Two speakers (family members) describe adopting a flexible fitness routine that fits differing schedules by combining home workouts and gym sessions. They emphasize the program’s adaptability (works for children and older adults), its focus on long-term lifestyle change rather than short-term fixes, and multiple benefits including improved family cohesion, communication, emotional and psychological wellbeing, and increased physical strength and function. The routine is individualized, scalable, and practiced about three times per week; the family has recently shifted more sessions to the gym.

The dynamic of having all three of us on board is just absolutely magical. There's always one of us that's coaching the others and saying, come on, we gotta do it today. And I was looking for something that would be like a true lifestyle change for our family, not just for me.
We have very different schedules and so that was one of the difficult things for us to juggle. We started the workouts at home and then established a routine of when we could do it that fit all of our schedules. The last three weeks or so kind of transitioned to moving more toward the gym with occasional home workouts.
And the idea of maximizing our time and having flexibility to be at home or at the gym has been a key factor. Ultimately end up with long term results, not just a short term kind of a thing. I wanted to try just to get into a healthier state of being and also kind of like my mom said, to find something that isn't just going to be a short term fix and then things will slowly go back to the way they were. But a long term lifestyle change. Lorenzo's depth of knowledge exceeds anything I have ever come across.
He approaches it from so many dimensions, kind of reduces the weight of so much to do and so many big things to try and tackle that it makes it a lot easier and feels like somebody's working with me side by side instead of just telling me what to do and then I just go do it.
Everyone's gonna start at a certain level and there's room for progress for everyone. And the beauty of it is it's so individualized that it'll take you and meet you where you're at and build from there. So that doesn't matter if you're 90 or 10. My 10 year old joins us sometimes and is able to do the exercises so he can't do something. There's ways to change things if it's not enough for you. It's so flexible. It is so, so flexible.
Even our cat is trying to spread.
I think that it's helped our relationship as a family. Like we're spending more time together. Before we were doing this, we wouldn't spend as much time together. We're eating a lot of meals together, we're working out three times a week together. And I also think that it's helping us in our communication with each other. My biggest shift is increased strength. So I'm an avid hiker, I do a lot of yoga and I like to combine the two. And just recently in the last week or two, I have surpassed skill levels that I haven't been able to achieve for 15 years of doing it the other way.
I think for me one of the big shifts has been this has felt more like it's satisfying multiple dimensions of our being. It seems like a very well rounded approach to cover all the important parts of stuff, not just various parts of physical health and improvements, but even the emotional and the psychological and some of that other stuff. So I feel like it's more comprehensive that way and I don't feel these big, oh my gosh, I can't wait till it's over or, you know, when it's done, I get to relax or any of that stuff. Like, I do feel like it's more a lifestyle change for me, which has been a lot harder, way harder for me than it is for them.
I like to focus on function, right? So for me it's about being able to have a strong body to do what I want to be able to do. That does mean building muscle. But my body's never going to naturally build muscle like a man, because I'm not a man, I'm a woman. So it's going to build it like a woman does, which isn't bulky, which isn't excessive or extreme, and it just looks better, tighter overall. I can still be exercising and building strength, not necessarily more muscle, and I can be losing fat and having my bones healthier. And it's not all about the muscles. It.
