This YouTube video features Kyle Cease describing an 11-day fast undertaken not for physical outcomes but to 'know God' and dissolve ego-driven motivations. He links spiritual surrender and fasting to unexpected practical results (improved vision, clarity) and recounts a dramatic personal arc from severe anxiety and a psychotic episode leading to hospitalization, through recovery and comedic success.

You're on day 11 of your fast. You said, I'm not fasting to get something. I'm fasting to know God. I literally spent the last 11 days just watching Kyle die left and right. I noticed that if I fast to get a result, I'm going to do this so I can lose weight. I'm going to do this so I can become healthy. I'm going to do this for any other reason than God. Then this fast is under my egoic control. But when I go, I'm going to God, all kinds of other miraculous things show up to. Doing nothing in 11 days has caused more results than if I was working out every day really hard trying to make it happen. My vision has become much better. I can actually see much clearer. I can see much easier, farther away. And the more I'm not attached to an outcome, the more it seems to happen. I went from suicidal anxiety to number one Comedy Central special in 2006. In 2009, I won this Comedy Central best comedian of the year. And one day I started hearing through the grapevine that different comics that were peers of mine were now talking crap about me. I was so paralyzed with fear and pain, and I was just in panic and fight orf flight every second. I started seeing stuff and I went crazy. And we went to the hospital and they had to put me to sleep, and I realized that's not me. And then, like, everything fell off and I just felt this freedom. At what part of your journey did you start to embody this where you didn't have to force it anymore?
