Vishen Lakhiani argues that action sports like skateboarding, surfing, and snowboarding boost longevity, especially past 40. Mountain towns in Colorado, Vail and Aspen included, show how active outdoor lifestyles correlate with longer lives.
I stopped skateboarding when I was like, 22. But what you're saying is as we go into our 50s, that's exactly the sport we want to take.
Action sports are fantastic for longevity. In fact, the longest lived communities in America, Summit County, Eagle county, and Pitkin county, they're all in Colorado. That's Vail, Aspen, Beaver Creek, Copper Mountain, these huge outdoor communities. It's because action sports combine all these things. They do a bunch of other things. But what's interesting about that is most people think about skateboarding or surfing or snowboarding is these are the activities I'm going to stop doing. Right. And they're the exact activities we want to be turning towards. Yeah. So it's really, it's counterintuitive.
