A short YouTube monologue by Wayne Courreges III reflecting on family financial planning. The speaker describes taking his wife and two daughters to Washington, D.C., and uses the trip to discuss how their household conversations focus on income needs, budgeting, investments, saving for their children’s futures, and deliberately building passive income to pay for experiences like vacations.

How often do you and your spouse or your partner talk about your financial goals and what you hope to accomplish in the future? This week, my husband and I have taken our two girls to Washington, D.C. and just talking about how fun it is to have this experience with them. After we talked about wanting to bring them here for so long. And it just had us thinking. We've always talked about our finances and goals and budgets, but never. Not never, but most of the time, I would say the conversations are about how much money we need to have coming in to live the life we want to live, not how to live on the money that we are bringing in. So as we've gone through our different investments and what we're looking, you know, getting things situated for their college or futures or, you know, whatever we want to do, we also so have made that a point with passive income to have that coming in for things like this, like trips, vacations, fun stuff that we want to do to share our time with them.
