Detox Expert: Mercury Toxicity Is The REAL Epidemic (not anxiety)

A YouTube interview (June 8, 2025) in which Josh Trent interviews detox practitioner Josh Mason about mercury toxicity, parasites, and a multi-layered detox process. Mason shares his severe personal illness starting Oct 2013 attributed in part to mercury (high mercury levels, many sushi/tuna and mercury fillings), his recovery path (dental removal, shamanic work, multi-year healing), and clinical guidance: build a foundation before parasite or heavy-metal protocols (gut healing, colon cleansing, binders, liver cleanse, then parasite protocols), expect possible Herxheimer reactions, and practical timelines (minimum three months: ~1 month colon, 1 month liver, 1 month parasite). They discuss water (half distilled + half spring; add minerals), supplement delivery (liposomal, suppositories, IV/transdermal more effective than many pills), and broader topics including energetic/entity clearing, spiritual practices, and the program 'Transformational Detoxification Masterclass 2023' (offers a $500 discount with code 'Josh').
Chapters
Is there like a beginning, 1, 2, 3 symptoms or signs that the detox system is not functioning properly?
If you are not feeling alive, if you are feeling asleep, if you are feeling. You don't have access to intuition, to a deep sense of something more than your mind and your thoughts, chances are a detoxification is going to be essential. Digestive issues, waking up and needing caffeine to function. 99% of people, the way they feel, from what I've gathered about society, is that it's pretty normal to feel lack of purpose, fatigue, a lot of anxiety. It's pretty normal to have a deep sense of unrest. Okay? So I would say that that's a sign.
People know you. You've worked with like Google CEOs, not.
Google CEOs, but managing directors, celebrities. I've worked with tons of celebrities. Yeah.
People that are like paying you a significant amount of money to help them detox because they need to perform at the highest level. And coffee and stimulants and all the stuff that people kind of mask or band aid their health with. It can move the needle for a while, but at some point, dude, the wheels fall off the wagon. People look at you today and they're like, wow, he's really healthy. Like, he, he is the embodiment of health. But if you were to go back in a time machine, that was not the case.
October 2013. I got insanely sick in like a two, three week period of time. My consciousness shattered. My voice, the inner narration basically split off into five, six, seven different voices. I couldn't hear myself anymore. I couldn't. I didn't know who I was. Three and a half years of, of suffering. I learned about mercury poisoning.
Okay.
And I read a story about mercury poisoning where the woman explained her experience in her body and in her brain. Yeah, I had. I ate a lot of sushi. I ate a lot of tuna. I had mercury fillings. So I was severely toxic with mercury poisoning. That was only one of the pieces of what was causing my suffering. Heavy metals are like a, like a weight on top of something. You know, it's not like they're, they can be the only cause, but most of the time they're exacerbating wounds that are already there. In my case, it made it impossible for me to heal with all of this mercury. And so, yes, I had off the chart mercury levels, ridiculous levels of mercury that I got tested for. I got a test after reading another woman's story about mercury. That's when I finally, it clicked for.
Me, you and you gave me the process of healing yourself, and that took many years, I'm sure, of healing yourself. I think it's really interesting when people can look at somebody like yourself, who's healthy, and they probably would never even think that you went through any health issues at all.
The turning point where I felt like I went from a timeline of death to a timeline of life, oh, I might get emotional. I was. I was in my basement, in my mother's basement where I was living, and I was about to go to Africa. Nobody knew that I was about to go to Africa except for my best friend, Eden. I didn't tell my parents I had a flight. I spent $4,000 on a shaman, on a credit card. I was in $60,000 of credit card debt. And I was. I. I just got my mercury fillings out, but not because I was convinced that I needed to do a mercury detox, because I knew that mercury wasn't good. And I thought that the fillings were going to be morph, the signal of iboga. I was like, I don't want any distractions when I go do iboga for my last chance here on Earth. So I'm going to take this filling out, and if mercury is a problem, surely that will address it. And. And if I had read that metal in your mouth can be an antenna, right? So I wasn't in the mindset of detox or understanding that world yet. And so I had taken them out. I came home and I read this woman's story, and I broke down on the ground and I cried and screamed for my mother, and I called my dad on the phone, and I had both of them in the room. My dad on the phone, my mom in the room. And I said, guys, I was about to go to Africa in 36 hours. It is not the right decision for me. I need help. At that point in time, nobody had fucking helped me. No one helped me with money. They didn't support my path. I was on my own. I was grinding, caddying, stealing, doing whatever the fuck I could do. I stole from grocery stores, supplements, whatever I can do. I was on a mission and no one would know. I mean, I had a little help from friends here and there, but nothing. I was. I was. I was grinding, right? And I. I begged them for help, for financial help. And though it was like God just came and, like, wrapped a blank in me, and my dad was like, I got you. My mom was like, we got you. They saw the level of suffering I was in. They saw the helplessness they Saw that I had a story like something that actually made sense.
The way that I see detox and the way that I've always understood detox is that the body has the liver and the body has this system that detoxes itself. But if that system is compromised, one might think that it's working, but it's not. So it's like we have this system in the body. Especially with what you went through and, and how you teach people, why would we even need to detox if we already have a detox system?
Well, I think that the level of toxins that are in our atmosphere are way more than humans have ever dealt with. You know, maybe 50 years ago you could fast your way out of all your health issues. You know, give your digestive system a break. This was the common philosophy, right? You give your digestive system a break and you know, you do seven day fasts a few times a year. All health maladies are gone. Right. We're dealing with hundreds of thousands of chemicals that are introduced into the environment from corporations. We're dealing with ridiculous levels of heavy metals, glyphosate, all kinds of different parasites and viruses and emf, and we're dealing with just an onslaught of unnatural energy that doesn't, it's not, does not jive with biological harmony. Right. It's not in the same frequency. So to answer your question, the detox process is so complicated that even if you have a good liver, there's still so many other things. You know, the intestines, the lymphatic system and intracellular detox and all of that. And also traumas. If you're traumatized, you're going to accrue a lot more toxins. You know, if you have deep traumas, these toxins are, you're going to store them a lot more than a normal person. So yes, we should be able to detox all of these. But we're in a new era right now. We're in a new, a new time.
Yeah. A time of pollution, massively. But it's not necessarily to like shine a dim light here and be like, there's no hope. That's not what I'm saying. Yeah, I guess most people, they, they don't know that their system is compromised. Like, how would we even begin to know that our system is compromised? It's one thing to have a healthy lifestyle plan and to execute that plan and to sleep and drink clean water and you know, do the things that nature intended us to do, like in a natural way, but is there, is there like a beginning. 1, 2, 3. Symptoms or signs that the detox system is not functioning properly?
Well, I would say the most, just 99% of people, the way they feel. All right. From what I've gathered about society and our culture is that it's pretty normal to feel lack of purpose, fatigue, a bit depression, you know, a little bit of anxiety or a lot of anxiety. It seems like it's pretty normal to have a deep sense of unrest. Okay. So I would say that that's a sign. Right? That's a sign. I do think that, that, you know, this, this. It's not. We're not meant to just have radical peace and joy all the time. I certainly don't have that. I like to live my life on the edge. I like to continually peel the layers of the onion. But if you are not feeling alive, if you are feeling asleep, if you are feeling. You don't have access to intuition, to a deep sense of, of something more than your mind and your thoughts, chances are a detoxification is going to be essential. Right.
That was really big. If you don't have access to anything besides your mind and your thoughts go into that a little bit.
Well, people think that they're their thoughts. Most people think that they're their thoughts. Right. I mean, I'm sure you've heard all this, especially if you're tired.
Yeah. Right.
When you're, when you. In your life force and your, your jing or your chi is drained, you're going to, you're going to be more associated with your thoughts. Right. It's harder to come out of that paradigm. Yeah, it's you. You just get sucked into it, locked into it, like a pattern, you know, but that's not you.
Right.
Who are you? Underneath your narration of life, what are you? Who are you? And you know, people have massive gifts that they don't even know about. Massive, massive gifts. Spiritual gifts, you know, intuition. Unbelievable things that this human body is capable of. But most people are sleeping.
My buddy on a podcast once, he was like, the graveyard's the richest place in the world. Because when you drive by the graveyard, there's hundreds of billions of dollars of ideas and potential just in the ground, which is totally true. Yeah. So, so that's one way that we can start to identify because really, like the, the conversation of detox, there's so many layers, especially with your masterclass that we're going to talk about, like, whoa. There are so many pieces of information that are actually really necessary to integrate, not just learn or, or, or mentally learn but like, to actually integrate which all of us, no matter if we're a parent or not, like, we need to know the, the warning signs. And so one warning sign is lack of purpose. Like, I'm not who I know that I am. My soul isn't expressing itself into the world. There's more, though. Yeah. And you talk about this in the program, but, like, are the other maybe just one or two? I know there might be many, but what are one or two more digestive issues?
Fatigue, you know, waking up feeling like you got hit by a train. You know, that's a common thing that people feel. Waking, waking up and needing caffeine to function. You know, I haven't had caffeine in seven years. You know, most people are like, what? Yeah, I just don't need it. I would say lucidity. Right? Like, we are meant to be lucid. We are meant to be able to just track thoughts and delete thoughts and, and be present with, with what comes through our space. You know, to be present every moment. If you're not feeling that, I mean, detox isn't going to be the only answer, but detox is going to help you.
All right, let's go into practical. Like the.
What is a detox?
We really need to understand this because something that in your, in your course, and full transparency. Josh, let me go through the program. It's absolutely amazing. Like you said in the first module, you were like, this is the most world class detox program on the planet. And I was like, okay. D. Yeah. Then when I started to go through it, I was like, yeah, he's kind of right. Like, I've never seen the first module going into the distillation process and why distilled water, which we'll talk about, and then the stages and the timeline of detox, which we're also going to go into. But one thing you said that rocked my world is you said that National Geographic did a study, more people have died on planet Earth from parasites than from war.
Yes.
That was like the huge come to reality moment for me where I'm thinking, if parasites can kill people, parasites can make people feel like they're dead even if they're still alive. Let's talk about that. Let's start the conversation of physicality and the physical detox process. Right. To parasites. Because I don't know from your research if you can give a percentage on it, but I've known for quite some time, ever since I got back from Thailand in 2019, that I haven't felt right. And I know their hygienic standards in Thailand aren't the same. And many third world countries, most people, whether they want to look at it or not, they are harboring some kind of fungal infection or parasite.
Yeah.
What are. Let's. Let's start the conversation right there.
Totally.
And this is in regards to the physical portion of the.
Absolutely.
We've really went into the emotional. We haven't even gone to the spiritual yet. But physically, let's. Let's go there.
Yeah. So when I came out of my illness, I released hundreds of worms, literally hundreds of worms. Some of them look like earthworms. From the ground that you see in the photos are wild photos of them. Right. Clients have photos of them. Like, this is just real stuff. I didn't pick earthworms out of the ground. Right. The comes out of you. And then there's round worms, rope worms, tapeworms, all different kinds of parasitic worms. There's also parasites that are microscopic. Right. And actually Dr. Klinghardt, who's a guru in this field, says that those are actually even more harmful. So there are parasites that are here to somewhat help serve humanity, just to deal with our toxic load. They kind of eat heavy metals. So they are here as some sort of purpose. But even if they're eating heavy metals, they're still sucking your life force as well.
Right.
So it's not to say that it's like it will be virtually impossible for you to completely rid yourself of parasitic organisms. There's always going to be trillions of organisms in your body that aren't you.
What if I wear a mask, Josh?
Yeah. Good luck. Yeah. Right. So. So these worms, they suck your life force, Right. They eat your food, they. And pee inside of your body. Right. And. And they create. They change your chemicals, they change the way you think, they change the way you feel. They change what you want, what you want to eat. Right. And releasing these parasites, it's one of the most awakening experiences you can ever have. Seeing one parasite will change your mind about your body for the rest of your life.
How so?
You cannot believe that it comes out of you. You can't.
You.
You. Me and many of my clients, I can't say you, but myself and many of my clients realize what's going on in this massive world, this universe inside of our intestines.
Yeah.
Right. And we're thinking about, you know, how to have better thoughts and let me go to another Tony Robbins seminar. What about just this organ? This. This might. This universe here, what's going on in this universe? Right. How can I fix this? Right. That's where it starts.
And in that process, there's probably the most incredible catharsis. In a minute, we're going to talk about the catharsis of bowel movements, which I thought was cool in the program as well. But there's got to be some kind of a. Earlier you said, does this relationship click, or am I clicking? In life, there's probably the most surreal, profound click for people once they actually physically see with their eyes that that organism was inside of them. There's got to be some kind of a. Maybe even a flame of hope that is lit in that moment because somebody's been suffering and they've gone to the Western model. And again, I want to be cautious and not throw shade and shame. But Western medicine has a place and a time, but it's abused and it's gone to. Because that's part of a whole broken triad from insurance and big food, which we've talked about on shows before. I will say, though, that, like, when people go to the deep down and they actually work with somebody like you and they get proof, like, physical, tangible proof that there was something inside of them that was killing them, there's got to be some hope that is lit, that can illuminate their entire life.
Yeah, yeah. It gives you a trajectory. It just gives you a path, you know. You know that your darkness is not all yours. That's the thing. The biggest weight is when you think it's your darkness and that it's yours to carry for the rest of your life. When you start purging it, you realize it's not yours.
How do people even do that? Like, how do you get. How do you know when you have them and how do you get them out of your system? I mean, I know we can't go into the whole master class here, but, like, what's that process look like?
Well, you can't start there. You can't start there. That's the thing. You have to build a foundation before you start slaying parasites. It's the. It's one of the most common mistakes in the holistic health world. It's like, oh, you have parasites. Let's destroy them. When they die, they release toxic gases that make you very sick that also degrade the mucus membrane in the gut. So it gives you leaky gut. If you were to continue killing parasites without healing your gut, you'll get leaky gut, right? You'll. You'll have a Herxheimer reaction. You'll go a little Cuckoo.
What's a Herxheimer reaction?
It's a detox reaction. When you feel like as you, you're cleansing the body, you feel worse before you feel better.
Right.
And if you don't know how to navigate that and you just keep flooding the body with anti parasitics, you're going to cause cellular damage. You know, you're going to cause damage to your cells, to your mind, to your psyche as well.
What do you have to do before you detox parasites?
Heal the gut, cleanse the colon, like colon cleansing, heal the intestines, take binders. Binders are like negatively charged vacuums substances. Charcoals, clays, zeolites, pectins, there's like 10 other ones. And once you do that and you. And this gut is clean and healthy and you have good flora. Right. And everything is thriving in there to a certain degree, then you can start attacking the parasites. Cleansing, it's a whole big game. You cleanse the liver, kill the parasites. Chelate, heavy metals. It's like so many different pieces of it.
Yeah. That reaction you're talking about I think is probably happening across the world because there is so much information. I did a quick search online like Cleanse. And most of them are like liver cleanse, parasite cleanse, cleanse, cleanse, Cleanse, Cleanse, Cleanse.
Yeah.
But the foundational work in your program that, that people have to follow. What happens if they don't follow the order of operations?
Let me say one thing about that Cleanse. There is no cleanse that will change your life. There is no cleanse that will change your life. You have to do so many different things to truly change this vehicle. Like you can't buy a product. There's no one product. I've never found one product that does that that changed my world.
And if that product claims that it will, it's probably bullshit.
I spent over a million, well over a million dollars on my health since 23. I mean I don't even. At this point.
You haven't even added it up.
I haven't added. You just know I probably could have spent $2 million in my whole journey.
That's unreal.
Okay.
Wow.
Yeah.
That's literally like more than Dave Asprey spent.
No, no, no, no.
Bulletproof coffee journey.
No way. So what were you maybe somewhere between 1 and 2 million.
Okay.
Anyway, somebody healthy will probably not have a huge problem unless they go very deep into like a parasite cleanse or heavy metal chelation. If they go very deep into that world, they will get a Herxheimer reaction. Herxheimer reactions can vary. It's anywhere between like a headache, fatigue, brain fog, feeling a little agitated, some anxiety to the know, deep end of the spectrum, feeling like you're crawling out of your skin, you know, feeling like you're going to die and you need to go to the hospital, your heart's palpitating, you know, fight or flight, extreme negative thoughts and emotions. You know, you, you know, someone were to take a whole bottle of iodine. I don't care how healthy you are, you could be the healthiest person on the planet. You take a whole bottle of iodine. It's, it's a very healthy supplement, but in the wrong dose you're going to detox like crazy.
What does iodine detox?
Halogens. Yeah.
And what are halogens?
Chlorine, bromide, fluoride. Halogens that are all around in our water, our water supply.
So you don't swim in any chlorine?
Oh, I do, I do, surely. Yeah. But I take iodine all the time.
And you have a natural detox process that we can talk about. Okay.
Yeah.
So then at the very first start, it's really about setting a foundation for the parasite cleanse. This is like the many different modules that you have in the program. So yeah, the link is right below if you guys want to get a discount. The code is Josh, which that's both of our names and it's for $500 off, which I, I truly believe after going through, and I'm not even all the way through the program, I'm going to do this myself. I'm committed to the 1, 2, 3 year process of what it takes. So the link is right below. The code is Josh. So when people start, there's this foundational aspect where they take some kind of an inventory, then they set themselves up for proper detoxification. I know you can't go super deep into it cause it would take five hours. But, but what does that look like on a, on a time or a calendar schedule, order of operations?
Totally. So you can embark on like a three month detox journey. That would be the bare minimum amount of time. And in that sort of phase in that timeline, you would do, you know, about a month of colon cleansing and gut healing. Then you would move into about a month of liver cleansing. And then you would move into a month of parasite killing. All the while focusing on remineralizing the body, focusing on a clean diet. Right. In my opinion, the lectin avoidance diet is the best diet. Where we remove nuts, seeds, beans, grains. Okay. And also Changing your water. Right. So most people are drinking toxic water.
Right.
I noticed you have a big Berkey machine. That's great. Spring water, distilled water. You can't drink tap water. Tap water is, is going to pollute.
You if you don't know that by now. Good luck.
Like good luck. Yeah, yeah, absolutely. So, you know, there's many different other things. There's emotional things, there's, there's binders, there are different gut healing supplements and it's really, really complex. I mean, I'm happy to go into whatever you want me to, just like.
On a high level. Right. So people know what they're getting into. One of the things that I saw was actually like after the gut healing is then the supplementation. So the binders, the things that actually are absorbing some of the toxins, the charcoals that detox from your body. Just talk about that a little bit.
Sure, yeah. So there's actually a bunch of things that just came up. So when you clean the colon, it's really, really effective to do immun mucoid plaque cleanse where you actually use these mega dose enzymes to cleanse the intestines of old rotting fecal matter and mucoid plaque. It's this crazy rubbery stuff that comes out from years of eating meat or eating, you know, meat is good, but we eat too much of it and you know, our digestive systems aren't that strong and we are sitting all day and we have a lot of just poor habits that cause a backup in the intestines. Yeah, right. So then once you do that, you begin to bring in binders. These are very, very porous substances that grab onto toxins. You don't digest them, the body doesn't digest them. They just go through like a vacuum and suck up all of the heavy metals, they suck up different chemicals and they allow your body to release all of this stuff. Binders are unbelievable and life changing and they. I've seen people come out of multi year, if not multi decade, depressions and panic disorders, anxiety disorders, nervous system disorders through the use of binders.
Right.
It's miraculous. It changed my life. I came out of hell with just binders and gut healers.
Is psyllium husk considered a binder or no?
No, Psyllium husk expander. It expands in the intestines. So if you're taking it with a binder, it swells in the intestines and then goes on into more difficult crevices of the intestines. So it allows the binders to Hit deeper.
Because these, these, I guess you could say health tools, like happy health tools, they go into the gut, they pass through the hcl, which like can, by the way, put a hole in this table. Our stomach acid so powerful, whatever we eat, whatever we supplement with, it has to be able to make it down into the tight junctions in the gut. It has to pass through the HCL without being completely obliterated. So we have to be very careful about supplementations and probiotics and things like that. It always blows my mind when the supplements and the probiotics are in like the refrigerated section inside of the grocery store. I'm like, what do you think happens in your gut? What do you think happens in your gut? You think you're getting all these great probiotics from a refrigerator? It ain't gonna work that way in your gut. So what else can we talk about in that first stage before we actually get to the parasite portion?
Sure. Well, just on that, not real quick, is that that's why suppositories and liposomal supplements are going to be the best supplements. Most pills are, you know, a lot of pills are ineffective. Some are great, but the liposomes and the suppositories which we can touch on, cross the blood brain barrier. And that's the real magic right there. To detox the brain. That's the magic, yeah.
And because they're literally going into the.
Colon, well, when you take a powder, it gets dissolved, you know, broken down by the stomach acids. When you take a liposomal formula, which I believe this thing is, I'm not sure what that is.
I don't know if we're talk shout out to newtopia.
It's, it, it's basically encapsulated with fat. Okay. It's like vibrated in a machine that merges the molecule of the herb with the fat molecule. So when you take it, it bypasses the stomach acids and is starts digestion in the small intestine and then it crosses the blood brain barrier, this magical little flap in the system. Right. That once something can access that point, it can go to your brain. Everything else is not going to your brain. Yeah, right. And then you can take a suppository and it hits the portal vein, goes straight into your liver, straight into your blood, straight into your brain. That's another form of. Or an iv, Right. IV does a decent job of going to the brain as well. Most things you see in a Costco or a supplement store, first of all, they suck because they're just they're, you know, sitting on shelves for months. Low integrity, low quality. But also it's not liposomal and it's not a. It's not a suppository. So most of it is just expensive pee.
So liposomal and suppository is primarily the.
Tools of detoxification, that and binders and gut healers, because a lot of gut healers are not. But you're trying to specifically heal the intestines. So some things can be liposomal, but most of them are not, like slippery elm bark or marshmallow or, you know, a few other acacia fiber and things like that. They're not liposomal, but they're still very effective. Then you have juices, you know, you have water. But the best supplements are liposomal and suppository form.
I always wondered that, like when we, when we ingest, when we take in things like healthy foods or even supplements that are liposomal, we take them orally. There's. And I'm sure you've studied this. I've always been curious about this. I never asked Michael Ruscio this. We had him on the show four times. And, and here's the question. When we eat something and it goes. And it passes through, we go through the peristalsis. It goes into the hcl, in order for it to get through the HCL and not be broken down. You had talked about liposomal. Is there any other forms of, of nutrition or of supplementation that we can take in that will pass through and go down into the tight junctions of the gut to start that healing process besides the liposome?
Well, transdermal. You can put stuff on your skin. It goes right into your blood and your brain as well. Subcutaneous, you know, injections. That does a decent job. But. But some pills are good. You know, there. I take tons of pills that aren't liposomal in suppository form, but as a general rule, they're going to be less effective.
Okay.
And less noticeable.
Sure.
Yeah.
All right, let's talk about the water. Because I was having conversations with Kerry Michelle about this, and I was like, okay, Josh says that we need distilled water because it's literally only the only process that's going to kill the water, all the, all the bad things in the water. And then her question was, and I'm sure you get this all the time, what about the minerals? Yeah, what about the minerals in the water?
Totally.
Talk about distillation. Why is that the primary way that you guide people for water? And then what do you say? When they tell you what about the trace minerals, Josh.
So I actually teach people to use half spring and half distilled water. Spring water is very hard to come by. Right. You have to have a spring locally, like true spring, like mountain valley spring. Right. Or you have to get delivery. It's a pain in the ass and it's expensive. If you have a local spring, it's awesome. Right. I had a local spring near me in Oregon back in the day, and that was a game changer.
Is there one in San Diego?
Not. No, I haven't found one.
You do the. Find a spring.
Find a spring dot com. Okay? Right. Spring water is amazing because it's loaded with life force, with chi, with minerals of the earth. It's extremely filtered from the earth. I'm sure you've talked about it before. Distilled water is excellent because it is negatively charged. So it's. It's hungry water and it grabs onto toxins. Okay. It's also pure H2O. If you have a good stainless steel distiller, you don't have any chemicals. There's no chemicals. All of it is gone. The glyphosate, the 80 different chemicals that are found in tap water or even reverse osmosis water in trace amounts, it's all out. Right. And so distilled water is very purifying, very cleansing. And you add minerals into the distilled water. That's what I always do. I always add minerals in, trace minerals or salts. There's tons of different mineral companies out there. And that's, that's how I get the best of both worlds. Okay, Right. Because you want to bring a little bit of life into distilled water because it's a dead water. Right. So you bring a little bit of life. Put some lemon, apple cider vinegar, salt. You can. There's machines that sort of turn it, you know, twist it, but there is no, like one water that solves all. Okay. I think spring water, distilled water. And actually a new water I was just introduced to a very, very high silica content water that I'll be talking more about in the near future.
What's that going called?
It's called a Queen Springs.
A Queen.
A Queen Springs.
Okay. Okay.
Yeah. And you can use my code if you want a discount there.
That's cool.
Yeah. Your code. You get a code there?
No, that's great. Okay. So starting with the foundation, like our. The percentage, I think we're 80 to 90% water, like as a being. And water is in everything. I'm sure. You could probably even squeeze water out of this table if you really compressed it hard enough. Like everything around us has some form of hydration, like carbohydrate or even just regular matter. The water that we take in the voice box that I have, like before we record it, you said something really fascinating. You said, when I hear someone speak, I can hear where their voice is coming from. If it's coming from their mind, if it's coming from their belly, if it's coming from their heart. Like, how do you decipher that? And can drinking pure, clean, hydrating water without any chemicals or toxins, can that change someone's voice over time? Can that change where their voice comes from? Or is that not related at all?
I don't. I think it would be very lightly related. Like, I can't really correlate those two things. What I could say is that drinking clean water will decalcify this pineal gland, you know, detox distilled water, clean, clean living will decalcify this pineal gland and awaken something inside of you. And when you awaken, you're going to make better choices. You're going to be more alive, you're going to want truth in your life. Right. So distilled water will help awaken you to more.
Right.
And more being spiritual realms, emotional realms. Where are you lying to yourself? Where are you out of integrity? But I wouldn't say that drinking distilled water is going to deepen someone's like, spiritual connection to themselves by default. Okay.
Okay. So it's more just. It's a nourishing base for everything else that comes after it.
Yeah, yeah. I think that there's. There's physical things, like all the stuff that we talk about, and then there's energetic work and they help each other, but they're actually. They're two different conversations. Right. And so where someone's voice is plugged into is going to be essentially, you know, where have. What unresolved traumas do they have? What are they connected to inside of themselves? What forces do they know? Do they know their belly? Do they know their heart? You know, a lot of people just know their minds. That's okay.
You know, when people start to go into the program and the name of the program, by the way, what is the actual name of the program?
It's called transformational detoxification masterclass 2023, because I had a 2019 version. This is a new version.
So this is the 2.0 mega to 5.0.
This is everything this Is like I've ever learned. It's. It's my life's work.
It really is, man. And so on the COVID of it, you have a dragonfly.
Yeah.
What's the symbology with the dragon transformation? Sure about that?
I don't think it's too deep of, like, a connection. I just had a really good graphic designer who made it for me. But I did see a lot of dragonflies in the Amazon jungle guiding me.
I knew it. Yeah. I was like, I wonder if this is associated with his ceremony work. Okay. Yeah. So that was it.
It was. Yeah. Dragonflies were. Would come to me at the most difficult, difficult times. When I was in the jungle, thinking I was going to die, they would walk me to my tombow. So the dragonflies would actually take a walk with me and guide me to my home, which was a 10 minute walk. Yeah. And this one or two family of them would literally take me. And it was magical.
There are so many things in this world that just cannot be explained by logical, rational thought. And I feel them all the time. Like, do you. I don't know if you and your wife ever want children. We do. Okay. So when you have them, you will feel this tenfold, because I do. The very first time I held my son, I went through a portal, Josh. Like, I went through something where I was something here in one second and in the very next second when I first saw him and I got to touch him and hold him, I became a dragonfly. I transformed into something that I didn't even know, that I didn't know was possible. Like, there's something so magical that happens there, and that's actually the port of life and death itself. You know, we've. We've had Zach Bush on the show, and he said, we've taken birth out of the home. We've taken death out of the home. And I believe that. I think that we have really blunted not just the animal and the angel corollary, but also the death and the birth corollary. And I think about the ways that. That he has taught me so much about the things that I cannot see, the things that even if I tried to explain them to you, you have to just have the experience of going through them and of being a father or being a mother to actually know what I'm talking about. The essence of what I'm talking about, the reason I'm saying that is because that's the setup for the question that I want to close our podcast with. And that question is in your program. You go into such depth about the physical and also the emotional and the spiritual is in there too. And I love that because I've been studying for my life the mental, physical, emotional, spiritual, and financial ways. I call it the wellness Pentagon, that we all either nourish ourselves or we starve ourselves. And so I'm in this constant process of how do I show up in all of those five areas? And because if I don't fill one up, then it's going to pull from another. A lot of people that are broke, they may be healthy, but some people that aren't healthy, they have a bunch of money. I think there's a middle ground in that. One thing you have gone through on a spiritual level and you talk about in the program is entities and energies. It's the things that we cannot see, but we can only feel them once they're in us or once we're attuned to them vibrationally. In other words, entities only can live where they have space to live. When I got my entity down in Costa Rica, I'm sure when you got your entity, it eventually turned into a beautiful blessing. A super beautiful blessing. If you told me five years ago the entities were real, I would have said, go fuck yourself. Like, there's no way.
So let's.
Let's end the podcast here on. On some of the things that we cannot see. Yeah. That we really, truly need to detoxify from. On a spiritual level. Let's. Let's start the conversation there.
I had many noxious energies, entities, parasitic entities that were in my field, on my. In my etheric, during my journey. And let me just start by saying I'm definitely not an expert in the entity world. I know experts I've trained, studied with them, not to become one myself, but to heal myself. Dr. Samuel Sagan from the Claire Vision School is one of the most profound teachers I've ever found in my entire life. I would say the most profound teacher I've ever found in my entire life. And he was a medical doctor. And then he began studying the, you know, the other realms and began going deep into the third eye and deep into meditative spaces. I don't know him personally. He. He's passed away now, but his books and his teachings. So long story short, there are noxious energies that can come in during trauma. You know, when we're very young, our etheric is wide open. These perverse energies can come in. You know, if we're traumatized, raped, beaten for, blacked out on drugs, blacked out on alcohol. There's a collapse in the etheric. It's our natural protection mechanism, but it collapses, you know, and when that happens, there are. There are energies that come in. They. They're like energetic worms, mosquitoes. They're not evil per se. Some of them can be, but they're just like programs, right? They just have a program of sucking your energy, keeping you weak, feeding you thoughts. They don't. It's not necessarily like a demon like exorcism that we see in the movies, though I have seen stuff like that as well most of the time. They are noxious parasitic entities inside the etheric field. They latch into a wound or a samskara and they feed you negative thoughts and convince you of things for the rest of your life. And when you die, they shatter and there's parts of the astral body that fracture. And then they can get passed on to the next person, the next victim, the next host. Whether it be someone who's blacked out drunk or a baby in the house who's very, very vulnerable. Right. That's why it's not great to like, be in houses where people have died, because they're. Unless you know how to clear the space effectively. But anyway, point is that there is the unseen realm and things come in and they can make you sick. And you can't detox those with supplements. You can't detox those with, you know, clean water. You can't detox them with sage or palo santo or good thoughts.
Yeah.
These are things that are deeply embedded in the etheric. They know how to trick. It knows how to trick you. You know, it knows. It knows your. It knows your portals and pathways, right? So you need help. You know, we need help clearing these things. And there's clears all over the world, different traditions and shamans who have different techniques. You know, I've gone through so many different techniques. And what I will say is when you find someone who knows what they're doing, it's like being seen for the first time in your whole life. Because, you know, I used to have this foreign consciousness, this dark narration next to my. Next to me all the time. All the time. You know, you're weak, you're stupid, you're dumb. And we all have a. An inner voice that is a critic as well. But this was another level. Yeah, this was another level of a critic. And when I was seen in that for the first time by a healer, I was like, oh, my God, I'm not this dark. I'm not this thing. It was actually here on my. In My belly. But it connects to the thoughts, of course. So, yeah, noxious energies are a big part of health, a big part of sovereignty. A lot of people are with their entities for the rest of their life and think that that's them, and they.
Just simply don't know.
They don't know. They don't know. Sometimes they don't care. Sometimes they want. Sometimes they like their entities. Huh.
Entities can drive human behavior. I remember I was sitting here with Dave Asprey and we were both talking about the. I think it was National Geographic, actually, that the ant that gets the cordyceps mushrooms, and it's the zombie ant that then directs the ant to go to the part of the tree where the sun is shining on it so the cordyceps can propagate. I'm like, oh, my God. Like this ancient bacteria. So whether it's a physical channel where the entity can come in or a psychic channel, for me, and I've already told this story, which we'll link down in the show notes, but I opened myself up because I drank way too much ayahuasca in a space that wasn't being held properly. But honestly, at the end of the story, it was for my good. What I wish. The pain that I went through and the two years of OCD that I went through and the thoughts that just honestly took me to my knees at the very starting of my intimate relationship with the mother of my child. No, I would not wish that on anyone else. But. But at the end of it, I really was able to look at the part of myself that I was ignoring, and that was the addiction to pornography, the things that I hadn't forgiven myself for. The anger and resentment towards my father, the complete disapproval of a mother who is sick, and all of these things that I had to, like, throw up. And I threw them up in a bucket. Yeah. But in the process of me going through all of that removal, I had to experience all the micro and macro traumas that I hadn't looked at for two decades. And in the process of me spiritually detoxing and physically throwing up, I was going through a lot of the scenes from porn that I had seen, a lot of the feelings that I had felt about my mother and father and people that had bullied me in school, and I had to actually purge that for real. But in the process of me doing that, the space wasn't being held correctly. And it's not a judgment towards that space. I wish them well. It's really just like, don't, don't Allow yourself to call yourself a healing center, or don't allow yourself to call yourself a shaman unless you hold yourself responsible for every single person that is in that ceremony. You're not allowed to call yourself a shaman or a healing center unless you take full responsibility for all participants. And Hamilton Souther can back this up because we talked about this in length with him.
Yeah.
So my question for you is, as people are spiritually detoxing, they're emotionally detoxing, they're physically detoxing, maybe they're even detoxing past lifetimes. If you look at generational trauma and Mark Wolin, there's a lot here. Josh, we scratched the surface of Surface man on the podcast as, as we're going through the purging of all this stuff. How do we do it mindfully so that we don't hurt ourselves in the detox and in the purification process?
Totally. Totally. I have a lot to say about Iowa, Please. About ayahuasca, but I don't know if we're.
We got time.
Go.
Let's go.
I. I just want to say ayahuasca is that there's more and more of that popping up, is people who don't know how to hold space properly and who are serving, you know, this ancient medicine, and it's becoming a Westernized thing. Right. It's losing its magic, and it's, It's. It's purity. Right? So for me, I, I don't think. I think hallucinogens are a tool, but I am not a. I don't tell any of my clients to do hallucinogens. Right. Like, it's not. Like I say, don't do them, but I don't have it in the protocol. It's never a protocol for someone, no matter how much they're suffering. My advice is never going to be go do ayahuasca. Right. For some people, it's going to be a key. It's going to unlock something for them. But for most part, it's been tainted with Western greed. The spaces have been tainted with greed and with all of our Western, like, American consumerism spaces, unconscious capitalism. Yeah.
We've.
We've corrupted the space of ayahuasca. So when you drink that ayahuasca and you plug into that astral realm, you're also plugging into all of that toxicity that we've created in it. It. It's not its purest form anymore. Right. So, plus, the work that we're talking about now is work that you do with your own will. If you can do work with your own will. You create something that you take with you at death. Okay. If you take ayahuasca, it's, it's. It's a drug. You're changing your state. There's no will involved. You're not forging anything in your energy. You're not meditating, doing Wim Hof, doing any sort of practice qigong. You're literally just going like this and waiting for it to happen.
It could be an outsourcing of power and agency.
Absolutely.
Yeah.
Absolutely. Right. So. So, yes, it can be good. But for the most part, the things that have changed my life are things that my will has to be forged, the things that I don't want to do. Right. When I wake up and I go on my cold plunge every morning, I don't want to go in any of the days, but I do it and I forge something in my energy. I meditate every day, forging, forging, forging, creating that pipeline to God through my will. No one can take it away. When you create that pipeline to God from a drug, from a substance, it's gone the next day. Where, where was it? How do I get back there? Right. How do I get back there? Who can take me there? What do I need to get there? Right. So that's what I really believe, is that the magic comes with you when you engage your own will. Nothing is free here in this. In this world. Nothing.
It's so good.
Yeah.
Yeah. I really appreciate your. Your insight there.
Yeah. So there's a question. Yeah, go ahead.
As parting guidance. Yeah. Like, you know, we've talked about all these different aspects of self.
Yeah.
The financial piece is something that I know you and I have both talked about in the past. I believe, and I'm curious how you believe, because we've really hit on the mental, physical, emotional, spirit, spiritual. We've really gone deep today. We covered a lot of ground, which is necessary because most Detox podcasts, this is the first time we've ever really implemented the spiritual and the emotional into the detox. I think that's super important. But another way that we show up in this world, otherwise we wouldn't be here, is this agreement for money, like finance, as people detoxify. Have you seen your clients? Because this is a really big take home. If somebody's going to invest in the program, they're going to need to see a result, and actually their behavior is going to have to produce different financial results for them, too. Can you take this practical of, like, maybe a person or a Leader of a world class business or somebody in Silicon Valley where because of their detox, there was a specific byproduct of their healing which allowed them to show up more financially abundant in the world.
Oh my goodness. I mean everybody, everyone who goes deep into detox makes more money. It's like a fact, because money is just an energy. It's like a game. It's like a video game, right? And when we're stuck in our shit, we don't have access to really playing the video game effectively. We think it's really hard. There's all these emotions in the way, all these traumas. But when we see that money is literally everywhere, when we remove all this emotional baggage and we realize that there is money everywhere, you know, you bust loose from the money game, right? When you detox, you go from a place of feeling like you have to practice this as well. You can't just detox, but you have to practice the art of busting loose from the money game, right? Or rather real rich versus fake rich, okay? Fake rich, you can have as much money in the world as you want, but fake rich people constantly think that money is, is like a stream about to be cut off at any moment, a faucet about to be turned off, right? They're saving, budgeting, preserving, trying to hold on to it, right? They are. You know, money is their goal. Money is their goal. And they sacrifice today for tomorrow. They're not present today. Today doesn't exist because they're trying to get more widgets for tomorrow. So let me just sacrifice everything today. I don't need a relationship, I don't need my health, I don't need to take care of myself. I'm going to make more money, right? Real rich, which you can access when you feel good, okay, is that money is a flow of a river. It's always ever present, okay? Money is not the objective. It's an energy that you get to use with joy. You spend money with joy. Real rich people know that their emotional state pulls in more wealth when you spend money. One thing I like to say is every time I spend big money, right? May this money stimulate the economy, Bless everyone who it touches and return to me multiplied, right? And then I, I thank God that I can spend this amount on rent. I can't believe I get to spend this amount on rent. So long story short, detox helps you feel rich. And when you feel rich, it's more important than being rich. Feeling good and feeling rich is more important than being rich, right? And so I have Seen all of the executives I've worked with magnify their businesses. I mean, big. Big name people. I don't know if I need to say it on the show, but you can look at my website. I. Multi. You know, billionaires. Multi. Multi, you know, nine. Whatever. Hundreds and millions of dollars of people. Whatever. Somehow when people have money, people, you know, they respect them more. So that's why I say it.
Sure.
But in truth, they're no different than any normal client that I have. Right.
And they also have specific demands that maybe people could never understand unless they were at that level.
Yes.
Which is part of productivity for detox.
Yes. Of productivity and mental sharpness. You know, it's the amount of time that they have to spend. Right. So, yeah, there's YouTube videos of people talking about this work of big CEOs, and. And it's. It's a life changing work.
It's exciting that you got to create a life that you. I. It's written all over you.
Tell me more about that.
Like, you love. You love what you do.
I do.
You love it. Yeah. I mean, I can see it in your program. I can feel it from you. You love. Love what you do. It's like, I love conversation because we fumble, we connect, we click, we explode, we come back down. True conversation is messy.
Yeah.
True. Podcasting isn't perfect. Like, we're not editing any of this. It's all in there.
Yeah.
And I think that that's really important with life is as we stumble and fumble and, like, get bloody and scraped and then moments where we are, you know, almost perfect, and just to take it all in, swallow it, digest it, and be like, wow, I'm so grateful that we got to this thing. I'm so grateful that we actually got to just. I mean, I'm getting emotional just thinking about, like, that we get to be fathers, that we get to be wives, that we get to be husbands and mothers and grandparents. Like, it's all part of this massive unfolding that I'm so grateful for.
Yeah.
I will say that. That I did have a vision when I was in ceremony, and it was you and I written on a page, man. Josh Mason, Josh Trent, and all my family and all your fan. We were on one little page on a book that spanned infinite back and infinite forward. And I was able to feel it and see it, and I was so grateful that I at least got to be this little writing on a page, like, just how. How grateful I was for just that. And I think if we can just take that into our journey of detoxification, or, you know, even my journey right now, where I'm. I'm stepping into this detoxification. I'm stepping into what is the truth in my life. And it gets so hard at times where we can feel like we're alone or that nobody else in the world feels like. I feel I'm the most miserable person in the world, and it ain't true. It's not true. So. So to close the podcast, how do you define wellness? Your journey of, like, ultimate, savage heartbreak for the physical. Physical issues you were dealing with and having to put away the athletic career and going through multiple relationships. Now being married, like, what a wild ride you've had.
Yeah.
And so from. From everything you've learned and from all the clients that you help, how do you define wellness? What does it mean to live your life?
Well, I don't have a rehearsed answer, so this may not be my ultimate truth.
Right.
Okay. It's my truth right now. Right?
Yeah.
I think that being on one's edge is one of the most vital, amazing pieces of wellness imaginable. I think that people look for comfort. They try and make enough money so they can be comfortable. But what I've learned about. I can just speak for the masculine, is that a lion is in its prime when tomorrow is uncertain. Right. A lion has no idea where the next meal is coming. And it has to battle the elements. It has to battle all of this crazy. And it is in its best form because tomorrow is uncertain. You take that same line, put it in a zoo. Miserable, miserable disease.
Yeah.
Humans love the edge. We love it. It makes us feel alive. It makes us feel healthy. It makes us feel vital. When we lose the edge, we lose our health.
Right.
So what is your edge? And surf it. That's what I teach all of my clients, to be on the edge. I don't want to ever lose my edge. I lose it sometimes. I really do. I lost it for months last year. I was. I was down. I was down.
Right.
And then I found it again. I found my edge. And it's always about balancing all of these things that we talk about. What's your edge? So for me, wellness is the edge. Wellness is vitality. Wellness is authenticity. Wellness is knowing who you are, knowing what to speak, how to speak it, who to have in your life, being deeply connected to your intuition. And wellness is pain. Wellness is pain. I don't know any true spiritual badass that doesn't suffer on a regular basis. Right. You may see their Instagram and maybe think, and may think they don't suffer, but when you get to know them, I've gotten to know these multi mega people, influencers. They're suffering. There's a part of them that's a mess. Yeah, me too. I'm a mess somewhere, right?
Yeah.
And so, so my answer is wellness is. Is the ability to be vulnerable in that, to be real, to let it all out, you know, to honor it, to own it, to be present. I'll say the most important word of all of these words I just said is, is presence. If you're present, you're well. And it's so rare to find presence. People aren't cultivating it. People are getting sucked into the digital world. We're losing it. We're losing a core part of our humanity in this, in this astral digital realm that's pulling us away from soul and presence. So what I would say is that presence is wellness. You cultivate presence and your illness will melt away.
That's beautiful, man. Yeah, that's beautiful. And it's beautiful because in the present, we are always getting how we started this podcast. The tickles of what is needed. If I'm really present with you, and I'm really present with my children and with my partner and with my life and with my business, instead of getting the sledgehammers, I'm gonna get those little soft, intuitive messages and I'm gonna have the fucking capacity to listen.
Yeah.
Which is amazing, dude.
Yes.
Awesome conversation and thank you so much for the discount. Like, that's real. I know how challenging it is to pull together 20 plus years of research of like, wow, how do we truly detox? You will not find this information. You won't find this on the Internet. I'm telling you straight up, like, it's not there. And if it is there, you're just going to get little pieces of it. Never have I seen a program where everything you need and actually the, the how to's, the systemization, the recommendations, you've done a freaking magical job. And I, I'm. I created a program for breathwork. So, like, I know how challenging it is to encapsulate all your wisdom and knowledge. So thank you for that. Again, the code is Josh and it's 500 bucks off the program. So that is awesome, man. And the link is joshtrend.com detox so.
