A short spoken segment from Vishen Lakhiani arguing that fitness should serve the body—not the ego. Confidence arises from consistently showing up and caring for your body (food, exercise, routines) and tailoring care to your unique body type, rather than chasing an externally imposed ideal. The emphasis is on presence, consistent self-care, and understanding individual bodily needs.

People use fitness to serve the ego and not serve the body. What gives people confidence about their body is not the state that the body is at. Just get somebody who is in a peak state and put them for a whole week not to care about their body, not to take care, not to show up. They will start feeling at the worst case scenario because they are not show. The attitude is not there. Not even if the body is not in the ideal state. But you are showing up to your body and taking care of it. The idea is not that I will manipulate you to become what I wanted to be, but I will show up. I'll give you my best. I would try to understand what my body needs. I'll give the best type of food, I'll bring the best type of exercise. I'll do all the best type of routines for the body to become what it wants to become. That's what make you confident about your body. And then that is what allows your body to have the best version of that is available for your own type of body, for your unique type of body.
