A short video segment in which host Josh Trent interviews Justin Andrews about the Axon — a "smart stick" that measures force output and provides real-time feedback via a moving light (displaying force in pounds). Justin lists six foundational movements to demonstrate with the Axon, explicitly mentioning a squat pressed to overhead, a horizontal press, and a vertical pull, and describes the device's purpose: guiding users to match force-output targets to improve recruitment and CNS training.
Hey, it's Josh Trent. I'm here with Justin Andrews from Mind Pump. We're talking with Justin about his new invention, the Axon, which we did a full podcast on. Make sure you check out that podcast. Justin, you're going to take me through six different things with the Axon today. You tell us what those are.
I can't wait. So you wanted to know, like, some of the foundational movements that you would do with the Axon stick. So what we're going to go through is a squat. So the way I would do a squat, pressing it into an overhead position, and then we're also going to do a horizontal press and a vertical pull. So you know some good core activation techniques and just the ways that you can sort of train and enhance your central nervous system and your recruitment patterns.
And I know you're gonna listen to the full podcast, but for somebody that knows nothing about Axon, just tell them in a few sentences what Axon is.
Axon is basically a smart stick that will measure your force output. So when I push it into the ground, you'll get measurable feedback. So this light here is a guide, and it tells me how much force in pounds to push down into. And then, as you can see, the light moves. It's going to guide me in that portion of the strength curve. So basically, as a user, I just have to go through these movements and try and follow and match this guidance as closely as possible.
Awesome. Okay, so stick with us. We're going to go through six different videos. Let's jump in. It.
