Vishen Lakhiani argues college degrees won't be necessary after 2025 and pitches Mindvalley, an AI-powered learning platform, as the replacement. He cites data that only 30% of college graduates work in their field and claims Mindvalley can deliver Harvard-level education for under $500 a year.

No human being anywhere on the planet will ever need a college degree again, starting from 2025. Wait, what? So Simon Sinek recently released this video. Is College Really Necessary? And I wanted to share why I disagree with Simon. Now. Firstly, I love Simon Sinek, love his books. But I strongly disagree that college is necessary.
Yes, college still has value in our lives.
No, Simon is confusing college with education. What I'm going to suggest is that there is a whole new model for education that's emerging. Mindvalley is creating it. That is going to make college irrelevant. But everything that Simon says is necessary. There is just a far better way to provide it. People, you do not have to be sending your kids to college.
Do we need the subjects in college? Not really. Most of the stuff we'll study in college, we won't need in future. In our future. And it won't help us be successful.
This is actually true. The subjects that you are learning in college often aren't necessary. What exactly does this class teach? So let me share the data for that. A 2010 U.S. census study showed that only 30% of American college graduates actually work in jobs where they are using what they learned in college. This means almost 70% of Americans are working in fields where what they learned in college is utterly unnecessary. Simon is right. Those skills are important. But the way college is bringing it out to people is so expensive. Expensive and suboptimal. So this is where we're going and this is why I believe mindvalley is going to replace college. The first thing is we are building a robust curriculum of the skills that really lead to human transformation. It's powered by an AI called eve. Eve? It's named after my daughter Eve. But EVE also stands for Everyone Elevates. We look at everything that makes human beings better. And then as people are learning on mindvalley, this AI analyzes what are the qualities of the top students and it updates the learning. It updates the curriculum. Everyone elevates based on everyone's behavior. This is a self learning system. It is more intelligent than any curriculum designer on the planet. Now, Simon also speaks about the benefits of human connection. This is where it gets really interesting. The problem with college is that yes, you can get great connections on campus, but you're only connecting with other people on that campus who all happen to be freaking 19 years old. What if we can connect with people across the world? People of every age group. This is where mindvalley is going next. Our digital campus employs a new technology where we're building the world's most Advanced human to human matching engine. No matter where in the world you are, we are soon going to be able to predict who in your city will be most likely to be a close best friend. With this human matching engine, we can literally predict who to introduce you to. So you fall in love, or so you find a best friend, or so you find a job, or so you find the co founder for your business. This is a really complex task, but we've gotten some of the world's best AI specialists involved in this. And soon mindvalley will be able to give you a better network than any university out there.
It's also the first time in a classroom where your professors will expect you to disagree. In high school, largely you do as you're told, you take the test and that's it. In college, it's about discussion and it's about disagreement. And sometimes there are no right answers. So one of the things you'll learn is how to disagree, how to form an argument.
Phenomenal. How to disagree, how to form an argument. Ooh, this is where it gets so exciting. Mindvalley is building a human to human augmented intelligence facility. Now, what this means is this. When you are on the mindvalley platform and you are learning, we are creating a new type of tool where you take your learnings, your critical reflection, your notes, your journals, and you put it into a system that is best described as a brain connection device. You're connected to different brains and you learn from other people and they learn from you. The algorithm that we are deploying actually encourages disagreement. It encourages you to connect across the political divide. It gets every student to also be a teacher. So. So I love Simon and I, and I hate to disagree so bluntly. Simon is saying college still has value in our life, but he is assuming that that's the only answer. There's a better way. And you're about to see mindvalley go head on and compete with the entire idea of college globally. I promise you this, guys, and I'm going to put my money where my mouth is. Within five years, any human being anywhere on the planet can get all the same advantages in life as a Harvard degree without spending the ungodly school fees on Harvard. You'll be able to do it for under $500 a year on Mindvalley. And we are doing this by rethinking the curriculum, rethinking the teacher, rethinking how students connect, rethinking the campus by deploying exponential technologies. We're not just replacing college guys, we're building the single best product on the planet that any human being can spend money on. Better than an iPhone, better than a Tesla car. Because no other product, relative to the tiny amount that you invest in, gives you the transformation and quality of life boost that a mindvalley membership does. So stay tuned, and if you're currently already a member, know that everything is coming back to you. And know that we owe you a depth of gratitude for believing in us when this was just a crazy idea.
