The 5Ps Framework for Agentic Development

In this presentation Vishen Lakhiani outlines a practical framework for building AI agents, emphasizing five key principles. First, define a narrow, purposeful role for the AI (e.g., COO, receptionist) so its function is clear. Second, decide who the system serves—whether it’s the creator, customers, or vendors—because a focused audience improves performance. Third, keep the AI’s scope niche to maximize effectiveness. Fourth, establish a central “portfolio” or “brain” (e.g., Google Drive, SharePoint) that stores all relevant information the agent can draw from. Fifth, persist every interaction (e.g., in sheets or databases) so mistakes can be reviewed and the model can be continuously trained, acknowledging that every AI launch is biased and imperfect and requires ongoing refinement.
