, you keep me sincere, you keep me humble and I appreciate you for that. You keep me grounded, but you will not keep me from the light any longer because I am ready for that light. I want to give you a moment to just have that dialogue with that inner child. Sometimes it helps to sense your body. Where do you feel that wound is? Give it a tangible location, a color. Imagine it in that body. You can place your hand on it, hold it up in front of you and imagine as if you're Talking to it. But speak with love. It is a part of your childhood. It is what made you you. And honestly, it's mostly good because it made you grounded, real kind, compassionate. The bullies didn't make me a bully. The bullies ensured that I was a compassionate person. Now we come to step three. And step three is take micro visible actions. What can you do to step out the next time you go out? Could you wear something just a tiny bit flashier? Maybe a different color, maybe a different hairdo, Maybe something new you picked up from Dubai mall? I'm giving you permission to go on a shopping spree. The next time you create a video, can you create it without worrying about how you look or the lighting or even the idea? It's just an experiment. You can even say, sending out this video vision, make me do it. Take some action. Because when you do that, you are taking the baby step that Napoleon Hill spoke about. And by the way, Napoleon Hill said something really interesting. He said, the universe responds to your thoughts. The universe responds to your thoughts. But the universe also needs to know that you have intention. In other words, you're not just thinking, I want to get this idea out. You're actually going to take the baby steps. The universe doesn't like people who just sit in their butt. There's a funny joke I read about a guy who really wanted to get rich and really wanted to win the lottery. So he prayed three times a day to win the lottery. So in the morning he would pray to God, God, please, you gotta help me win the lottery. After lunch he would have a ritual where he would pray again, God, you gotta help me win the lottery. Before going to bed, he would pray, God, please, gotta win the lottery. There's so much I could do with that money. He did this three times a day for 30 years. And then one day he was crossing the street and he got hit by a bus and he died. And he actually meets God. So he goes up to God and he goes, God, like, what happened? I was so devoted. I prayed to you three times a day for 30 years, please help me win the lottery. And you did nothing. And God goes, you could have at least bought a ticket. So what is that micro action you can take to step out of this visibility wound and tell yourself a different story. So you know how I got out my visibility wound? I got out by accident. Well, two things happened. One is I was interviewing Jay Shetty on stage at an event Mindvalley was doing in Sardinia. And Jay was like super polished. This was 2017 Jay was super polished. Like, he knew exactly what to do to say. If you watch the video of it, which is on YouTube, I'm wearing, like, a $19 H&M shirt, really baggy jeans, horrible shoes, and I had no style, nothing. I'm reading from an iPad, and I'm so awkward. Jay was around 10 years younger than me. And after that, I sat down with Jay, and he's a very kind man. And I asked him, jay, you know what? How do you do what you do? And he goes, vishen, it's easy. You can do it too. And I go, jay, I don't have your hair. Jay, I don't have your voice. Like, I don't know how to do this. And he said, vishen, just start. Just start. It doesn't matter. You learn as you go on. I started somewhere too, and I, too, he said, I, too, had those doubts. That week, I did my first Instagram post. Before that, I used Instagram as a gratitude log. So I only posted pictures of things I was grateful for. You know, morning, cup of coffee, nice restaurant, playing with the kids. I started using Instagram in 2017 for the first time, just to communicate. And for the first couple of months, nothing happened. But within 10 months, something really interesting happened. I was living in Malaysia back then, and I read an article in the New York Times about how Malaysia, my country, had become the fattest country in Asia, and it had become the fattest country in Asia, according to this expose by the New York Times, because Nestle, which is the biggest company in Malaysia in the stock market, actually was funding the government nutrition society. So all the nutrition information going out to the public was approved by Nestle. And Nestle had this drink in Malaysia called Milo. Anyone here familiar with Milo? And Milo is marketed as a health drink to mothers. So growing up in Malaysia, I drank two glasses of Milo a day as a child. Okay, because everyone in Malaysia, we. Milo is a health drink. In schools, during sports days, they serve you Milo. But it turns out Milo is 40% sugar. 40%, except they don't call it sugar. On the box, it says Maltodextrin. So I got annoyed and I did a little Facebook video. I shared the New York Times article. I held up a can of Milo, and they sell it in these big cans. It's this big and this big. And every Malaysian home had one, and it's 40% sugar. And this was being fed to Malaysian children. And I took a blue marker and I colored 40% of the can blue. And I said, if you are feeding this to your child. You're giving your child sugar in the morning, sugar after they come home from school, sugar before they go to bed. Could this be why we in Malaysia are now officially the fattest country in Asia with 47% adult obesity? That video went viral, and the next thing you know, Nestle had people attacking me on Twitter. I was banned from all the Malaysian press because Nestle is the biggest advertiser in Malaysia. The local radio station, one bfm that was asking me to come on because I was one of the more popular entrepreneurs in my country. All of a sudden, I was not allowed on any radio station. But social media, safe today in Asia, families have WhatsApp groups. And so when this video went out on Facebook, it started getting circulated in WhatsApp groups. It got between 50 to 100 million views, made the front page of Reddit, front page of 9gag. And the Malaysian government didn't do anything because Nestle pays. But in Australia and New Zealand, Nestle lost its health rankings for Milo. And I got to make a dent on government policy for health because at a certain point, I got out of my damn visibility wound and I was able to speak my truth. What is it that you are going to change about the world when you step out? For me, it took anger. Anger and corruption. And what was happening in my country because of this policy? What is it going to be for you? The world is waiting. So the truth is your visibility can serve others. What is that thing that you stand for? What are you speaking out, speaking up for? What change do you want to see in the world? And let's face it, the world is pretty freaking broken right now. And it's broken because a large chunk of it is broken because of social media influence, because of how social media is dividing us. Because the wrong voices sometimes have the biggest microphones. But the good guys, the good guys, we're sitting in the shadow over analyzing if we have a right to share what we want to share, because we need to get everything correct and make sure we don't hurt anyone. What if we stop doing that? What if you speak up for the values that matter, for global unity, for peace, for the environment? What if you speak up for immigrants who are being pulled off the streets in America right now? What if you speak up against war? The problem with the world today is that you guys are stuck in the own BS in your head. And we need to change that. And I'm asking you to change that. Not just for your book, but for your children's children. So speak up. Do we have a deal? I want you to understand this. You are ready to be seen. And what we want to do in the rest of this summit and here at this wider event, help you get the tools. So once you understand that the visibility wound is a gift, your job right now is to do your part to make a better world. So where do we go from here? Well, there are many amazing speakers who we're going to be bringing on stage here. And of course in this wider event, there's Mr. Beast. Will Smith is speaking. So many, so much incredible talent. For those of you on Zoom, you get free access to this stage. And I want to tell you some of the stuff we're going to be covering. Number one, everything is hackable. Virality is not a random act. They are formulas for virality. And Brendan Cain, the guy who wrote the textbook on social media, he and his team, Hook Point, study all of these different formulas they actually have, like a consulting publication where they publish what works. Brendan Cain's going to be speaking about the formulas that work. His talk alone can change your goals, your results on social media. Then Marie Foglio is going to be speaking. And if you don't know Marie, she's one of the foremost marketing minds in the world. She's been doing this for 25 years. Her Marie Foglio B School is a six week program that teaches people to be entrepreneurs. And when she was at its peak In I believe 2010-2015, she would create all of this momentum online. People loved her. Then when she opened up her B school for enrollment, 20 million in revenue. I remember watching that in Malaysia and being in awe at how powerful this woman was at building fandom. So she's going to speak about how to reach the people who, just like you, are interested in the topics that you care about. Then we're going to go to Prince EA and I'm sure you've seen Prince EA because his videos have got 3 billion views. This guy is a master poet and storyteller. He's going to help you overcome imposter syndrome. And for those of you who are perfectionists, you're going to learn from Dominic Ashburn, one of our highest rated speakers. Dominic started out with nothing. And using AI tools, he learned to go from no budget, low budget nothing, to world class aesthetics and social media. And he's going to show you how. And then from other incredible speakers, John Lee. John speaks to audiences of 4 to 5,000 people in places like Singapore. John's going to show you how to turn virality and views into money. And you're also going to learn from Natalie Ellis, known as the boss Babe, on how to use social media to build a formidable brand that people love that can also generate money. So you're in for a powerful three day transformation and the three days are going to look like this. Day one is about finding your voice. Shortly here you'll hear from Brendan Cain. I'll be bringing up Marie Foglio for her interview. Day two is about being seen. We're going to go into some other really fascinating topics. Safwan, he's the brains behind many incredible YouTube channels like Daniel Priestley's channel. And he's going to show you how to make YouTube work for you, especially if you have educational content. Day three, get paid. You're also going to learn from Chris Do. Chris do is one of the top branding experts in the world and we're excited to have him on this stage. And of course, John Lee and Natalie Ellis. Now after this summit, you're going to learn that information alone doesn't create transformation. Implementation does. We'll talk about Mindvalley Social Media Mastery degree. It's a micro degree five month program. You can get information about it. There's a booth outside. I'll also present on it tomorrow. For those of you who are interested, we have a university called Mindvalley Academy and we run five month degrees and this is one of our more popular degrees so we'll talk about that too. But I want you to remember this, it's not about virality, it's about visibility. And we are super excited and honored to help you learn from all of these amazing teachers going from invisible to unstoppable. And that's where I'd like to see you, unstoppable. Thank you folks. Foreign.
Address this, this is the highlight summit. So you're not going to see all of the speakers but I can tell you we took the top rated, the ones that we really thought were going to change your life in some way. And you will see so many of those today. Brendan Kane, Prince ea, Marie Forleo Bishon will be back. It's going to be incredible. And I want to say thank you to all of you because as you know, this is recorded. But I am lying. I'm live with you. Our team is live with you. And it's so incredible how many of you are shar your visibility wounds and I want to remind you that when we take time to share, it gives permission to other people to share with you. So I just want to say thank you for that. Guys, and I want to remind you this. Name it as Vishen said, name that. Separate yourself from the past and the present and take micro visible actions. Again, this is such an important question that he asked and I just want to reiterate it to all of you. What are you going to create in the world when you get out of your visibility wound? And please let us know in the chat. We are, we're. This is what mindvalley is all about. We know that there is so much going on in the world and the way for things to get bettered, the way for there to be more light, is for each and every single one of you to really share what's in your heart, to give your gifts with the world, to bring your business and information or coaching or whatever your product is or even just your voice to the world. And so I hope you know now that this idea of visibility and I want to share this really quickly with you guys. You know, this is something I learned with Vishen last year and I didn't know and I saw some people say, I don't know if I have any visibility wounds, but I just did this affirmation, like I feel safe to be seen and heard and really started talking about that. And the next day I had one of the biggest things happen with Elon Musk sharing my video. And I was like, vishen, this is real. Who knew that I had these subconscious wounds? Thank you. So I want to remind all of you guys that your voice is your mission, your product, your service, your coaching, your light, your heart is here to be served with the world. So thank you for joining our first session. You know, one of the next biggest, you know, mistakes and lies are not just the ones that we have in our head, but they're the ones that we think about social media. And so we have brought on Brendan Cain. And for those of you that don't know, I know Vishen gave him a little intro, but I want to tell you more. He started this two decades ago. He was one of the first, first people to really bring influencers, making it a real thing. Working with Taylor Swift in her beginning of her career. 60 billion views he's accumulated and made hundreds of millions of dollars from his clients. And so he's here to break down five lies. Five lies that just aren't true about social media and how you can start creating, sharing, getting your content, getting your voice out in the world right now. So please everybody welcome this recording that we have and all this incredible information from such an expert. Brendan Kane.
Thank you Guys, it's a true pleasure to connect with everybody here today. I appreciate you coming out. We're going to have a ton of fun. We're going to dive in deep into some data on how to truly succeed in social media. So what I'm going to be diving in and I love what Vishen covered in terms of the mindset. Now we're really going to dive into what is possible. So I'm going to be digging into the five biggest lies in social media that are holding you back from success. So thanks Caitlin for that great introduction. A little bit about myself. My name is Brendan Cain and I've spent literally the past 20 years focused on one single thing and that is understanding who, what and why goes viral. Understanding why some brands, creators, businesses flourish and continue to break through while others seem to fall flat. So I have published three best selling books on the subject matter, one million followers, Cook Point and the Guide to Going Viral. And the reason I say that is each one of these books has the exact same dedication and that is I firmly believe there are people all over the world just like you that have the ability to transform it in a positive way with their message, a product or service. They just need that helping hand, that blueprint, that guide to make it happen. Like, I believe in this so much that I literally give away these books for free for people that follow me on social media. So what my commitment is to today is and over the next few days is to share my 20 plus years of experience studying content to the point is I founded a company called Hook Point where we spent over 15,000 hours manually researching and understanding why the top brands and content creators consistently break through to the tune of generating over 60 billion views, 100 million followers, and over a billion dollars in sales and revenue for our clients. So I would like to start here as a little bit of a mental exercise. I want you to imagine that you were given a treasure map. But with this treasure map, you know there's gold out there, but you're given no compass, no idea of where the gold is. So what do you do? We go out, you dig a hole, there's nothing there. Well, you dig another hole, there's nothing there. And you just keep digging and digging and digging until it looks like a gopher just completely attacked the area that you were trying to go after. And the reason I say that is social media is the same way for a lot of people is you keep creating content, creating content, throwing things against the wall and hoping something sticks, but you just can't find the goal, how many of you have kind of felt this way about social media, that you're constantly putting the time, the energy and effort, but you just can't seem to figure out what is the blueprint, what is the map? Yeah, I feel your pain. I know how frustrating that can be. So I want to do just a little bit of a level set of defining what social media is. Because to me, social media, it's more than a platform, it's really a revolution in communication. So what do I actually mean by that? Well, if we think back 20, 25 years ago, before social media, how did we reach the masses? Well, you need to have millions of dollars in marketing budget. You need to have a PR team, you need to have a publicist. You need to figure out, how do I get on television, how do I get into a magazine, how do I get into a billboard? Versus today, social media has decentralized communication to the masses. Literally, anyone with one of these, with a great story, can reach millions and millions of people with no cost at all. That is the remarkable part about social media. Now, I want to talk about what is going viral mean? Because going virality and viral is thrown out a lot. So what does going viral mean? To me, it's just about capturing attention. Enough attention to achieve your business goals and results. Now, everything that I'm going to share with you over the next few days today is I'm never gonna say go viral for the sake of going viral. This is not about vanity metrics. This is about business results. How do we achieve your goals? So in terms of the number of views, for some people, they generate 100,000 views and they're sold out. For other people it's a million. Another It's 10 million, it's 100 million. Virality isn't a number, it is an outcome. And that outcome is different for each individual. So I started my career back in 2005 on social media. So at the time, MySpace was the predominant player. They had 25 million users. Facebook was at 6 million. YouTube was at its first year and reached 8 million users. Now, the amazing thing about social media, back then, it was very simple. Somebody follows you, you post and people see it. What a revolutionary concept. Don't we all wish that social media was that easy today? Well, things changed. Well, what changed? Well, the reality is by 2010, we had 970 million people on social media. By 2015, we were 2.2 billion. By 2020, 3.96 billion. And we reached, in 2025, 5.2 billion. 5.2 billion people in less than 20 years. So what changed with all of that? Not just the number of people. It was the arrival of the algorithms. Because as platforms scaled, so did the complexity of what worked and what didn't. Because across social media today, there's over a billion pieces of content uploaded every single day. So if we think about opening up our favorite app, it doesn't matter if it's TikTok, if it's Instagram, it's YouTube, it's Facebook. There's probably 150,000 pieces of content that the algorithms could seed specifically to you based upon the people you follow and the content you've engaged. So obviously, we are not AI robots, at least not yet. We can't consume 150,000 pieces of content within seconds. So the algorithms had to be invented. Invented for what? To determine what are the first 5, 10, 15, 20 pieces of content they're going to seed specifically to you. To do what? To keep you on the platform longer. Why? Because all of these platforms make money off of retention, Meaning the longer we spend on these platforms, the more ads they serve and thus the more profit that they generate. So there's a lot of myths and demonization about the algorithms. One I hear a lot is, oh, they're just suppressing my reach on purpose to get me to pay for boost posts. Okay, if that's the case, then why is Mr. Beast the most subscribed person on YouTube? Why isn't it Nike? Why isn't it Netflix or Ikea? These companies that spend billions of dollars on advertising? And I will tell you of 20 years of doing this, 99% of the time, you're not being shadow banned. That's just not the case. You're competing with 150,000 pieces of content to reach the core person that you're trying to reach. So, obviously, as the algorithms took effect, there was a lot of frustrated businesses and content creators out there because they couldn't figure out what's going. They just went from I post and people see it to I post, and it's crickets. So they started to seek hacks and tricks and trends instead of prioritizing what the algorithms really want. And again, that's just retention. If you can prove you can hold people's attention and keep them on the platform longer, well, they will push you to as many people as possible. The amazing thing that people don't realize about the algorithms is they need us. We are the fuel that runs them. This is not Netflix or Disney where they're investing billions of dollars in original content, we are the fuel that runs them. So over 15,000 hours of research, we came away with this key hook point insight. And that is storytelling plus retention equals success. So what do I mean by that? Well, if we think about stories like Stranger Things just finished. How many people watch Stranger Things? Okay, so what happens with stories? Any movie or TV show, you start it and if it's a great story, what do you want? You want to see what happens at the end. It holds your attention and that is what storytelling plays to what the algorithms want. Because when people start a great story, they finish it. What is that? It's retention. It's holding the audience's attention so that they will push your content longer. So today, what I'm going to do is dive into the five biggest lies that are holding you back from success and show you what is truly possible. And I guarantee any one of you can master social media. I mean, we work with people that start with 0 followers, 0 views all the time, and they become experts on social media and scale massive audiences. So let's start with lie number one. Virality is pure luck. So how many of you have spent a ton of time, energy, resources, really put your heart and soul into a piece of content and it just falls flat? Raise your hand and I want to hear from people in the chat here. Put a yes in the chat if you felt that pain. Yeah, I feel that. I know what that is like. And the reality is there is a science to this. I know it can kind of feel like you need the Willy Wonka golden ticket, you need a magic Harry Potter wand, you need a lottery winning lottery ticket to kind of unlock the algorithm to get you reach, but it's not. There's a science that science is rooted in storytelling and I promise anyone can learn it. So growing up, I was captivated by movies. I loved movies. Sometimes I'd go to the movie theater and I wouldn't just stay and watch one movie. You know, as a young kid, I didn't have money. I would just go into one movie theater, the next one, the next one. Sometimes I watch two or three movies in the same theater in one day. So when I grew up, I wanted to go to film school. So when I went to university, I went to film school. And the amazing thing is I wanted to be a movie producer. I wanted to do the business side of it. But the interesting thing about film school is even though I want to do business, they made me take acting classes. I'm the first thing from an actor. They made me Take screenwriting classes. They made me learn how to write light sets, edit all these things. Why? Because there's all these nuances that come together to tell a great story. So I started my career in the movie industry and I worked for academy Award winning producers and it was a fascinating experience to see these people that reach the highest levels of storytelling and yet they could produce a movie and it just didn't come through. Like, have you ever kind of been so excited to see a movie and you walk out and you're like, I don't know. But that just wasn't great. I can't figure out what it was, but something just wasn't there. Well, it's because one of these nuances was off. Maybe the chemistry between the actors wasn't there, maybe the director and the actors didn't get along, or the dialogue wasn't there, the lighting wasn't there. The reason I bring that up is social media is the same way. It's not about hope. We're not trying to play the luck game. It's about understanding the key elements of storytelling that drives success. So here's a simple truth about social media. Trends are fleeting, stories are not. Now a lot of talk about social media is about trends. Chase the trend, follow the trend, use this trending audio and you'll go viral. Well, the reality is trends don't lead to a mastery of story. So like the analogy I use is, let's all say that we are going to learn a musical instrument. So if we follow the trend route, week one, it's the saxophone. Week two, we're changing, we're going to go to the drums. Week three, it's the guitar. Week four, it's the flute. Well, if you keep changing the instrument each week, are you ever going to become a master of an instrument? No. So that is where storytelling comes in. So in the 15,000 hours of research that I said we've done, what we do is we study called storytelling formats. So a format is a well researched structure that has proven to have success time and time again that you can insert your message, your brand, your company into. So an analogy I like to use is if you think about the skeleton, the human skeleton, that is kind of the format. And the soul is the story, the way that you express yourself through that format. So formats allow that flexibility. And I'm going to show you a few examples today of what these formats look like. So I want to start here because this is an amazing guy that we worked with. Some of you may have seen his work, his Name is Tanner Leatherstein, and he's an amazing guy. At the age of 11, he crafted his first leather jacket.
Age 11.
And he just fell in love with the art of crafting leather goods to the point when he grew older, he created his own company called Paguy that creates leather crafted goods. You know, custom purses, briefcases, wallets, and things of that nature. But the challenge was he was brilliant. He had 30 years of experience, but nobody was paying attention. He was stuck at 2,000 followers and he kept scrolling. He was up till 2am Scrolling, scrolling, scrolling, and seeing competitors with less experience, poor quality goods, going viral and selling out. How many of you guys have seen that? Raise your hand. I want to hear from you in the chat. Like, how many of you have seen people that have far less experience than you just killing it on social media? You can't figure out why. I can. You know, my products, my expertise is better than this person, but everybody's paying attention to them. Well, that is. That is what he was feeling. So Tanner, when he came to us, he was doing what most business owners were doing. He was just creating ads. But that just failed. It kept him stuck. Why? Because how many people log into social media saying, I want to see a great ad today? Nobody. So let's actually look at what Tanner was doing before with his ads.
What can I say? Except you're welcome for the tides, the sun, the sky, hey, it's okay. It's okay to welcome. I'm just an ordinary.
So I mean, there's nothing engaging there. I mean, he's just trying to sell his product, and that makes sense as a business. You just think, well, I just got to tell people my products. But unfortunately, social media doesn't work that way. Social media is not about pushing your products. It's about building trust, getting people to know, like, and trust you, and then they will ultimately want to buy from you. So when Tanner came to us, we helped him design a format called is it worth it? Where he takes very expensive, handcrafted leather goods, deconstructs it on screen, and tells you whether it's worth the money that you paid for. So let's look at an example of Tanner using the is it worth it? Format.
Coach leather bags.
Are they worth it?
I went to the Coach store yesterday, and this was the bag I loved the most. Sales associate told me this was made out of Glo tan leather and the inside was suede. But I have my doubts. And as you can see, this is all fabric, not suede. In my opinion, about six feet of.
Leather to put this bag together.
About five dollar a foot. $30 for the leather.
Insanely good brass accessories.
They used a lot of them with the fabric. I give it another $30. So $60 in materials and in my estimate, about $70 should be enough to put this back together. In total, $130 for the materials and labor. I paid $450.
Doesn't sound like a bad deal.
I love the leather, the feel and look of it. I hate that. I was told inside was suede and it's fabric. And they used pu leather for the story patch inside. I wish it was real leather.
So we generated 10 million views with this video. And the amazing thing is, when Tanner came to us, he didn't even feel comfortable on camera. He had the imposter syndrome that Vishen was talking about. But if you see this format, he's just sharing his expertise. He's not acting. He's not doing a silly TikTok dance video. He's being himself. He's sharing his expertise. Now, the amazing thing is about a format. It's not just about getting one hit. Tanner exploded. He went from 2000 followers to 2.5 million across his social media channels. He has 94 videos with over a million views, 16 videos over 4 million views. And one of his products, just one of his products on Etsy sold over a million dollars. Now, if you can see with Tanner, he's not doing CTAs, he's not saying buy my products or services. He's building a relationship through people, and they ultimately want to take that next step. Now, as I talk about formats, just know that formats can work in any industry, any sector, any niche. It doesn't matter. Anything can go viral. And I'll show you a little bit more about that in a few minutes. So the real actionable takeaway I want to leave you guys with on this first slide is going viral. It's not luck. It is storytelling. People misconstrue what social media is. They think it's this mystery black box. It's history repeating itself. It's just another storytelling platform. It's where the radio, the television, films, this is the next step into that. And formats, and I'll be digging into more of that, are the key to success. And that is why I spent the last 20 years studying and understanding storytelling, to create a system that allows predictable success over and over again. So before we move into number two, I want to do a fun little quiz for you guys in the audience and for you people attending in Zoom. So what we're going to do is we're going to watch two different videos. Video one, video two. And I'm going to ask you which one performed better, and then we'll dig into why. Okay, so that's video one. So let's watch video two and start to think about which one performed better. And then I'm going to ask you guys, and then we'll reveal the results. And I'm feeling good.
River.
Fish in the sea. You know how I feel.
River running free.
Okay, so those of you on Zoom put in the chat one or two, which one you think performed better? One or two? So you in the audience, how many think one performed better? Nobody. Nobody? Okay, number two, raise your hand. Okay, you passed the test. Okay, so the first video generated 3,500 views, and it was by Pantene. The second video was with our client of ours, regina Roth, generated 17 million views. So let's actually break down why. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to share with you the performance drivers. So, performance drivers sounds like a very technical term, but it's very simple. It's things that drive performance up and things that drive performance down. So let's start with the first one where we have the contrast. So In Regina's video, Vimeo 2, there is a very stark visual contrast of the before and after. It allows us to appreciate the transformation versus in the Pantene video, there's no visible difference between seeing the before and after. It minimizes the impact. The second performance driver is the pacing. So Regina, she builds the anticipation, and that anticipation amplifies the emotional impact of the reveal. And then on the Pantene video, there is no transformation. There is no payoff for the viewer. The next performance driver is the reaction. So there is genuine emotions from both the client and Regina, the hairstylist that really pulls us in as viewers and connects with us. Versus with Pantene, there's just a real overreaction. It just feels inauthentic. And then finally, the authentic storytelling. So with Regina, there's a real relatable moment. It creates a deep connection with us as the audience versus with the Pantene. You can just tell this is an ad. There's professional lighting, fancy cameras, a paid actor. It just doesn't connect. So the reason I like to do this little exercise is it really amplifies lie number two, which is you need big budgets, large teams. And this one, this lie is real dangerous. Why? Because I see it all the time. Very brilliant and capable People keeping themselves on the sidelines to say, you know, I'm going to take social media seriously when I can afford that social media manager, when I have a big budget, when I can buy that fancy camera, when I can hire an editor. But the reality is over. Production works against you, like we just saw with the Pantene video. Why? Because all of us today are professional content consumers. So what I mean by that is we're constantly scrolling on social media every single day. So our subconscious has been trained that the minute we see a fancy edit, a fancy song, lighting an actor, we're like, oh, this person's gonna sell us something. We just move on to the next one. So to dive a little bit into Regina's story, because it's really inspirational, is I received a message from her a while back that her dream was slipping away. She was a hairstylist and she had been working for other hair salons her entire career. But now she wanted to open her own salon. So she moved to a new city and she had no team, no budget, and she wasn't having success. She was going into debt trying to make this dream happen. She was posting every day, constantly, hours and hours and hours, not seeing the success. She was weeks away from closing her doors and she started to believe the lies. Well, maybe I do need a big team. Maybe I do need a big budget. But in reality, she didn't. She just needed the right format and the success was amazing. Everything shifted with Regina with this format, and it wasn't her talent, it was just her approach. So many people believe I need to be somebody else to be successful in social media. No, you don't. You just need the right structure. And we taught her that in order for people to really connect with you as an audience, they need to feel something, they need to learn something. And that shift just caused her to explode. The video we just watched with her 17 million views, that was the second video she created using our hook point model. But it didn't stop there. She's over 100 million views, but she became booked out an entire year in advance. Her monthly income went from 3,000amonth to 17,000amonth. But not only that, it opened up a world of possibilities that she didn't know was possible. She has brand collaborations reaching out to her, you know, partnerships, all because she learned how to take tell a great story. So remember in the beginning, I just want to reiterate this with this thing right here that every one of you have in your pocket, if you tell a great story, you can reach Millions and millions of people. And I know that it can feel like success is reserved for the big corporations, the big budgets, fancy cameras, or a certain level of fame. But the reality is, you have the tools available to you. So the simple truth is that hooking attention and telling a great story will beat overproduced content every single time. You don't need a big budget. You don't need a big team. You don't need a fancy camera. Literally, some of our most successful clients are just using this, and they're blowing up. Regina is one of them. So don't let that lie limit you. So the actual strategies that we can take away here is, number one, we want to find a format that fits our resources. So I always. When we work with people, I tell people, start with where you're at. If all you have is a phone, start with a phone. If you have a team, that's great. You can leverage a team, but you do not need to extend yourself. It makes a massive investment in a big team and big equipment. Number two is focus on storytelling, not advertisements. That's why I like showing the the juxtaposition of what Tanner was doing with the ads versus the formats afterwards. And then prioritize emotional content over polished production. Okay, so another little pop quiz. This one's a little bit more difficult. So ramping up here. So we have three different videos. One that is about terrariums, one that's about car insurance. The other is about warranties. So in the chat, I want you to tell me which one went viral. Is it terrariums, car insurance, or warranties? So for you in the audience, raise your hand if you think it was terrariums. No, no. Tell me, which one do you think would borrow? Yeah. Now, I'm not showing you the videos until you guess. Okay, so, like, 10%. Okay. Car insurance, raise your hand. Wow. People think car insurance is sexy. Okay, Warranties. Okay, so most people think it's warranties. Okay, well, sorry, guys. I tricked you. It's all three. So we've got Ben Newell with terrariums, Chris Cobb with car insurance, and Erica Kohlberg, who's speaking here with warranties. So let's watch all three of these videos.
Watch what happens when I put a.
Cucumber in this terrarium.
So Ben, a dear friend of mine, generates 68 million views of this video. He's built an audience of 2.9 million people about terrariums. Terrariums. Okay, so now let's look at another client of ours, Chris Cobb, and he uses the visual metaphor Format to explain car insurance.
This is how car insurance works in 60 seconds. So here we have Job who just got a new hot rod. And that's when the insurance company comes in and says, hey, Judd, nice car.
But have you thought about what would.
Happen if you get an accident?
And he's like, no.
They said, well, John, if you pay us $1 a month, it's called a premium, we'll cover your car. He's like, okay, that's a no brainer.
So Josh speeds off. He's having a good time on the highway.
He's texting and driving. Got please don't do that. Because he actually gets to the fender bender with his friend Marcus. And John is freaking out because he's thinking how to fix Marcus car.
How am I fix my own car?
And that's when the insurance company says, john, you've been paying the $1 premium. So here you go, here's $10. Go Fix Market's car and go fix your own. And John is super relieved because he did not have $10 to fix his car. And you may be wondering, how does the insurance company afford this? Well, they have thousands of jobs who put money into a jar every single month and they're not getting in accidents. But the insurance company is smart. They're saying, john, I'm glad you're safe, but I'm sorry to give you the bad news. You're a risky driver. You're costing us too much. So instead of $1 in premium, I'm gonna have to charge you two every single month. And that's how car insurance works. John is paying a little bit to cover a lot. But because John is more risky now, the insurance company is going to charge him more or even worse, they may drop his coverage. If you like the content, follow for more. This was actually a request from someone.
5.4 million views about car insurance using the visual metaphor format. So finally, let's watch Erica Colberg. She uses a format that I'm sure you guys have seen before. It's called two characters, one light bulb. Where it's the same person that plays two different characters.
My shoe has a tear. Can I get a new pair?
You bought that almost two years ago.
There's nothing we can do since it's been over 60.
60 days.
She has no idea. I know.
Watch this.
I'm not talking about the 60 day return policy. I've actually read your terms and I know that as long as it's been less than two years since the manufacturer.
Date found here, it's covered. Under the warranty.
And Nike will either give me a.
Brand new pair or a gift card.
For the same value.
Oh, fine.
We don't carry that one anymore. So here's your hundred dollar gift card.
Who taught you this?
Erica did.
She's a lawyer and reads the fine.
Prints that I don't have to. That's why I follow her.
So 75 million views with a video on warranties. So that leads us to lie number three. My business. It's just not sexy enough. I know you guys have probably sat there and like watched people in other industries just break through and you're just like, you know what? I wish I can be in that industry because then I would kill it on social media. But the reality is there are people just like you in industries you never expect that break through. It is not anything. Anything can go viral. We just watched terrariums go viral. Terrariums go viral. You can go viral. Okay, so I want to share another inspirational story with a client of ours, Corey Warren. And he rebuilt his entire life through sobriety. He struggled through it for years and years and years. And you know, once he went through that process, he really felt called to to guide others on their journey and helping them because he knew the information that he had learned could save lives. But the problem was he was scared to death that this message was going to get lost. It was going to get covered up by silly TikTok dance videos, by pet videos, by people jumping off the roof or setting themselves on fire. But we knew it could work. So we matched him with the visual metaphor format to transform his message to impact lives around the world. So let me show you what this looks like of Corey Warren using the visual metaphor format. And again, you'll see the production value super low. He's just shooting this on his iPhone.
This is what nobody wants to talk about with alcohol. My name is Corey. I'm an alcoholic. And for the longest time, I thought that alcohol was my problem. I thought that if I could just put the alcohol down, everything would be okay. What I realized is that alcohol is not my problem. Alcohol is my solution. When I had a bad day, alcohol was my solution. My wife and I were fighting. Alcohol was my solution. If I couldn't pay my bills, alcohol was my solution. See, alcohol was never the problem. The problem was I didn't know how.
To handle my life.
So once I put the alcohol down and all that alcohol got up out of my cup, I could finally start to focus on me. And once I started focusing on the problem, I no longer Needed the alcohol. If you want to quit drinking, hit me up.
I'll do it with you.
Peace.
So this video has amazing message. This video generates 77 million views across TikTok, Instagram and YouTube. And he has generated over 250 million eyeballs on his content through this message. So he took one of the toughest subject matters possible, addiction, and turned it into something shareable, something inspirational, and something hopeful. And that is the big point of formats. It's not there to compromise your message. It's not there to to restrict it. It's there to design, to help people hear it, to help people break through. So there is no niche that is too small. There is no topic that is too abstract, as long as you have the right format to express it. Now, what made Corey's message go viral? What made Erica Kohlberg, Ben Newell, and Corey break through? Well, hook point. We call this the generalist principle. So what is the generalist principle? It is something that allows your content to make it accessible to the wider possible audience while still talking to your core niche audience. So people make this big mistake and say, I just want to talk to my niche. And this principle, marketing principle, was designed pre social media. But on social media, as we learned about the algorithms, is they have a billion pieces of content every day to choose from, a billion. So they want content that they can see to as many people as possible and grab and hold attention. So we still want to speak to our niche. And if you saw all those examples, they're not changing who they are, they're not changing their subject matter. They're just speaking to their niche audience, but also making accessible to everyone. So that's what the generalist principle is called. So how do we actually execute on this? So one of the key elements is simplicity, is use clear, easy to understand language. We're experts in our field and oftentimes we use jargon that we've learned that other people don't understand. The other is storytelling. We've talked a lot about this. But you want to engage your audience with relatable stories and emotions, and then finally is broad appeal. We want to connect with universal themes. Challenges. Again, this is all around your subject matter. We're not going viral for the sake of going viral. We're taking your subject matter and allowing it to explode. So let's look at some actionable strategies here. So we have the universal angle going from I'm a real estate agent to let me take you on a tour of a $7 million closet that's an actual video on YouTube by Ryan Sirhand. Then we turn specifics and relatable stories. So it's the benefits of dental hygiene. We turn that into 90% of people are ruining their teeth without realizing it. Then using universal or using analogies and unexpected comparisons. So imagine if all the bread in the world suddenly doubled in price overnight. That's how inflation works. And then finally, one of the most important things that we talk about at hook point is effect on viewer. So when we're creating content, we're always thinking about ourselves. I want to sell my product. I want to generate number of leads. I want to get people to share this. I want to get people to follow me. But that's not how you design effective content. Think about the other person on the other side of the screen. What do you want them to feel? What do you want them to think? What is the effect that you want them to have after watching your video? So the reality here is any business, product or service can go viral. There are people in all different types of industries that are succeeding. So do not let that lie hold you back. So another little fun pop quiz. So get ready for everybody on zoom to enter in your answers in the chat. So we have an educational YouTube channel, and it explores science, engineering, and innovative problem solving. But on average, they only post once a month. So my question to you is, how many views do you think this channel generated in the past year? Is it a, 10,000 views? For those of you zooming in, put your answer in the chat. B, 100,000, C, a million, or D, over 10 million. So raise your hand if you think it's A, okay, raise your, put your hands down. B, a, C, and then D, put your hands down. How many people think I'm tricking you again? Okay, yeah, I tricked you. It's over 300 million views. So this is from Mark Rober. I'm sure a lot of you guys know him if you don't definitely check out his channel. He was a former NASA engineer. And what he proves is that success isn't about posting frequently. It's posting about posting strategically. And again, this is another example, an engineer making content go viral. So this is line number four. More posts lead to more success. Now, you hear this all the time. Frequency is key to success. It's simply not true. Now, there was a time 10, 15 years ago when there was less content on the platforms where it could work. But now these algorithms, these platforms have so much content to choose from. So the simple truth is that quality beats quantity every time. So what do I mean by that? Well, audiences pay attention to the quality of content. So think about the last TV show that you chose to watch, whether it was binge watching or just in general. Well, how did you make that decision? Well, I make it by, I see the trailer and I'm like, hey, this looks good. I'm gonna watch this. Or a friend recommends it to me. I'm not looking at, oh, how many episodes and what's the length of each episode to determine whether I'm going to watch it? It's all about the quality of it. Now, once you've mastered everything that we're talking about, mastered storytelling, then you can increase the frequency if you choose to do so. But starting in that place, without mastering and understanding formats, understanding storytelling elements, you're just going to burn yourself out. So what are the actionable strategies that we can take away? So these are some, a little bit of a rubric of things that you can ask yourself before posting content. Number one, does this post solve a problem for my audience? Does it tell a compelling story and does it hold attention from start to finish? So these are three questions that you can ask yourself about it. Then we have the IKEA effect before we get into line. Number five. So it's amazing. I was flown out to work with IKEA's global creative team. And the fascinating thing is about IKEA, it's in Sweden and it's in a town that the founder was born in. And like basically everybody in the town works for ikea. But when they flew me out there, they put me up in an IKEA hotel. Did you know there's an IKEA hotel? It's pretty crazy. Like all the beds and the furniture and stuff is IKEA stuff. It's amazing. But the reason I bring up IKEA is there's just amazing aspect of it, is that with just instructions and a few tools, they turn you into a professional content or furniture builder. Like, I can't build anything, but I can go to IKEA and I can buy a desk and I can assemble it. So it got me thinking, well, what was life like before IKEA? What was like life like 80 years ago, 100 years ago? Do you have to go into the forest and chop down trees and start sanding it and sawing it, putting it together? I mean, I would have failed miserably. My house would be bare, empty, there would be no furniture. Talk as loud as possible. There we go. So IKEA changed everything. They turned everyday people into furniture builders. And that's where lie number five comes in that you need experience? No, you just need a system that works. IKEA turned the average person into a professional furniture builder. Because success isn't all about experience. It's about having the right guide and the right tools. And the same thing applies to social media. You don't have to have years of experience if you have the right format, if you have the right blueprint. You just need a proven system that works. So I want to share another story with an amazing woman, Dr. Erin Nance. She completely destroys this lie that you need more experience. At age 7, she broke her arm, went to the emergency room and had to have surgery. She was so transformed by that experience. Experience that when she grew up, she wanted to be a surgeon, she wanted to be a hand surgeon. So she had all this experience, a successful practice. But when it came to social media, she had no idea where to start. She came to us with zero followers, zero views, didn't even know how to open a social media account. But with that, she started to kind of believe these lies. Am I too old for TikTok? Are people interested in a hand doctor? I don't want to do silly TikTok dance videos. And those lies are starting to limit her. But despite all of her doubt, her success came from mastering a format. So we helped her design a format called Little Misdiagnosed. And it's really inspiring. It shares her experiences of what it's like to work in the emergency room and stories behind that. So let's watch a short little clip.
There are some sounds in medicine that once you hear them, cannot be unheard. This is the story of a 27 year old male screaming for help from his mother and how he ended up in that place.
So I'm the junior on call for.
Ortho and I'm already in the ER seeing a bunch of consults and I hear someone screaming.
Now, I take care of people who.
Are in car accidents, who are in burns, who are being bitten by dogs, but I have never in my career heard someone screaming like this.
And so do you want to know why this guy was screaming? You're going to have to go to a channel and watch it. We don't have enough time. But it just the storytelling there, it makes you want to watch until the end. This single video with her iPhone with no experience, 9.5 million views. But that wasn't all. She has 834,000 followers in 150 million views, 31 videos with a million views. She's now a keynote and TEDx speaker. She's published her first memoir she has a podcast deal, and she's now pitching a reality TV show in Hollywood. And she founded a company, Found Better health, with a 7,000 wait list. So I say this because if a hand surgeon can make this work, anybody can. Now, to wrap things up a little bit. Story about my first book, one million followers, is, I don't talk about this a lot, but when I started on that journey, this was like 2016. I had a lot of doubt. Who am I to write a book? I don't know how to write. I'm not a professional writer who wants to hear from me? And I was letting those lies hold me back until I'm like, you know what? I'm just going to hire somebody to guide me on that journey. I hired a woman that had written 20 successful books to guide me on that journey. And because of that, I sought guidance, and it became an international best seller. So the simple truth here is an effective system and a guide are more crucial than extensive experiences. So to wrap things up, the actual strategies that we have here is follow a proven blueprint, learn from those who have proven it, and don't wait. Take action now, because success comes from taking action. So if you've ever felt that success is just for the lucky, those with big budgets and teams, a sexy industry or celebrity status, constant posting, you have to constantly be posting insider knowledge. Just remember these are all lies that are limiting your success. So stop letting these lies hold you back. Remember that storytelling is the key to success. So thank you guys so much. If you follow me on Instagram, I'll send you some free guides and insights, but I appreciate all your time. Thank you.
Brendan Cain is so incredible, and I love hearing his story at the end because just as Vishen was sharing earlier about visibility wounds, I saw a couple people in the chat bring up imposter syndrome. And, you know, it's. We know Brendan talked about our subconscious mind, but sometimes in life when we're. We're not this identity anymore, we know that we're meant to be doing something else. We know that we're being called to create content or maybe start a new business, but it's still that identity isn't locked in. And it's scary, and we're in that in between. But hearing from experts that have been through this, right, Hearing Brendan talk about how he wanted to write this book, but it was, who am I to write a book, right? And even hearing all these different testimonials from the doctor, I don't want to just do TikTok dances online but understanding that their strategy. And I love how he ended on storytelling because that really is a great leeway into our next speaker, who, you know, I could tell you so many amazing things about him, about being on Oprah's Super Sunday, Soul Sunday, about being Forbes 30 under 30. But get this. The reason he has all of these, you know, accomplishments is because he was telling a story from his heart. And that is what is so important. And as you all know, we are living in the world of AI And AI is amazing in so many ways. However, how can you stand out? How can you use your voice? How can you build a personal brand in the age of AI? As Brendan said, we know that quantity isn't. Isn't the key anymore. It's quality. So you don't have to worry about using a and pumping videos out. You have to use your voice. You have to speak from your heart. You have to be able to. To let people know that I'm human, that I'm human. And the same problems that you go through as a human, I go through them, too. The same feelings that you feel, the same fear, the same doubt, the same problems that you want a solution to. I feel them. And so I'm so excited because our next speaker is truly a master with his mind and also his heart. And I just want to share this with you. Before you went on the stage in Dubai, I was there and I said, prince, what is it that. What's your intention? And he said, just to get over, just to get out of the way so that a higher power can come through and deliver a message. And so this message that you're going to hear on how to build a personal brand is truly incredible. And it's going to be what separates you in a world of AI, in a world where everything is becoming fake and we don't know, unrealistic, how can you stand out? How can you use your heart and your voice to really make an impact on in this world? So, everybody, we're going to toss the clip to Prince E.
It is not death most people are afraid of. It is getting to the end of life only to realize that you never truly lived. There was a study done, a high hospital study, on 100 elderly people facing death close to their last breath. They were asked to reflect about their life's biggest regret. Nearly all of them said they regretted not the things they did, but the things they didn't do. The risks they never took, the dreams they didn't pursue. I ask you, will your last words be if only I hit hey, you. Wake up. Why do you exist? Life is not meant to simply work, wait for the weekend and pay rent. No, no. I don't know much, but I know this. Every person on this earth has a gift. And I apologize to the black community, but I can no longer pretend. Martin Luther King, that man never had a dream. That dream had him. See, people don't choose dreams. Dreams choose them. So the question I'm getting to is, do you have the courage to grab the dream that picked you, that befits you and grips you? Or will you let it get away and slip through? You know, I learned a fact about airplanes the other day. Now this was. This was so surprising. See, I was talking to a pilot and he told me that many of his passengers think planes are dangerous to fly in. But he said, actually, it is a lot more dangerous for a plane to stay on the ground. I said, what? Like, how does that sound? Well, he said. He said, because on the ground, the plane starts to rust, malfunction and wear much faster than it ever would if it was in the air. As I walked away, I thought, yeah, makes total sense. Because planes were built to live in the skies. And every person was built to live out the dream they have inside. So it is perhaps the saddest loss to live a life on the ground without ever taking off. See, most of us are afraid of the thief that comes in the night to steal all of our things. But there is a thief in your mind who is after your dreams. His name is Doubt. If you see him, call the cops and keep him away from the kids. Cause he is wanted for murder. For he has killed more dreams than failure ever did. He wears many disguises and like a virus, will leave you blinded, divided and turn you into a kinda. See, kinda is lethal. You know what kinda is? It's a lot of kinda people. You kinda want a career change. You kinda wanna get straight A's. You kinda wanna get in shape. Simple math. No numbers to crunch. If you kinda want something, then you will kinda get the results you want. What is your dream? What ignites that spark? You can't kinda want that. You gotta want it with every part of your whole heart. Will you struggle? Yeah. Yeah, you will struggle. No way around it. You will fall many, many times. But who's counting? Just remember, there's no such thing as a smooth mountain. If you want to make it to the top, then there are sharp ridges that must be stepped over. There will be times you get stressed and things you get depressed over. But let me tell you Something. Steven Spielberg was rejected from film school three times. Three times. But he kept going. The television execs fired Oprah, said she wasn't fit for tv, but she. She kept going. Critics told Beyonce that she couldn't sing. She went through depression, but she kept going. Struggle and criticisms are prerequisites for greatness. That is the law of this universe. And no one escapes it. Because pain is life. But you can choose what type. Either the pain on the road to success or the pain of being haunted with regret. You want my advice? Don't think twice. We have been given a gift that we call life. So don't blow it. You were not defined by your past. Instead, you were born anew in each moment. So own it now. Sometimes you gotta leap and grow your wings on the way down. You better get the shot off before the clock runs out. Cause ain't no overtime in life. No do over. And I know I sound like I'm preaching on speaking with force. But if you don't use your gift, then you sell not only yourself, but the whole world short. So what invention do you have buried in your mind? What idea, what cure, what skill do you have inside to bring out to this uni verse? Uni meaning one, verse meaning song. You have a part to play in this song. So grab that microphone and be brave. Sing your heart out on life stage. You cannot go back and make a brand new beginning. But you can start now and make a brand new ending. What's going on? What's going on? What's up, Dubai? Let's go, let's go, let's go. Wow, wow, wow, wow. Beautiful, beautiful crowd. So how many of you guys have ever heard of me? Seen me? Raise your hand. Or this is your first time, Raise your hand. Okay, good. Just to. Just to make sure. Just get. Everybody raise their hand. Listen, we're gonna have some fun today. My name is Prince ea and I'm gonna teach you nine steps to build an iconic personal brand in the age of AI. I want to tell you a quick story about this man. This is Arthur Barry. Now, Arthur Barry was a man of. He loved finer taste, the finer things in life. He was a jewel thief. And this was during the Great Depression, the Roaring Twenties. And he wasn't just your average jewel thief, he was the best.
He.
In fact, some estimate that he stole up to $50 million worth of jewelry. But the thing is, he only stole from the very wealthy. Well, one day, Arthur Berry was in the middle of a heist and he was leaving down the alley and he got shot and captured by the police, and they threw him in jail for 18 years. Well, after Arthur Berry got out, he decided, listen, I just want to live a quiet life. So he moved to a small town in New England in the US and he's like, I just listen. I just want to live a quiet life and just settle down. Well, pretty soon his neighbors recognized him, and they realized they were living next door to the infamous Arthur Barry. So pretty soon, reporters started flooding in to try to get an understanding of what was going on in the infamous Arthur Berry's mind. So one of the reporters asked arthur Barry, he said, arthur Barry, you have stolen from so many people. Who would you say you stole the most from? And Arthur Barry, with a tear coming down his face, he said, you know, the person I stole the most from was Arthur Barry. He said, I could have been a teacher. He said, I could have been a businessman. I could have done anything worthwhile with my life. But instead, I spent two thirds of my adult life in prison. I spent a lifetime robbing myself. And so I start this presentation.
With.
The story of Arthur Berry, because I believe we all have a little bit of Arthur Berry inside of us. The self doubt that's stealing our dreams, the imposter syndrome that's robbing us of a future that we know we really deserve. And so today, I'm going to give you a lot of tips, a lot of hacks, but the most important thing I want you to do is realize that it is time. It is time to get out of the shadows and step into the light. It is time to get out of your head and into your greatness, into your purpose. And the way that I know how to do that is as a content creator. How many content creators are in here? Pretty much everybody. You know, the creator is such a. It's a divine thing. It's a divine profession. I mean, a creator is someone who is bringing something new, birthing something new into the world that had never been seen before. That's a noble profession. And so if you're a content creator, then you know something. Right now, AI artificial intelligence, is taking over. It's everywhere. Right. I'm sure maybe people on this stage have even talked about, you do this with AI you clone yourself. You do that. You do. And AI is a great tool. I use it. But in a world where everybody has access to the same tools, this is a world where information won't matter, connection will. And so as we sit or stand in the museum of the future, I can guarantee you by saying, that the future is human. And your success on social media as a creator is going to be dictated by how much you can embrace and bring out what makes you human. See, Today there are 207 million content creators worldwide. Human, human, not artificial. Human. Content creators worldwide. 207 million. And of those 207 million, 127 million can be described as an influencer. And of those 127 million influencers, there are 4 million of those that are considered authorities in their niche. Now, 4 million may seem like a big number, but it's only 2%. So the question is, what do the 2% do to stand out that the 98% don't? Now, listen, I'm not a gatekeeper. I'm here to give you everything that I know. I've been doing this social media thing for almost two decades. I'm super old.
But.
And what I'm going to tell you is not theory. It's not what I think. It's what I know, what I've seen and experienced. But it's going to be up to you to take this information and do something positive with it. See, Martin Luther King said, those of us who love peace must organize as effectively as those who love war. As they spread the propaganda of war, we must spread the propaganda of peace. See, I believe that the people here actually. Let's see. Raise your hand if you have a mission bigger than yourself. It's perfect. It's the perfect audience for it. So I want to ask you one question, because sometimes our missions, we get off track. I know I do. Sometimes the world can distract us. But let me ask you this one question before I get into my presentation. What do these two men have in common? Charles Manson and Warren Buffett. What did somebody call out? Determination. Iq. Okay. Influencer. Okay, I think that was pretty spot on. Here's a little bit more spot on. They were both star students of the Dale Carnegie training program. How to Win Friends and Influence People. So you can take what I'm going to share with you. Build or destroy. And since I know everybody here wants to build, I want you to take this pledge with me. All right, Everybody say after me, I promise to use what I'm about to learn for good and not evil, to uplift humanity, not darken it and make the world better through content. Give yourselves a round of applause. I already love you guys. I already love you guys so much. I got another favor. Do me this big favor. This favor comes in the form of a riddle, all right? It's not a trick question. It's a tricky question. All right, there's four frogs sitting on a log. One decides to jump off. How many frogs are now sitting on a log? You guys are smart. See, most people say, what do you mean, three? Even they know. Jesus, it's four. Because even if you decide to do something, that doesn't mean you're actually gonna do it. You gotta do it. And so everything I'm gonna tell you today, listen, don't let your knowledge stay as knowledge. Ideas without labor still born. I want you to take action. With everything that I'm gonna share with you today. Take imperfect action. I am a recovering perfectionist, and I know that many of you are, too. So take imperfect action. Let me tell you a little bit about me. I am a St. Louis native. I was born and raised in the city of St. Louis. St. Louis is the most dangerous city in the United States. I used to wake up and on my front porch were gun casings and bullets, and it was pretty insane. But something inside of me did not allow my external environment to dictate my future. And so I started getting into this thing called YouTube at the time, and I was curious about it at the time. I was making music and just trying to do my content. And I knew that YouTube was a good way to get my stuff out there. And so adjacent to doing YouTube, I would also do odd jobs. One of those jobs was me as a mascot. That is me, by the way. Here, I'll prove it. And so a lot of people around me said, prince, what are you making videos? This is a pipe dream. My boss said it. Even people in my family said it. But I kept going. In my first videos, they got zero views. Zero views. For years, I experimented, trying new things with very little success. How many of you guys raise your hand if you've ever tried something, think you're going to get a certain outcome, and it just doesn't work out the way that you intended it to. Yes, everybody should have their hands on this. This is the human experience. But see, you keep going. They say even a broken clock is right twice a day. And boom. One video changed everything for me. I felt like I had cracked the code. Oprah reached out to me and invited me on her show. I got invited to speak in front of all of our world leaders, you know, the smartest people in our world. Sarcasm. So listen, please believe me, you are one video away from a new life, a new business, a new whatever you want. Because I'm that kid who came from that background, that origin story. This is a Creator who messaged me several years ago. His name is Josh Otusanya. Maybe you guys have seen his stuff. He said, prince, you motivated me to start YouTube and I'm only at 2,900 subscribers, but I love making videos. Thanks, bro. This is him today. Yeah, there's another creator, Fisk. He said, prince, I watched this video three years ago when I was so stressed out over my grades and future. And the video inspired me to start something I always love, games and editing. Today I'm potentially going to hit a million subs, which was the biggest dream of mine when I started the channel. Thank you, Prince, for making me realize life is too short to not follow your dreams. This is the power of content. I want to share with you a story of one of my students named Rainey. Rainey was struggling with her content and also a lot of imposter syndrome when I first started working with her. And she, we would get on calls and she was visibly sad that things weren't going well and she didn't think she was cut out for it. And so me and my team, we helped her, we worked with her and she followed the processes, the steps that I'm going to share with you guys today. And her videos went from getting 60 views to one video that just broke out, kind of broke the Internet. 2.4 million views. It got about 200,000 comments following the same principles that I'm going to share with you today. So I say all that to say, listen, it works. It works. So the first thing, let's get into it, let's get into some action. The first thing you must do to build an iconic personal brand in the age of AI is you gotta be a confident contrarian. You gotta be a confident contrarian. It is only the confident contrarian that makes history. There's never been a statue erected to a critic. I mean, you guys know Dan Kennedy. Dan Kennedy is a amazing marketer. Read his books. I was at a mastermind. He told me, prince, he said, look at what everyone else is doing in your field and do the opposite. That was interesting advice. Now, we're not ignoring best practices, but see the world class, the people who stand out. Those 2%, they're not just sticking with best practices. They're doing what the Dali Lama said, which is know the rules so you know how to break them effectively.
Again.
There are 200 million creators worldwide. If you want to stand out, you got to understand the neuroscience, right? We're going to talk about the subconscious here today. You got to understand how the brain works. We do judge a book by its cover. So your appearance matters. You got to look different, sound different, your energy has to be different on camera. This is how you stand out right now. Does this mean you have to go and create a whole character? Some people have done it, some people have worn masks and been very successful. But I found in my final analysis that the way to stand out is to lean in to who you really are, purely and authentically. So you can't just follow the crowd. You got to make a statement. What are you saying that's drastically different, even diametrically opposed to what everybody else is saying? What are they doing wrong? How can I create contrast to that? How can I be a contrarian? How can I separate myself from the crowd? This is very important. This is one of my favorite examples of a business that was a confident contrarian. See during Black Friday, where every company in the world was saying, Hey, 98% off. Buy, buy, buy. Half off. Buy our stuff. Patagonia came out and said, don't buy our stuff. It created an anti consumerism campaign that was about listening. Listen, don't buy stuff excessively. Buy what you need. They stuck to their principles. You know what happened to their sales? It went up by 40%. They stuck to their principles. They were confident contrarians. So the next thing you must do to build an iconic personal brand in the age of AI is you gotta deliver a. A bold message. It's got to be bold. You can't be passive. You got to speak from the heart. It's got to be with conviction and say, be bold and mighty forces will come to visit your aid. You need a bold message and it's got to be expressed in a bold way. It's all about delivery. So lean into the bold message. The algorithm rewards boldness. This is one of my favorite quotes. This is a quote that I have on the wall of my office. It's from Cabot Robert. He said people are persuaded more by the depth of your conviction and by the height of your logic, more by your own enthusiasm than any proof can offer. Please take a picture of that. Enthusiasm might be my favorite word in the English language. If you break the word down enthusiasm, it breaks down into Latin entheos, meaning within spirit. When you are enthusiastic, you are in your spirit. So what can you speak about in a spirited way? Because people are persuaded more by the depth of your conviction than by the height of your logic. The last four letters of that word are interesting too. I asm, I believe they stand for I am sold myself. See if you want to be convincing, you yourself must be convinced. What do they have in common?
Huge.
They all have very bold takes. They aren't afraid to pick a side because, see, they know, yeah, they're going to turn some people off, but they're going to turn the right people on. And they all have points of tension. No matter what you think about either of them, you can't deny that they're all leaders in their space. And that's the reason why they don't just communicate, they connect. They stimulate an emotion. It's not just information and ideas, it's energy. Fortune favors the bold. If you are passive, you will get passed by. If you are casual, you, my friend, will end up a casualty. Now the next thing you must do to build an iconic personal brand in the age of AI is stop being original. What? Prince, what? I thought your whole spiel was about being original.
What do you mean?
Nah, nah, you missed it. Don't be original, be authentic. Legendary film producer Jim Jarmusch says this. He says nothing is original. Steal from anywhere that resonates with inspiration or fuels your imagination. Devour old films, new films, music, books, paintings, photographs, poems, dreams, random conversations, architecture, bridges, street signs, trees, clouds, bodies of water, light and shadows. Select only the things to steal from and speak directly to your soul. If you do this, your work and theft will be authentic. Authenticity is invaluable. Originality is non existent. And don't bother concealing your thievery. Celebrate it if you feel like it. In any case, always remember what Jean Luc Goddard said. It's not where you take things from where you take them to. I want to tell you a secret. This is a secret. This is a big secret. It's a trade secret. See, the biggest creators on planet earth, they don't create. What they do is this. They investigate, they validate and they iterate. They investigate, they validate and they iterate. See the 2%. They don't waste time being original. They reverse engineer and model success. When Michael Jordan, by the way, rest in peace, Kobe Bryant. But when Michael Jordan was asked, can you beat LeBron James one on one? He said, of course. In your prime, of course. Said, can you beat Dwayne Wade?
Of course.
In my prime, of course. Could you beat Kobe? Said, nah, he steals all my moves. Isaac Newton said this. He said, if I've seen further, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants. He didn't say standing on your tippy toes. He said, if I have seen further, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants. Tony Robbins Said this. He says, success leaves clues. Figure out what someone who was successful did it, model it, improve it, learn their steps for they have knowledge. So when it comes to content creation, it's not about original ideas. Nothing is original. It's about proven ideas. But it is about ideas. So the next thing you must do to build an iconic personal brand in the age of AI is obsess over ideas.
The idea does make the difference between, like, we'll take. How many views are you getting on video?
Me?
It's not high, right?
Like, maybe 2.
2 million. So, like, if you're averaging 2 million views a video, you could get a video that gets 10 million views if you just had the right idea. So it's like, it's very crucial for most people. They could spend a hundred days uploading videos every day, get 10,000 views a video, or they could just sit down, come up with a good video, and just get a million views in a week. Like, that's like the mindset. Yeah. So when you realize that, you realize, like, you should put a lot of freaking time into.
You should be. You hear what he said at the end? You should put a lot of freaking time the ideas. You guys remember that meme, or am I showing my age? Because this. Okay, some of you guys get it. Good. I'm not too old. Listen, you don't have time to waste. No, I know I don't. I don't want to put out videos and see what works and see what sticks. You can do that. You experiment. But better to position yourself for the highest probability of success, and that's by using ideas that have been proven. Now, how do you hunt for ideas, you may ask? Well, there's a lot of different tools out there. There's one from Mr. Beast called View Stats, which I use. You might want to write that down. View Stats. But another way, the cheap way, is just to use YouTube. So, for instance, if I was a dentist and I was looking to, you know, find people who are looking for my services, that is teeth whitening through content, here's what I would do. I would go to the second largest search engine in the world, which is YouTube, and I would type in dentist how to. And I would see what populates. And I would then see, okay, this is what people are looking for. All right? So then I would rank that by view count. I would see, okay, what are the most popular videos? And then I would get the most popular videos, videos that have proven track records. And then I would iterate, investigate, validate, iterate.
Boom.
So I'm sure a lot of you guys already know this. Many people on this stage have talked about this. But videos on channels with lower subscribers, but a lot of views are called outliers. This is definitely what you want to look for. This is like finding gold. So, for instance, a video with a million views on a channel with a thousand subscribers, it's like, okay, this is a great idea that maybe I can iterate in my own way. It's been proven. So you don't need to come up with ideas just out of your head. You don't need to wait to have a eureka moment. YouTube literally tells you what to do. Put your spin on it later. Don't copy, paste, copy, iterate. And this is the process that everybody from Mr. Beast to Alex Hormozy does. Okay? Now, the next thing you must do to build an iconic personal brand in the age of AI is you gotta maintain relevance. You gotta maintain relevance. This is very important. See the 2%, they maintain their relevance by creating content that is timely. See, this is Mr. Beast. When you study him, you see that his most popular video was not a video that he just. He had an idea and he created. No, he took an idea that was popular in the world, which was the show Squid Games, and he made his own. He made his own version, and that video became his highest viewed video on his channel. So the most consistently successful technique for virality is to find out what's on on top of mind. What are people talking about? Timing is the biggest variable in going viral. It can literally allow mice to roar like lions. What do I mean by that? I mean, it can allow a small channel to have the same reach and impact as a big channel if you time it right. So this is the Venn diagram, right? You take, okay, what's happening now? What does my current audience love? And how can I merge the two? Right? So what did Mr. Beast do? He said, okay, what's happening now? All right, Squid Games is popping off everywhere. Everybody's talking about it. What does my current audience love? Okay, they love entertainment, they love contests. So I'll make my own Squid Games. And that became his most popular video. You go viral quicker than anything else because you're giving your audience what it wants and you're giving the algorithm what it wants. But here's the thing, guys. Here's the thing. That's a big and it's a big but. The idea is nothing. I know I said the idea was everything, but listen, you gotta be comfortable with paradox. The idea is nothing without this Next thing, and without it, your greatest idea will become the best video that nobody ever saw. And before I tell you what it is, I'll tell you this. There's a war going on. And you know, I'm not talking about Venezuela, I'm not talking about Ukraine or Russia. I'm talking about a war that everybody in here is on the battlefield and you're either a soldier or a casualty. It's a war for your attention. And you see the 2% are five star generals of attention. Everybody, you got to understand, everybody is out for your attention. Some have nefarious reasons, some have good reasons, but everybody wants your attention. And the 2% are masters at capturing your attention. See, the most valuable currency is not the dollar, the euro or the pound or the Kuwaiti dinar. The most valuable currency is your attention. I mean, they call it the attention economy. Somebody math how much your attention is actually worth. Your attention is worth $816 a day, 290,000 a year. And in 10 years, that's $2.5 million. I mean, those returns are better than bitcoin. Your attention is powerful. But here's the thing, when it comes to attention, the mistake that most creators make. And I hate when creators do this. And I used to do this. Imagine you go to a restaurant, right? A five star restaurant, Michelin, amazing. Everybody's dressed up nicely. You know the attire. You got, the waiter, they've got a violin. You sit down at your seat, the waiter, he pushes your chair in. You've got candles at your table, he brings you the menu. The menu's gold plated. You make your order, he goes back to the kitchen and they bring it out, and they bring it out on a 2 cent paper plate. Would you enjoy the meal at that point or would you be confused? Like, man, this doesn't match. See, the packaging and the product don't match. And that's what most content creators do. They put so much effort into the product, very little into the packaging. See, if packaging is 50% of the success of a video and the video itself is 50%, then why on earth do we spend 10% on packaging and 90% on the video itself? See the pros, the 2%, they don't even do the video until they have the title, the thumbnail, already done. The packaging is done before they even shoot. Because that's how important the packaging is. Here's the thing, it's not about who makes the best video. It's about who can create the best title and thumbnail and sandwich the video.
Into that.
Title and thumbnail. That's all packaging is. And what's the purpose of packaging? One purpose and one purpose only. To stop the scroll. Why do you want to stop the scroll? Because 75% of all of your views will come from recommendations. Now you stop the scroll with one emotion. I've studied, I've looked, I've tried to figure out, okay, what's the actual emotion? And the umbrella emotion that you really want to evoke in your packaging is curiosity. The curiosity comes in many forms. It comes in desire, fear, intrigue, conflict, all. But ultimately it's all about curiosity. Don't just make them click. You have to make it so they can't not click and make it so simple that a 7 year old would understand it at a glance. Somebody tell me why do I say 7 year old and not a 17 year old? Why 7? Anybody? Attention span. Okay. Pretty much. Okay. Okay.
Yeah.
Spot on. So. Absolutely. And did you know that your subconscious mind runs 98% of your life and the subconscious mind is frozen at the age of seven? So when you're making decisions on what to click and what to. Don't create stuff at the college professor level. You have to really simplify it to that 7 year old in all of us. Now, always caution, people don't do clickbait. I'm sure none of you guys do this. That will ruin your satisfaction score. Your satisfaction score is very important, probably the most important metric when it comes to YouTube and whether they push your content out there. It's essentially how satisfied the viewer is after watching your video. And if you trick them, if you clickbait them, they won't be very satisfied. Let's talk about color. A study done called the impact of color on Marketing, published in Management Decisions, said the color alone contributes to 90% of the judgment about people or products. That's huge. That's huge. How many of you guys watch this channel? Diary of a CEO. All right, let's study this together. Let's look at the thumbnails together. Just to just take a glance. Take it all in. What do you see here? Highlight certain words. Yeah, certain words. That's interesting. Emotional words. Right. Nuclear. Lying. Worse. Controlled. Yeah. Danger.
Stop.
Red means stop. That too.
Yep, yep.
So take a photo of this. You know. You got it. We've got to use color very intelligently because it matters. Right. Again, we're speaking to that seven year old. Does this. This appeals to the seven year old. Right. And I know what some of you guys are thinking because I've thought the Same thing is like, you know, you get into this social media space and this is a little bit manipulative, you know, it's a little bit of fear. So we can have that discussion after the session about the philosophy and the ethical responsibility for creators. But again, remember what the Dalai Lama said, learn the rules so you know how to break them effectively. Blue is another great color. Blue signifies power, right? My biggest, one of my biggest videos, dear future generations, which was just huge. It's the biggest video on the Internet on the topic of the environment, did crazy numbers. Other creators have leaned into using blue. Blue is a color that just, I don't know, for some reason it really just gets the clicks. And here are a few formats. You might want to take a picture of this to use. They have worked for so long and they still work. So you've got the face with the text, the transformation, the before and after. And then you've got the word art, right? I'm sure you've seen the word art. You might have seen a circle, you know, looks like it's done in Microsoft paint. Appeals to that 7 year old, right? It's very interesting. Here's another format that I like, the tweet thumbnail. This is the transformation thumbnail. All of these thumbnails are proven time and time again to just work and converse. So how many of you guys ever read this book or heard of this book? Yeah, Napoleon Hill. Oh my God. If you haven't read this book or heard of him, he's amazing. He was. He's like the og But I'm gonna tell you a quick story. So think and grow rich. This was not the first title of the book. So Napoleon Hill, he was like, he was struggling. He had like 500 titles and he couldn't pick one. And his publisher was frustrated. He's like Napoleon if you don't come up with a title. Listen, we've got to go to print tomorrow. If you don't come up with one, I'm just going to call it how to use your noodle to make a boodle. And Napoleon, he's like, oh, no, that'll destroy my whole career. I can't do that. So it's a true story. Napoleon, he went to bed that night. Before he went to sleep, he asked his subconscious mind, he says, sub. That was his nickname. He said sub. I need a million dollar title, please. I mean, listen, subconscious, you have been there for me. You have done things to me and done things for me. But tonight I need a million dollar title. When he woke up at 3am and he had the title. He picked up the phone, he called his publisher. His publisher was half sleep. He said, I got it, I got it. The publisher's like, you got what? I got the title. He's like, what is it? Think and grow Rich. It's like, by golly, you got it. That book ended up selling hundreds of millions of copies. Gandhi wanted that book distributed all across India. But it wouldn't have been successful if it didn't have the title. And so titles were important then and titles are important now. One Netflix study said this. You have 1.8 seconds to grab attention with the title. So how do you get your title to stand out? I call it the three Cs. Does it create curiosity? Does it create conflict? And does it create conversation? Take a photo of that. Here's a bonus tip I'm going to share with you guys. Numbers. You got to use numbers. An NP Digital study analyzed 75,000 articles and 850,000 social posts. Number based content in the titles did the best. What do you see here that's interesting, huh? Numbers. That's a little hack I wanted to give you guys. All right, so the next thing you must do is you gotta remember the seven hour rule. So if you're in a business, you have to understand that customers need at least 7 hours of interaction with your brand across 11 different touch points in at least 4 different locations in order to really buy from you. And so YouTube has something that you can do to make that happen. It's called long form video. And right now YouTube is really pushing out new creators who are creating long form content. It's amazing. New creators that are putting out videos 10 minutes an hour are really seeing a massive push in their video views. Watch time is very important. So what is long form? Long form is content longer than 10 minutes. Podcasts, tutorials, gaming, documentaries. Long form improves SEO and ranking on YouTube. It increases your authority in your niche and ability. You have the ability to take snippets and repurpose into shorts and reels. Let me tell you a little bit about storytelling. You gotta learn it. I'm teaching storytelling in Mindvalley, so definitely tune into that because it is a powerful skill. It's a skill that's older than written language. If you tell stories, you're going to dominate whatever you do. Storytellers in all cultures were highly admired. They said the closest distance between two points is not a straight line, it's a story. And so you tell better stories than your competitors. You're going to Win. But see, the normal storytelling structure, they just don't get it, right, Right? They say beginning, middle, and end, but that doesn't work today. The true storytelling structure that you should have when you're creating content is a hook, the body and the payoff. Let's talk about the hook real quick. So the hook is like that first piece of chocolate cake. When you bite into it, right, you're like, oh, my God, I love this. I want more of this. So you start the video with a shocking question, a shocking statement, or shocking story. Here are a couple hooks that have worked for me in the past and have generated billions of views. When given the choice between being blind or being deaf, do you know what most people choose? Take a guess. Albert Einstein once said, everybody's a genius, but if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid. Did you know the average person spends four years of his life looking down at his cell phone? Kind of ironic, ain't it, how these touch screens can make us lose touch. Do you know what day of the week you are most likely to die from a heart attack? It's Monday. By the way, I am not black. Okay, so shocking question, shocking story, shocking statements. You got a shock. Let's talk about the body. You got to leave breadcrumbs to maintain a viewer's attention when you're creating a story. You got to have them say, okay, how will this end? And I want to end with the payoff. Don't give the payoff too soon. This is one of my mistakes, which I'm going to show you real quick. I'm running out of time. But listen, if you get people to watch to the end, it's called your completion rate. That's what you want. That signals to the algorithm, this is a great video. So give the payoff at the end and use props. Use props, Use props. I'm leaning in a lot of props this year. I'm gonna skip this video cuz kicking me off in a minute. I'm gonna show you this mistake that I made. So I released this video, and it was dead in the water. This is like my private YouTube studio. It was dead in the water for the first almost 200 days. And then I did something. Did a video. I was like. Because I was like, man, this video, Prince. This video is a good video. Why isn't it blowing up like I think it should? So I went in the YouTube editor, and I cut the end off the video, and the end was Just like, okay, guys, thanks for watching. Peace. Cut that off. And then that video blew up like 50 million views. It was insane. Completion rate. It really signals the algorithm. So you might have a good video, but there might be small tweaks that you need to change. Alright, so I know you're feeling like this. Let me, let me wrap up. I know. Caitlin. I want to tell you guys the final and most important thing about being a creator. And that's you gotta love. I can't get off stage until I. Until I tell you guys this story. Because at the Washington Special Olympics, this is a true story. Nine contestants, all physically or mentally disabled, they lined up at the starting block for the 100 yard dash. the sound of the gun bang, they were off. Right. Not exactly in a dash, but with the spirit to run the race and finish and win. Except one young boy who tripped out the starting block and fell over and rolled over and started to cry. The other eight, they heard the boy's cries, turned back and went back. All eight of them. One little girl with down syndrome gave him a kiss on the forehead and said, this will make it better. And then all nine of them held hands across the finish line together. The audience stood up and cheered for 10 minutes. The people who were there are still telling the story because they know one thing that we all know, that winning means nothing unless you get there together. See, we talk a lot about AI and we don't talk enough about ni. Natural intelligence. The highest form of natural intelligence is love. Love is the most powerful force on this planet. It's the only thing that defies mathematics because it's the only thing in the universe that multiplies when it's divided. This is my friend Ross. You remember the video I showed when I first got out here? Everybody dies, but not everybody lives. He was the producer engineer on that project. And last year, Ross passed away. His favorite line was, there's no such thing as a smooth mountain. And so I always show Ross. To show just how precious our time on this planet is. Your voice is not only welcomed, it is necessary, guys. And the time is now. Thank you guys. Appreciate you.
His comments with this. He is one of the only speakers that can literally make you cry in the beginning and the end. And what I love about him is that his success on social media is what he said. It's about sharing its heart, his heart. It's about finding what works, but then putting your own spin on it. It's about grabbing people and capturing them. But of course, ending in love, just like he shared and what a beautiful, beautiful talk and so much information on there. I love this.
Wow, wow, wow.
I'm looking at the chats in here. Thank you friends. Truly incredible. And so we, we've got two more left. Thank you guys so much for sticking with us today. And I, as you can see, we've had some unbelievable speakers so far. We are going to invite Vishen to come back for another talk, but don't go anywhere because after him is an incredible fireside chat with Vishen and Marie Forleo. And it is, you're gonna love it. This is one of our best sessions and something I just wanna remind you guys of is that, you know, I was talking with the team and they were telling me a statistic I wanna share with you and that's at 94% of people fail at this. Why? Because they try to do it and they get overwhelmed and they give up. And that's why this is so important that we have events like this, that we do this for free, to give this away to everybody so that you, so that you have guidance, so that you have support, so that you have encouragement, you have people reminding you how important your voice is and how important your message is to get out into the world. So to bring this all together so far we're going to write Vishen back, but then after him another talk. So stick with us, but we'll keep this going with vision.
Sam. Okay, so as I speak, I'm going to address two groups of people. There are approximately 300 people here in the Museum of the Future stage in Dubai. And then for those of you who are joining in from Zoom, welcome, welcome. We have about 120 something countries on our Zoom line. We're averaging about 15,000 live participants on Zoom every single day. And so we're really excited about that. So as I'm speaking, I'm also going to be addressing the participants in Zoom. Now one of the things that we do just before we wrap up our summits is we always present our five month degree program. For those of you who are here, what I'm going to be talking about for the next 45 minutes is the Mindvalley Social Media Micro degree. This is the five month degree program where we work with all of the speakers who are on the mindvalley stage. We work directly with people and we teach you how to become a superstar on social media. Social media is the new marketing and so this is not just about visibility. This is really about growing a business. This whole program is about scaling businesses, scaling revenue Making money, getting your product or service out. If you feel this is not right for you, if this is not for you, you're free to exit right now. Okay, so I'm going to be talking to the people who are here who are interested in the program. I'm going to break it down for you. I'm going to show you everything we're covering, how the program works, the AI tools that are built into it, all the teachers who are involved, and I'll also be speaking to all of you on the Zoom line. So firstly, if you're here right now, then I know that you. I'm talking to the right people. So I want to give you a quick idea of the people who signed up for this event. There were five groups of people, and what I'd love for you to do, those of you who are on Zoom, is to put a number representing who you are. So roughly 26% of you are solo entrepreneurs. You're a business of one. 17% of you are employees who are deeply interested in social media. And then 13% are business owners. That means you have employees. 4%. Sorry, number four. 12% are coaches and consultants. And another 12% are freelancers and creators. Put a number in the Zoom so I can check it out so I can see what number represents you. Amazing. So when we polled you guys to understand what were your biggest struggles, I want to share what we heard. 25% of you. So this was the number one problem, low reach. And I know that can sting, especially when you put so much effort into a video or promotion. Another 23% said you simply don't know what to post. I get that. I have days where I don't know what to post as well. There are ways and systems where you can conquer disbelief. 14% of you said you are overwhelmed by the platforms. Again, very understandable. The algorithm is constantly changing. And not only is the algorithm constantly changing, but the tools available to you as a creator. The AI tools seem to be getting different, better, more sophisticated every week. How on earth does someone keep track of all of this stuff? Especially if you're a solopreneur with your regular business to run, how do you keep track of all of the changes, the new practices, and create content and run your regular business? So if you just look at the first three, how many of you here in the room can resonate with any of the first three? Just raise your hand so I get a quick pulse. Okay. So know that you're not alone. These are the biggest three issues that people are having. But we can go further. Okay. There is 12%. Roughly one in nine said I cannot go from social media to revenue. We're going to show you how to get there. As I shared some of my numbers, if I send an email, even if the email is not directly talking about sales, I know on average the email will generate 54,000. Our best emails can generate 800 to 900,000 in revenue. Once you learn the model, it becomes repeatable. I know it's repeatable because I've been using some of these techniques for 22 years. When I started out, I did not have an 18 year old son. Now I have an 18 year old son. Life has changed so much. Same ideas have been consistent. 10% of you said too much time, no return. If you are working on social media and it's taking too much time and not giving you enough return, it's not that social media is broken, Your process is broken. I just came off the main stage here at Billion Followers Summit where I spoke about what we can learn from F1 teams. There are processes you can learn that radically bring down your time. Did you know that a pit stop in 1950 for an F1 team, when the car would pull over to get the tires changed, the pit stop average time in 1950 was 67 seconds. Right now it's two seconds. How did F1 teams go from 67 seconds to two seconds? It's not just about the process. It's about what can you eliminate from the process. And I spoke about how I got my process down to 17 minutes. That means I developed a process where if I get a WhatsApp message from my team. Hey, Vishen, here's a script. Three minute script. We need you to record. I can go from nothing to the actual video on cap cut, edited, cleaned up, lighting, everything done by myself, no assistance. Back to my team in Dropbox in 17 minutes flat. Once you have a process, you have power and you have infinite time. You do not have to ever be concerned about time again. So you can go back and do your regular thing, your regular business. My regular business employs 237 people. I'm busy. But 17 minutes is what it takes right now on a daily basis to create a singular piece of content. Sometimes the content gets 50,000 views, sometimes it gets 2 million views. That part can be a little bit more unpredictable. But what I know is this, when you have the regular process, your learning cycle is faster. I used to get $1 million view video in one year. Now I get that in maybe two weeks. Because predictable process so time no longer becomes an issue. Now let's go further. Okay, inconsistent growth again. When you get the process down to 17 minutes, it's no longer inconsistent. Algorithmic change. How do we solve this? When you're part of a group of 800 students and everyone in the group is sharing wisdom and you have world class teachers, for example, like Dominic, who are experts in the algorithmic models, you understand what changes to pay attention to and what you can just ignore. Then of course, there's running out of ideas. This is a really interesting thing. There is a framework where you can take any speech, any insight, and you can break it down into what I call atoms. So there's a framework that I teach in social media mastery where I take a random talk, it can even be a conversation with my son. I stick it into an AI and the AI looks for what I call analogies, core ideas, quotes, stories, objections. These are called atomic bits of a of a speech. And then these atomic bits are mapped to each other. You feed it into an AI and you say, I need a post for teachers day focused on resilience. And the AI knows exactly what to extract. So this is a model that I now use and it means that I have infinite ideas. I can come up with a hundred ideas right now, any topic, any genre, in about 60 minutes. It's an AI retrieval system, but it starts with atomizing your brain. So every single objection has an answer. And I share this with you because so many people here who are creators, especially those of you who are founders, hate this. You're fed up. It's too time consuming. There's a solution to everything. As Marie Foglio says, everything is figureoutable. So what I want you to ask yourself first is this. Of the three days that you've been here, witnessing the stage share in the chat, what is your biggest breakthrough? I ask you to do that because from your biggest breakthrough, there's probably going to be a lot of insights that you will remind other people of AEO I had. So one person said, I had no idea about this concept of aeo. Another person said, agents, AI assistance. No idea about that. I learned, says this person to Simon, that trust is more important than sales. I learned said K the importance of the founder website RC said, I love learning about the concept of viral videos. And the chat is going and going and going. Thank you guys. So what you just learned was quite powerful. And these are some of the things that we also got from you in our feedback yesterday. These are some of the people who shared insights and some of the key things that they said I wanted to learn to resettle my nervous system. Isil said, personal branding is more important than going viral for the sake of going viral. Your lifestyle diva said, negative hooks work. Adrian and LV said, this is in response to one of yesterday's presentation gold. Best presentation yet. Sam said, format like Mission Impossible. Same character, different story, repeatable. Okay. So I hope you guys appreciate your learnings. Now I want to share with you why these learnings are important. Social media, just like engineering or math, has formulas. We know these formulas. These formulas are teachable. They are repeatable. So way back in around 2018, 2019, I hired Brendan Cain to come in as a consultant. I just started getting in social media. At that point, Instagram was my platform of choice. But it was very random and I hated it. And the randomness makes you hate it most because sometimes you just feel so ignored. It's not the platform, it's your ego. And so I wanted to understand why some people were getting viral hits and I was not. I hired Brendan Cain. And how Brendan Cain's company worked back then is that you hire him, him and his team sit down with your team for about an hour and a half a week. That was it. And they analyze what you're doing and they help you improve it. Okay, so that was really interesting. Now we were paying $3,000 an hour for Brendan's team. That sounds wild, doesn't it? By the way, if we add that up, what we attempted to deliver to you over here is about $50,000 worth of knowledge. But I want to show you what happened with that knowledge. Within a few months of working with Brendan's team, I hit my first hundred million view with video. Have you guys ever seen grocery store videos? Mine was the first one that took off 100 million views. Front page of 9, gag, front page of Reddit, twice made newspaper articles around the world. It was an expose of how companies like Ferreira, Rocher and Nestle lie on their grocery store packaging. So it was an activism video. The goal wasn't to sell anything. I just wanted to raise awareness of junk marketing. But it got a hundred million views. But here's the thing. The video was created and scripted in 15 minutes. It was shot in another 15 minutes because I knew the formula. And now it's not uncommon for me to get 100 million view videos because I get the formula. And if you ever watch this video, you can. You can find it on YouTube. It's three and a half million views. But where it got a hundred million was People started sharing it in WhatsApp groups in Malaysia and India, in family WhatsApp groups. That's where the video spread. Every single thing in that video was a formula that I learned, a repeatable tactic from Brendan Cain. Key idea here is this. You can learn the formula. You don't have to be awkward about it. It's not about how you look, it's not about your accent. You can learn the formula. So this is how Brendan Cain, okay, was able to help me with that. So, firstly, he understands the system, and his philosophy is, don't wing things. Apply predictable science. So when we created Social Media Mastery, we brought in Brendan Cain as one of our chief instructors. And when we started applying his predictable science to our students, they started winning as well. For example, Martin Gaspar. Okay, you can see the results came fast. He said, I tested three formats, posted 14 pieces. This is how you learn formats, posting frequency. So you have three different formats or four different formats. You learn the formats, you test out different hooks, say, and then you see what happens. Now look at the difference. Post 14. 3.7 million views and still growing. But once Martin finds out that format, he can repeat it over and over and over and over again. This is how many creators win one format repeated. So how is it that this is done? Now, here's the uncomfortable truth. Most people are random. How many months have you been posting without seeing real results? I bet you you're random. Two months, six months? Some of you probably posting for years, you're random now. What is that costing you? Because social media is the new marketing. So you're effectively halting the growth of your business. It's costing you clients, it's costing you revenue. For many of you, it's costing you impact. The world needs your voice, and you're not doing it. There are clients you're not getting, there's revenue you're not earning. There's impact you're not making because you are invisible. And you are invisible because you're winging it. You're being a freaking amateur rather than training like a professional. Why are you even bothering? If you're going to wing it, don't bother. It's a. It's a waste of your time. But if you want to be a professional, learn the technique. So how much is staying invisible X ray actually costing you? I want to share with you some stuff, right? So this is stuff that we found. I shared it with other marketers. They found the same thing. If you're running ads for your business and you're also posting in Social media. The post doesn't have to even have to relate to your product. Your ad cost plummets. We're seeing it. Ad cost goes down by about 30% when I'm on social media sharing free advice. So this is how I was able to get 125,000 people to enroll to watch this stage. Because we're not just running ads, but I'm just, you know, visible. When people see you and they recognize your face, what happens is your ad responsiveness goes up. You're not just a random person on the Internet. So one of the things you'll see is how many of you here are running ads? Raise your hand and put a yes in the chat. Okay. If you're running ads and you're going, you know, why is meta raising the price? Why is YouTube constantly raising the price? If you're visible, the price drops. Now another thing that I found, so I invented the masterclass in 2008. Now, a lot of people use that word. I created the first masterclass. It was for an educational product in 2008. Since then, I've sold close to half a billion dollars worth of educational products through masterclasses. I pioneered that entire model. This is what I found when I'm driving traffic to a masterclass, again, through advertising. If I'm active on social media, more people sign up for the masterclass by a vast number. 20 to 30% more signups and higher sign up rates. Again, it's trust. So the more active you are, it's not about the people. Forget this. Founders forget that they think it's the. Like, they think it's the heart. It's not, it's the trust. People don't have to even click your video, but if they are seeing your video, something is happening in the customer's brain and they are more likely to buy what you have and sign up for your masterclass. Now, this is the craziest thing. I'm speaking to a lot of expert marketers and they're all saying that in the 1990s, it was believed that a customer has to see you seven times before they buy your product. So that's how advertising ran. You would run ads on TV, on billboards seven times. Now it's not seven times, it's 20 to 30 times. 20 to 30 times. Every social media post, even if you're not pitching your product counts for one of those times. Every time a customer shares your video counts for one of those times. So I'll give you an example. I measure, I do marketing through email, okay? Email. You may think completely unrelated to social media, but this past year, I decided to do something out of passion. I decided to write political post in my email. I was really shocked by a video I saw of what was happening in Gaza. So I started writing about Gaza. Nothing to do with my product. Now, I, I did this because I wanted to raise awareness on social media. I created a gentle appeal to President Trump to pay more attention to what was happening and about. You know, half a million people watched that video. So I did this. It was activism. It had nothing to do with my product. But what was really interesting is that revenue from email, okay, this is a core metric. Revenue from email went up 54%. That is huge. The only way I can explain it is this. Visibility counts. It doesn't have to be you about your product. It could be you about the environment. It could be you about something you stand for. It could be you with your kid. My most effective advertising this past year was a video I had my daughter film. And it was sloppy. It was real. She's like mucking around with it, like twisting the camera and showing her face. We ran that as an ad. It beat all the professional ads. Professional ads were filmed at the Dubai Dome. Beat all of those ads. Visibility counts. So I want you to understand this. If you're an entrepreneur, social media, every little post, even if it's you doing Lego bricks with your kid, it counts for one of these 20x. It is no longer optional unless you want yourself and your product to stay invisible. But here's one more thing. This is about to increase. So there's a backlash happening in the world today. And this backlash is towards anything that can be replicable by AI. Okay, so online courses, recorded content usage going down. We are seeing this on our app. Meditation with real human voices. Usage is exploding. Why? Because there's a resonance in that real human voice. What we are seeing in our own company, recorded content with a speaker facing a camera and speaking. People don't care about live content on Zoom. Explosion, 60% increase in purchases. Recorded content, 20% drop. Why? Because recorded content, any of you can create an AI clone using a tool like Delphi and just make that clone speak like you. And so the world doesn't trust it. But if you're live on Zoom and you're interacting in the comments as I am right now, and by the way, people on Zoom, this is really me. If you're live on zoom, trust goes up. This year we saw something really crazy. I used to not like doing events because events are really Expensive. I prefer to teach via record recordings. This year, event sales exploded 500%. This past year, 2025, 500%. We opened up our event Mindvalley University in three days. The event is one year away. In three days, 55% of tickets were snapped up one year ahead events. So anything that is real people are paying attention to. Now here's the wild thing. Anything that is human is getting attention. Anything that is not human is falling in attention and falling in trust. Companies are falling in trust. And the reason is because the cost of starting a company is no longer five years to 10 years. You can start a company in one month right now with new AI coding tools like Claude tool, Claude code. I'm sure you've heard of things like Vibe coding. We've gone beyond Vibe coding, by the way, by coding is now obsolete. Now you can build an actual functional AI product with no coding experience in about a week. Because of that, the cost of starting a business has become small. Now what's going to happen is there's going to be a influx of apps, influx of websites. But the thing that people are going to trust is the real human being. And so what I'm focused on right now is personal branding. And this is true for every founder. Don't worry about social media for your product or your company. People honestly don't give a damn. People want to follow the real human being. If you nail that, you can start a different app every month, a different service every month, because the cost has gone down by about 50x but you'll be able to direct traffic to it. This year I'm starting four new companies in addition to mindvalley. All of them are tech companies because the cost of tech has literally like vanished. But what I have to pay attention to is do I have trust? That's why I'm here, that's why on stage, that's why we've delivered 3 days of free content to the hundred thousand plus people who signed up. Trust is that commodity and you earn that trust by serving. Okay, so all of you need to understand this. This is the new advertising model that we're going into. So again, why does this matter? In the age of AI generated content, trust and real human beings, the real you is important. Consumers don't trust what they see, they trust what they feel. And founders are in a unique position to create feeling. This is why the video of me with my child beat conventional advertising. It evoked feeling. So this is not just about virality, it's about visibility. Visibility equals possibility. No visibility no possibility. It's that simple. Think about your own life, right? Great job offers, amazing people you met. None of that happens if you're invisible, if you're in the shadows. It's so important that you step into the light. And I know this can feel tough because some of you. So I want to read some of the things that I've heard you guys say. I'm just starting out. I have no following. Perfect. This program is designed for people like you. Because even if you're just starting out, randomness isn't going to serve you. Deliberate intent and process will. Number two, I'm introverted. How many of you guys think you're an introvert? Okay, if you're an introvert, I'm one too. Believe it or not, they are processes. To overcome that introversion and still be creation, creating. Because introversion cannot be an excuse for not making money, not being a visible entrepreneur or founder. Third, I've tried learning stuff, courses, systems. It didn't work. Well, maybe you just didn't pick the right learning. Or maybe at that particular point there was other things going on in your life. What if we can make the learning inevitable, deliberate, because of effective coaching. That's what Mindvalley specializes in. So let's look at this case study. Okay? Simina Z2. So what happened with her is that she went from afraid to being seen to 2.7 million views. And her first income from YouTube. So she's a student in our program. Last year she said, in my adult life, I carried the wound of visibility, the fear of being seen, of speaking my truth, of being rejected or criticized for my insecurities. Thanks to this program, I discovered the true courage is not the absence of fear, it is the choice to act despite it. So if you're an introvert, if you're just starting out, act. You see, your customers need you to act. Because today 87% of buying decisions are made due to social media. Your customer is studying your Instagram, they're studying your YouTube. And by the way, even if they are not, they are asking ChatGPT to advise them on great products. That's how people are shopping right now. And ChatGPT and Claude are studying these channels. So either way, your social media is important. Now, what you learned is powerful. But to really dominate in your niche, to become a founder with visibility, you need three things. Okay, you need a system, and I've emphasized the importance of the system. But you also need coaching because they will be BS in your brain that will prevent you from wanting to show up up and then you need accountability. All great people have an accountability coach. I, you know, at one point in my life, I teach manifesting. It's one of my best selling topics in my books. But I once paid $25,000 for a manifesting coach to work with me for three months. And the coach's only job was to ensure that I showed up for a call on Tuesday and Thursday to meditate with her and get clear on my goals. Because even me, I needed accountability. Because otherwise, as a father, as a, as an entrepreneur, life kind of sucks you away. So what we know is that if we're building a program, it's not just about the system. You need coaching mindset. So all our facilitators are trained in that and you need accountability. So we create student groups and accountability plans so that you actually get things done. This is what I'm going to show you now. I'm going to show you how this comes together in social media mastery. So firstly, did you enjoy the teachers? Amazing. So in the chat, I want you to put on your. Your favorite teacher. Now, our program is designed to bring the knowledge of all of these teachers together to build real authority and be in the top point 1% of people who can monetize their message. Think about what it means if you are in the top point one percent of your field. Top 1.1%. As a dentist, as a doctor, as an author, as a coach, as an entrepreneur, selling a widget, being in the top point 1%, by the way, life is exponential. When you're in the top point 1%, you are not like a hundred times more successful than the others. You are 10,000 times more successful. It is exponential. The top point 1% is a very, very, very powerful class to be in. This is designed to get you in that. Now, the reason most creators don't get there is most creators stay stuck under a thousand followers because they lack a real system. This is true for pretty much everything in life. Now, Brendan Cain wanted to prove one day that systems matter. So he set himself a task. He had to get a million followers on Facebook. And back then, Brendan wasn't a trained speaker. He wasn't. But he had a process. He pulled it off. And he became one of the first people to go from 0 to 1 million fans on a Facebook group. Brendan took that and he created his institute, Hook Point Institute. This is one of the core teachings in social media mastery. So what Brendan and his team does is they analyze all the creators who are crushing it, but they also analyze what is not Working. And as they analyze what is not working, there's a little glitch on my. As they analyze what is not working, they are able to. Isn't it funny when Macs do this in the middle of a presentation? Could someone come and help me with this one? Thank you, J.D. as they analyze what they are not doing, they also are able to. There you go. They're also able to see patterns. They're able to see what frameworks work, what frameworks don't work. Why is it that two people who start with the same video, let's say chopping apples or chopping onions. Why is it that two videos, similar ideas, one works, one doesn't work. And often it's something very subtle. It's a specific sound effect. It's the way the camera angle moves. They measure it. They teach the science. So they do this in social media mastery. So you learn to go really, really, really deep into each of these videos. There was a yoga teacher. I forgot what country she was in, who was in our program, and she wanted to blow up her yoga studio. What she learned from Brendan Cain's teaching is how to make her videos go viral. And she blew up her account with a very simple trick. You want to know what it was? She got five puppies, beautiful puppies. And she let the puppies run wild in the yoga studio. And so the videos of her yoga studio don't show people doing yoga poses. They show people, like, trying to, like, spread their legs and a little puppy running through them. Puppy yoga. It spread. She went from zero awareness on social media to tens of thousands of fans. Again, the format matters. All good, J.D. So when we bring up the screen, you'll see what I. What I want to show. But I'm reading out another case study. So this is from Lisa K. Atkinson. What Lisa found is that there was a 71% increase in her revenue in 2025 compared to 2026. All she did was this. Lisa took the lessons that she was learning in social media mastery, started applying it to her regular business. So you may be thinking, whoa, I'm already an entrepreneur. Now I got to do social media. Well, if your business is growing by 71%, what do you think? This is what Lisa said. 71% increase in revenue, 40% increase in revenue year to date over the same period in 2024. 23% growth in my customer contact database. What's next? With these foundations in place, I'm beginning social media. I'm beginning to tell stories of my clients, share styling ideas, and build A community and drive traffic to landing pages and quizzes. And I'm seeing a massive growth in my education company because of these quizzes. So let me just try to quickly fix this computer thing. Could we. We'll just unplug this. There you go. Click cancel. We're done. Put this back in. And now we can continue the slide presentation. Okay. Would you mind running the slides again? Jd, how do I run the slides? Yeah, I'll put it in. Okay, guys, we got this solved, so you should be able to see it now. Okay. You'll do it. Great. Okay. And we'll just move forward. Yes, we are good. Okay, so these are all of the formats that Brendan Cain and Hook Point Institute study. And all of this knowledge becomes available to you. This is Lisa, whom I was talking about. Now another person, Gavin Ng, he was a coach, Bangkok, Thailand, joined the program. First viral video reached over 1 million views in just two weeks. Okay, so it's not luck. It's a sophisticated system. And if this is any of you, this system is going to work. Because we have applied this to thousands of students, founders and solo entrepreneurs. Small business owners, CEOs. Yes. CEOs can be the best face for their business Executives, coaches, authors, employees who work in social media or marketing, and working professionals. Another interesting case study. This is from Dr. Jasmine Walbran, who's a psychologist in Switzerland. She said the course has been a game changer. I no longer just post for the sake of it. I'm helping my clients post with purpose and seeing real results. She, because of this course, also ended up gaining the courage to be visible on stage, to own that stage when she's called up. Patricia Munster, who's a business owner in Netherlands, said she applied the tools and saw incredible results. Articles now, articles on the web. Her article gained over 25,000 impressions. So founder marketing is really the key to business success in 2026 and beyond. As I said, because people want people. So now about this program. You don't have to say yes, you only have to say maybe. Because what we're going to do is firstly, give you a breakthrough guarantee where we guarantee results. And if you don't get results after like minimum participation, our team will personally work with you. So we're going to talk about that in a moment. That means we'll get on calls with you one on one, our team, so that we can help you win. Secondly, we'll even let you try out the program for the first four lessons completely free. And if there's even like a slight thing you don't like, like the quality of the Zoom audio. All the lessons are live. We'll give you a refund. Okay, so the program is five months. Why five months? Because we want to deliver what we promise. You cannot do that in one month. There are three parts to the program and each part takes about six to seven weeks to deliver. You learn directly from the teachers themselves. With Hook Point, Brendan brings in one of the top analysts from Hook Point. But you learn from these teachers, all of these teachers that you saw on this stage. And these are many of the teachers that directly run my company, Social media. Safwan helps me with YouTube. Sabrina runs my LinkedIn. Brendan is my key advisor. Prince EA teaches me storytelling. You are learning from my teacher. So I'm actually giving you access to the brains that I trusted to help me build 100 million in revenue company. Here's how it works. Your commitment is three hours a week. As you're going to see, relative to the impact, the price is negligible. But it's three hours a week for five months. But these three hours, odds are you're already applying them to social media, but you're just not doing it in a deliberate way. Odds are you are just already random. Now, there are two parts to these three hours. The first part is training. The second part is Q and A and workshop where we go deep with you and we help you implement. And in total it's five months, three hours a week with amazing teachers. Did you notice how engaging our teachers were on stage? Like, these were not boring academics. These guys knew how to play trigger emotion. They know how to make you stay up till late at night. Some of the people on our Zoom, it's 2 or 3am where they are and they are still here. People in the Zoom chat, how did you like the speaker? Spiora is saying, I love the whole weekend. So it's these people who we bring in. In total, it's 44 lessons. Many of you have experienced just a couple of hours. In total, it's 44 lessons. Each lesson is around 91 hour to 90 minutes and it takes place over 22 weeks. So I'm asking you to invest 22 weeks, three hours a week to go mega deep in mastering social media. Now, we give you guided actions. So what we mean is we teach you exactly how to do things using specific tools. We'll show you how to create a GPT, how to create your own AI intelligence, and as I shared earlier, how I boosted my email revenue by 54% in one year, it's not random. It now takes me only one hour to write a unique newsletter because I'm using a process for how to craft ideas, process to consolidate ideas, process using AI to turn that into a newsletter. And by the way, at the end of this presentation, I'm going to call up three volunteers and I'm going to actually work with you and teach you these processes. So we're going to do a live demo after I'm done. Now, most importantly is peer to peer learning. I'll go deeper on this in a moment, but we are going to put you connected to 800 additional students who are in the program so you guys can create a supportive global community. And this is going to be key. As you will see, the future of business is not large teams. It's small companies with founders deeply connected and supporting each other. More on this in a bit. So this is Social Media mastery. It's a five month program, two sessions per week for 22 weeks, 44 live sessions, a three hour a week commitment, but powered by the Mindvalley app which has been featured this past year in every Apple Store and our global community of incredible individuals, students just like you, like the people in this room who are there to support you. The program kicks off January 27th. So before the first half of 2026 is done, you would have nailed this. And this is the live call schedule. So the trainings are Tuesdays and Thursdays. It's at 9am LA time. Very reasonable. In the morning, roughly around 50% plus of our students tend to be American. So we optimize for US time. But even here in Dubai, it's at a manageable time. 9pm Dubai. After you've had dinner, you tune in for the most amazing lecture with implementation by one of our world class teachers. Now, because we bring in real teachers, people like Brendan Cain, like Dominic, like Marie Forleo, their time is so precious. We can only do this once a year. So if you don't sign up right now, it doesn't open up again for another week. One year. And let's talk about the speakers. So first you learn from Marie Folio, one of the original badasses in entrepreneurship. Since 2002, this woman has been building a legendary brand. When she opens up her products, she does $20 million launches. And you learn how to apply these to business, to social media. Prince ea. He teaches you the poetry of storytelling, how to captivate people and speak to their soul. And by the way, if you loved his speech, also know that he is an incredible teacher. I teach you how to leverage AI tools. I actually have a background in computer science from one of the top five science CS universities in the world. I teach you how to leverage AI tools to make it so easy that it can be a push of the button. You learn my 17 minute to content creation approach. Natalie Ellis, boss babe. Oh, she's going to show you how to generate real money, real revenue with your business, with your ideas. Brendan Cain comes in with his team to teach you formats. These are the formats that work for coaches. These are the formats that work if you're selling a physical product. These are the formats that work if you want to go viral. Chris do brings in personal branding. What do people think of you? How do you stand out? How do you speak your truth? What is your phrase, your key phrase? He's actually advising me on these right now. John Lee teaches monetization. This man is genius at going from visibility to money and who doesn't want that? And Dominic Ashburn. Dominic is an AI God. He's going to teach you how to create visual effects, amazing scripts, storytelling, all with AI tools that anyone can use. But then there are also specialty platforms. Sabrina Stalker is brilliant on LinkedIn and she shows you how to generate leads, traffic enterprise sales via LinkedIn. This is so important if you are selling to businesses. And Safwan, he's the brains behind so many great YouTube channels. From Daniel Priestley, he worked with, with, he runs my YouTube channel as well as well as many other like teachers who are prominent on YouTube. If you're an educator, his lessons are so valuable. All of these teachers show up live but we keep the recordings available for those of you who cannot make the live call or want to rewatch. So you get all the recordings available to you for the two years. You can of course download them. We also give you notes, we give you workbooks with the recordings. Now let's look at what the curriculum looks like. Okay, so it's five months and there are three transformational modules. So the curriculum goes through a flow, three different things you learn about. The first is the creator's blueprint. This is how to build your foundation, your tools, your storytelling, your personal brand. Once you get that and once we eliminate every single BS excuse in your head to showing up. And by the way, even if you have that right now, and almost all of us do, it's fixable, it's figureoutable. We then go to now you're creating content predictably, how do you go viral? What will cause your video to take off like crazy? And again, there's a formula for this. Third is the best spot for many of you. How many of you here like fat wallets? Raise your hand. Do you like a fat wallet? Do you like money? People put yes, there's nothing wrong with that. If you like money, you're gonna love part three because you're gonna learn the monetization philosophy. How do I make $54,000 per email? How does Marie Foglio do a $20 million launch? How does John Lee sell $10,000 products and services? You're going to learn how to go from visibility to bank account. So part one is the creator's blueprint. These are some of the things we cover. Unshakable confidence, video shooting technique, art of storytelling. We install in you a creator operating system so that it's no longer overwhelming, it's automatic and you can see some of the results. Okay, so Christopher in California went from nothing to 12,000 views on TikTok from just one class. Many of you start seeing remarkable results from just one class. I shared Gavin's story earlier. First viral video, 1 million views. Then we come to part two. This is somewhere towards the end of month two. It's Virality Accelerator. This is 11 weeks. Here you learn performance drivers, high impact content formats. You install AI systems to increase what is called content velocity. You learn how to take one long form content, turn it into smaller short form pieces. Okay. Self employed, Heidelberg, Germany. Within just a few weeks she said she saw measurable improvements increase her reach. Notice an increase in qualified views as she went through this program. Now part three, monetization. This is where the money comes in. This is where you learn YouTube playbooks to create channels that can do 10 million in revenue. You learn sales funnel, you learn unified multi platform ecosystems. You learn and you get a 90 day execution plan to put this into place. And here you can see a couple of case studies that have happened. Shasha Lavatai. She got her first UGC deal on the last day of the class. Erin, she's the yoga instructor. Look at those puppies. Went from 1,000 to 37,000 followers with one video that reached 8.4 million accounts. Katrin Veronica Kinsley. She after taking this class, her book hit a number one bestseller not just in the US but in Canada, the UK and Australia. So if you're a writer, I can tell you social media is what really matters right now if you want to get your book out. Ileana Collare, a teacher in Bologna, Italy, she doubled the enrollments for her course. If you are teaching something, whether it's coaching or Some online course or an event. What would it mean to you if you doubled enrollments? That's what's possible with the right leverage of the social media tools. So in five months you go from this posting without results, guessing what works, invisible no system to content that actually converts data backed virality systems. You know how to make it pop. You are known as the authority in your field, in your city, in your marketplace, and clients come to you. So before I talk about the investment for this program, I want you to just ask yourself, like, what would it mean to you if you could just crack the social media code if it was so easy, like any of the teachers out there, what would that look like to you? What would it mean to you if you never have to worry about what to post again? If you learned my formula, for example, where you can generate a hundred ideas in one day just from feeding your brain in a specific way into AI. What would it mean to you if clients were chasing you for opportunities for attention? When I land in Dubai right now, I get so many offers I cannot fit them into my schedule. I actually have to pace myself. Why? Because I'm visible. What would it mean if you as a coach had more clients than you could handle? What would it mean for your business, your reputation? What if social media became your biggest asset instead of your biggest headache? What if it was just so easy and because it's your biggest asset, you're no longer stuck on one business. You can launch a second business. I launched a supplement line. You can launch a third business. I'm launching an AI for longevity counsel counseling. Because you have a ready made audience. You are no longer an entrepreneur. You're a serial entrepreneur with multiple routes for passive income. So what I paid Brendan Cain, when I hired Brendan Cain to come into my team was approximately 12,000amonth. Okay, so he did four calls with us, 3,000 per call. It was 144,000 for 12 months. I showed you the results. Within a few months I got that video that got 100 million in views. So when I tell you the investment, you may probably think this is going to be quite expensive because remember, we're going for founders, we're going for CEOs. You might think it might be 12,000amonth, like what I paid Brendan. Because after all, it's not just one class a month, it's multiple teachers, two classes a month. So maybe you might think it's 10,000 because if you can grow your business by 30% in revenue, 10,000 for a reasonable sized business, that's Worth it. Because remember, the knowledge isn't just for one month. When you learn this, you don't just apply it in 2026, then in 2027, you forget it. It sticks with you. I've been applying some of these ideas since, for 22 years. So this is an investment, not just in 2026, it's an investment in your future. So that 10,000 that this could cost divided by the next 20 years that you might be staying in business, you're investing in your future. Or it could be 8,000, which is the average cost of a similar five month program. But because Mindvalley is so vast, we are able to bring in economies of scale and make the price a little bit more accessible because we know there are people here in India, in Thailand, in my home country, Malaysia, watching as well. So the investment for the entire program is 4999. You can go to mindvalley.com Social and you can sign up now. We have space for 800 students. And when we open this program, typically before the end of the year, we sell out. So 4999, you can also follow that QR code. Five months, 10 world class experts. What we want to do, guys, is take you through this incredible degree of hand holding to turn you into the social media superstar that you're meant to be like. Like Jonna, who in Social Media Mastery. Okay. She said, I just want to share how grateful I am to Vishen, to Andrew, Brendan, Luke. 19 million views already. So 125,000 people sign up for the summit. We limit the class to 800 now. Why 800? Because it's live teaching with community. It's not recorded. So the students are active on the chat, the students are active in the community. And if we go too big, the community on Zoom just doesn't really feel as cohesive. So we limit it to 800 people, but we also limit it to 800 people because we are guaranteeing results. And I'm going to talk about that in a moment. The guarantee is really interesting. If you go through this program and you don't get results, my team will personally get on a call with you and work with you so you get the results you deserve. So you. We're gonna take on that risk so you have nothing to lose. More on that in a moment. Okay? So here's where it gets really exciting. All right? The 4999 doesn't just get you Social Media mastery. We looked at all of the things that hold people back from really becoming world class. In their field really getting the attention they deserve. And we wanted to create a bonus stack to make this inevitable for you. Okay, so the first is this. Some of you taking this program might think, well, how could I easily make $5,000 to afford this program? Here's the thing. If you're a solopreneur and you do this program, you actually get a professional certificate and CPD credits. You get a certificate that you can put on social media, on LinkedIn, on social media showing your qualifications. You also get 120 continuing education credits. Many people take this program. They then go and make their 5k back by consulting to other companies. You can charge 500 an hour to a thousand an hour. Once you know this format, go help other people. So you're actually getting a certificate that lets you earn your money back. So many of you I know would already do this for your friends. Knowledge is power. Once you get this knowledge, we don't expect it to stay locked in your brain. So number one bonus is you get a CPD accreditation and professional certificate that's worth at least a thousand. But then we go further. Great learning happens when you're learning with great people. So we developed an app and a system where all our students can come together. So if you're in Dubai, you can find all the other students in Dubai. You can see who's a coach, who is maybe in industrial production, who is in enterprise sales, and you can create meetups with these students. I'm attending a meetup on January 28th in London with our students. The meetup is already sold out, but we have an app where our students meet up. And very frequently our teachers, including myself, show up because I love meeting our students live. So you get to meet other students. But not only that, our students requested this. So we added a new feature where let's say you are amazing at prompt engineering, but you just really don't know how to generate video. And there's someone else who's great at video. You guys can come together and help each other. So now you save money because the student group becomes this list of allies. Whatever knowledge you don't have, you can trade. So it's a no money exchange type platform and you can see examples over here. So this platform is launching in a couple of months. Someone can say, I'll help with logo design, I need SEO strategy. Another person says, I can help with Facebook and Instagram ad strategy. What I need is advanced copywriting. All of a sudden all the frickin limitations holding your business back cleared up because you have access to 800 committed students. Think about what that can do in your business. And I'm reading the chat, I'm seeing this is a no brainer. The amount is so generous. I want to subscribe today. Someone asked about the January 28 London event. Yeah, so I must, I'm as a teacher really committed to meeting my students. I, I have dinners with my students when I can. So every month. One of my resolutions this year is to go into the community and invite people for coffee. I do it intimately. The January 28th event is full because you know, the cafe can only hold 12 people. But I want to hear what people are thinking. So I want you to know we are teachers are not like some higher ups whom you, you never get to actually connect with. Alright, next bonus three. I got fed up of trying to figure out and remember all of the rules of Instagram or all of the rules of LinkedIn. So I built a AI tool that is fed with all of the best practices, understands all of this and you're going to get access to this AI tool. So I'll give you my personal AI tool. You can speak out an idea. It'll refine it into a reel. You can then say, give me the Instagram caption in best caption formats for this. It'll give it to you. You can then say, by the way, recut this for LinkedIn. It'll give it to you. You can then say, hey, ask me some other clarifying questions. And I want to create a long form 20 minute YouTube video. It will do that. You will get my AI. This AI saves me approximately seven hours a week of content creation. It is fed with pages and pages and pages of well researched best practices. It is not for the public, but this AI tool super valuable. It's worth at least, at least $4,000. We gift this to all our students. So now you're no longer alone. So the cost to get stuff out suddenly drops like crazy. Many people want to buy this AI tool on its own. But this becomes available to our students. So those are some incredible bonuses. Firstly, the community, the certificate. The certificate means you can just go and you know, figure out a way to make money with this. The community, you now have leverage. You are plugged into so many amazing talents. The AI tool eliminates time and does work for you. All of these bonus itself, as you can see, crazy valuable. But what we also want to do, so we have to pay for a massive amount of cost. Flying teachers here from all around the world. So we want to also be able to monetize our platform fast. So what we do is for those of you who are ready to sign up, like many of the people on the chat, ready to sign up if you enroll before 11:59pm tomorrow, LA time. 11:59pm Tomorrow, which will be, I guess, morning Tuesday. For those of you in Dubai, we're going to give you three additional bonuses. The first bonus is a personal tool I created to deal with my own bs. So even me, I have situations where I just don't want to post that day or I just feel something isn't right. Mercy Mercury is in retrograde. I go to the cafe and the barista forgot to put the little heart on my coffee and I'm seeing it as a bad omen. I have days like that too. So I created an AI coach based on coaching principles that talks me out of it. It's a coach that actually deals with your bs. You get access to my AI coach. She's really sweet, really pleasant. The only issue is you might fall in love with her because she is so, so, so amazing. I almost did. I had to remind myself that she's just an AI Second fast track bonus. You get recordings of this summit. So if you enjoyed this summit so far, you're going to get recordings, approximately 10 hours of recordings. Okay? This will be available for you on the Mindvalley platform. That's worth 400. And the final bonus is this last year we had another program which is really relevant for those of you in social media mastery. It's called Learning Mastery. And Learning Mastery teaches you how to learn faster and do things faster. For many entrepreneurs, it gives you back five to eight hours a day. For example, one of the things you learn in Learning Mastery, remember I showed you my AI, my AI coach. You learn how to build that yourself. How can you build AI intelligences? AI tools that can help you with anything you want. So you get access to Learning Mastery. Again, all of this is on the mindvalley platform. Learn Mastery teaches you to learn faster, teaches you brain training, brain health, cognitive practices as well as AI $3,000 program. You get this free. Okay? So if you sign up before tomorrow, you won't just get social media mastery, you will get Learning mastery. So these are all the bonuses worth 10,000 professional certificate, the access to the community. So now you have access to so many more brains that can help you. Our AI social media tool, the same tool I use, trained with the intelligences I plugged into it. Then you get the social media mindset coach to deal with your BS on days when you don't want to film, you get the summit recordings and you get learning mastery. The second set of bonuses is for those of you who sign up tomorrow before 11:59pm because that genuinely helps us. It helps us cover the cost flying the teachers down. It helps us get our class going. And we really appreciate you for that. Right? It's like booking a seat on an airline early. You get better rates. So the fast track bonuses, as a reminder, are available until tomorrow. Monday, 11:59pm, LA. That is approximately noon in Dubai and that's an additional $3,900 in bonuses. So someone said, wait, tomorrow is Sunday. No, tomorrow is Monday. Am I right? Have I been stuck in a bubble here at the Museum of the Future? What day is it today, guys? Today is Sunday. Okay? So you're stuck in a bubble. Tomorrow is Monday. It may be because we have people from all around the world. Okay? So the next thing is. This is a quick summary of everything you're getting for just 4,999. Okay? And we know people are in different parts of the world, different countries. So you also have a payment plan. It's 1499amonth easily. If you run a reasonably sized business, you can get 1,499 back a month in marketing value. Like the cost is not doing this and staying invisible. Or you can just save a thousand and get it for 4999 with all of the bonuses. If you're in the US you have access to Klarna. This might show up on our checkout for other countries. Depending on Klarna policies. This means you can just basically get a consumer loan through Klarna and buy this. Now, if you're a Mindvalley member, you also get $500 off. So if you have access to the app, you can buy it in the app. Another 500 is taken off, and this means you get it for 4499. And if you go to the website that I'm going to send you to, it will detect if you're a member, if you're logged in and the price will further go down. So for many of you who are members, it's just four, four nine nine. Okay, now want to share with you some amazing stories from previous students. Kuldeep Valley in Dubai said, help me grow my LinkedIn following from 2000. So he doubled his LinkedIn following 63,000 impressions, reached 16,000 members in just a few months. Patricia, My reach is now 2000% higher from last year. And journalists are now Calling me for interviews. This is really cool. Diane Pham in Laguna Beach. After less than one year, my financial and mental health improved. I ran into Mindwell from an ad that kept popping up on my Facebook. Yes, it was an ad from that guy with an accent. Vision. Thank you. Joanna Cohen, PhD. Okay, Denver US. My platform grew from 96 to 67,000 followers, reaching more than 90 million views and 31% engagement rate. That's crazy. 96 to 67,000. But this is what she said that really resonates with me. I came for the strategy, but what I found was a deeper sense of freedom to create, to connect, to lead with heart. Now, do you think Joanna Cohen's Instagram account is going to stop growing? Do you think she just stops at 96,000 after five months? No. She learns it. She has the skills, she can revisit the recording, she has the AI tools. It's going to continue growing for the second half of the year. Most of these testimonials came just after five months. All of them got even better results because once you get the knowledge, you repeat it in year two and year three and year four and the next 20 years, however long you want your career to last. So it isn't 5,000 for one year. It's 5,000 if you want to continue working for the next 20 years. It's 5,000 that's applied over the next 20. Think about that. Okay? So again, take that QR code to sign up. Now, I want to address one thing. Some of you are thinking, yeah, I know, but what if it works for other people, but it doesn't work for me? We got you, and I hear you, and that's a very, very reasonable question. So this is what we're going to do. We're going to guarantee that it works. Our breakthrough guarantee is this. Watch at least 70% of the lessons. You don't even have to watch all like two out of three. And the lessons are fun, by the way. Guys, you've seen the teacher. So we can monitor your watch rate. Watch 70% of the lessons do the homework. The homework is one hour a week. Because we need to know that you're applying this. And if it doesn't work for you at our cost, we will get in a one on one call with you, okay? We'll get our experts to come on a call with you and they will coach you and help you and figure out what's broken and make this work. We have to do three calls with you, one on one. We'll make that happen. But we will get it to work. It's very rare that we cannot get it to work after beyond three calls, but we will make it work for you so you know you are protected. By the way, just the calls itself are worth more than the cost of the program. Remember, I was paying Brendan Cain's Team 3000 per call. We're gonna give you a breakthrough guarantee. So I hope for those of you who are wondering, will this work? You know that we are so committed to making this work for you. Okay, now also some of you may be thinking, yeah, but you know what if I sign up and like, two weeks into the program, I decide I don't want to do it anymore or I need to go on a holiday or something comes up that's cool. Anytime in the first two weeks, one email, full unconditional refund. We want you to feel safe as you go into the program, as you access the zoom calls, listen to the quality of the sound, watch the quality of the teaching. I'm going to teach the first call itself because I so want to give you guys incredible value. Anytime in that first two weeks, four calls. If you feel it isn't right for you, full refund. Okay? And then as you finish the program, because of the breakthrough guarantee, if something didn't work, we will get on calls with you to make it work. Now let me address what some of you might be thinking. I can't afford it. And I hate to use the word, but I know sometimes money can be tight. But this is often a different excuse. It's not that you can't afford it. You can, because this is marketing money. And every business needs marketing. This is not like mindset coaching. Yeah, that's in there. It's not something hypothetical like teaching you how to say, sleep better. It's marketing. And marketing is the art of making money. So if you have to learn the proper way to make money with ease, with predictability, it becomes an investment. And your job is to simply figure out, like, is this an investment worth making? Do I want to be random about my marketing for the rest of my life, or do I actually want to invest in learning? I was able to scale my company, by the way, guys, to over 100 million in revenue with no VC funding. Because early on, I realized I could give up pieces of my company to an investor and get the golden handcuff. Or I could teach myself marketing and make my company make money and never have to take investor capital. And I, I took the second route. Many entrepreneurs do. That gives you freedom, gives you Power gives you ownership, gives you something you can pass on to your children. I always like that. Second route. Teach yourself marketing. Don't beg your for investor money. So let's break it down. 499 divided by five months is 999amonth. Okay? The program comes up to $36 a day for five months. That's it. It's the price of lunch. Or in Dubai, I guess maybe it's the price of a croissant and coffee. It's basically the price of lunch a day. So would you pay for a reasonable lunch a day for five months to be able to eat steak and caviar for every meal for the rest of your life? That's really what we're talking about. Enroll@mindvalley.com Social now some of you might be thinking I don't have time. Again, reasonable excuse. Netflix comparison. All of us have time. Okay? Social media is already sucking out our time. The average American is spending 17.5 hours a week scrolling through social media and or Netflix. You have time. Just sacrifice TV and mindless consumer consumption time by a little bit. I need to think about it maybe. Absolutely. And you know, there's no pressure. You can sign up anytime before the seats fill out. Okay, so anytime before like say Jan 25, 10 days. Of course if you sign up tomorrow, you get additional bonuses. But, but here's the the thing about I need to think about it. When you go, I need to think about it. It's another BS excuse that's just going to keep you in randomness. The commitment to this program is a commitment to yourself. It's a commitment to acting. Remember what I to action. Remember what I said in day one. The universe rewards intent. So have that intention. Commit to yourself to take to take this program. So let's look at what specifically do you need to think about? Is it money? No issue payment plans are available. Is it time? Three hours a week. We all have that. And this time buys you more freedom in your business. Whether it'll work. You got a 15 day guarantee and we have a breakthrough guarantee. If it doesn't work, we'll get on calls with you and we'll make it work. And I'm going to show you by the way, the power of some of these calls in a bit. Am I too late in the game, guys? I started when I was well past 40. I shared that story with you on day one. Many of our students, if you noticed their pictures, our average student age is 50. So if you are 97, maybe you might be too old. I don't know. Maybe there are better things for you to do in life at 97, but if you're over 50, you're just the average age of our student. Some other stories. Naomi Karutsky. This gave me the courage to finally step out from behind the curtain after 31 years of running my matchmaking business behind the scenes. How many of you here love what you do, but have been behind the scenes for decades? The great thing about this program is it transforms how the world sees you. This is not just social media. This is visibility. This is impact, this is power. This is finally being recognized for the good that you do in the world. Okay? Now what are legitimate reasons to not do it is this. Don't do it if you're not going to show up because it's rooted in community. We want active members in the community. Don't do this if you're looking to get rich quickly. You do learn how to make money, but first you got to learn process, virality, communication, truth values. Don't do this if you're not willing to put yourself out there because this is not something that you hire someone to do. This is for the founder, the creator, okay? And this is everything that you get. And it's over 10,900 in bonuses if you sign up by tomorrow. So remember, the program runs once a year because of the cost of bringing in all of these world class educators and we can accept 800 people this year. Go to mindvalley.com social and remember, you don't have to say yes. You only have to say maybe try it out for 15 days. We will also honor the breakthrough guarantee and go ahead and grab your spot. Thank you everyone.
Life that they love. So if you're sitting there right now and you're saying I don't have that business yet or I don't know what my brand is or I don't know what I'm doing, that's okay because you're learning from so many experts inside the social media mastery and also just here right now listening. So I hope you're having fun and we've got one more talk left, so let's tune it over to Mission and Marie.
Hi, everyone, and welcome back. I'm so honored to be sitting here with a woman who has inspired me right from the beginning, when I became an entrepreneur. Marie Foglio has been at this for 25 years. Across New platforms, across algorithmic changes, from the rise of Facebook to YouTube to the iPhone. She's had this relentless consistency and built one of the number one brands out there across social media for entrepreneurship education. So when I was starting out as an entrepreneur, like, one of the things I would really look forward to was Marie's big launch. She built such an example incredible fan base that once a year she would open up her education and 20 million in revenue would just flow through from people who were so connected to her because of her voice, because of her values. And then she did such a great job nurturing entrepreneurs that this created this incredible viral moment where they would go and tell their friends to follow Marie. So I was one of those people, and Marie had a profound impact on me as an entrepreneur, as a marketer. And when we were thinking about a guest that we wanted to bring on stage who truly represents all of the values, the principles, the insights to really putting yourself out there for the good of the world, Marie Foglio was that person.
Thank you so much.
So, Marie, I just want to read out some, some amazing statistics. Marie has had a number one New York Times bestseller, a brilliant book called Everything is figureoutable. And if you've read that book, put a yes, yes in the chat. She has been at this for 25 years and she's had over 109 million views on YouTube. Marie, welcome.
Thank you so much. Thank you everyone for being here. Thank you. For those of you at home, it is such an honor to be here and vishen I adore you. So you know how the iPhone brings up memories. This actually happened randomly. I didn't even get to show this to you, but it was a photo of you and I at a party somewhere in Washington D.C. probably like 15 years ago.
It was 2010.
Oh my gosh. So 2010. So thank you and thank your incredible team for having us, for hosting us, and for creating this space. Because we're going to have a lot of fun today and we're going to keep having fun to make sure that everyone in this audience and at home that you get the skills, the encouragement, the strategies that you need to take your businesses and your brands to the next level. Being you, not being any different than you already are, but Amplifying the values and the heart and the soul and the essence of the best of you. It's 100% possible. It's more possible now than ever. And Vish and I are going to unpack that.
Thank you, Marie. Now, I also want to stress the reason I have a laptop in front of me is because we have close to 8,000 people online right now.
Come on.
And I'm watching your chat and so it's so exciting to see. Hello, Marian. Hello, Linda. Hello, Vicki. Hello, Esther. Hello, Carmen. We can see you. We can see what you're writing. It's so good to have you guys here. So, Marie, let's get started. Now, Marie, you've built a massive platform. And, and one of the things we wanted to ask you is when we surveyed our audience, what we found is that the number one thing holding people back is the fear of being visible, the fear of being seen. People expressed in our survey, 8,600 people answered the survey. And the number one trend we found is people are terrified of putting themselves out. Did you ever feel that? And what did you do about it?
So I think what's interesting about my story, first of all, I was so insecure when starting my business and to put this as into a time frame, Context, it was 2001, so Social didn't exist yet. However, email did and the Internet and doing anything online was still super, super new. But I was just terrified because I had the fear, like most of us do, of not being good enough and at that particular time, because again, we're taking it back to 2001. My fear was, oh, I'm too young to be doing this. Who the hell is going to listen to like a 23 year old, old life coach? I haven't even, you know, lived any life. But it's that same fear that now I think is really amplified online because of social and because of how easy it is for people to disagree with you. And people are often afraid of being judged or criticized. What your friends and family, how many people resonate with that? Throw some hearts up online. Raise your hands here.
Good.
So everyone in the audience now, I would say it's probably 80%. And you can tell me how people, people are feeling online. So yes, I did feel that and I have continued to feel that throughout my career. But here's something that I know for sure. That fear will keep you stuck forever. And that fear is not what you can have be the root of your life, your essence or your impact. And hopefully we're going to unpack some of the ways today that will help you, you're never going to get rid of that fear, because I think that that's something that's primal in so many of us. But here's the thing. If you're not accustomed to posting, sharing regularly, it's like a muscle that you haven't used yet, you're just not comfortable because it's not a regular habit. Does that make sense? And once you get so used to it. So again, I'm 25 years in, it's like, oh, that old little thing. It's, it's like barely even a speed bump anymore. So, yes, I had it. We all have it. It's very normal. It doesn't mean that you're not meant to do this. It doesn't mean that you're not meant to share your message and not meant to share your product or your service. There's nothing about it that means that you're not where you should be. It just means that you haven't learned this skill or developed this habit yet.
Now, one of the things I appreciate about you is, well, firstly, not only do you share, but you are genuinely authentic. Authentic. I've seen you online.
Yeah.
And I've partied with you in Washington, D.C. and you're just real. And actually, I want to share a story about how you once terrified me. So what happened was I was in New York and I messaged Marie. It was 2008, I just become a father. And I was in New York and I had my, my baby with me. So I was in one of those, you know, that, the male baby carriage. So I had this trap and I had Hayden, my son, he was 1 years old, and Marie agreed to meet me for coffee. Okay. So we met for coffee. This was in a Starbucks. And I introduced myself to you and, you know, I was kind of shaking. I was going to interview Marie for my blog and I was already nervous. And then you, you, you, you said, oh, Hayden, nice to meet you. Now, Hayden was 1 years old. Now, Hayden did not give a damn who Marie was. So Marie's holding a coffee and Hayden reaches out as a baby and goes. And he whacks the coffee and the coffee spills all over Marie and now she's drenched in hot coffee. I'm freaking out. I'm like, oh, my God, my one year old just cost me my interview. Marie is going to absolutely hate me. She's going to walk out. And then I turn to you and I go, are you okay? Do you need to go back and change? And Marie Dripping with coffee. And she still smells so good. Dripping with coffee. She said, that's okay. I'm all good. It's just coffee. Let's continue. And I developed so much respect for you that day.
Oh, my goodness. It's so funny. I don't even remember the coffee. Like, I don't even remember that happening. I just remember how much love and adoration and respect I had for you. And that's why an event like this is so special. And I want to take this back to what you are doing and what you are building. Here's one of the greatest things that can happen for you from sharing your voice, your ideas, your offers, your products online, is the relationships you will develop. So this incredible human and I became connected because of the online world. And I'm here today, all of those years later, and we share so many friends and colleagues and memories. And he's made my life richer in so many, many ways. And you will have impacts on people that you cannot even imagine. Not just them, but their children and their children's children. And that's why you're here. And that's what this whole thing is about. Revenue is great. That's wonderful. Yay. We all love money. I love money. The impact is great. The other opportunities are great, but it comes down to the relationships, and it comes down to you making the difference that you were born to make. And we happen to be here in 2023. Basics. And social media is one of the primary vehicles you get to use to do that.
So the question I want to ask you. Is this one of the summit registrants? So one of the people watching wrote this in the survey, and I want to read it out. Social media feels like forcing myself to be inauthentic. It drains my energy. Now, Marie, you've managed to build a massive brand that is deeply you. And I've seen you on social media. I've seen you in real life.
Yes.
Okay. Drenched in coffee. Yes. And it's the same person. How do you stay authentic when the algorithm often seems to reward performance?
Yes. Okay, so this is a great question. And I think it actually comes back to a root of something else that we all share as humans, which is when we're insecure, we are more likely to stray away from our own essence and look towards someone else. Compare ourselves, and then try and copy that. Has anyone here ever done anything like that? You look at someone who's successful and you're like, oh, I need to be more like that person or that brand. If this resonates online. Please throw some little thumbs up in the chat. Vishen can let me know. That's where I think we all get a little bit off course now. Having people that you admire is awesome. Not trying to be them, but understanding, oh wow, they just allow themselves to not have great light and they don't give an F. Or someone who tells jokes or is really humorous, or you can kind of admire the qualities but you don't want to try and be them. Now that's a subtle level of discernment and it's important here especially because of what you're talking about. This authenticity factor. I always like to think about not only social media, but any creation of content in terms of having just a one on one conversation. I often call it the friend filter. Write this down. The friend filter. So prior to AI, I still use this when writing copy because I still really do love to write copy. I'm a wordsmith. The friend filter is how you get any and all of your messaging to actually friggin sound like you. And a really great way to practice this is if you took out your phone and opened up a new text to an actual friend, to somebody you really, really know, how would you start talking to them? What would you say? So let's say it's around your business, your product, your service or your offering and you know there was something that you just discovered, you just created that you knew your best friend. My goodness, if they said yes to your product or service, your offer, your lead magnet, whatever it is, it would freaking change their life. Would you be like, hey guys, you know I was just. Or be like, oh my God, you have to hear this. So using the friend filter, if you start to practice with that, it gets you right in your authentic zone, not someone else's authentic zone. So let's talk about the algorithm for a minute and let's talk about what that rewards. As we know when you start digging a little bit deeper into the layers under social media, we know this from the studies and from the research and just from observing, is that the algorithm tends to reward things that are very extreme. Right? We also know that it tends to reward things sometimes that are negative or outrageous. If that's you, naturally wonderful, go with it. If that's your true essence and that's how you roll in the world. If you're that friend who shows up and just drops some kind of bomb and you watch how other people react, react, fabulous be you. But if that feels inauthentic to you, don't effing do it doesn't mean that you can't pay attention to tactics like dropping in the middle of a story or not, you know, having this long winded opening. But there is a way that you show up that is so real to you. And I believe I'm going to predict this. As we continue into the future with more and more AI, I think people are going to crave the realness. They're going to crave the authenticity that can only come from your essence. When you allow that to just be expressed again, you'll get better at the tactics is when you go. But I think if you start with the friend filter, pretend that you're actually talking to one person and a friend, that's going to help keep you on that alignment. And the moment you get snookered into what I call compare Schlager. There was this liquor that I drank when I was in college. It was called Goldschlager. I don't know if anyone ever remembers that. It was terrible. It's clear. It has gold flakes and it smells like cinnamon. I wasn't a big drinker, but I did drink too much of that and would do, you know, a couple shots and then wind up throwing up in a corner. And I remember seeing people online in the early days of social and just comparing myself to other people and I'm like, this is like, compare Schlager. Like if I look around and look at all these other people and how great they're doing and then look at myself and go, oh my God, I'm so shitty for like three or four days I'd have a comparison hangover and I wouldn't do anything productive. So that's why this authenticity piece is so huge. Don't get snookered into compare schloggers. Use the friend filter. That'll help keep you aligned.
I really like that friend filter concept. Now, you wrote a book called Everything is Figureoutable. Yes. And one of the questions we got is this. I'm an. I have expertise, but I'm paralyzed by what to post. Yeah. How do you figure that out?
Oh, I think one of the easiest ways to figure out what to post, if you are an expert, is to go with a Q and A format. So I actually started MarieTV as a Q and A in some respects because the brain, the human brain, is really designed to answer questions. Have you noticed that often when we have dialogues with ourselves or like, like, what should I eat?
What should I do?
And you're so. You're always going back and forth. Anyone with some kind of Expertise. You know this. If someone asks you a question, you rarely have talker's block or writer's block, especially if you know the answer. Am I right? How many people in here ever get talker's block? If someone asks you a question, you get talker's block. No, no, you're. I'm sure you're good. You're good. Anywho, take it in a Q and A format. So write down, let's say, the top 25 or 50 questions that you consistently get asked. Here's a great place that if you don't know what those questions are, you could use AI as an assist. If you have a list in an audience already, you can start pulling them. You can start talking with people. So, you know, so many people have struggled with this visibility thing with getting started with their social media. If this is you and this is what you struggle with, here's the quickest fix to help this get an answer or get a solution. Does that make sense?
So what you're saying is imagine people asking you questions. Look at the most. If you're an expert, look at the biggest questions you're getting. I'm sure there's at least 50.
At least.
And then how would you answer it? Like, let's talk, you know, opening. Let's talk time. What does that look like? Let's say I asked you a question, Marie. Your book hit number one.
Yes.
What's the first thing I need to do if I want to get a book at.
The first thing you need to do if you want to get a book out, you actually have to decide what your goal for that book is. Is it about visibility? Is it about making money? Is it about hitting the New York Times bestseller list? So I would probably come back with a question, and then that would start to build out. Oh, you know what? There's probably five things you should ask yourself before you even begin to write a book. In the next series of videos I'm going to do over the, you know, four weeks or whatever, I'm going to tackle the biggest X, Y, or Z. Let's start with number one. So now, in today's world of viral videos and social media, is that going to be like, oh, my God, it's going to hit and it's going to get 4 million views? Maybe not. But you know what? If you're stuck and you feel paralyzed because you don't know what to post? I don't care about you hitting it out of the park with your first post. I need you getting consistent in Sharing content. Does that make sense? So done is better than perfect. So in terms of answering that question, it could be like so many people ask me about X, Y and Z or did you know, 70% of people struggle with imposter syndrome? Here's a quick, easy thing you can do to solve that. So don't worry about having the perfect opening or the perfect story or wearing a costume or anything like that. If that's not you, I would rather rather see you get consistent and get momentum and then you can tweak up all of your tactics and strategies on the top end.
So, you know, we were talking backstage and Marie shared an insight with me which I thought was really powerful and something I want to have her repeat to you as well. Marie was talking about why she doesn't like always being on Instagram or Facebook because that can be toxic, and how she separates the work into two pieces. Thesis. Could you share that with the audience, Marie?
Yes. So for context, I believe this is to be true.
Do you.
Do many of you feel like social media drains your energy? Like it's fucking kryptonite? Sorry, I didn't know if that was bad. Yeah, like it's effing kryptonite. Yes. Right. Does anyone here feel like it screws with your mental health from time to time?
Everyone in the chat. Yes, yes, yes, yes.
So I was in a dance class the other day, and I'm surrounded by business owners everywhere. And. And I'm going to answer this question very specifically, but she's a super successful business owner. And she confessed to me, she said, marie, she goes, I think I need to take a break from social media. And she's like, it's really messing with my mental health. And this is a very strong entrepreneur, is very wonderful woman. And I pulled her aside and I said, you know, she's like, but I'm nervous because all of my revenue comes from social media. And I said, we're going to be able to fix that for you. So I am the same way as you. I'm extremely sensitive. As an energetic being, I'm extremely empathic. And I would say probably five, maybe eight years ago, I started feeling a real disconnection in terms of my own time that I was spending on social media and watching the negative impacts. And I was like, this is not good for me. So here's what I do now. I love creating content. I love supporting people and helping them change their lives in any way that I possibly can. But I create all of the things, shoot the videos, script it, whatever I need to do to make that stuff. And then I hand it off to my team and they do 99.9% of everything else. When there are special DMS, when there are things that that really require my presence and my energy, my team lets me know. And then I go in for what I call commando missions, meaning I'm like a little soldier that goes in for a targeted mission. It usually takes me five to six minutes to do whatever it is, answer that dm, go take a look at this, be with this person, whatever it is, and then I get out. I cannot tell you what a huge difference that has made for me, my own mental well being, my emotional well being. And so for anyone in this audience, I would say to you, the fastest that you can have someone help you set up a system like that, it is going to be worth your time and your energy. The other thing is batch create as much as possible. It's probably one of the biggest secrets to why I'm sitting on this stage today is because over time I've trained myself to do a lot in a short amount of time and then get out again. Everyone is built differently. Some people I meet, some people that like thrive, being online and having a phone in their face all day, God bless those people. I am not one of them. So I think that I love that we're having this conversation because I am living proof that you do not have to live your entire life online or have a phone stuck to your face to actually continue to make the difference that you were born to make and to be really effective at social media.
Beautiful. While I'm looking at the comments, Eddie is saying, brilliant love from India. Thompson is saying, love this advice, Marie. Now I'm curious, you're so busy.
Yes.
How do you actually find the time to batch create? Is there a minimum effective dose for how much content to create?
I think that's going to be different based on what stage and season of your business that you're at. So it's also going to be different based on what your ambitions are. Right. So for some of us, social media is just a necessary channel that we want to use because we know that's where a lot of eyeballs are, that's where our ideal customers are at. That's one of the things that we want to use in order to get our messages out there and to connect with people. Some people might have the ambition to be an influencer or, you know, we'll talk about Mr. Beast because he's just incredible and amazing. But if that is Your aspiration to be of that stature in that world. The minimum effective dose to getting there is going to look a lot different than if you're someone that's running a local massage therapy practice and you want to be really known in your local area and be able to change lives that way. Does that make sense? So I don't think there's ever a one size fits all answer to that question. I think it really comes back to having total clarity and honesty with yourself about where you are in your business journey, what are your specific dreams and aspirations, and then being able to reverse engineer back into that. Now, it might take a little experimentation. And I would say if you're at the beginning of your journey, you're probably going to need to do more to get what I like to call escape velocity. Sometimes, if you know anything about rockets, it takes a lot of energy for a rocket to get off the ground and to kind of break through until it gets into space. And once it gets into space, then there's a lot more orbit, there's a lot more ease. So if you're just beginning, you do have to do more in the beginning, but once you get momentum and you get consistency, you can often lighten the load a bit.
Beautifully said. So big question coming in from the audience. Okay. And the question that I'm seeing in the chat, and it's coming up frequently, is, okay, but how do I overcome my own imposter syndrome?
Oh, this is a good one. So I do know from the research that up to 70% of us from time to time struggle with feeling like a fraud or a fake, or that we're going to be found out. One of the easiest and best ways to sidestep that feeling like a fraud or feeling like an imposter. You want to think about it like this. Your attention is like a spotlight. Okay? In any given moment, you're either with your spotlight out on your audience, talking to them about their fears, their frustrations, their dreams and their aspirations, or that spotlight is focused on you, and you're like, oh, my God, am I good enough? Are they gonna like me? Am I too old and I'm too young? Do I have too many wrinkles? Did I say something stupid? Oh, my God. Can't be both at once. So if you want to sidestep imposter syndrome, take that spotlight and have it be directed out. Put all of your attention and energy on the people that you're serving. Inspiring, entertaining, making, laugh, and let your attention on yourself. Fade into the background.
They love that response. So when you were starting out, when you were starting out, I mean, you obviously you were, you were just a young 23 year old coach.
Oh my God, Yes. What a hot mess. Yes. Was I? Yes, please.
What were some of the first things you did to start building your incredible fan base?
I think part of it was because I was so insecure, man. I offered to coach anyone who would allow me to coach them, like my best friends, people that I met. I was bartending at the time, people that I met in the bar. I would coach your pets if you let me. Anything that I could possibly, possibly do to grow skills and confidence from a very authentic place to prove mostly to myself that I could actually help people change their lives. Does that make sense?
Yeah.
So it was like very, very non scalable. It was very, very one, to one, hand to hand kind of coaching combat. That was the first thing that I did. The other thing that I did well, and this was something that I learned at Coach University, which was the first coach training institute that I knew of in existence kind of before the world of coaching exploded. The one thing they taught me was the fact that if you ever wanted to change potentially thousands or maybe millions of lives, that you couldn't just be a great coach, that you had to also learn how to be a great small business owner because you could be the best coach in the world with the best skills. But if you don't know how to attract people to your actual business, you're going to be, be broke and miserable in that. I learned about something called email marketing, which was very new at the time. So I was starting to get all of my chops going in the coaching world. And I said, well, I guess this whole email thing is how I'm going to be marketing to these people that I want to change their lives. And that was one of the key pieces of starting to publish content every single week in an email newsletter starting in 2001.
And I have never stopped since 2001.
Correct.
Wow. Okay, so this, I think this is a really important point. Email marketing. So social media is all the rage. You all hear about it, and that's because, you know, companies like meta, like Google, YouTube, they constantly are telling you how important their platform is and why you need to be on their platform. Obviously they make money off you, but what not enough people talk about is email. Are you building an email list? Because I can tell you this, 50% of our revenue does not come from social media. It comes from the email list. On social media. The algorithm decides if your message is going to go out. Facebook can throttle you, but email, it's going out. You decide what you want to say. And both me and Marie, we built mega email list. Our email list is 2 1/2 million. Marie, let's talk about that. I want to go back because I think this is of extreme use to people over here. Let's just take a few minutes and let's talk about email. Even though it's not perceived as social media, it is a powerful form of audience building.
It is a powerful form of audience building and it's still a viable marketing channel if you do it right. And here's what's cool. All the things that we talked about already in terms of your authenticity, right? In terms of you saw the problems, in terms of you showing up with that friend filter. Here's what's awesome now because there are so many platforms and there's so many different ways to reach people and people are on all of these different platforms that you can reuse and repurpose and you should be, because how many people here? Like, sometimes you're looking at your email and sometimes you're looking at YouTube and sometimes you're looking at social. So email is still, still, still really relevant if you do it right. I forgot what you asked me, but I just wanted to.
I'm curious to know how you think about email. Like how often do you write to your lists? How do you get people to join your email? How do you go from say Instagram to getting an email address?
Oh my gosh, that's some of the most fun things and the fun tools that there are out right now. So for me, I always think about getting everyone back onto the email list. Like that's where all roads lead back to email. Because I want that intimate one on one feeling of a conversation. I like to rate my emails 99% of the time. Like they're just a text based email of me talking to a friend. Does that make sense? And we don't have what's great as opposed to YouTube, which is awesome, or podcast or social, of course, which we're talking about now. But it's kind of like being at a really loud rave. Do you know, like there's so much going on all around you and people are easily distracted. But when you got them an email, if you know how to write good, compelling copy, it's like you're having a one on one conversation and it's quiet. It's like you're in a nice little corner at a party and you're just Having this kind of situation. So for me, the baseline has always been once a week. That's the cadence. That has felt good to me. I have so many brilliant smart marketing friends and so many people that run companies. They're like, you must email every day. But once again, it comes back to knowing, knowing what your goals are. So some of them were trying to build email companies that then they would sell like a skim or there were other kind of daily email newsletter type of businesses and there's other people who just want to hammer their list every day because that's just the kind of business that they want to build. That's their vibe. It just has never been my vibe. So the way that I think about it is I try and build a business and whether this is right or wrong, it's just served me based on how I want to be treated as a customer, how I feel good. And I've liked that once a week cadence. We increase that during launches, but we let people know what's going on. And sometimes if we're running a special five day promo, there's going to be five emails once a day for five days. So I think that there are so many different ways that you can customize it based on what your intention is and whether it's nurture content or a sales cycle. But from a nurture perspective, it's been once a week.
I see. And that's a really important point. I just want to add one, one thing that we do because I see this question coming up. How often should you send emails? When someone signs up to our list, it's 20 emails a month. But you can choose to get to go from say five emails a week to three emails a week or one email a week. It's just an option so you don't have to send. So you send everyone what they request in their permission settings. So if you feel some of your mega fans might like five emails a week, others may want one a week. But with any email type service you use, you can set those in the settings. So Marie, when it comes to launches, yes, you're well known for your launches. So when Marie does a launch and she was doing her launch once a year, she would generate 20 million in revenue from her fan base. She would make them wait. She was not perpetually selling. She would make them wait and then boom, she opens up her program. 20 million. I remember when I saw that, I was blown away. It was so inspiring. Take us through that launch process. How do you go from building an audience to generating revenue?
Yeah, And I'll tell you, that was all based on just my desire that I actually just wanted to help people. So this comes back to our program that's called B School Online business school for those who want to make money and change the world. And I remember just understanding the fact that I was just starting out when I built this program and that I didn't have a huge audience. And I was like, okay, well how am I going to get other people to talk about this? And it was like, oh, affiliate marketing and saying, great, if you introduce this offer to your audience, audience, I am happy to pay you half, 50% of what the tuition was because I know how hard it is to actually build an audience. And I knew how great my product was. But I wanted to reward people that were willing to share about it and I wanted to do it in a way where they felt good, where everything was just really transparent. So that wasn't born. That whole thing didn't happen because I was like, oh my God, I can't wait to make, you know, $20 million in two weeks. It only came about because I was so committed to trying to change as many lives as possible by getting B School exposed to as many lives as possible. And I knew that the way to do that was through having the right partners. Having partners where there was a value alignment, where the people who, their audience that they've already built had the same type of values in terms of building a business that was rooted in integrity and heart and wanting to actually make a difference and not looking at your customers as just numbers on the bottom of a balance sheet. So all of that came through that one on one relationship building. And then we just wanted to have fun, we wanted to have a really great time and change a lot of lives. And I think I was around in a very special moment because at that time there wasn't a lot of small business education. And even though none of my content was gender specific because there wasn't a lot of women in the space at that time, it was really beautiful because there was a lot of people like, oh, wow, there's this program and it was created by a woman and there's a bunch of women supporting it. Like it was really unique and special.
So what was that first hump that you had to overcome to really tell yourself, okay, I'm qualified to teach this?
Yes.
Because you were in your mid-20s when you started.
Yes.
There must have been some self doubt.
Some. There was a. There was like endless self doubt. I think for me, so much of the growth that I've experienced in my life has come out of failure, pain and screwing things up. So well before B school I figured out that in order to reach the financial goals that I had for myself in my personal life, that it was never going to happen. Teaching and coaching one on one, there was obviously a limit to the amount of of hours that I could coach people in the day and there's a limit to the amount of people that I could coach in a week. And you can kind of do the math. And when I learned about going from one to one to one to many, I did my first group program which was called Productivity Secrets for creative Entrepreneurs. And I remember just selling to, I think it was 40 people who said yes. And I was like, what? 40 people said yes? And it was just the most mind blowing thing in the world. That was all the predecessor to, well before we did anything with B school. But I'll tell you this, because I had been teaching personal development for the first really long stretch of my career. I was terrified to start teaching about business. Even though I knew a lot about it, even though I was really good at it. I felt like such a fraud. And I had been coaching and doing these things for like seven years. But once v school came around, I was terrified again. And I did that spotlight method. I said, either I'm gonna sit here like a scaredy little cat and be worried about oh, what do people think of me, or I said, I can go out and change some freaking lives. And I took that spotlight and I put it out and I put all my focus on changing people's lives and tried to take as much attention off of myself as I possibly could. That was the only way I got through it.
So speaking of courses, how are you leveraging AI right now? Because there are people out there who are saying in this era of AI, people don't want courses anymore.
Yeah. And I think it's really valid. I think it's a very open question. Here's what I see. So one in terms of B school, I'm so excited we're talking about this. Vishen and I were having yogurt together this morning and we were having a really good time. This is going to be the first year that we have AI built into B school. So I'm super excited about it because I, I do believe that it can help us all get through some speed bumps, especially around like, oh, should I do this, should I do that? People have a lot of self doubt because they can't really see something come to life. And So I think AI can be a real leverage, it can be a real advantage to gaining speed. But what I don't want to see it do is diminish your ability to create and think for yourself. You have to stay really, really smart as we go along. It's just like muscle. If you it's either use it or lose it. And when it comes to copy, when it comes to ideation, when it comes to using, your instincts as an entrepreneur, do not outsource everything to AI. I really believe that with my heart and soul. And I think the brands that are going to win are going to understand how to use AI to amplify their humanity, not dumb it down. So that's one thing in terms of courses, which was what your question was about. Here's what I think. I think now more than ever, it's going to be about being smart, specific and small and not general. Right. So I think that I was able to hit it out of the park with B school, and I'm grateful for all that. But moving forward, I think courses are going to work that are very targeted and very specific for people and solving a very specific problem and making them smaller, not bigger.
Thank you, Marie. So, as we come to the final 10 minutes of this, what I want to do is I want to take your questions and I posted a picture of me and Marie having breakfast this morning and I asked the audience to submit questions on Instagram. So I want to ask you some of the questions that came in from our Instagram audience. Okay. So first, Merrily Luik asks, what is your primary focus and do you think it's important to pay attention to energy as well?
What's my primary focus and do I.
Think it's on a day to day basis?
Oh, okay, great. Personally, I'm coming out of two and a half years that have probably been the toughest two and a half years of my life. This is something on the personal side, but it does answer her question was because a few years ago I had both of my parents, who, God bless, are still alive, have extraordinary traumatic health crisises both at once. So I was thrown in an instant into a caregiver kind of position and it threw our whole family kind of upside down. So my primary focus right now is actually resetting my own nervous system because it was so dysregulated from all of that. And I know that that's not maybe what that person was expecting the answer to be, but it's just the truth, which is why I'm so excited and happy to Be here with you all. What was the second part of her question?
The second part of the question is, is it important to work on your energy?
Yes. So perfect. Follow up there. Here's the thing. You, as a business owner, you are your most important asset in your business. And there's no amount of strategy, there's no amount of tactics, there's no amount of push, and there's honestly no amount of money that's going to make anything better if you're not right with you, if you don't have your mental health, your emotional health, your physical health in a place where. Where you feel really strong. Here's how I think about myself, especially as it relates to social and it relates to the business. And I tell my team this because I am a personal brand. I am the golden goose, right? The golden goose needs to be protected. And because of the last two and a half years of what I've been through with my family, I was like, the golden. She needs a break. She needs to get her nervous system back in alignment. She needs to make sure that all the systems are set up so that all of the things that I have yet to create can come to life and they can come to life in a way that isn't at the expense of my soul and my being. So I think energy is really, really important. And this is the other thing, and I feel confident about being able to say this from the position of having done this for 25 years is pace yourself. Pace yourself. There is enough time. We know that both life is long and short. And I think in many respects, I've watched people burn themselves out because they push so hard, because they want to reach these enormous goals, because they're really coming from a place of fear. And I want you to understand that nothing that is meant for you is ever going to pass by you. So pace yourself. It's okay to take it slow. You're going to get exactly where you need to get to.
The audience here live. Really loved that response. And even the online audience is saying phenomenal and put. People are putting a lot of hearts. Okay, so here's another question, and this is from Riti Jatania. Could you give me one advice to get started for someone to make their first income online?
Oh, to make their first income online. Well, there are so many ways we can tackle this. Like, this is one of those examples where I wish I could have this person right here with me because as the coach, I'm like, I've got 10 million questions to ask them. So I think really, it Comes back to, what are you looking to create? Is it about the thrill of having that first amount of money online? Because honestly, you could do that pretty quickly. You know, there's people that've got all kinds of, of fetishes about feet. And also you could be like, hey, do you want to see my feet? Here's five dollars. And you all that can happen really fast. However, if the answer to what you're really looking to. I love that this one cracked Vishen up. He's like, I did not see that one coming. If the real answer is that you're looking to build a business or you're looking to validate the possibility that you have an idea for a course or product or a service, there's going to be a much different answer. I would say, hey, step one might be talk to 100 people who have the kind of problem that you think that you can solve and help them solve that problem for free or an aspect of it. So you can talk to people in DMs, you can go to conferences. There's so many different ways. But that would be the most genuine route to understanding how to make money with integrity online and then building something that has sustainability and that can last.
Now, last question is from Sophia Mooks. As a therapist today, I can't find enough clients. How did Marie do it?
Oh, my gosh, I did it hand to hand combat when I was like, bartending and teaching fitness and doing all these things. Do you guys know I taught striptease classes while I was. Yes, I did. I was running around with the feather. But yes, I will take that all day long. For those of you at home, there's someone in the audience just going like this, like, this is one of my favorite moves ever. Anyway, I would pick up clients anywhere that I could find them. So bartending, right? People would be like, oh, so when you're not bartending, are you also an actress? I'm like, I'm a life coach. Here is my mailing list. It was on a yellow legal pad. I'm like, are there any challenges or problems that, that you really want to work on? Because I bet you I could help you with that. So I would literally go. I was shameless about finding people any place I can find them. And I honestly think that approach still works. There is no shame when you are trying to help people and you have a gift and it could transform their lives. Do not be shy about sharing it.
That's beautiful. Audience online. Stephanie is saying, lol, cool. Laura is saying, love this Content. Vicki is saying, amazing idea. I have really good feet.
Can I just say something really fast? How close are we on time?
We have about seven minutes.
Okay, great. I want to say that when we were talking about doing this together, when I was talking about being here, literally, I was like, omg, there is so much that I have to share and teach that I was really excited. I don't know if we can talk a little bit about social media mastery right now, because all of the questions that we're talking about, some of the struggles that come up, I'm like, I could talk about this for hours. Like, I have so many solutions and so many tactics and so many things that have worked for me that I want to pass on to you. So I'm really honored that I get to teach in Vishen and Mindvalley's program called Social Media Mastery. I just want to say that. So, like, digging on this and you're.
Like, but I want more.
I'm like, yes, we're going to dig.
In so much deeper. Thank you, Marie. Yeah, just a quick explain it there. So mindvalley has two different learning models. We have our app. Our app this past year was featured in every Apple Store in the world. 200,000 stores. It's one of the foremost apps for learning and development. And on our app we have a lot of amazing content. But we also have a university called the Mindvalley Academy. Mindvalley.com academy. And one of our most popular programs is a five month micro degree where we help entrepreneurs really nail social media. The degree takes off once a year. It's starting in about two weeks. Marie and all the other teachers you see on stage are part of the curriculum. So you learn from these incredible minds in a cohesive system. And in five months you become a social media superstar. More on that tomorrow. So, Marie, what I'd like to do now is I want to ask you some fast questions.
Yes.
Okay, so. So first one, complete the sentence for our audience. The thing about fear is it's never.
Going to leave you. It's a myth that it's going to go away someday. When you get a thousand or ten thousand or one hundred thousand or a million followers, that shit is going to be with you for life. That's how you know you're alive. So don't try and get rid of it.
Okay. On authenticity, if you had to tweet your philosophy on authentic personal branding, what would that tweet say?
Keep it real and have fun. That's it. I'm not a big tweeter but I like it got seven claps. That's great.
What's one question someone should ask themselves before they post anything?
Are you going to be proud of what you are about to post 20 years from now? And would it be cool if what you're about to post was on the COVID of the New York Times?
Ooh.
Because sometimes. Listen, y' all know this, right? This is what we're talking about. I know we're gonna try and keep it fast, but you can compare yourself. Or you see someone go viral for something and they're getting so outrageous that they're crying and then the camera, right? And if that's not, you don't do that shit. And here's another big important thing, especially on social, because you know, things can get heated from now. And again, do not post when you are emotionally charged. And you know what I'm talking about. You know what I'm talking about. You could have X amount of likes and hearts and everybody cheering on for what you shared. And you got that one person that comes in hot. And if you're Italian or you're some fiery ethnicity like me, and I'm like, oh, Jersey, Marie's coming out and she, somebody's gonna get cut. Like I can hear it and feel it all in there. And you guys know, right? You've seen stuff kind of erupt online. Never ever post in that state. Never ever post. Put the keyboard down, put your phone down, go to sleep. But that one thing before you post anything. Are you going to be proud of this in 20 years? And would it be okay if this was on the COVID of the New York Times? Yes, Front page.
Thank you, Marie. So, two final questions. You admitted publicly that you have horrible days and you used the word that I cannot say on stage here and get mired in fear and self doubt. For someone watching you right now who's terrified to post their first video or put themselves out, what would you say to them from a place of shared compassion and humanity if they were terrified.
To put their first post and they.
Were just having a miserable day?
Oh, my God. Okay, first, I would help them get out of that feeling in that state and I would have them listen to some incredible music. And because I'm a dancer, I would have them dance and just shake all that those vibes off. I guarantee when you change how your body's moving and especially I think music is a miracle. I think it's such a transformative force. They would be able to create something in a much different energetic state and be really proud to post it.
What's your favorite soundtrack?
My. You know, that's a really great question.
Is there a Spotify Marie playlist we can subscribe to to get your energy?
I feel like I need to create one because I am a child. I grew up in the 90s. Like, I just don't think late 90s, early 2000s, hip hop, it doesn't get any better. So I will go back to any of those playlists and I'm just like in a totally different world. I'm like, watch out. So you can search for any of that, but I'll make.
Okay. No, I'm gonna go for the go to song to energize you.
The Go to. You know what? One really gets me going sometimes, especially in this context. Do you guys know let's Get Down. Let's get down to business? Give me one more night. Right, that one. Oh, my God. I'm just like, what? Where are my glow sticks? Get something in my hand now.
I love that. Mine is Missy Elliott. Get your freak on.
Oh, classic.
Okay. I don't know why this is not turning into a social media whole dance.
Those in the chat, those in the chat, I want you to post your song that picks you up, energizes you. When you hear this song, it brings you back into the right mood. Post it in the chat. And mindvalley team, can we build a Spotify playlist on this?
Yes.
Okay, now, final question. Marie. Yes. If you could go back in time. Okay. And see the Marie, who was 23 years old, who was bartending, trying to build her business, having occasional doubts, not knowing what you know right now about social media and branding. What advice would you give this younger version of you?
I would tell her to have so much fun on the ride and to keep going and to any time she felt like she wanted to quit, I would tell her to hang in there because it's going to get better. Better than you could possibly imagine. To let yourself cry and be frustrated and all those things, but as quickly as possible to get right back up and keep going.
Thank you, Marie. Please give a big round of applause to Marie Foglio.
Insides. Thank you all for participating in the chat. I'm loving some of these. Walk with me. Unstoppable. Daddy Cool. Don't know that one. So many amazing things here. And it's so. It's so true how music can just change everything. And I hope that you guys took so much away from this. Marie and Vishen, this conversation was incredible. Some highlights for me is put Your attention on the people you are serving. You know so many times we, we don't do things we don't share. Just like Maria was saying, we don't post, we don't do things because we're thinking about ourselves. But we when we can stop doing that and put our attention on the people we are serving. I love it. Changing focus on changing people's lives and that really goes into what Vishen started talking about at the very beginning of this visibility. And sometimes the wrong voices have the loudest microphone and when we can be thinking about others and how we can serve, we can get that mic in our hands and share and do it through love. If you guys remember, that was the last principle that Prince EA talked about is love and is the greatest thing that we have. And I loved his example of the kids in the Special Olympics race and how one one fell they went back for him. And that's what it's all about. It's about lifting each other up. And so I really hope that this highlights them, gave you some clarity on what it is that you wish to share in the world and that's what this is all about. You get clear on what your mission is, on what your product is, your coaching, your business, your voices and then let the experts inside of the social media mastery help you bring that to the world. As Prince said, you don't have to know everything, you don't have to be an expert in everything. Learn what's working and do that and in this case learn the tools, learn the information, learn the knowledge that they have and be able to apply that to your life. So I hope that you learned so much on this highlight summit and for those of you that choose to join the Mastery program, please know again that there's a 15 day money back guarantee that the that the discount, the early bird discount ends tomorrow and that there are actually less since this aired way less than half of the spots left. So if that is something that you are excited about, about learning social media and from Marie Forleo, from Vishen, from Brendan Cain, from Prince EA and so many other experts like Natalie Ellis, from Boss Babe, Dominic Ashburn, so many other people that weren't even on this highlight but are going to be part of this program then please know that that is open, that there is team members you can talk to and we would love to have you in it. If you are on the edge and you're not sure about social media, I just want to encourage you to please know it is so important for you to share your light with the world to share the way that your heart is looking to express and in that process, to help other people, because that's truly what this is all about. So thank you guys for so much for joining us here at Mind Valley's social media highlight summit. Again, my name is Caitlyn o', Toole, and we look to see you guys inside of the program or at the next event. You guys all have a beautiful day, beautiful night, and we'll see you next time.
