2024’s Biggest Breakthroughs: Josh Trent’s Top 8 Game Changing Life Lessons

A December 24, 2024 YouTube video by Josh Trent that distills eight major life lessons drawn from the year’s Wellness & Wisdom podcast episodes. Through short clips and host commentary, Trent highlights themes including ancestral healing and forgiveness, breastfeeding’s developmental importance, benefits of supplements (shilajit/ormus/monoatomic gold), reframing trauma, seeing triggers as learning opportunities, examining attachment and mortality, and ‘‘holding a lantern’’ — doing inner work to prepare for relationships and leadership.

Hey, everybody, it's Josh Trent. In this video, we're going to talk about the eight game changing breakthroughs, life changing breakthroughs that I learned that we all learned on the wellness and wisdom podcast this year that you can practically tactically use in 2025. In this first video, we learn from Teal Swan, which was one of my all time favorite conversations ever. You'll learn about the war on men, fifth wave hardcore feminism that started out pure, with possibly good intentions, that has turned dark. Why is this? What is the attack on men? And what does feminism actually stand for now, as well as ancestral wounds? The lesson I learned from Teal that actually inspired me to create in the studio here, over on the cabinet, an altar for my family. When it comes to ancestral wounds, we only hold on to the things that we create a story to keep us in victimhood about. Now, at first audible, you might be like, what is he talking about? What I mean is what I reject owns me. When I reject a part of my family, when I reject a part of myself, they are actually interchangeable. So when I hold on to a hot coal of resentment, I against a father, a mother, a brother, a sister, a grandparent, an uncle, an aunt. Whatever you hold on to, whatever you resent owns you. It takes away your life force. It takes away your energy field. Teal talks about that in this episode.
If you would like to know what keeps me awake at night, it's this one. I feel like I spend my whole life trying to undo what other spiritual teachers do. We are in a crisis.
There's something off, and I think I've felt it deep inside me for my whole life. Yeah, I think most people do.
There's no other way to put it. We are literally eradicating men. Male children are going to become more rare and more rare and more rare because the wounds that feminine has experienced with the masculine have gotten to the point where there's a desire for them not to exist. We're in a very scary point right now where most women are realizing that they're doing everything. The question is, where do men fit in? It's not actually possible to be a single mother. As women, we want to think that we can do it all. And even when it causes us pain, that we're expected to do it all. And because of it, children are suffering, we are suffering. And we're unable to actually set up the right structure within society to make it so that children can thrive. And we're always thinking about how to improve society that we live in. And the answer is with children.
But it takes us to parent ourselves first. How can we genuinely support mothers right now and give them the sacred honor they deserve?
Well, by recognizing first and foremost the importance of the. You have every memory of every single ancestor in your body.
Yes.
That means that we are literally inheriting memory. So many of the ancestral patterns that we were experiencing are the byproduct of extreme traumas, traumas that most of us cannot even imagine today.
Where do we go from there? Our next clip is with Dr. Dominic Neshweet, also known as Dr. Dome. This got over a million views. I think it's almost a million and a half views that this clip got on Instagram. It's because it's so interesting to know that how we come into the world as a child and how our mother nurses us from her breast, it can literally change the shape of a baby's mouth. Watch this clip. It's the biggest piece of wisdom that I got for myself as a parent, encouraging my lady to breastfeed our children, which she already knew. She actually already taught me that. So it wasn't any new information to her. But the reason I think this clip got and this episode got so much attention, especially with this clip getting 1 1/2 million views, is because it leads to so many life challenges when a child has a narrow palate. What creates a narrow palate? Well, it's a chin that sinks back when you pull the chin forward. That suction response when a baby is actually nursing, it provides so much more benefit for that child's health overall. Watch this clip from Dr. Dom and you'll see exactly what I mean.
Breastfeeding is kind of like the first orthodontic treatment. If you suck on a breast as a baby, you need so much force to pull that nipple and that milk out of there so that this pulls your lower jaw forward. And at the same time, this baby needs to breathe through the nose. And this will create a wider palate. But then obviously, your kid will still grow up for the next 15, 20 years. So what you eat then will either build you big, like strong, or will make you look a little bit more narrow. And unfortunately, in the western world, we grow too narrow. In nature, there is space for wisdom teeth and there's space for all teeth. Nature has it, right? So it's just the epigenetics problem again. So this is degeneration, actually, nutrition and physical degeneration. And I think it's completely man made. We can completely reverse it.
Let's say that a mother can't Breastfeed. And that's just like, heartbreaking. Then just eating a whole food, natural diet, organic as possible, pesticide free, could that reverse the damage of that jaw? Not coming forward from not being able to nurse. This next clip is about mana. Not just mana with the shilajit and the ormus that we've talked so much about on this podcast, but also the mana gold, the nano gold, which, if you look at early brain development in the Essenes and the Egyptians, it's been written that the children actually received gold from their parents because it helps with brain development and articulation and thought. And not just this bridging of the gap between the conscious and the unconscious mind that monoatomic gold does, but the way in which it produces lucid dreams and creativity. This is actually one of the coolest parts of mana. I love this supplement. It is the best supplement. I take it, hands down, freaking every day. The big takeaway for me on this episode was when I consume shilajit, ormus and nano gold, I'm not only infusing more light into my cells, helping my mitochondria, helping my energy, but I'm also bridging the gap between my conscious and unconscious mind, which allows me to operate in life with more love and less fear. Check this out.
The gold recipe comes from the Essenes and the Egyptians, and they were giving it to their children in early brain development where they were developing with more light. So they had much higher IQs. They were a totally different consciousness.
How did you even come across this information? Like, that's fascinating to me.
It's a combination of going through temples in Egypt. It's a combination of sleeping at the the Dead Sea and being exposed to a lot of the information from the Essenes and the Dead Sea Scrolls, sacred text, meditation, learning things from the elements, spending time sitting with masters that are currently alive at the moment that have activated their light body, that have been taking the gold for 10 years. And they have a charge now within their cellular biology where they're immune from disease.
This next clip is with one of the godfathers of personal development to ever walk the Earth. It's Dr. John Demartini. And Dr. John talks to us about trauma is essentially an event that's neutral. And when that event happens for us, we can either look at it as a gift or as a jail sentence. Now, whatever meaning we make out of the event, which, by the way, as human beings, we're meaning making machines, whatever we choose to make meaning of, from a loss, from grief, from violence, from abuse and by the way, I'm not taking away the severity of these things. My heart goes out to any human being that has experienced these tragedies, these hardships. But the fact still remains, and this is what I got most from John, that just hit me in the heart. In order to liberate yourself from the things that have happened, you must see them as happening for you and not to you. The path of liberation is really a mindset shift which allows you to play a totally different game. I mean, being the victim, which John talks about, is an easy place for us to fall into. It's a trap. But what happens when you play the victim is that you never actually empower yourself with a new choice. You never have a new path to move forward in your life and do something different because we're just stuck in the old story. It's like a broken merry go round that never, ever stops. I really love John. He is one of the masters, if not top 10, top 20 masters in personal development and. And I know you're going to enjoy this clip.
Trauma is not. What happens to. Trauma is the choice of your perceptions of what happened to you. It's trying to show there's got to be meaning to it, there's got to be a benefits, there's got to be uptime. And you can't have a perception without the opposite. If you're in complete white, you can't perceive, you're complete black, you can't perceive. You have to have a contrast to perceive and the law of contrast. If they're imbalanced, you now have subjective biases and you label things positive or negative. And you could be a master of destiny, not a victim of history. If you ask the right question and reveal to you whatever side you're ignoring in that experience until they're balanced, until you have grace. But if you want to really master your life, transcend the narrative of the story about being the victim and get on with finding the other side of the equation and liberate yourself from the bondage and get on past the baggage and turn it into fuel and take off.
That was powerful with John. This next clip is from Mark Groves. And this is from an episode we did where Mark taught us about the true meaning of teachers being triggers. Now, why is this, why is it that we get triggered right? It's a perceived threat to our nervous system. Maybe it comes from a loved one, maybe it comes from life. Triggers are essentially teachers, and here's why. When you're in relationship and your woman or man is you are perceiving them as making you angry. It's not necessarily what they're doing that's making you angry. It's your response and your ability to regulate and co regulate with your partner, with your loved one that's actually taking you on a wild goose chase where you saturate yourself with the feeling of anger. Can you relate to this? I know that I can. The opportunity of the trigger in relationship is actually our call to maturation and mastery. And this is the coolest part about triggers. I'm not here to say in bullshit that triggers are fun. Triggers suck. They're hard to get through. We all experience triggers. But what I learned from Mark, and one of my biggest takeaways for my life and my relationship is that my trigger is my absol. Greatest teacher. I know you're going to enjoy this. Let's listen to what Mark has to say.
Behind every trigger is an opportunity for mastery. When we're the slave to our trigger, we're a child. The maturation process hasn't happened. And this is the wake up call. This is like, hey, do you want to be you or do you want to still be who you were taught to be?
Mark Groves is a human connection specialist, author, podcast host and founder of Create the Love.
When you're triggered in relationship, there's an opportunity for you to learn a skill set, but also expand your capacity to hold the trigger because there's information there. The trigger is brilliant. So you don't want to remove your sensitivity because that sensitivity was created so you don't get abused again.
What is that that builds that agency or that power of choice in between the stimulus and the response?
The way to get to create more space between stimulus and response is things.
Like.
Most of us have shadow motivations, so they come from our wound. But eventually the shadow leads you to the light. So what leads us is a deficit. There's something in me that needs to be resolved. It's like, how do we change from the motivation of something needs to be fixed to I'm actually good. This is just skill sets I want to add on. This is just deepening of my wisdom. This is just further exploration. Because the approach previous view requires a wound, we become sort of the architect of our psyche and of our soul and of our beliefs. And we actually decide what input we're keeping and what input we're getting rid of. This shift is huge because then it's liberating.
Mind blowing. This next clip is from my friend and mentor, Scott Jackson. Scott Jackson is one of the leading Voices and not just neuro linguistic programming in North America. He's one of the top 25 trainers to ever be trained at that level when it comes to nlp. But he's also a deeply conscious and deeply spiritual man who came back to the podcast in the middle of his cancer journey. And he shared with tears, he shared with passion. He shared with just humanness and honesty about what he believes this journey of cancer is actually giving him as a gift. One of the things that I got from Scott was this idea of attachment. We've heard about it, right? Attachment is the harbinger of suffering, what we are attached to. If we have to have it be a certain way and it doesn't turn out that way, if we're so attached to an end result of a desire or a goal being a number or a specific thing, then what happens to us? What happens to our nervous system? What happens to our brain? What happens to our being when we don't get exactly the thing that we want? But what's really beautiful about this is that attachment is actually the reflection that we are all going to die. Think about this. Attachment is the reflection. So if I'm attached to something and it has to be that way, well, I'm actually forgetting that one day I will die. Memento mori. Memento mori. One day you will die. Think about this. The beautiful love story that we all can create. How can we ever let it organically create if we're so freaking attached to our story being exactly what we want it to be? There's no room for mystery. There's no room for God. There's no room for just organic life coming through and yielding us a lesson or teaching us something so special that we didn't even know that we don't know it was possible. And what hit me in the heart was Scott. That's another one of the game changing life lessons. For me, it is to really take an honest look at my attachments. I'm not saying that we can't have goals and desires. It's so important that we have goals and desires. But in order for us to live life well, we have to live life in a place of trust, in a place of peace. Trust and peace go together and from that foundation is actually the source of power. You can't have power if you don't have peace. And you can't have peace if you don't trust. Listen to this clip with Scott. I know it's going to hit your heart. It's hands down one of the best speakers I've ever met in my life. Enjoy. What is the purpose of you on this cancer journey?
Having cancer, being on a three year journey with cancer is. I've gone through two definitive existential crises. It started teaching me the nature of attachment and how my attachment was suffering and how that actually I was already happy and I was already in love and I already always was that way. The only reason I couldn't see it was because of my attachment. And so what I did was I spent about two weeks exploring death and I meditated on what it was to die, what it was to leave this life, leave this body, leave this storyline. And what happened was it all kind of just dissolved. And I really had my own experience of there is no death. If I die next week or I die in 30 years or 50 years, it's really of no consequence. You know, my job back to now is to do what is present now, to be love now, to contribute now, not to worry. Like, who cares about time. Here's about what time there is left. It's of no consequence. And with no attachment, I'm free. And then what's left? Truth is, what's left is to love.
This next clip got over a million views on Instagram as well. Now there's a reason for this and there's a reason that I saved this for last. Paul Check, for his third time on the podcast, dropped what I believe to be the best conversation we ever had. Now, in Paul's true style, we were here all day. We did the sauna, we did the cold plunge. He taught me so many things on the podcast, off the podcast, and I asked him in the sauna. I've actually never talked about this on a podcast or a show before at all. And I told him this concept of a leader holding a lantern that I've mentioned on the pod many, many times. But if you're hearing this for the first time, think about in your own life how you want a soulmate or you want to serve other people. You want something outside of yourself which isn't inherently wrong or bad. I think it's all human nature that we want things outside of ourselves. That's how we learn to know ourselves. But whether you're wanting a soulmate or whether you're wanting to serve other people, you must, I believe, hold up a lantern. Because when you and I choose to be a leader and a leader that holds a lantern, we shine light on us, on our imperfections, on our idiosyncrasies, on all the things that we may be comfortable keeping them dark. What happens if you just hold a flashlight and you shine a light out to the world where you're always in service to others and you're shining a light looking for your soulmate? Guess what part of you stays dark? It's the part between you and the flashlight. And Paul told me in the sauna, josh, you need to go with that. You must go forward with this concept of leaders holding a lantern. And it came to me. I don't know which podcast episode it was, but it was a turning point. And this is going to be the focus of our liberated life community. You can head over to liberatedlife.com Paul shared in this clip about people searching for their soulmate. Again, it kind of bleeds into what we just heard from Scott Jackson about attachment. If you really want a soulmate, Paul says, don't spend your time seeking for the soulmate. Spend your time getting ready for the soulmate. And here's why. When you finally get your soulmate at your door, they're going to poke and prod and do everything they can to hold up a mirror to show you where you're not embodied, where you haven't integrated the pain and the trauma in your life. So don't spend your time shining a light on other people. Hold up the lantern. Do the work on yourself. Get ready for your soulmate and your soulmate will appear. Let's listen to this clip from Paul.
Don't be in such a hurry to find your soulmate, because if you really knew what a soulmate was, you wouldn't be in such a hurry to find your soulmate because you'd be getting ready for your soulmate. Who's your soulmate? Your soulmate is the person that loves you so much, they will tell you exactly the truth of what they experience. Experience with you. For better or worse. They'll tell you when you're lying. They'll tell you when you're being an. They'll tell you when you're not following through on your commitments. And if you're not ready for your soul mate, you will reject her and keep looking for the woman that you already had and the next one will do the same to you. And eventually you're going to have to stand face to face in the mirror and cry your goddamn eyes out because there's not anyone left to put up with your so your soulmate is the mirror that God sends to you that will love you enough to let you do that for them. And if the two of you can survive each other, you found your soulmate. If you don't survive each other. You're not mature enough to have a soulmate.
So in recap, these are the eight game changing life lessons that you and I have experienced today in these short clips. Now, all of the full episodes are linked right here, where you're watching, where you're listening to this. So if these teasers of these clips sparked curiosity for you, follow that curiosity, listen to the full podcast, they're all linked below. The first lesson from Teal Swan is about honoring your ancestors and putting down the weapons. When it comes to men and women and feminism, we must, if we are to move forward in peace and in harmony as a society, heal the wounds within ourselves. The wounds where it's men versus women. The wounds where it's women versus men. The wounds where my father, my mother, my generation, my lineage, it's their fault that I can't heal. I told you that I created an altar here in the studio and I really mean that. I created an altar where I have my grandparents and my father and my mother and my lineage. And I say thank you, thank you, lineage, for giving me life. I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for you. So the wisdom that we all can integrate in 2025 when it comes to this first clip of the teachings of Teal Swan is to actually be with the pain, learn from the pain, and forgive those who have trespassed upon us. My next Lesson is number two from Dr. Dom, and that is children must be breastfed. They must be breastfed. There is so much BS out there about giving infants formula and not having them nurse. Now, look, there are, with respect, I'll say some women that cannot nurse, right? The baby won't latch or they don't lactate. And my heart goes out to those women. This isn't about shaming those women, but it was a game changing reel for a reason. It's something we didn't even know, that we didn't know it was unconscious incompetence. And so for all of us that are bringing children into the world, please, mothers, pay attention to your intuition. Pay attention to the way that your body feels when you're nursing your child. Know that you're not just giving them all these microbes and all this gut flora that they need to survive and have a healthy immune system. You're also giving them a form of life that helps to structure and shape their jaw, that makes their palate healthy, that allows them to have less sinus infections, a higher immune system, and just a more robust beingness. So Please. If you're having children in 2025, mothers must breastfeed. Next up, when it comes to the monoatomic gold and the shilajitin ormus, on the screen right now, you'll see an image of the mana, the mono gold. The reason I take these supplements every single day is because I can feel a difference in my being, in my body. Shilajit is known as an energy enhancer, as a libido enhancer, the ormus is great for all the minerals and the salts that you receive. And then when you stack the monoatomic gold inside of that, it can change the game for you in so many ways because your conscious and unconscious mind, the gap will be closed. Now what happens? What's so special about closing the gap between your conscious and unconscious mind through the vehicle of the mana and the mana gold? It's because the less barrier you have, the less critical factor that you have between your unconscious mind that runs your life is that when you become conscious, then it's not your fate. I'm quoting Carl Jung in a paraphrase. Until you make the unconscious conscious, it'll rule your life and you'll call it fate. What is Jung saying? He's saying that the unconscious runs the show until you do the work to become conscious of it. So when we have a supplement, a game changing supplement like mana, that can help you close that gap, it gets to be an everyday thing for you. Click the link below to learn more about mana and the mana gold. Next up is a recap of Dr. John Demartini. So John is an eloquent speaker, a powerful speaker, but the words he said that really, really touched my heart came to perception. How we perceive trauma, what we do with the challenges that we've had that have happened for us, it can actually shape the entire foundation and the fabric of our existence. For those of you who have been through a car accident or something terrible happened, it actually is a gift. I can look back on all the trauma that I've had in my life, and if I see it from a vacuum, if I see it from a gift, then I know that the words that were said that hurt me. The trauma that happened physically, emotionally, spiritually, the ayahuasca journey that I went on that almost cracked me in half and I didn't come back. It afforded me to go and get healing from Paul, check the trauma around pornography use that I went through in my life. It allowed me to see the other side of healthy intimacy that I never would have seen if it wasn't for the porn. So you get what I'm saying. The perception of the trauma, the perception of abuse of others or self, the perception of addiction, the perception of challenges, of hardships. These are the things that if we can have the courage to flip the perspective, not spiritually bypassing it. I'm not here to BS you. If we can have the courage to flip the script and flip a lens, to look at life through a different Lens, then in 2025, you can look back on all the things that have happened for you and you can start to do the inner work, to see them as a gift. Now, I know that might be hard and it may be a really great. If you feel charged or if you feel a click, or if you feel inspired or curious about this concept that John is bringing forth that I'm talking about. Listen to the full episode. Watch the full episode with John. I really think it has the power to change your life in 2025 and beyond. Next with Mark, we look at this trigger. Being a teacher now, in the moment of a trigger, it doesn't feel like it's a teacher. It feels like it's a trigger. You're pissed off. But the beauty that I received and the game changing lesson that we all got from Mark is that not only are triggers our greatest teacher, the teacher usually comes through pain. And the same way that we do an ice bath or a cold plunge or a sauna or a workout or a fight with our spouse or significant other, guess what? The nervous system responds in the same way. It's a perceived threat. There's a shift from the parasympathetic to the sympathetic branch of the nervous system. All systems go. Red lights are flashing. What do you do in that moment? You take a breath and you practice a prayer that I think Mark, I believe I told Mark this, but if I didn't, I'm going to tell you now. If triggers are our teachers, as Mark says, and triggers are calling us forward to mastery and maturity, then how do we cultivate? How do we develop the courage in that trigger point to actually do the thing that's most loving? I believe we do it from a place of humility. And one best way that I know to be humble is to pray. So I just want to pray with you right now. Whatever you're experiencing when it comes to triggers in relationships with yourself, whatever triggers you might face in this coming year, just place your hands on your heart and just ask humbly to God, God, what is it that I most need to learn and how can I be most Humble to learn it. God, what is it that I most need to learn and how can I be most humble to learn it? I mean, I can just feel that right now. So if triggers are. Our teachers cultivate the courage to learn through the vehicle of pain that our teachers are giving us by praying, by doing your introspective practices, by doing your spiritual practices. And I really believe that'll carry you forward to more mastery and more love and more peace in 2025. As we round out the eight game changing life lessons in 2024 that we can apply to 2025, it is so important that we actually take a breath and take stock that we shall die now. It's an uncomfortable subject. Who wants to focus on the fact that we'll die? It can be heavy. It's sad. I'm still doing work on what my children's lives will be like and what the world will be like when I'm gone, when I die. But also it's in the acceptance of my death that attachment doesn't have a stranglehold on the life that I live. And Scott taught us this when he said that people that have attachment, they haven't reflected upon the truth that they will die. I believe, as Scott said, it's no consequence how long we live. The only consequence is how much love am I putting out and what kind of love story am I creating for myself? So the next time you're deeply angry or something doesn't work out, or in 2025, when you have this audacious goal and maybe it works out in a way that you never imagined, can you accept it as the mystery of God? Can you accept it as something so powerful that you never even knew it was possible until it came to you? Once you released your stranglehold of attachment, it's no greater and profoundly said than by a man who's going through a cancer journey than Scott. So I would just like to say that, Scott, I see you now in the highest vitality. And I see you now in the highest vitality always. And we pray that everything perfectly unfolds for your health in 2025 and beyond. We love you, Scott. And our last life changing, game changing lesson for 2025 is to hold up the lantern. Hold up the lantern. My friends, do not spend your time shining a light on others. Shining a light looking for your soulmate. Instead, hold up the lantern. Shine it bright on yourself. Do your inner work while you help others do theirs. Shine up the lantern while you look for your soulmate in what seems like the Valley of the Shadow of Death. If you're on Tinder or if you're on these dating apps, it's wild out there, especially with the conditioning that Teal Swan shared with us about feminism. It's a rough world out there for many people dating when we can clear away the soot and the tension, when we can sift and sort all the BS of projections from society and people that have been wounded as to why you can't trust women or can't trust men. We only can do that by holding up the lantern. It's impossible to do it by just shining light on others. And so all of these eight game changing, life changing lessons, they only work if you work them. They only work if you take the time to be inspired by what I'm sharing my reflections from their wisdom on this wellness and wisdom podcast. You can only be wise and well if you gather, apply and embody. This is the arc of wellness that's on the screen right now. We gather through podcasts, we gather through teachings. We apply, we do the work, we pray, we do the exercise, we do the cold plunge, we have the hard conversations. And then lastly, we embody. Then it's in our body, it's in our unconscious, it's in our body, which unconscious and body are the same. And so when you embody what you've gathered and applied, you don't have to be in such crazy seeking of wisdom anymore. Instead, you can rest back on your sacral chakra and you can say, I'm always open to wisdom. I'm inspired by new wisdom. But I'm not seeking wisdom from a place of pain only. I'm seeking wisdom because that's what love wants. Love wants us to be wise. Love wants us to be well. Love wants us to love. It's so simple. We make it so complicated. And so with all of these eight game changing, life changing lessons, may it be a prayer that you can be humbled to receive the wisdom that your creator is bringing forth to you. And if you're inspired by this, please hit subscribe. It's been an incredible year. I've had so much transformation in my life. We moved to new land. I built the podcast studio, I've healed a huge portion of myself and there's still more healing to go. The only place we do healing is in community with trusted people who have the wisdom that we can sense with our intuition is valuable for our maturity to grow. That's what it's all about. So I'm excited to grow with you in 2020. 5 Click the link on the screen right now. LiberatedLife.com this is a community where we have real convers conversations much like we have on the podcast, but we do them in a way where you can practically take all this wisdom and all this information and distill it down to the ways you can really insert it in your life so you can see a different result. My goal with the Liberated Life community is that you can look at life through a different lens and that lens is right here on the screen. Physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and financial. It's in the nourishment and the mastery of these five sides of you and I that we become so liberated that we can't be monetized, we can't be manipulated and we can't be controlled by all the clutches of modernity that make money off of your and my suffering. So I invite you to join us@liberatedlife.com and I will see you in the new year. Take care everyone.
